So I tried this and it was helpful. Thanks. Unfortunately it didn’t completely provide the solution for this problem, at least for me. For some reason it seems to refuse to automatically go live unless the channel’s TH-cam live dashboard is open on an active webpage on some computer somewhere. It can be on a different network but it must be open to automatically go live. I can’t figure this out. The goal here is TH-cam live streams with the push of the On Air button on the ATEM Mini Pro and nothing else, because the user of this setup has no technical knowledge and won’t be able to log in to the dashboard each time. How can we make a set it and forget it recurring live streaming setup?
I also thought this video is somewhat misleading, claiming that no computer is needed while at the same time Petra's TH-cam Studio page is up and running the whole time. 🤷🏻♂
Great tutorial. When you stream to TH-cam in the video is your ATEM connected with an Ethernet-cable to a modem or to an Ethernet-connection in the wall?
Can we get a better "quality" stream when going directly out the ATEM Mini Pro over the ethernet cable (vs sending the signal out the ATEM's USB to OBS in the computer) to youtube? I know from experience that I get a better quality stream video when going from the camera through a Camlink 4k to my computer to a live youtube stream (no Atem). I would love to get that same quality directly from the ATEM Mini Pro (without a computer). Is the RTMP-encoded H.264 live stream of the Ethernet the same quality as the USB webcam output (using OBS to encode the USB webcam output into a streamable format) from the ATEM Mini Pro?
Do You have set up titles on a computer before every stream? Or can you do it from the atem? Is a chat window available from the hdmi output monitoring on a screen?
Titles must be pre-made, but if stable can be re-used for multiple streams. The ATEM and it’s software do not provide a title generator of any kind. That is why I recommend to use a laptop for overlays.
Two questions: 1. Do you need to enter a new key from TH-cam for each stream session or is this an account based key that is good forever with the ATEM? 2. You mentioned a future video specific to Restream, but I searched and can’t find that. Can you provide a link to it? Thanks!
Hello, we record outdoors in the field (rocket launches) the only internet available is on my android phone. Will the ATEM Mini Pro connect to my Phone? Thanks
Important thing which you forgot to talk is about upload speed.. You need to have enough speed to stream in high quality.. i don't know how much bitrate is that on ATEM. Can you do the video comparison between how much bitrates take low, middle, high quality settings?
It can be indeed computer free during the stream. But you do need a computer to add your streaming key to the system. In some cases like eg YT you only need to do this ones. For FB you unfortunately need to change it every time
Great Tip! Can I schedule a stream from the TH-cam stream setup then click on the stream top left red icon. Store my stream key to the Atem mini Pro like you thought me. At the event once the time comes I can press the ON Air button at the Atem Mini Pro to go live ( no lap top on site). Thanks for your time and dedication.
@@TechCondo Great tutorial - thank you. Can you clarify the above comment about making sure TH-cam is set to automatically go live? If one were to copy and save the YT stream key into the ATEM Mini Pro like you explain, does a TH-cam channel need to have a special setting to be able to receive the livestream from the ATEM Mini Pro without a computer (obviously connected to the internet)? We have been having mixed results with this setup in a church with one camera feeding the unit, and trying to livestream to a TH-cam channel as a public video and normal streaming rates with 4-5 Mbps upload speeds. Thanks!
@@mercuryproductionsvideo On the settings for your live stream within TH-cam, one of the options on the right hand side is a toggle that will let you turn on auto-start., which means the second it has a stream feed sent to it (e.g. from your ATEM), it will then make that feed go live on TH-cam. Same with auto-stop, once you kill the feed from the ATEM, TH-cam will automatically shut down the live stream.
@@cgriesemer Thanks for your reply and direction. I am looking at setting up a livestream within TH-cam, and am not seeing the auto-start toggle on the right side of the interface - I assume this is the same screen with the TH-cam livestream key that I would copy to my ATEM mini - yes? And just to be clear, I am setting this up as a livestream and not a scheduled stream. I appreciate the discussion!
FYI...This video doesn't seem to mention this, but you have to stream Facebook live events with the ATEM mini through Google Chrome. It will not work on Safari.
Thank you for the info, Petra...and I enjoy your bits & pieces on the Atem.....but somehow I can't shake the feeling that all this information could easily be distilled into a 2 minute clip....
Johan, I understand your point, my problem with editing is not having enough “time”. I record everything in one take at the moment. Ideally I would do it LIVE but to stick to the content I decided to record it. On the bright side you see everything in real time as it unfolds. Give me some time to get my act together. I was surprised by the interests in the ATEM so I’m scrambling at the moment. ;)
I think that you have to Add a custom streaming destination to Atem mini's streaming.xml like Here to Record has shown us in his TH-cam video. Adding a multiple Custom Platforms with service names like TH-cam1 + Stream key 1, TH-cam2 + Stream key 2, TH-cam3 + Stream key 3 etc. In TH-cam Studio I have already done several Scheduled upcoming events and created those stream keys. Those I'm going to use in Atem mini. I have to start and stop streaming couple times in during event. So you still need a computer but only have to select different added service name from Atem mini under Output -> Live Stream -> Platform/Server/Stream Key -> what you have added previously to your streaming.xml before going to place where event happens. I mean that you can that way stream scheduled stream's one after another and you only have to change platform name and you are again ready to stream. Then you can just stream with one button after you have changed your "platform" name with upcoming new stream key like TH-cam2 with help of a computer. Do not own Atem mini but planning to purchase one.
First step.. get a computer.. There should have been mouse support and or a small touchscreen on the unit to input information without need of computer.
Art, are you referring to having to fill in the streamkey first? Yeah that is indeed the only thing you need a computer for. On location you don’t need it anymore for the stream
The Best VideoEver, straight, clear, clean, PERFECT!!!
Thank you soo much for these kind words! Glad it was helpful

Great tutorial, thank you! It seem that ATEM Mini Pro is the best solution for computer-free streaming.
It can be indeed computer free during the stream. But you do need a computer to add your streaming key to the system. In some cases like eg YT you only need to do this ones. For FB you unfortunately need to change it every time
@@TechCondo I mean that you are not relying on a PC + software during streaming. Dedicated hardware solutions are always more reliable.

Thx, great tutorial. After upgrade imac to Big Sur everything works fine, just like your video.
Excellent! Great to see you’ve gotten value of it. If there are any questions, we regularly have a Q&A live stream
great content. Can you share with me how to setup NDI on my android phone?
Is it possible to do this with Facebook and TH-cam at the same time?
With an in between service like restream.io yes, though not direct. That’s just 1
Hello! Thanks a lot for the video!!
Just a question : what are the key differences between using this method and make the ATEM act as a webcam ?
If it act as webcam you need a seperate computer to stream.
FYI...This video doesn't seem to mention this, but you have to stream Facebook live events with the ATEM mini through Google Chrome. It will not work on Safari.
Good to know. Thanks!
I did all this and TH-cam said we need 24 hours to verify you. After that you can go on stream instantly. Did I do it wrong?
Yes, YT delays that on purpose. When you start a new channel there is a 24 hours period you have to wait. We’ve all been there!

Is it possible to setup the software without a mini?
why does ATEM mini have a network port? apparently it's useless.
How can you enter multiple stream keys for TH-cam like event where you have a different TH-cam links for different speakers with their own topics?
I think restream will be helpful with that. I expect a video up on that topic in the next couple of days.
Thanks for the video.
Atem mini need internet to start Livestream. How to connect Atem to internet without laptop?
Via a network cable on the atem
very good tutorial....thank you
Nice video! Thanks!
best Demo. thank you
Thx
You probably have to do that via computer not android app available? And you have to bring your computer to the event.
I think that you have to Add a custom streaming destination to Atem mini's
streaming.xml like Here to Record has shown us in his TH-cam video.
Adding a multiple Custom Platforms with service names like
TH-cam1 + Stream key 1, TH-cam2 + Stream key 2, TH-cam3 + Stream key 3 etc.
In TH-cam Studio I have already done several Scheduled upcoming events and created those stream keys.
Those I'm going to use in Atem mini. I have to start and stop streaming couple times in during event.
So you still need a computer but only have to select different added service name
from Atem mini under Output -> Live Stream -> Platform/Server/Stream Key -> what you have added
previously to your streaming.xml before going to place where event happens.
I mean that you can that way stream scheduled stream's one after another and you only have to change platform name
and you are again ready to stream. Then you can just stream with one button
after you have changed your "platform" name with upcoming new stream key like TH-cam2 with help of a computer.
Do not own Atem mini but planning to purchase one.
Custom is indeed via XML. i’m still learning the system. I’m keeping the videos easy at first but before you know it I’m automating everything ;)
Hopefully, Blackmagic Design will release an Android/iOS app so that we'll never use a computer to do those things.
Totally agree with this idea, that would be amazing
Perfect
Is on your Extreme ISO this problem?: th-cam.com/video/Y1z1OnrN3so/w-d-xo.html Can you check it and record video about that?
I’ll check it coming weekend. A bit weird indeed. I’m thinking it’s project related
@MrJani0951 I can’t replicate the issue on my setup. I guess that’s a great sign.
First step.. get a computer..
There should have been mouse support and or a small touchscreen on the unit to input information without need of computer.
Indeed the atem runs best with the atem app next to it
OK lady , your title is misleading.... ATEM Mini..among other..
