I already have an SMP 300, so I want an Aquaterra as my dressier watch now. That's why I'll opt for the full-polish of the Shades line. Also, the 8800 movement's quick-set date is welcome in a watch I won't be wearing every day.
@@NicolasMiari They will make a great pair!
Two absolutely prime pieces
I see what you did there
What a combo!
It was meant to be!
Bulova has to know it is missing out on a huge market by not releasing a 40ish mm version.. it has to be in the works.
I agree
Idk why ppl gives so many crap on this bracelet, I have one exactly like this, and I have other watches like Datejust 41 on the oyster bracelet, I honestly think that they are just alike, but on the oyster bracelet no one gives crap about it.
Heaver than a Rolex submariner and no tfit
too think and No real good micro quick adjust . is a deal breaker for me
These are definitely the major issues for this Aqua Terra.
I’ve got the blue 41mm and have the same gripes. Considering selling it and getting the globemaster but at the same time, it’s my first luxury watch and still love it. Might just keep it forever
This Aqua Terra was also my first luxury watch, so I know how you feel.
My dear man, switch to a 38 and all your gripes will disappear. I have absolutely none of the issues you describe with the 38 on my 16.75inch wrist. The 41 is not appropriately sized to your wrist.
I have been considering the 38 a lot recently. Hopefully Omega also adds the new bracelet extension to the other options.
Sell this and buy the 38mm version.
I've been thinking about grabbing a 38mm Aqua Terra. I'll wait and see if Omega decides to add the new micro extension to the other Aqua Terra options.
I bought this watch in 2023 as my first luxury watch. It’s a beautiful watch but I found it uncomfortable due to bracelet. No Tfit or glide lock. It was a little too heavy. I changed it with a Artem strap and it was much lighter. For that kind of money Omega should invest on its bracelet. I work outdoors and wrist size changes throughout the day
@@JuanSegarra-td6yr A better bracelet is much needed. I also find it wears better on a strap.
Do you shave your arms?
@@PaulyP_13 No, I don't have much hair on my arms thanks to genetics.
Depends which of the 100 odd variants you choose. That’s the problem in a nutshell - there almost more ATs than Rolex entire catalogue, let alone how many speedmaster variants, etc. That’s why they will never be iconic, other than the moonwatch. If they trimed it down to black model to start with, put a slimmer movement in it (if need be, ditch coaxial, make a METAs ETA) and rethought the bracelet, they would be on the right track.
@@mkyhou1160Good point. Sometimes too many choices makes it harder to make a decision.
Very thoughtful and honest summary, WW. The height of the 41mm is fine for me. As you note, the steel bracelet is not good enough at this price point. I like the low profile of the butterfly, but the bracelet itself is flimsy and too light. Looking back in hindsight, the only watch I’d realistically consider as a replacement is the Rolex Explorer I. And that lacks a date and open case back. AT remains a fantastic choice - with some negatives.
@@DudeEsq The Aqua Terra is still a great timepiece, and it's unique look and specifications help to offset it's downfalls for me.
the secondary market price is still the same. MSRP doesn't matter
These are also the two issues that have kept me from getting this watch: the bracelet and the thickness. But now of course there is the new 38 mm green dial Aqua Terra 🤔
@@andersmarkandersen6497 it's very tempting
An AT in 38mm would fit your wrist much better than the 41. I have a roughly similar wrist size as you and wore a 3rd gen AT in 38.5mm for many years as my daily - which was dress shirts with a sportcoat on weekdays and I never had cuff issues.
@@SonBob-pm1zk I'm thinking about adding the 38mm, but I'm not sure how I feel about having two Aqua Terra in the collection just yet.
That green dial on the IWC is to die for. 😮 i wish it came with a no-date option tho
Definitely right about the bracelet. I also prefer the newer president style links, but it still needs a more refined extension because it leave an ugly gap, like how they fixed the Speedmaster extension.
@@danielwalt3677 Yes, I'm surprised Omega didn't learn from that.
Your problem with the sleeve is because the watch head is a bit big on your wrist (more space consumption), my wrist is 17cm and i easily fit my older 38.5 (yep same 13mm thick). Omega AT and Grand Seiko are pretty thick due to the index ring, the wall is taller than a lot or other brands (it creates more depth to the dial), if they do the same like other brands and have closed case back, they can easily cut down 2mm.
@@samtran5095 I'm considering getting the 38mm Aqua Terra, but with a different dial (to justify having two Aqua Terra).
We can say this about all our watches. You have a great watch. The brands always keep improving and innovating their models. Seems that you’re not really a flipper owing this for 5 years, so keep enjoying.
@@stevem863 This is true. I still love my Aqua Terra 👍
Rolex decent and evolute their watches smartly, Rolex don't do these childish things like 007 bond and colourful maps, this is why Rolex resell for double price while Omega resells for half price.
I apologize for my stuffy and nasally voice, I've been recovering from the flu.
You're soiling it with your nonsense monarchy comparison, which disgusts any person with a brain
I own both. In the end, the batgirl gets more wrist time as I seem to like it more. Personal preference I guess.
They all look quite same same
Great unboxing!
@@pearlflubber thank you!
You are missing vintage.
how much is cost?
@@ziyovuddinturdialiev8503 it will be slightly different depending where you live, but in Australia it's $9800 AUD
I recently bought Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Waldenburgerbahn limited edition. I am facing a lil problem with it. I feel lil bit of a resistance while trying to wind the watch. Is it normal for a watch like this?
If it's completely wound, you may find more resistance. Generally, winding a watch will have some level of resistance, but there shouldn't be so much that it makes it difficult to turn the crown.
Why didn't you buy it new? More fun unboxing.
😡😡😡This is all crap by being plagiarism. Those are copy of Sartory Billard watches. A French independent watch brand that created the exact same designs and dials way earlier. This is not watchmaking. This is stealing. Everybody involved in the making of these watches or their promotion should be ashamed.
It’s not a copy. There’s tonnes of watches that have a similar design to Sartory.
I always wanted this watch before it was discontinued but never got around to buying it. Just this week I found a gently worn one for sale and snatched it up. Cant be happier. If anything I think this model is superior to the current black dial version as it’s cleaner and more like the monochrome BB41. However the current BB36 in blue looks amazing on the jubilee.
Which bezel mk version is this? Amazing Review. Thanks
@@alecjac mk 3
I was about to buy this one second hand, but then saw the 6 is cut in half on the bezel... I can't unsee it now.
Have one of these for sale only wore it for 2 months and been in the box for the last 3 years excellent condition just a few scuffs on the bracelet Black bay 36 79500
Still available?
Don’t like gold?
Gold has never really attracted me, and I personally don't wear any gold jewellery, so I stick with steel.
I like this a lot not only is it way less money than the Rolex day-date if you really don’t want gold or platinum this is great not that I could afford gold or platinum.
I guess seiko 5 wins haha why similar movements of automatic but super affordable compare to rolex which is very expensive. But almost the same accuracy only brand name. Seiko Wins
You never said anything about the quality of the bracelet, does it feel solid or not?
Bracelet is solid and is quite nice considering the price.
I was not planning to buy new watch in the near future. Looks like that's not going to happen 😅
Superb breakdown of the details of this watch! Thank you for the video as I hope to purchase soon.
First I seen of this release was the salmon dial and I thought it was a bit of a rare L from Zelos but in aventurine it really is a stunning piece. Should have a Milanese bracelet option.
do not understand why the AT is so thick.... should be 2mm thinner and it would so much better....still a boring watch though. Good video though... not too thick and certainly not boring!
The Omega is exceptional. However, the Rolex is just on another level. When you try these on there is no comparison. Especially when you see the Rolex face in person and that weird shine of the Air king bracelet. Air King all day. It feels like the money it costs. It just feels indestructible and all made in house by Rolex. Supreme.
Tempted to pick this one up, I prefer it over the old nova.
Typically not a fan of aventurine, but that dial is insane.
Looks GREAT! Nice video also, so many useful details :D
I appreciate it!
It's a pretty thing but yes, I like to be able to read the time on my watches.
👍🏻
👍
