I’m generally more of an Omega guy than Rolex, but I’d actually go with the Air-King here. I like the slimmer case and the bracelet, and I’ve always been a sucker for the uniqueness of the green/yellow on the Rolex name and logo. I used to think the Air-King dial was too jumbled with all those numbers, but it’s grown on me.
Great comparison with great insights. Two fantastic pieces for sure. I really love the dial of the Aqua Terra. I would love it to have the same slim thickness of the Rolex. I'd also love it to have brushed centre links, and a slightly more substantial bracelet with foldover clasp including on-the-fly micro-adjustment. If I was to only have one I'd choose the AT, but I like them both.
The Omega is exceptional. However, the Rolex is just on another level. When you try these on there is no comparison. Especially when you see the Rolex face in person and that weird shine of the Air king bracelet. Air King all day. It feels like the money it costs. It just feels indestructible and all made in house by Rolex. Supreme.
Can’t compare - have not looked at the Omega - and had been on a wait list for the AK - after 8 months got the call from the AD and love the AK. Currently saving for a Speed master. Both companies make great watches - can’t go wrong with either
The Omega is half the price of the Air King. Frankly, I'm always at a loss with Omega. They look so dated. Normally their bracelets are atrocious. This bracelet isn't bad. However, it is polished in the center which is too Breitling blingy and will be horribly scratched in a month's worth of wearing. Air King is a gorgeous understated watch that can be sporty or dressy.
Although my pick is Aqua Terra, you’re right that the bracelet lets the watch down. At minute 8:00 you can easily see the difference in design/quality of the bracelets.
Both are beautiful watches. However, I would take the Air King any day. Hopefully, you don't like to refresh your collection. If you sell that AT, with luck, you will get 50%-60% of what you paid. Great video.
I’d pick rolex 9 out of 10 over an Omega. They are both legendary, both great watches, one is just worth more. I’m no space wizard but I’ll go with the one that’s worth more 🤭
I think the aqua terra has more going for it...i would chose that. The price of the AT though....I reckon omega are asking for too much for what it is ...I find the price quite off putting. I cant decide if I want an AT or a date just next...the price of the AT sticks in my craw a little...
For me it comes down to sizing. the AT41 is a bit too big for my wrist but I don't like the designs of the smaller AT's as much and they feel a bit small. Same goes for the Rolexes with Oyster Perpetual 41 feeling a bit big and clumsy yet the 36mm ones feel too small. Why they don't make 39mm is just baffling to me... especially when they used to for the OP. I'm looking more and more towards Christopher Ward, Monta and Formex as I feel the big brands just aren't listening to their customers on sizing and/or availability. And yes Omega is jacking up their prices far too much - I would say because they can get away with it because no one can walk in and buy a Rolex.
I choose the Rolex Air-King, it's a Pilot sports-watch, unique in all Rolex line up. It's the only watch in Rolex watches that shows the iconic Yellow Crown brand logo and the Green Rolex text which you always see in front of all Rolex Boutiques. The Air-King text is in Hans Wildorf's handwriting. I love Omega watches I am a fan but in this comparison I chose Rolex Air-King.
I just got the aqua terra. I opted for the Omega Milesnesse (mesh) bracelet… it adds so much to the watch. I also have the blue leather strap. Really want to buy the rubber strap next.
I'm a fan of both watches, but if I had to choose one it would be the AK. I'd say it's more unique than the AT, and wears much better. I'm also more of a fan of the brushed finish compared to the more flashy AT.
That is a close one. I personally prefer the Aqua Terra. Compared to that black bay 41, it wears smaller and has elements that make the watch more interesting. You really can't go wrong with either.
I appreciate the content and I've owned both of these watches, let's put it this way, the Aqua Terra is long gone. Two different wearing experiences, one wears elegantly and one wears clunky. They're both nice but one is more refined and you can't appreciate that until you've owned and worn them day-to-day. Cheers
Great video, I would like someone to go more in-depth on the movements of each watch, having a transparent back is one up for the Omega, the real kicker for me is how Rolex let the aftermarket get so out of hand as to affect their sales. The hands on the sea king attract my attention more than the Aqua terra. But if i walk into a store and can not purchase one then it is of no use to me.
I’ve wanted that exact aqua tera for a while but I have to admit unfortunately the air king looks cleaner. Omega needs a thinner case and like you said a better flow into the bracelet imo. Rolex wears better
I had a submariner. Sure, the bracelet is great and the glide lock is one of the best but seriously, Rolex bracelets aren’t that good. Because of the large links they don’t articulate as well so don’t conform to the wrist as well as their jubilee or other bracelets from other brands with shorter links like the new speedy bracelet. Lack of lateral flex does give the watch a feeling of robustness but again, it doesn’t translate to comfort. Before anyone says I’m a omega fanboy- I am- bit I’m not saying the AT bracelet is better but I think that’s mainly due to the clasp and the polished center links. I think reviewers and enthusiasts alike have lost all objectivity with these brands. There’s a lot of showboating, arrogance, idolization, and greed. Especially with Rolex which has managed to create an impressive market based solely on reputation. Omega seems stuck in a never ending cycle of new releases that dilute their brand image in terms of luxury. But if you objectively compare watch by watch it’s impossible to justify the price differences in some models like the submariner and the pro300. In any case, good to hear your comments. I enjoy your content. P.s. forgive all my grammatical mistakes. I wrote this comment over an hours in the few moments I was able to and don’t feel like revising it 🤣
Air King all day. The AT has too many cons. Like double AR Coating smudge reflection issue, or bad lume at night, being too dressy for a sports watch and too sporty for a dress watch. And the overall shape of the head to bracelet is just off. And that weird shaped crown with no guard.
Good video and I'd like to add something extra I you don't mind....theirs TONS of review and comparison videos just like this all over TH-cam, but I've yet to find one when the guy shoots the film outside...I can't stress enough how much of a difference national sunlight makes when your showing off a product...I'm not trying to be a troll and I hope you take my criticism in the vein that i was attempting to hit.
The AT is a superior watch, period. The movement 8900 is superior, the dial is superior and not printed, the caseback is superior and the case overall is also superior. AK has even the oyster bracelet which, personally speaking, has bothered me as is featured on every model R produce.
Honestly the AK is ugly. No comparison with the AT, that I owe. I also have a Submariner, that I love it. If One day I will decide to replace the AT with a Rolex I will go with the Milgauss in blue dial.
I'm generally an Omega fan but I'm afraid that AT looks cheap against the AK. Might as well buy a Chris Ward. It'd certainly be slimmer. I think this comparison shows not how good Rolex are, but rather how lazy Omega are.
The Omega bracelet is way more elegant than the oyster bracelet. The Rolex with its mercedes-style hands and overall looks outdated and too 80's..meh..
I really can’t understand why people can’t see what I see!,,, Yes the omega ( all Omega watches) has a very good movement, but that’s it🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️, Miserable, dated, and frankly boring. Just my opinion of course 🤷🏻♂️
Got that same Aquaterra. It’s my everyday watch. Just lovely! I actually like the bracelet, it fits perfectly on my wrist.
Mine also fits perfectly, however, I know others may have a problem finding a good fit due to a lack of micro adjustment.
The Air King is definitely a unique piece.
I'm not a Rolex man... but there is just SOMETHING about the new Air King! 👍
Luckily I have them both. Love them both also.
I really hope they improve on the Aqua Terra bracelet, it deserves one.
Rolex day in, day out. Love the new updated AirKing.
Supreme.
Both are great watches. But the AK does it for me.
omega easily wins here with every little factor other than thickness which i could live with, its an amazing piece.
Can't go wrong with the Aqua Terra.
Yeah - I couldnt decide also and bought both - Love them with the rubber bracelets also!
Omega for me. Nice video.
Thank you! Appreciate the support 👍
Fantastic comparison! I'm leaning more towards the Aqua Terra.
Thanks! 👍
126900Air-King👍❤
I would prefer the Air-King.
Airking all day
My new air king will be delivered today!!
Thats super exciting! Enjoy it!
Can’t compare - have not looked at the Omega - and had been on a wait list for the AK - after 8 months got the call from the AD and love the AK. Currently saving for a Speed master. Both companies make great watches - can’t go wrong with either
Both are amazing watches and I'm sure anyone would be happy with either, I just liked them both so much I had to get both.
8 MONTHS just for an Air-King?? 🤭
Two fantastic watch, but the Air-King is SUPERLATIVE, and I want it! 🔝😉
Good 👍🏻 comparison, but for me it’s the AK. I just got it 2 months ago and couldn’t be happier with my second Rolex & I do have an Omega! 😉
Air King for me...
I love my AT. Had it on my wrist for 2 years now. I can wear it for any occasion and it looks very elegant.
The Omega is half the price of the Air King. Frankly, I'm always at a loss with Omega. They look so dated. Normally their bracelets are atrocious. This bracelet isn't bad. The Rolex Airking I have both the 116900 and the 126900 both are lovely watches especially on the wrist
Both are beautiful watches. However, I would take the Air King any day. Hopefully, you don't like to refresh your collection. If you sell that AT, with luck, you will get 50%-60% of what you paid. Great video.
Have no fear, both will be staying in the collection.
Between these 2 I would pick the AT
I’d pick rolex 9 out of 10 over an Omega. They are both legendary, both great watches, one is just worth more. I’m no space wizard but I’ll go with the one that’s worth more 🤭
go play the stock and index fund market and leave watches for us actual watch enthusiasts. Thanks.
@@mattlatorra264 yea sure because “enthusiast” don’t sell their watches right. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
For me its the Omega case and Dial, with the Rolex bracelet.
I think the aqua terra has more going for it...i would chose that. The price of the AT though....I reckon omega are asking for too much for what it is ...I find the price quite off putting. I cant decide if I want an AT or a date just next...the price of the AT sticks in my craw a little...

I think comparing the DJ would have been better…the AirKing is more “sporty”, less dressy where as the AT is better balanced
If I ever get a DJ in the future I'll definitely compare it to the Aqua Terra.
i have the last gene AT with brush center link bracelet. Love it
Have the AK and have a Seamaster 300.Would love to get a Aquaterra but alittle different maybe a green dial or a small second.
I choose the Rolex Air-King, it's a Pilot sports-watch, unique in all Rolex line up. AT - no contest between these two!
Another great comparison! I like that classic black with the hint of green!
The touch of color really makes a difference!
I just got the aqua terra. I opted for the Omega Milesnesse (mesh) bracelet… it adds so much to the watch. I also have the blue leather strap. Really want to buy the rubber strap next.
Aqua Terra. Aside from the much sharper dial features, the Omega twisted lugs make the blocky lugs on the Rolex like very TAG-like.
I'm a fan of both watches, but if I had to choose one it would be the AK. I'd say it's more unique than the AT, and wears much better. I'm also more of a fan of the brushed finish compared to the more flashy AT.
The brushed finish on the Air King is definitely better for hiding scratches.
I love my Airking. Stunning
AK, Aqua terra is a little big for my opinion. Love the green crown on the Rolex.
It’s not green…
At list price the Rolex is the better option..but the AT isn't far behind
decision is not difficult , the Omega is available at the AD while the Rolex is not. So, which one do you chose .....
It is truely an unfortunate situation, luckily I was able to get an Air King after a long wait.
The Aqua Terra wins for me, but do you think that it’s better than the black bay 41?
That is a close one. I personally prefer the Aqua Terra. Compared to that black bay 41, it wears smaller and has elements that make the watch more interesting. You really can't go wrong with either.

The Aqua Terra does feel clunky. Perhaps a more balanced bracelet would remedy some of the issues.
i have both like both of them

If ud compare old air king and AT, then id say AT. But with new air king, theres no competition. Of course this is if we r comparing msrp pricing too.

Omega every time.
They are not comparable air king all day Rolex is king 👑
Sorry forgot to say that the brazalette of the AT is not so good as the AK
Omega
The AT is a superior watch, period. The movement 8900 is superior, the dial is superior and not printed, the caseback is superior and the case overall is also superior. AK has even the oyster bracelet which, personally speaking, has bothered me as is featured on every model R produce.
Had them both, AK is more sporty and basic. AT is better with leather strap
AIR KING ALL DAY EVERYDAY AND TWICE ON SUNDAY!!!!!
I disagree on the bracelet. The Omega looks more refined.
nice comparison
Thank you! Which one do you prefer?
@@welcomewrist I'd take the Air-King because it's the only Rolex i find interesting
Rolex everyday far superior
Doesn’t have to be one over the other, can be both :-)
Absolutely true. I don't see any of these leaving my collection.
Rol win!!!!
You forgot the most important part price
Apologies, the Aqua Terra has a current RRP of $9375, and the Air King has a current RRP of $10500.
@@welcomewrist around the same, cheers Graham
Rolex is the king you never lose your investment

AK for sure, the Omega is for those who settle because they can’t get a Rolex!
Omg..you actually believe your own crap???😂
And for sure you cannot get either of them.
The Omega bracelet is way more elegant than the oyster bracelet. The Rolex with its mercedes-style hands and overall looks outdated and too 80's..meh..
Aqua Terra looks far better! Rolex looks boring, it's just branding
Why don’t you just get a Bulova instead of an Omega. It’s just Branding right?
I really can’t understand why people can’t see what I see!,,,
Yes the omega ( all Omega watches) has a very good movement, but that’s it🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️,
Miserable, dated, and frankly boring.
Just my opinion of course 🤷🏻♂️
