How to replace the ABS module on a 2000 Audi B5 S4 the easy way
The process to replace the ABS module on a B5 S4 can be time consuming if you remove the brake lines and have to bleed the system. The fastest and easiest way to replace the module is to loosen the bracket that holds the module to chases and move the bracket to the side and then you can remove the module from the valve block. Most of the time you have to code the module and perform a basic settings of the steering angle sensor but this was a used module so I did not have to. Nice... I have the question, when you close the new module, no need to insert a gasket? Is it enough to close it with its screws and everything is fine? I have the same problem on my Audi A4 B6 where the ABS and ESP warning lights come on and this would be an optimal solution. Thanks in advance...

Question.. Did you have the solid ABS light with the blinking BRAKE light constantly on, prior to fixing this issue?

    • @GermanEliteTuning
      @GermanEliteTuning  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes thats what was happening and the abs system did not operate. I was also not able to access the abs module with vcds and there was a fault in the ECU for rough road condition.

Maybe you could shed some light on my issue. 01 B5 a4 1.8t with s4 front spindle and brake upgrade, rear 300mm upgrade, front b5 s4 abs sensors. Second I went with this set up 7 yrs ago, lol, I had abs/brake light on. Before this all was well. Any idea if I can fix this in vcds?
I bought this from Audi S4 parts. As you might know A4 abs sensors are pushing while s4 are Bolt in. Phil said I can use S4 bolt in style because they are the same. maybe he was wrong?

What faults do you have in the abs module. You may need to swap in an s4 abs module if the signal to the wheel speed sensors is different but changing the coding in the abs module might take care of it also.

@@GermanEliteTuning the car is down for repair and the battery has been disconnected for a while. Not sure if I can still check codes. I know I tried getting into the ABS module before and I could not communicate. I guess I got to do some searching on people that have done to swap to see if they have the same problem. I figured it was worth a shot to ask. The ABS was working fine before I did the swap. I did check part numbers before for the ABS module A4 vs. S4 and they were different. So mechanically it's the same it's just the module I would have to swap? all the wiring to the same? I dont have a esp button in my 01 a4 like my girls 01 s4 has.
      Lkqonline? For the part?

2011 Audi A4 ABS module has lost communication with the car. I have a used work in working order but it will need to be coded. The stock ones doesn't work and has my car in limp mode and disabled a ton of things. Sometimes you'll hear the stock one that's faulty clicking as if it's trying to work. Any ideas from anyone on what could be going on or can someone point me in the direction on how to code the new one so I can install it. Thanks in advance.

Do you have to bleed the system after that ?

No you don’t as long as you don’t remove any of the lines.

Hi. Could you please share the exact codes you had before replacement.
I have VW B5.5 and had following codes :
    Address 01 : Engine
18014 - Rough Road/Engine Torque Signal from ABS
    P1606 - 35-00 - Electrical Malfunction
    Address 03 : ABS Brakes
65535 - Internal Control Module Memory Error
    00-10 - - - Intermittent

I sets a rough road fault in the ecm and it wont allow communication to the abs module. I have seen some cars with solenoid fautls but thats not as common.
