I loved Jupiter's voice in the first dub, and I probably still will till the end of time, but I really don't think you could have found a more perfect fit. I was never skeptical about this dub, but my faith just keeps stacking up!
Reading these comments... I don't even know how to react. I love these voice actors, and Viz is staying true and loyal to the original version of the anime while not being slaves to it. It's admirable in my opinion. They went out of their way to buy the rights to all 200 episodes, three movies, and specials, and both re-subtitle and dub them for the fans so they could have a true English version WITH ACTORS APPROVED BY THE CREATOR HERSELF. The only thing that bothers me about the dub is that they don't say their family names before their first names like they do in Japanese culture, but that's a nitpick if anything. What else do you people want? Naoko herself approved of all of these actors. Talk about ungrateful. We now have two English dubs and a subtitled version of the original Japanese dub, and we have people who care about the show doing their best for the dub. Not to mention we have Crystal coming out, and then Kodansha reprinting the mangas. Just... what else do you people want? If anyone from Viz sees this comment, I think you and your actors are all fantastic. I'm supporting you guys every step of the way, and I'm grateful for all of the hard work you put into this dub. I'm looking forward to your dubs of the rest of the series, movies, and specials. Although, please consider making the boxart for the future DVDs and Blu-Rays more detailed and eye-catching than the ones you used for season one. They look nice, but they're kinda... boring and generic. Again, just a nitpick.
They need traffic to their insignificant social media profiles, leave those snowflakes alone. Viz did a massive job respecting the franchise, the legacy, and the history of the gold standard of shoujo anime with a five-star dub.
I think Amanda Celine Miller did a great job voicing Makoto/Sailor Jupiter. Sounds just as awesome as Susan Roman's voicing of the character years earlier.

Totally agree. I liked Susan Roman but she definitely didn't sound like a teenager, whereas Amanda has a very similar voice but is actually believable as Makoto's age. I am loving the new dub!

I'm still going to continue watching the sub. But after watching a minute of the new dub I've got to say, holy shit it is such an improvement from the old one. It's good they're taking out the censorship and the unnecessary name changes. The old voices were terrible too. One or two were decent but the rest made my ears bleed, so I ran off and his behind the sub. This was really something that just needed to be redone, and I'm glad they did. I'm still not going to watch, but if anyone I know wants to watch, I'll recommend this to them.

One thing I'm a little iffy on, though, is shortening her name. It makes sense that they wouldn't use honorifics, and I was kind of half-expecting them to use "Mako." But it makes me wonder if "Mamo-chan" is going to be shortened to "Mamo." I'm kinda hoping that they'll just dub any instances of "Mamo-chan" as "Mamoru." It also now occurs to me: how are they going to deal with Chibiusa? I hope they don't translate "Chibi" into "Mini" like Cloverway/Pioneer did. "Mini-Usa" doesn't sound too terrible (even if it doesn't sound particularly good, either). But "Sailor Mini Moon" always made me think of Mini-Me from Austin Powers. Maybe "Little"? Little Usa and Sailor Little Moon sound okay. Same number of syllables, too, so it would help with matching lip flaps. I guess we'll see!

I still find it funny how 5'6" Makoto was treated like an Amazon in the first season, both in the original and basically in every dub, only to be dwarfed by three out of the four outer senshi later.
1:26, I know that piece of food that Usagi is eating! I made that with some of my college friends, the dish in English was called Green Onion Beef Rolls, or at least that cooks version. I'm glad that I've grown and been able to spot it.
Although this is a more accurate translation and quality dub; I still prefer the original English dub (probably because it was the first I heard). I wish they used those voice actors for an uncensored Remastered dub.
I love Makoto and I like this scene. It is very cute how her relationnship begin. But to be honest, I prefer the same scene in the Crystal version. I still didn't watch Crystal excepted this scene. But in Crystal, the scene is longer, more suble to show how strong and alone Mako is. And the reaction of Mako when she realizes than Usagi believe in her, with the Mako's theme starting playing for the first time, it's simply great 🥰 Now, when I don't feel well, I watch this scene, and I always feel better after 🙂
When Usagi says "Or you can make them for me, just kidding", she almost reminds me of Mako's english voice from Kill La Kill and, no, that's not a bad thing. XD

Matthew Lorenc Can't argue there, this is the first dub that doesn't have voices that genuinely grate on my ears. Probably helps that the writing steers clear of puns that seem to plague every other sentence in both the DiC and Cloverway dubs.

Amanda Miller is so wonderful, kind and fantastic. Her voice is amazing, adorable, and badass. Meeting her was absolutely amazing. She also inspired me to do a love story featuring Makoto Kino.

Although this is a more accurate translation and quality dub; I still prefer the original English dub (probably because it was the first I heard). I wish they used those voice actors for an uncensored Remastered dub.

I love Makoto and I like this scene. It is very cute how her relationnship begin.
But to be honest, I prefer the same scene in the Crystal version. I still didn't watch Crystal excepted this scene. But in Crystal, the scene is longer, more suble to show how strong and alone Mako is. And the reaction of Mako when she realizes than Usagi believe in her, with the Mako's theme starting playing for the first time, it's simply great 🥰
Now, when I don't feel well, I watch this scene, and I always feel better after 🙂
The more I hear of Amanda C Miller, the more I like this lady's work. It's only going to be a matter of time before she breaks out in the VA world.

When Usagi says "Or you can make them for me, just kidding", she almost reminds me of Mako's english voice from Kill La Kill and, no, that's not a bad thing. XD
Matthew Lorenc Oh, I didn't figure this was actually Mako's voice actor. Just that she could probably make a good substitute if she wanted to. XD
MetroidJunkie2007 We thought so too but Stephanie is actually a very interesting choice playing as the main protagonist. It's Viz Media, they know how to make the voices and the dialog good.
Matthew Lorenc Can't argue there, this is the first dub that doesn't have voices that genuinely grate on my ears. Probably helps that the writing steers clear of puns that seem to plague every other sentence in both the DiC and Cloverway dubs.

Matthew Lorenc Yeah, I know. The only thing Cloverway actually did any better was using the original music, essentially every other aspect is just as bad as DiC.

Amanda Miller is so wonderful, kind and fantastic. Her voice is amazing, adorable, and badass. Meeting her was absolutely amazing. She also inspired me to do a love story featuring Makoto Kino.
