Thanks for the valuable inputs, I am also having the same issue. Now I know where to look..... just wish that my cash gets filled up as fast as the cache LOL ! Thanks buddy....
This is a life saver. I’ve had it happen twice during a live event. I’ve searched the internet for quite a while looking for the solution. Then I found this video. Saving this for later reference for other volunteers.
I have had two LiveStream and I used so much information form you and they both went perfectly! That little tip about being able to stop and start a stream from the Mini Extreme was great and i have also been doing the speed test too as per your video. With all the fluff from other youtubers, your info is great, straight to the point and easy to understand. You have revived my confidence in LiveStreaming! Kudos to you mate!
Thank you Cole for the kind words! I'm glad you are finding fun in livestreaming again. Yes livestream makes you nervous, gets your heart pumping but the satisfaction from executing a perfect (or near perfect) stream is just indescribable. A bonus would be an appreciation from the client too!
Thank you very much. Knew what is cache but solving not all. Very gratefull for the ideas of how solve, again you have been a help 👍🏻. Keep up the good work.
I didn't know I could click OFF and ON AIR to make quality changes while going live. As you said, I was ending the livestream and waiting a long time for the ATEM to unfreeze. I would eventually pull its power cord to reboot it and start from scratch. Thank you.
I have an issue where I believe TH-cam is ending the livestream because the bitrate is around 100,000 and higher. I don't know why. Changing the hyperdeck high to low and standard high to low creates the same result. I think the XML file was altered. Any ideas? (I use an ATEM Extreme ISO SDI with 2 Blackmagic 4k cameras and a computer outputs.)
Nice content and thanks for an in depth explanation. I will say that MB (storage) is referred to as megabyte and Mb (speed) small letter b is referred to as megabits. You kept saying MB but I understood. Awesome video though
Hey Steph, and absolutely superb video, you answer the stack of my questions as I had this exact thing happened to me last week I didn’t know you could stop and start the stream again from the software without stopping the stream completely because I was on medium quality and I wanted to go down to low quality because we had a stream at a large funeral with 700 people attended and it was in the middle of nowhere so there goes all the data, and absolutely awesome awesome video thank you so much
One other thing I would like to add is that when the case is 100% full you can’t actually hit stop and start on the actual am at a mini software all the console, like you said in the video but you can’t do it on the software either because I actually tried to stop it on the software as well and it would not stop there either only because the case was 100% full, I think in future the trick is just a stream at the lower quality when I know a lot of people are going to come, have you thought about doing a video with quality comparisons between high medium and low quality, I would really like to see that thanks again for your awesome video this really helped me more than you would believe absolute legend
@@colestudios Hi Cole thank you for the kind words, I'm glad it helped. Yes I have actually streamed at all the resolutions (because of the various speeds I had at different venues). There is a noticeable difference between Streaming Low and Streaming Medium, but between Stream Medium and Streaming High, not that much. From where I live in (Singapore), the telco I run my 4G on gives me a minimum of about 10mb/s, I often stream at Streaming Medium for most of my wedding livestreams, which IMO is pretty good, I've had lots of good reviews from the couples' online audience on the quality. But of course if you can, just go higher (half of your upload speed) and you should be safe. Actually yes you can when it is 100% cache ... it just takes VERY long :p I've tried it during testing
We have been live streaming weekly events for the past year with no cache problems. We have in the past 4 weeks gone to hybrid so people in the building as well as streaming. and quite often have the cache going up to 65%. This does not happen in the rehearsal that we stream, before the event. I am thinking that it is peoples phones using up bandwidth that is our problem.?
THANK YOU! Finally some guidance on this issue which giving me grey hairs! I’ve been streaming with the ATEM MINI ISO without issue for 8 streams but suddenly when I pressed the on air button to stream the other day, I got the red “Cache Full” warning for the first time and it wouldn’t let me go live no matter what I tried. This was right before a major event so we had to cancel the stream and the only immediate solution for the next episode was to hook back up my original ATEM TVS rack unit to finish out the remaining streams for that series. Never had this issue with my old ATEM TVS nor my ATEM TVS HD units. What is it in the ATEM Minis that’s making this Cache Full an issue now?
Hi SOA, like I've explained in my video, when the cache is filling up, check your internet speed. I am pretty sure 99% it's a problem with your internet speed at that moment so it's not really a case of "What's wrong with the Atem Mini". the remaining 1% is likely a faulty equipment so I always bring a spare set to every job I am on.
Thanks for this video. I had this issue for the first time after several months of streaming. Now we have another tool in the toolbox. I was wondering if the setting in TH-cam regarding Latency (normal, low, and ultra-low) would have any effect on this. I noticed ours was set on low and seems like it should be normal anyway. Thanks again.
I have had cache fill up to full streaming at high quality, not hyperdeck high, on fiber optic cable, getting 900mbps upload speed. What could cause this?
Steph thanks for the video! I have noticed that when I use the Mini Extreme Pro to be used as the encoder and push the Live Stream to Boxcast to send out to FB and TH-cam for me... i tend to have latency problems. Can you explain how we can resolve major latency surges which tend to choke out my signal? BTW, i've noticed that my Cache is always full so this means that i should be bumping down my stream quality output... THANK YOU!
Thanks for the video! I had a problem streaming similar to this, but the problem was the SSD. As soon I hit “record” the talent would start talking, and their voices sounded distorted or slowed down. As soon I stopped recording, the problem went away. Do you think the problem the cache in this case? I was using a samsung T5 that always works with my extreme. Thanks for any info!
Does this issue of cache apply when using the ATEM as a webcam/input into OBS, Livestream Studio, or Zoom? Meaning when you don't use the ATEM to go live directly from the switcher?
I live stream with the ATEM Extreme ISO running through OBS and into TH-cam. I am having a regular problem with OBS not showing the cameras. I have to uninstall the ATEM software and reinstall and sometimes that helps. I have to do this about once a month. Any ideas why? Thanks!
So what if it did get to the "full" part and now it's doing nothing and won't go live? Thankfully I was doing a test and not actually streaming a real live session. I lowered the quality to low and still there has been nothing ... it won't do anything as I aim to do another test live ...
Hi Chris! It's always good to do tests before the actual event to make sure everything is working. I would say almost 90% of the time that I had cache full problems was with the internet connection at the venue. You might want to look more into that at your venue.
I felt the deep sigh at minute 8:14. That was from a real life experience. Thanks for this information.
Thanks for the valuable inputs, I am also having the same issue. Now I know where to look..... just wish that my cash gets filled up as fast as the cache LOL ! Thanks buddy....

Great video,
must click - off - lower the quality - click on air. Before it gets to full! otherwise it takes ages and the atem gets stuck 🙈

At lowest speed already! Does clicking OFF allow the cache to clear? How long before the stream is stopped? Very helpful video.
Hey thanks for watching! Clicking OFF clears the cache momentarily but if the underlying problem exists, the cache will start to fill up again.

Great information, thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching and for your kind support!
Thank you, that is very helpful. Do you know if there is any way to set the bit-rate output lower than "streaming low"?
Yes there is! You can configure it in the XML file. You can view more information here in my other tutorial: th-cam.com/video/OOb4ar09f6s/w-d-xo.html
You Explained Very well

hello bro, I have done as in this video but the full cache problem has not been resolved. Please help with another solution. Thank you bro
Does this issue of cache apply when using the ATEM as a webcam/input into OBS, Livestream Studio, or Zoom? Meaning when you don't use the ATEM to go live directly from the switcher?
Hi usually it always has got something to do with, externally, meaning the internet connection. What you use locally does not really affect the cache.
Hey, where are you? I miss your videos about livestream!
Hey Noel thanks for the support and kind words! Currently working on new videos right now, do stay tuned!
Very informative thanks 😊

Just restart ATEM and it helps. Connect all cables to your ATEM before Turning it ON.
Thank you!
Thanks a lot sir

ahhhh, my toilet cache... brilliant.
I hate when my stomach goes haywire.
muito bom
obrigado
Here, my upload speed is 2.32 Mbps 😄😄😄 .... still lower than streaming low
Should it be half of your upload or download? You say download……..one part of your video you say half of download other part you say half of upload.
Hi thanks for spotting that out! It should be half of upload speed
