    You can also manage to make Turkey into a super power but the mechanics behing forming the Ottoman Empire are completely different and it usually takes me longer than by 1940. Communist Turkey is also a lot of fun but you need to focus on the Balkans mainly. The only non-super power iteration of Turkey is the Democratic path as usual... Great video as always!

    • @MachiavellianStrategist
      @MachiavellianStrategist  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you! Yes, I tried the Ottoman Empire path first, and there is a lot of potential there too, but it takes way longer.
      The main advantage of the Ottoman Empire (in addition to being cool) is that you get more manpower from the new cores.
      I think I will make a guide for reforming the Ottoman Empire too in future!

    Great video, I can see the improvements here and there from the last one
    Haven't watched the unedited version, but maybe you could allocate some time to do railways, from Ankara to İstanbul and İzmir there are bottlenecks which you could improve for the war with Greece and Bulgaria. Connecting the Edirne railway to supply depot is something missed a lot, there is a level 2 railway in the state but the connection is made with rivers, limiting it to a level 1 and creating bottleneck on the Bulgarian border as well as putting the pressure on the naval base, also connecting with Thessaloniki is nice as well if you open a front with Yugoslavia, if not, it eases the burden on convoys towards the naval invasion
    Also especially against Iran you could consider connecting railways between Malatya and Mosul, otherwise you suffer tremendous lack of supplies. Sucks for Euphrates I guess lol it doesn't count for level 1 railway. For pushing in Iran, Baghdad-Hamadan connection is nice as well. I hate the railway system's micromanagement but all these connections shouldn't take more than a month to construct
    If you find yourself in extra stability (kurdish decisions success + republicanism wink wink), you can commandeer civilian trains and sell them on the market, 15 of them is 2100 economic capacity, 2625 with high prices. Every bit helps, right? Sell the interwar planes and the starting tanks as well who likes T-26s anyway lmao

      @MachiavellianStrategist  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MacronsKitten oh I see what you mean!
      I usually prefer to have fewer puppets when possible, as it makes it a bit easier to manage them.
      For example, I call Yugoslavia to war, and I import several resources from them. Despite that, I can easily keep their autonomy at minimum by buildings factories and infrastructures in their provinces. It would be a bit more annoying to have to do it from multiple puppets.
      It's really just a matter of preferences, what you suggested would probably grant slightly better yields at the cost of some extra micromanagement!

      If you purchased the right membership (it is the tier 2 membership, called "colonel") you should be able to access a Google drive folder with all of my country guides. The link is in the description of your membership.
      If you did everything correctly and you still cannot find the link, let me know and I will try to help!

      @ettoredemaio1830 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MachiavellianStrategist thanks for the answer. I went for the Tier 1, but can consider upscaling, hopefully I need to pay only the difference? Let's see what youtube asks for it. What matters is that you put in the GDrive the spreadsheets, I mean something written like a step-by-step guide. that works a bit better for me, videos are great to see the action, but evil is in the details which usually can't go in a "consumable" video. Can you confirm is that kind of spreadsheet we are talking about? (I mean "written document", doesnt matter the format as long as they have something like "what" and "when" columns, and are detailed enough)

    • @MachiavellianStrategist
      @MachiavellianStrategist  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi there, sorry for the late reply! For some mysterious reason TH-cam had tagged your comment as "needing approval to be published", so I missed it.
      Should you decide to upgrade, you will only have to pay for the difference! And you will immediately gain access to all spreadsheets (the link to my google drive folder appears in the instructions for your perks, mind that it changes periodically, so from time to time you will have to get the new one!).
      I'll try to explain how the spreadsheets are designed the best I can:
      They are made as checklists, in which you find a column with "actions" one with "researches" one with "focuses".
      Researches and focuses are the same as in the description of the video, but they are better divided to chronologically match with each other.
      The column for actions is the real exclusive for members, it is a list of everything I do in my guide, in chronological order.
      For example, the first steps are the initial setup, so it might be something like:
      - Build full infra + civs in ... ... ...
      - Production to: Infantry equip 10, support equip 5, artillery 3
      - Change occupation law to "local police force"
      - Initial setup done
      - Pick "Silent Workhorse" (150PP)
      - Pick "War Economy" (127PP)
      - Prepare armies to invade Greece (2 naval invasions, one in Athens area, one in Thessaloniki area)
      - Puppet Greece, justify Yugoslavia
      And so on.
      When I test an older guide to see if it still works, I always only use my spreadsheets, so everything you really need is included.
      I find them to be very convenient, but you might still have to integrate them with the video from time to time, to see how the divisions were deployed or used in detail.
      Also, please consider that older guides still have a less organized system for these "notes". I am gradually updating all of them, but I haven't finished yet.
      Please feel free to let me know if you have any further doubts or questions!@@ettoredemaio1830

    In my run through, during the peace conference after taking the UK down, GER fights my claim on Brabant to the point I have nothing left to get much of the UK/FRA navy. Is there anything to mitigate this or is it just RNG? It's amazing how much peace score you had left to take all the navies.

    • @MachiavellianStrategist
      @MachiavellianStrategist  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi!
      I would say it is mostly RNG. Claiming it in the first turn of the peace conference is the only thing that really makes a difference, since it is much more expensive to take something already claimed than to fight for a contested claim.
      That being said, neither Brabant nor the navies are really mandatory.
      All Brabant does is making the war against Germany a little easier (although, the fact that they can somehow keep their military access to Vichy France makes the encirclements there less effective).
      The additional navies are not even needed in the war against the Axis, they might be useful later in the game, should you decide to go after the USA.
      But we already have a good navy, and we are going to take the German and Italian ones too.

    • @garyjohnson3252
      @garyjohnson3252 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MachiavellianStrategist Gotcha. I sort of figured that. There will be more run-throughs for me with Turkey, that's for sure. The variations are what make guides like yours really cool. In other words, you teach the overall strategy, but since every game with HOI4 is usually a bit different, you also talk about "what ifs" and core goals. For example, as you say is more common, I got Bulgaria, but not Hungary, who joined the Axis. In this run-through, I'm going for Hungary to kick off my Axis war and realizing whether or not I do that, Hungary is much more of a problem than BUL, because I'm basically short one army than you going after ITA. But that's the challenge for me, which makes this game and your strategies so much fun for me. I realize the Navy isn't too important, especially if you can get a few carriers (which I did), but really, the AI is so bad with their Navy that even death stacks still work, lol. After 20 years of developing this series, Paradox still hasn't figured out how to make the AI even marginally effective in managing/fighting its navy. Thanks man!

    • @MachiavellianStrategist
      @MachiavellianStrategist  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@garyjohnson3252 thank you again for you comment! Feedback like yours is really important to me!
      It is true that Hungary can be an issue, since it effectively extends the front you need to cover. You can build some extra forts to help with that, and I was actually overstacking divisions in there a little bit. With our puppets it should not be too much of an issue to cover the extra front! But let me know how it goes, I'm very curious!
      I'm also curious as to when and why Hungary joined the Axis, did it happen after reloading the game?
      As for the navy, yes the AI absolutely sucks at it, but so do I hahah

      Unfortunately not, the Ottoman Empire does not allow such early expansion. Which makes it significantly worse than fascist Turkey.
      When I made this guide I initially intended to go for the Ottoman Empire, but I then gave up and focused on the fascist path.
      However, I definitely plan to make a guide for Ottoman Turkey too in future!
