I'll never forget when my aunt got me the OG Xbox. It came bundled with the Jet Set Radio Future/Sega GT 2002 compilation and I played those two games to death. I thought I was experiencing a successor to the Dreamcast
KOTOR is why I finally bought the console (after having wanted it for awhile for games like Oddworld, Fable, etc) when it’s price dropped and I started exploring the library, pretty solid. I think I slightly prefer the 360’s library. Stranger’s Wrath is SO good and Fable 2 was a massive step up from the original (love the Fable and Oddworld series) in most ways. Then Oblivion (I know the OG Xbox had Morrowind) was a great launch title, although the Def Jam games for the previous generation were some of my favorite games ever, it was lucky a lot of original Xbox games were backwards compatible on the 360, so you could keep a lot of your library despite having upgraded and traded in the console itself.
@@Steven-ph6pp yeah I remember hearing about that version. But by that point I was kind of over the game and I didn't have Xbox live available to me at the time so I wouldn't have been able to take advantage anyway
You’re gonna have to back that up with some sort of overview 🤔 If anything I’d say their output on the PS3/360 was a much bigger return to form, with titles like Bayonetta, Yakuza 3-5, Binary Domain, Daytona USA remaster.
One thing that you may have forgot to mention regarding House of the Dead III: Beat the game once on any difficult and House of the Dead 2, in all of its splendour, will be playable and UNLOCKED! 😁😁
Well, he did say he had to leave a bunch of great ones off his list. Would have made my top ten personally on xbox. Possibly my top 5. No honorable mention is baffling though. 🤷♂️
What I liked about the later Sega games was how good they looked and ran on the system. Most of the games ran at 60fps and looked amazing for their time. Also no mention of Jet set Radio Future is crazy to me.
ToeJam & Earl III is so underrated. The opening cutscene is like a 20 minute CG SatAM cartoon opener, it's mad corny but it's still entertaining and they put a lot of effort into it. You can collect and play 16-bit 90s funk vinyl records in a sound test mode, and it plays and feels like the first game, which was a 2-player couch co-op classic.
I couldn’t agree more with the sentiments that this era (Dreamcast into Xbox/GameCube/PS2) was the best Sega ever was. Those 7 main internal development studios of Smilebit, Hitmaker, Overworks, Visual Concepts, Wow Entertainment, AM2 and Sonic Team along with the 3 smaller ones of UGA, Amusement Vision, and Sega Rosso put out the most diverse, innovative, and engaging titles in the company’s history. I understand why they needed to restructure, but I don’t think the quality and innovation has ever returned to that peak which that structure facilitated.
@@rustymixer2886 Sega no longer maintains the structure of its Amusement Machine (AM) development teams as distinct entities. They restructured to streamline operations. The strategy was to merge expertise and begin focusing on larger projects- allowing for more flexibility and resource sharing among its development efforts. Probably good for business- certainly in the short term.
Also here is the rebranding of each of the AM teams before restructuring into broader more unified devisions: AM1-> Wow Entertainment, later Sega Wow after merging with Sega Rosso (AM4). AM2-> AM2- the only one to retain the AM branding. AM3-> Hitmaker AM4-> Sega Rosso AM5-> Amusement Vision AM6-> Smilebit AM7-> Overworks Sonic Team was always Sonic Team but sometime people call them AM8.
@@rustymixer2886 it's marginally better as it adds the special tours content, but 2 is the standout that everything else was built on. Even outrun online arcade for 360/ps3 owes their existence to 2.
We agree with our fellow viewers, and would like to add that a Jet Set Radio Retrospective would be well received. Most anticipated video segment? Music!
ESPN NFL 2K25 is still one of my favorite football games of all time. The fact it was $20 when it dropped was a huge draw but then to play it and see how good of a job they'd done was a nice surprise
It still holds up so well you called it NFL 2k25! SLX needs to do a 20th anniversary of this game and show some of the mods and roster updates done by the fans!
Still super disappointed that the Xbox being able to play Dreamcast games was a feature scrapped at the 11th hour. Bought an Xbox at launch. Bought a Dreamcast at launch as well. The Xbox being able to play Dreamcast stuff would have been pretty huge for me at the time.
While living in China I found an Outrun 2 arcade in dongmen, shenzhen. I was instantly hooked. Went tbere every weekend and challenged the locals. God I miss thst time!
This Era would also mark the last time SEGA were at there peak, instead of just releasing hit or miss Sonic games like they do today, can't argue with your top 10, but like many other comments I would have at least mentioned JSRF, since that game is truly locked on the OG Xbox and will never see a re-release at this point.
Honestly I think Sega would be doing better if they took the tired blue hedgehog out to the farm and focused on either new or at least deeper/less dated IPs.
Outrun 2 is my favourite racing game absolutely hands down. Just perfection and superior to Coast to Coast as the missions were just more interesting. Thanks for a great top 10! I would have included JSRF, SEGA GT and Super Monkey Ball Deluxe 😊
If you put together Sega's PS2, Xbox and GC games on one console, you'd have a true spiritual successor to the Dreamcast. Maybe Sega could release a Dreamcast mini and then a Dreamcast 2 mini with all the post-Dreamcast games. They made some equally great games for PS2 and GC as well. PS2 got VF4, Yakuza 1&2, Nightshade, Shinobi 2002, Blood Will Tell and Thunder Force 6 among others and GC got a few must-play Sega exclusives also like F-Zero GX and Monkey Ball.
2k5 is widely considered the greatest NFL game of all time, so putting it at #4 shouldn't surprise anyone. Hell, putting it at #1 wouldn't be surprising to most people. great video Lord X!!

@@someguy4957 I tried playing JSRF through Xemu but there's an audio bug. There's a sharp, tinny sound every time I press A. I can only make it about 10 minutes before giving up. I'm tempted to find a - hopefully still working - OG Xbox and toss my disc in there.
the game that made me destroy the L3 button in my controller: Gun Valkyrie, and no option for customization. But I finished it! My three fav sega games on xbox: Orta, Valkyrie and JSRF. Smilebit trinity. Thanks for the video mister Sega Lord X. 💪
I was literally just playing Gunvalkyrie last week on Series X. Looks great with auto HDR. I thought i was the only person that liked it back in the day. It got bad reviews and my friends hated it, but I loved it! I'm still mad Microsoft hasn't fixed Otogi 2 for backwards compatibility. It gets to 22.1% install and freezes. @@AmbientMess otogi 2? No, I'm installing on internal ssd on Series X. There's a whole thread about it on Microsofts page. It always freezes at exactly 22.1%. The first otogi works fine, but I couldn't get 2 past that spot. I haven't tried in a couple months though, so maybe I should try again.
While I've owned the first Otogi for years now; I've still never been able to play Otogi 2. I saw it for cheap at a bin at my local GameStop along time ago and still regret not picking it up then. It's a bit on the pricey side these days.
@@nickparsons337 Yeah it's not cheap. If you have an XBox One or Series X/S, you can grab it for 19.99. I was lucky and found a nice guy selling it locally on offerup.

It was hard not to cry watching this lol the Dreamcast and the Xbox 360 are two of the *GREATEST GAMING EXPERIENCES I’VE EVER HAD* (FF7 Remake on the PS5 and the 90s PlayStation Gaming Era share the number 1 spot respectfully); I love this channel and thanks for everything!
Appreciate the walk down some games I had genuinely forgotten I had played. Had a friend talk me into getting an OG Xbox and modding it because it made an excellent LAN party device. Pretty much every game on this list was a recommendation by the same friend when I was looking for good exclusive titles, save for NFL 2K5 and NBA 2k5. Good times, great games, great system. Watching this kinda makes me want to find one and mod it again just so I can do a custom boot animation and get all nostalgic for XBMC.
My first 3d game console after Mega Drive was Xbox and when i got Dreamcast around 2013 my feelings was the same..i love both of them❤ Sorry for my bad english
Show me the respectable same quality 3rd party Japanese library then I will echo your sentiments. They should have translated the entire Japanese XBox Studios library at least except for N.U.D.E. and thrown in the actual JRPG Tenerezza to make up that gap in the US. Oh and get the actual Climax.
@@Thor-Orion THAT is a compliment to the Saturn but NOT to the XBox. There were too many PC ports esp. of FPS's and for a while because of that we had an FPS wave that was like a bad STD that just wouldn't go away. I think they did that because FPS's are one of the laziest, simply easiest genres to me with VERY few having original gameplay, Syndicate and a handful of others being exceptions. Heck I would argue the XBox was the start of the trend of custom PC hardware for consoles instead of stuff like RISC. Because of that it seems like so many go through the same PC courses and aren't as rounded as game programmers in the past. With the death of arcade market in the US they completely eliminated needing to learn on that hardware. I also think many of these arcade games on consoles don't have quite the same feel as the ones in the past. I think the use it or lose it is quite applicable when you look at the trash Cheap Thrills offers in the arcade.
For all the scorn you have for Panzer Dragoon Saga, I think we need to acknowledge that Orta would not have been the game it was without it. Several of Saga's core ideas were incorporated into Orta, including the real-time dragon morphing and the positional movement system during boss battles. The latter was lifted directly from Panzer Dragoon Saga's combat system. One of the many things I love about the Panzer Dragoon series is how gameplay ideas cross pollinated across genres and enriched both.
2005 was a great year for all games, def including sports games. Even pro-wrestling if you want to consider it a sport had two of the best games of the entire genre, w/ WWE Day Of Reckoning 2 & Smackdown! vs Raw 2006 both being released that year.
Absolutely!!! I was unstoppable on there with Da Bears!!! The gameplay was beyond next level and hasn't been matched since then. The fact that you could play against someone's online profile while they were offline is pure insanity. It will never be seen again. It's still the greatest football game of all-time.
@@bitterman_ yea last year I re-bought the entire smackdown vs raw series on PS2 and over a few months played through the season/career mode of each game for the first time in years. 2002-2011 was a Great era for wrestling games for sure.
@@rhyme70Four yea I played so many seasons through Franchise Mode over so many years I can't even count. Recently revisited it and played through another season and it still holds up. Major League Baseball 2k5 is also one of the only baseball games where I played an entire 162 game season. It took over a year, but the presentation on that game is top notch even by modern standards. NHL, College Hoops, NBA, they were and are all historical peak for that gen. When Sega sold the rights after that year and EA bought the ESPN license, it really downgraded all the 2k games immediately in 2k6, with the only exception being College Hoops 2k6-2k8. The appeal just wasn't as high for me after 2k5.
Gun Valkyrie was originally developed for the Dreamcast, aiming to further push the console's performance. However, due to the sudden discontinuation of the Dreamcast, development was shifted to the Xbox version.
It would have been interesting to see how the Dreamcast version would have turned out, considering the game relied heavily on the dual analog stick and the clicking of L3 and R3.
I never really cared for the original XBox until Panzer Dragoon Orta came out for it. I pretty much bought one just for that game alone! (Of course I got other games for it as well). I wish I knew about Outrun 2 before I sold mine!
I loved Gun Valkyrie but Gun Valkyrie hated me….I just couldn’t master the controls back then. Perhaps being 52 now my patience will allow me to get passed all that. Great video 🎉
Yep, Gunvalkyrie have very painful control to master, for players and pads ... when younger, I crushed 2 pads before mastering controls, but friend, when you're able to pass levels without touch the ground, is just amazely fun
Spikeout is basically Yakuza without the story and just straight gameplay. That said I always would have liked to have seen an arcade style Yakuza game too.
Spike Out reminds me of the Dynamite Deka series, just heavily upgraded. The fighting engine feels very similar to each other and both feel similar to Virtua Fighter as well
Did you know the Original Xbox was going to be backwards-compatible w/the Dreamcast at one point? It's unclear as to why it was scrapped but sources claim the Xbox launch would've gotten delayed.
After the Dreamcast died, I had to choose between the Xbox and GameCube. I went with the GameCube, but - after Rare was sold to Microsoft and it turned out all the Sonic games were gonna be multiplats anyway - I've always wondered if I'd have been happier with the Xbox.
Should've known you watched this channel, but I think that it might've been best at that time for a Sega fan. Of course, that is ignoring an F-Zero GX shaped elephant in the room.
You made right call. XBOX is full of first person shooters. Gamecube has best exclusive games by far. However, Panzer Dragoon Orta and OutRun 2 on Xbox are some of the best games SEGA has ever done.
dude i just wanna say i absolutely love your page and there's some nights where i get home from work at the end of the day and a new one pops up or one i haven't seen yet i missed. this one really came through and thanks. one of my fav videos yet.
I hope you do a follow up video for SEGA games on the PS2 though and maybe even include the EyeToy game by Sumo, SEGA released some excellent games exclusive to the PS2.
The exclusive Sega games were one of the big reasons why I got an XBox. Little disappointing to not see Jet Set radio Future at least get a mention though. Cool to see TJ&E III on the list though.
I would have to say the absence of Jet Set Radio Future was unfortunate. Even though I preferred the original, JSRF felt like a truly next gen upgrade.
The only two SEGA games I own for the Xbox are ESPN's NBA and NFL 2K5. While I have some memories of playing NBA with my brothers, I don't remember playing much NFL. I was surprised to hear that NFL 2K5 is considered the best football video game of all time by almost everyone. Luckily, I still own both games and my family's Xbox, so I should revisit them someday.
Orta was literally what i would put on for folks who had a home theater and just upgraded to an hdtv. Even at 480p, the visuals and audio blew everyone away.
I had a friend that won the original Xbox from Taco Bell, but wanted money and sold it to me for $250 with DOA3, Project Gotham, Oddworld, and an extra controller. This was about 2 weeks after launch. The SmileBit games: JSRF, Gunvalkyrie, and Panzer Dragoon Orta are definitely some of my favorite SEGA games on the og Xbox!
The Xbox is basically a Sega console. Not only did Sega have exclusive games for Xbox but they also worked side by side with Microsoft. The Xbox also came out in 2001, right around the time of the DC's demise.
Jet Set Radio Future not being here is a crime. Same with Sega GT 2002. Sega made one of the best games on the original Xbox. Definitely, it was the "Dreamcast 2" we never got.
Good list! Yeah, the original XBox definitely felt like a Dreamcast 2! Sega kept up the pace with a lot of solid exclusives! Panzer Dragoon Orta was one of my absolute favorite games on the original XBox as it was just an arcade-like thrill ride (like the first 2 Saturn titles)! I hope someday we'll eventually get a Panzer Dragoon II Zwei remaster on modern consoles! 😟
The lack of new original Panzer Dragoon games, or rereleases beyond the first game and the aorta upgrades is criminal. They could probably make a new game, bundle in Saga and 10x their money with little risk. Outrun looks amazing when playing on the 360. There aren’t really any newer equivalents in terms of the scope of the stages.
Holy shit there’s a third person in the world who likes Gunvalkyrie. The other one would be Dave Halverson, he championed this game back in the day on Gamefan magazine.
I went into this expecting to see Panzer Dragoon: Orta (one of my all time favorite games and one of the best Xbox exclusives PERIOD) make the cut, and I was not disappointed. It was also nice to see a deep cut like GunValkyrie make the list too! That game is so good once you adjust to its odd control scheme! I was so glad that one and Orta were made backwards compatible with later Xbox consoles!
Another honorable mention is Virtua Cop 3, it`s a Chihiro game that was never ported elsewhere, specially since SEGA ported Virtua Cop and Virtua Cop 2 to a lot of different systems.
I still to this day play Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast on my PC here at least 2 or 3 times a year for a solid couple of weeks at a time. Just blasting through all the stages and having fun. I think the fact we haven't had a new Outrun game after all this time is way more of a punch to the gut than Panzer Dragoon or any other game on this or other lists like this. Outrun is basically Sega Arcade's greatest hits all in one game after all :D
The NBA2K & NFL2K games were incredible at that time. It is a travesty what has happened to those series. I am surprised that JSRF isn't on your list; it's one of my 10 favorite games on the original Xbox. Love the content!
Not even a mentiion of Jet Set Radio Future is really dropping ball. One of my favourite games on the system! Otagi 1 & 2 and Panzer Dragoon Orta are backward compatible on Xbox series and can be purchased on the store.
I loved the 2 Headhunter games but I played them on the PS2. Still good to hear the sequel get mentioned (although disappointed it was only a honorable mention considering the duds in the #7, 9 & 10 spots). The series feels completely forgotten.
I love racing games and played a lot of them. Outrun 2 is truly one of the best in my opinion! Just that feeling of driving with this stunning visuals. It was the reason for me to get an OG Xbox! Thanks for the great video. =)
This was the first console generation where I had all 3 consoles. I had PSO on GameCube. But I definitely had Shenmue II, Otogi 1 & 2, and Panzer Dragoon Orta for the Xbox!
As sad as I am that Panzer Dragoon hasn't gotten another installment since Orta, at least Orta was both excellent and well supported. It's still gorgeous to this day on a One X or Series X, and I will never get tired of playing through it. Everyone who owns a current- or last-gen Xbox NEEDS this game in their library before the legacy sales end. Although playing on a real OG Xbox is novel, this game scales to 4k exquisitely. It's excellent on Xbox, but just an absolute must-have for One X and Series X. Please, everyone, do yourself a favor and get this before it's too late. And technically speaking, even as a diehard RPG fan, Saga is my least favorite console Panzer Dragoon title, but it still makes my top 10 Saturn list. And I adore Saturn. That series is just that good.
Nice to see Toejam and Earl 3 mentioned. It was far from my favorite title that generation but I can think of a few evenings right after release where my friends and I spent hours just messing around and swapping controls back and forth (3 player co-op I believe but there was 5 of us). None of us loved it but we had worse experiences on the console.
Solid list, but it's missing Jet Set Radio Future. How's emulation of the original Xbox these days? I don't have the console anymore but would love to replay Panzer Dragoon and the Otogi games
You can see the state of emulation the OG Xbox it in the Xemu page, about 80% of the games are playable, unfortunately the first Otogi game is not one of them, however all them are available for the Xbox One and Series.
SEGA sure put out some gems on XBOX! I was kinda fond of JSR Future, and I did like both Panzer Dragoon orta and Outrun 2 (although that was over on PS2) sounds like the mrs.' curiosity has been piqued with the otogi games, thankful they still appear to be on the XBOX storefront! (she's more the souls fan than I am so these might be more up her alley than mine.)
As someone who played both Otogi and Dark Souls, I'd advice caution here. What IS similar between them is the approach to story. Everything is quite murky and vague, lots of stuff you have to read between the lines, and every dialogue-scene has a tinge of melancholy to it. But the battle systems are WORLDS apart. Raikou has a button for light attacks for quick combos, a button magic blasts that drain MP And HP, a button for heavy attacks that both finish combos AND can be used to demolish the environments (deformable, destructive and interactive environments are a MAJOR selling point of the game, you run around and absolutely WRECK the houses, woodlands and buildings you fight in- punching enemies through walls is a very frequent tactic), one button for jumping which takes him VERY high and puts him in a very floaty state, like in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, and one button for doing an air-dash which you can do indefinitely as long as you have HP and MP for it. See, your HP is constantly draining in this game. You have levels like in Devil May Cry, not an open world, and your draining HP is a form of time limit, though it's also very easy to refill HP here and there. And due to Raikou's high speed and air-dash mobility, you zoom around the levels and explore for weapons and secrets, zooming up mountains, hills and towers. You often have to replay each level quite a bit until you know the layout, so you can zoom around within the limit of your draining HP. I thought it was verybfun when I played it back then, because the graphics and mood is tremendous, and bashing enemies through mountainsides as you grind the mountain itself down to rubble was a mighty experience back then... but I can't say it plays anything like what FromSoft are known as now.
I grew up with the Xbox with games such as Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone, Simpsons Hit and Run, and MK Deception. Can't forget about Spider-man, the game based off of Spider-man played by Toby Mcguire.
No JSRF and no Sega GT, that's confusing for me. Spikeout Battlestreet I can highly recommend for everyone who wants a Streets of Rage in 3D. Its like Fighting Force, but so much better.
I agree 💯. That's why I became primarily an Xbox fan and jumped on board right away with the OG Xbox. Dreamcast was the first console I bought with my own money when I was 17 and the Xbox just felt right at home when the Dreamcast was sadly discontinued.
Happy to see "Mission to Earth" make it to the Top 10. This game was a favorite among me and my cousins during the holiday season, and alongside The Futurama Video Game is the only true game I still own for the OG X-Box. I always wanted to see it become backwards compatible with a newer X-Box console, but due to the shady history between SEGA and "ToeJam and Earl" creator Greg Johnson, I probably won't see that happening anytime soon, and it's a damn shame become it's a great game to play with a friend or loved one! When all's said and done, however, at least Greg got to create the sequel he always intended on making in "ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove!", an indie game he created with Macauly Culkin--No, I am NOT making that part up!--back in 2018, and I hope one day you get the chance to review THAT TITLE as well, SLX...
Gunvalkyrie is one of the most underrated and underappreciated games ever. It was obvious the reviewers at the time were just plain lazy and didn't give the mechanics an honest try. If it were labeled a Metroid game, the mainstream press would have dubbed it a classic.
How bout some 360 love. I was a huge PS,PS2 fan and never imagined I would love my 369 that much more. Theres to s of killer games on it. And alot of Sega games too.
Agree, the 360 has such a gigantic library of good games that I ignored the 2 following console generations because I still have a lot of games waiting to play.
Can't believe I'd never heard of the Toe Toejam and Earl game! I had an Xbox too! I thought the TJ&E game that was released on Playstation 4/5 a few years ago was the first game since the second on Mega Drive! I would have loved this!!
The absolute amazement of NFL2K5 cannot be overstated. That game was incredible and holds up unbelievably well. It has features that to this day Madden hasn't implemented(likely because they improve gameplay and presentation, and aren't for monetization).
Holy shit. It's so cool to see another sega fan's opinions. We can all be so different. Like holy cow how does someone not put JSRF? No critique here, it's just fascinating..I wish I had time to upload my own top 10 😂
Welp Sega Lord X, you finally did it. I've been watching so many of your videos that I decided to take one of my modded hand held devices and make it a dedicated SEGA unit. I'm going to target the 32X, Sega CD, Saturn and Dreamcast. First up to bat: the Sega CD version of Snatcher. A game I'll be playing for the first time.
Your flying? Uhh, I liked that driving, actually. I've been, like you said, playing Sega arcade games this whole time too, and brother, you are good at Outrun 2, man. That was really killer.

2k sports is the best. Especially nhl and mlb series. No sport gaming developer can give out quality like them especially during the sega era.

I agree, also I wish the xbox was backward compatible with cd games windows 95, 98 and dos.
A good list Otogi, Orta and Gunvalkery are damn near flawless but I would have added Jet Set Radio Future instead of Spikeout to my list
We played so many hours of 2k5 on xbox . That ability to have some control over breaking tackles gave it just enough arcade feeling .
Outrun 2 is my favourite racing game absolutely hands down. Just perfection and superior to Coast to Coast as the missions were just more interesting.
Thanks for a great top 10! I would have included JSRF, SEGA GT and Super Monkey Ball Deluxe 😊
Outrun 2 and Panzer Dragoon Orta were the entire reason I sold my PS2 and bought an OG Xbox. I still love playing Outrun 2 today.
Zwei? You mean Orta
@@akaunderdog4223 I do, herp derp. Going to edit that.
Virtua fighter 10th anniversary was fun imo on ps2 jap

Gun Valkyrie ROCKS, one of my most favorite games on the system. The Otogi games are siiiiick af, too. Absolute gems.
Microsoft knows about the problem, but hasn't done anything to fix it.
@@streetmagik3105 Your having install issues? Mine installs just fine on my end. Are you trying on an external HDD?

Ive been playing the heck out of Otogi 1 and 2 lately. They look and play so well for 20+ yrs old.

Many consider the Xbox to be the spiritual successor to the Dreamcast. The controller was very similar also.
My first 3d game console after Mega Drive was Xbox and when i got Dreamcast around 2013 my feelings was the same..i love both of them❤

I just stumbled across this channel. This guy seriously doesn't like PDS? Dafuk?
"Scorn" is a really, REALLY serious exaggeration. He's never even said it's a bad game.

The OG Xbox is such a great console to collect for these days. Many good and original games that felt unique. Plus, most fanes are affordable.
Much Respect for putting NFL 2k5 on this list. The entire 2k5 line of games that year were truly memorable for a sports fan like myself.
2005 was a great year for all games, def including sports games.
Even pro-wrestling if you want to consider it a sport had two of the best games of the entire genre,
w/ WWE Day Of Reckoning 2
& Smackdown! vs Raw 2006 both being released that year.
I loved Otogi. It was underrated at the time and I’m glad that people are recognizing that it was really great.
The Yakuza Zombie game is sorta arcade style, I wonder why there hasn't been any follow up zombie games?
Spike Out reminds me of the Dynamite Deka series, just heavily upgraded. The fighting engine feels very similar to each other and both feel similar to Virtua Fighter as well
Did you know the Original Xbox was going to be backwards-compatible w/the Dreamcast at one point? It's unclear as to why it was scrapped but sources claim the Xbox launch would've gotten delayed.
Phantasy Star Online was the only Sega game I ever played on the Xbox haha. Man I miss that series.
Was going to mention that
I mean the series is still alive and well currently lol. Or do you mean a new one in the vein of the single player entries?
You can play PSO on Xbox online with Insignia
Does track during honorable mention section is Day Dawns from Phantasy Star Online?
After the Dreamcast died, I had to choose between the Xbox and GameCube. I went with the GameCube, but - after Rare was sold to Microsoft and it turned out all the Sonic games were gonna be multiplats anyway - I've always wondered if I'd have been happier with the Xbox.
Should've known you watched this channel, but I think that it might've been best at that time for a Sega fan. Of course, that is ignoring an F-Zero GX shaped elephant in the room.
100% would have been happier with the Xbox.
I wish sega could've turned there world wide soccer series into the 2k series in the 00s.
*and OutRun 2006 looks amazing on 360 too!* ⭐️
Sumo's Sonic Racing Transformed is all different SEGA themed levels. I'm surprised it doesn't get talked bout much.
Holy shit there’s a third person in the world who likes Gunvalkyrie. The other one would be Dave Halverson, he championed this game back in the day on Gamefan magazine.
The OG Xbox is the last console that I will collect for. Sega hasn’t been the same since.
No JSRF?
I went into this expecting to see Panzer Dragoon: Orta (one of my all time favorite games and one of the best Xbox exclusives PERIOD) make the cut, and I was not disappointed. It was also nice to see a deep cut like GunValkyrie make the list too! That game is so good once you adjust to its odd control scheme! I was so glad that one and Orta were made backwards compatible with later Xbox consoles!
I'm Sega Lord X and I WILLLLLLLLLLLLL catch you next time
Gadget! NEXT TIME!!! 🤣
Jet Set Radio Future is an incredible game, a shame it's not on Xbox Backwards Compatible due to the music, I also loved House of the Dead 3
Some cracking sega games on the og xbox . Outrun deff one of my all-time fav racing games

I have most of these games!!!! The og Xbox has some of the best Sega games of all time!!!
Amazing episode. Can you do first party Sony games on PS1 or PS2 next?
I loved the 2 Headhunter games but I played them on the PS2. Still good to hear the sequel get mentioned (although disappointed it was only a honorable mention considering the duds in the #7, 9 & 10 spots). The series feels completely forgotten.
Loved this episode because I never had an Xbox but I love seeing Sega get so much love! Awesome video X!
Otogi's gameplay is the PS2 Shinobi we *didn't* get. NFL 2K5 was indeed outstanding and it was such a very well made package.
I love Outrun 2. JSRF should’ve been on the list.

Amazing video as always!!! Best retro game channel on TH-cam
No JSRF and no Sega GT, that's confusing for me. Spikeout Battlestreet I can highly recommend for everyone who wants a Streets of Rage in 3D. Its like Fighting Force, but so much better.
A few years ago I picked up Otogi and Otogi 2, amazing games. They're beautiful and the controls are tight!
Controls are terrible in the first game where the HORIZONTAL and vertical axis are inverted and there's no way to change it. It always drove me mad
Outrun II is pretty bad ass, I played the hell out of it on my pc
