Thanks for taking the time to make and share this. Japan has been one of my favorite nations to play. I've got the DLCs up to NSB, and I'm glad you showed the additional options available through BBA (aircraft designer) and AAT. You saved me $20-40; the additional micromanaging that comes with MIO doesn't look interesting to me. With regard to reaching the Netherlands early through a naval invasion: I can't remember if the strategy I used involved invading Siam before the Dutch East Indies. I justified on DEI and dragged the Netherlands in that way. I'd plan to take DEI first. By the time DEI capitulated or I owned the westernmost port in the DEI, or both, I'd have docking rights with enough countries in between to extend my range to the Netherlands. I didn't do things much differently than you when picking which ships to use in the different regions. I found that unless I was in the Axis and at war with the Allies, beating Germany to the Netherlands tended to hamper the AI's ability to get into Belgium and then France. If I tried it again I might capitulate the Netherlands and liberate them for Germany to beat up on later, if the peace conference options allowed for it.
@@grimjaw5 you are welcome! I agree that the additional micromanagement from AAT is not worth it, I really dislike that dlc. BBA is not bad though, plane designs are great and the additional peace conference options really make the difference!

Do you mean with the naval invasion of the Netherlands? You should be able to get the naval superiority instantly, but if you don't get it right away there must be something wrong with the navy setup I believe.
@@MachiavellianStrategist My bad, I messed up my sentence :) I meant that I have naval superiority on every region but the Iberian Coast. Currently I'm trying again from scratch. My guesses on why it failed are either becasue I didn't wait for the naval invasion plan to complete, or that in my save Nationalist Spain wouldn't give me docking rights. They went non-aligned (not fascist). Either way, I am now attempting again right after puppeting siam. I'll let you know if I still have issues. Thanks for the quick reply!
@@MachiavellianStrategist I am happy to say that I succeeded taking down the Netherlands this time! I guess I waited for the invasion plan to complete and i got green sea everywhere. Another problem I had, but fixed was that some ships would repair on their own and would not help in the naval invasion. I manually stopped the repairing and it worked as it should. I'll carry on with the chinese war and may ask for your help again :)
Somehow my replies to your comments disappear haha. I'll try again: I did not do anything special, but there is a bit of RNG involved, you may get it a bit later. But do not worry as it won't affect the rest of the run. You could consider sending some planes to Italy against Ethiopia to farm a little more air exp.
I would advise against doing that as we have higher priorities for our political power early on. But if you prefer prioritizing that, you can of course. It will, however, affect the rest of the run.@@republic0_032

How do I gain military access to Germany (I don't have dlcs so docking rights isnt a thing) because it aways says they need a higher opinion of you even tho I improve relations. Also in Somalia, because my access keeps getting revoked once it changes to Italian East Afrifca. Great vid!
@@ekdum thank you! Getting military access might be difficult until you can join the Axis. So you might have to give up on the Netherlands sadly. Improve relations and guarantee independence are the only tools I can think about to improve their opinion of you.

How do you beat china so quickly??? I followed everything you did besides the shanghai naval invasion. You make it look so effortless while Im struggling to break through my lines and my troops have terrible terrible attrition. Is it very necessary to do that Shanghai invasion?
Hi! The second naval invasion is not absolutely necessary, but it helps scattering their divisions around a bit more. I would say the first naval invasion and the big encirclement in Beijing are the key moments in the war against China. If you did that successfully, and if you are using my division templates and doctrines, the remaining issue is attrition. Attrition can be really really bad in China, and no matter how good our divisions, you can't push without supplies. The best way to manage attrition is to make sure your armies have the highest motorization priority and that you always plan every push with a supply hub as goal, and stop right after taking it. @@MachiavellianStrategist thanks, its 1940 and I have good divisions + maxed out doctrines but I just cant seem to shake off the attrition even with infrastructure and micros. Im going to reset tomorrow and try the beijing encirclement, however when I tried the first naval invasion it was hard to push to upper china (towards beijing) and instead I had to use my armies to push through beijing and meet up with the naval invaders. It was kind of hard to make my naval invading army push forward and I almost thought I was going to lose them. But thinking back now I think my problem was that I failed to take the city/port (quadong I forgot how to spell it) with the initial invasion.
Oh yes, taking the port is fundamental for your supplies. Harbors in naval invasions and then supply hubs (and connecting railways) with each push are the way to go. The encirclement in Beijing destroys a good part of their army, making the rest of the war much easier. Good luck on your next try! Let me know how it goes!@@negan2128

I see your point, but I think army experience is a much more valuable currency than PP. Especially later in the game I often find myself with an abundance of PP (even with Japan's debufs), but I never really have too much army experience! I actually also like the additional daily command power from professional officer corps, since I often use commander abilities!
@@scottyg49 good question, it really depends on the situation. I would get the first additional spy through upgrades, the second additional one with illusive gentlemen if you do not need the advisors slots for more import things, otherwise by becoming spy master (when possible).
@@MachiavellianStrategist my thought was you could either get an additional advisor earlier or justify on iran or another minor nation while fighting china so you can get them when you capitulate china

@@MachiavellianStrategist I did try it out and the spy master does not work unless you have independent nations or high autonomy puppets in your faction. Otherwise it all went well besides changing concentrated for dispersed industry

I think with the new patch, you can't naval invade to the other side of the world anymore, there seems to be a limit. Also, seem like naval invasion is limit to 10 now.
Hi! I don't think the latest patch changed anything concerning our naval invasions (although I haven't played with Japan yet), what kind of limit do you mean? The naval invasion increase to 15 was obtained thanks to the first special forces doctrine for marines!
While Siam and Netherlands were easy wars I just don't understand how did you push chinese so quickly after the first naval invasion. By January 1938 you already captured two supply hubs you mentioned in the video. Meanwhile when I tried to do the same they deploy like 500 divisions immediately at Qingdao and it take me months to move even 1 tile. I can't do anything even when micromanaging, they just stack endless troops. It's halfway through 1938 in my game and I didn't even reach Jinan

I tested this run many times and I never had any issues with China (other than struggling for supplies), they have a lot of divisions but they are very weak divisions while ours are extremely good. We can also wipe out a good number of them with the encirclement in Beijing. However, someone else also posted a comment about struggling with China, so I might make a dedicated video with just the war in China. Meanwhile, are you using the same division templates and doctrines as me? Playing on regular difficulty? Did you remember to regularly activate the decision to reduce your debufs in China? @@MachiavellianStrategist Hey, thanks for answering! I restarted the campaign and watched an unedited version of your video. This time I was able to conquer China with pretty much no problems. I think in the first run I indeed missed some doctrins or I just had a very bad luck :P. Also by the time chinese war started I didn't have upgraded planes since I wasn't able to farm required 18 air points in spanish war. Second run went much smoother! How do you calculate the exact amount of factorys for every type of equipment?? I always have troubles with that part. If you could tell me the main aspects to do a correct organization I will appreciate that.
Sadly there is no easy way to do that as far as I know. Before making these guides I test the run several times, each time adjusting the production to find the perfect balance. So what you see in the videos is the result of many hours of tinkering.
Hi! So it is very important that you get green sea everywhere at the same time right when you start the invasion. - position your ships correctly - make sure the naval invasion is ready to start - pause the game and assign all ships to naval invasion support, make sure everything is green - immediately start the naval invasion and unpause the game. If your units leave the harbour in Siam it means you were successful, what happens next with the green see does not matter anymore. You can also check the unedited version to watch these steps more in detail! Let me know if you can get it to work!
@@MachiavellianStrategist hi, i had all the areas green with the game paused and the invasion was ready but it didnt work for me. And the ships also left again. Maybe i need more range on my ships
@@dogepaz5277 it should not be an issue with range if all areas look green (also, I'm only using default ships with no upgrades), you literally just need 1 second of green sea for the invasion to trigger. Try to check the arrow for the naval invasion command on your designated army, it should tell you why the invasion cannot be triggered.
It is from the Special Forces Doctrines for Marines, the very first one: "Elevate The Marine Corps" increases the naval invasion capacity by 5! (In case anyone else is struggling to find it)
Hi! The first one is the most important for the extra invasion capacity, and I would always pick it with any country that has access to marines, even if you do not plan on using them. For the rest of the tree I prefer the right side, which is more naval invasion oriented. That is because I personally would not use marines for anything but naval invasions. This, however, is a matter of preferences and it is situational. If you plan to fight more with your marines, or if you find yourself fighting in tropical terrains and jungles a lot, the left side of the tree offers some great buffs too. I can see the left side being better for smaller nations in tropical regions, which can benefit more from a small, highly specialized, army. Right side being better for larger nations, for bigger naval invasions, before switching to dedicated armored offensive divisions.
Hi, we do not need balanced fleets in this case, we just need enough range to cover all sea reagions on the way to the Netherlands. You can probably achieve the same result in other ways too, but I thought this would be the easiest to follow!
It's ready! But I'll continue this run with Japan for a full world conquest first! I've never tried one and I think this is the perfect chance! The updated Soviet guide will be up in a few weeks!

I can seem to get naval superiority on everywhere but the Iberian Coast. My divisions arrive late when I eventually do. Superb guide btw.

I tend to like Army Expansion -> State Serves the Military for Japan‘s PP debuff.
I see your point, but I think army experience is a much more valuable currency than PP. Especially later in the game I often find myself with an abundance of PP (even with Japan's debufs), but I never really have too much army experience!

Would you rather the illusive gentleman or using the spymaster for your faction to get the third spy and use the political power elsewhere

@@mimamima7428 ah! Ok, in non storico tutto è possibile hehe! Probabilmente hanno le divisioni di tutta l'alleanza a proteggere la costa. L'unico consiglio che mi sentirei di darti è di provare a invaderli da un'altra parte, dove meno se lo aspettano. Oppure di andare via terra con dei buoni tank. Nel late game puoi avere delle armored divisions davvero inarrestabili!
Comunque farò sicuramente una guida sulle invasioni navali. Ma penso che tu non stia sbagliando nulla!

Maybe you are missing the 2 producing planes? They are under the navy production.
I think with the new patch, you can't naval invade to the other side of the world anymore, there seems to be a limit. Also, seem like naval invasion is limit to 10 now.

The naval invasion increase to 15 was obtained thanks to the first special forces doctrine for marines!
While Siam and Netherlands were easy wars I just don't understand how did you push chinese so quickly after the first naval invasion. By January 1938 you already captured two supply hubs you mentioned in the video. Meanwhile when I tried to do the same they deploy like 500 divisions immediately at Qingdao and it take me months to move even 1 tile. I can't do anything even when micromanaging, they just stack endless troops. It's halfway through 1938 in my game and I didn't even reach Jinan
Hi! I tested this run many times and I never had any issues with China (other than struggling for supplies), they have a lot of divisions but they are very weak divisions while ours are extremely good. We can also wipe out a good number of them with the encirclement in Beijing.
However, someone else also posted a comment about struggling with China, so I might make a dedicated video with just the war in China.
Meanwhile, are you using the same division templates and doctrines as me? Playing on regular difficulty? Did you remember to regularly activate the decision to reduce your debufs in China?

@@MachiavellianStrategist Hey, thanks for answering! I restarted the campaign and watched an unedited version of your video. This time I was able to conquer China with pretty much no problems.
I think in the first run I indeed missed some doctrins or I just had a very bad luck :P. Also by the time chinese war started I didn't have upgraded planes since I wasn't able to farm required 18 air points in spanish war.
Second run went much smoother! Thanks for guides and keep up the good work

How do you calculate the exact amount of factorys for every type of equipment?? I always have troubles with that part. If you could tell me the main aspects to do a correct organization I will appreciate that.
Sadly there is no easy way to do that as far as I know. Before making these guides I test the run several times, each time adjusting the production to find the perfect balance.
So what you see in the videos is the result of many hours of tinkering.

When i put all ships on invasion support or what its called all my ships went towards siam. so i couldnt get green areas everywhere
Hi! So it is very important that you get green sea everywhere at the same time right when you start the invasion.
- position your ships correctly
- make sure the naval invasion is ready to start
- pause the game and assign all ships to naval invasion support, make sure everything is green
- immediately start the naval invasion and unpause the game.
If your units leave the harbour in Siam it means you were successful, what happens next with the green see does not matter anymore.

@@dogepaz5277 it should not be an issue with range if all areas look green (also, I'm only using default ships with no upgrades), you literally just need 1 second of green sea for the invasion to trigger.
Try to check the arrow for the naval invasion command on your designated army, it should tell you why the invasion cannot be triggered.
How do you have 15 naval invasion capacity? As far i know "Tip of the spear" had been changed when you recorded the video

It is from the Special Forces Doctrines for Marines, the very first one: "Elevate The Marine Corps" increases the naval invasion capacity by 5! (In case anyone else is struggling to find it)

Hi!
The first one is the most important for the extra invasion capacity, and I would always pick it with any country that has access to marines, even if you do not plan on using them.
For the rest of the tree I prefer the right side, which is more naval invasion oriented. That is because I personally would not use marines for anything but naval invasions.
This, however, is a matter of preferences and it is situational. If you plan to fight more with your marines, or if you find yourself fighting in tropical terrains and jungles a lot, the left side of the tree offers some great buffs too.
I can see the left side being better for smaller nations in tropical regions, which can benefit more from a small, highly specialized, army.
Right side being better for larger nations, for bigger naval invasions, before switching to dedicated armored offensive divisions.

Hi, we do not need balanced fleets in this case, we just need enough range to cover all sea reagions on the way to the Netherlands. You can probably achieve the same result in other ways too, but I thought this would be the easiest to follow!
