I’ve owned them all from Omega Speedmasters to Patek & even Richard Mille and I’m telling you the Air-King is an awesome daily wearer. No date so no need to keep on a winder, a splash of color and just enough lineage to not be mistaken for anything other than Rolex. I actually prefer the former ref. 119600 as it’s a bit thicker yet embodies a more graceful case profile, but either Air-King will fit the bill ✈️
Update: was able to flip my 119600 for the new 129600 and must say I’ve changed my mind as the sportier case with crown guards and shear flanks is an improvement. The 70-hr power reserve & more secure clasp is icing on the proverbial cake ✈️

The Air-King is for me the watch to have which is why I bought it and proudly wear it, a great watch indeed.
I love the new Airking , It’s a great daily wearer , I like that it goes unnoticed & is not too stand out bling , plus it doesn’t scream out “Rob me” while wearing it in public like the gmt & submariner models

Aviation is orchestrated by the minute. This is why the Air King is centered around minutes as opposed to hours.
The new AirKing is absolutely gorgeous. I bought one this past weekend. You are just regurgitating what other people are saying. TH-camrs literally saying word for word about the AirKing, "the odd one out. the ugly duckling. what's it's purpose?" 🙄🙄🙄
The AirKing, purpose, look gorgeous and tell the time with essence of an era where pilots needed watches. 😆
Great review. Thank you. Wonderful watches, I own one of the new AirKing, and I own a GMT (the Root Beer), I love both, the AK is probably one of my favorite, as it's a bit "weird" and different.
I personally prefer the Batgirl, but the Air King is still such a cool watch.
I have the new Air King and looking to add the Batgirl. Two contrasting watches that will be great wearing options.

Great review. Very meticulous and to the point. I am waitlisted for both these pieces and should receive the Airking this year and the Batman on Oyster in 2024. I am somehow more thrilled at the prospect of the Airking than the Batman. But perhaps that's because I already own the Pepsi on jubilee. Anyway the Airking seems extremely intriguing because of its unique design and because it goes unnoticed by the majority.
I own the BLNR on Jubilee and will be taking delivery of the new Air King on Monday. I am way more excited about the Air King than I thought I would be...something about the quirky design makes it feel very special to me and I like that it is a watch that won't be seen often "in the wild"

I've never seen anyone else wearing the AK.... It's the watch that gets to most attention when I have mine on.

Every one has a phone so who needs a GMT just look at your phone for date and time change . Air King is more smooth stylish
Great review... Both are beautiful time pieces. I' was lucky enough to get the AK 129600 in August 2023 (was on the waiting list fo 4 months). So comfortable on the wrist and so different from the "usual" Rolex sports / utility range. This is the only watch in my collection without the date (it's my first Rolex)...She will be passed on to my grandaughter who was born in 2023 :-)
I own this new AK model.... Its fits perfectly into my collection. Simple 3 hand wind and wear. Much more interesting then the standard explorer 1. I don't like the maxicase style of the new GMT masters. Much prefer the 5 digit versions.

Ahh that's true, even though the submariner got a new case with thinner lugs, the GMT master 2s are still using the maxi case with the thicker lugs, huh? Hmm didn't even think of that 🤔. Good observation!
The Air King dial is just a bit busy for my personal taste but love the green Rolex and third hand

Great review thanks! The wrist shot comparison highlights the GMT in its current guise looking like a gaudy Christmas tree decoration on the wrist. The Air King looks like a classic flieger timepiece. A tool watch. The Air King all the way for me.
The giant hours on gmt bezel, aggressive bezel edge, cyclops, polished jubilee… it is sensory overload for me. The air king is very cool. Only omission is not luming minute markers. Green accents are great. Would look great on green rubber

I have the 126900 Airking and Love it I did have the 116900 Airking I sold it and then regretted selling it. I had a 41 mm Sub sold it as I found it boring also to many fakes around which put me of the submariner
I like the AK more than the GMT. The 126900 is truly a beautiful watch. Perfect for daily wear. 99.99% of the people wearing a GMT doesn’t even know what the GMT function does.
I don’t like the batgirl, I would definitely have the Airking love the way it looks

I own the AK 126900 and then I own a black Submariner Date. I love the air king for simple daily wear.

I think it mostly depends on where you live, but given that it's prodominantly brushed and relatively low-key in terms of Rolex, i'd say it's safer than their other offerings.
