Growing up, we had a pastor that used to tell us that he didn’t care if we came to church in pajamas as long as we came. I was always taught that the clothes you wear aren’t important - what matter is how you live your life and what’s in your heart.

Everyone’s situation is different, but you will find many who make an extra effort to impress, seduce, attract, and attempt to draw attention to themselves with their outward man. Because eventhough a person initially goes to church wearing pajamas, as he grows deeper in relationship with Christ, his outward appearance will reflect it as well. Pretty soon he'll be wearing nice and proper clothing to church and it won't be for the sake of wearing it only :)
That's an inaccurate extreme. The Bible addresses clothing and physical acts matter, we have a body, not all heart. He was taking that verse out of context
Loved this! I think it's very important for us all to help each other stay pure, physically, mentally, emotionally etc. That doesn't mean where a moo moo but like you said "am I wearing this to get people to drool lol or b/c it just makes Christ look good.?"
Thank you for this speech! Too often, I have seen church people who were picky about what they (and others) wore, but showed no discretion and no Christian love in (for example) how they viewed people of other races, other nationalities, etc.

I'm no expert on the topic but I think that one thing that we all forget when it comes to discussing this topic is the first commandments, love God, and love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus never turned anyone away. He never told someone that they were too sinful to come to Him. Therefore, it is an utter sin for us as Christians to turn away from them or to show hatred towards them or to judge them. The bottom line is that if we are not fully loving people like Jesus loves them, then we are doing something wrong.

But he also told the adulterous woman (after being merciful to her) to go and sin no more. God is a double edged sword. He loves us but he hates our sin. He is merciful, but he also has a wrath.

We are not our own but belong to Christ Jesus. Are we reflecting Christ when dress a certain way like revealing outfits or shirts that say or have terrible words and pictures on it? If we are the hands and feet if Christ then we have to reflect him and that includes how we present ourselves to others both in how we act and dress. So the way we dress does matter. And when it comes to lost both men and women are equally responsible for wearing appropriate clothing. While men shouldn't lust over women it doesn't make the struggle any easier when women are walking around wearing things like crop tops, short shorts, lots of cleavage out etc. As a man I actually never take my shirt off when at the beach or a swimming pool. Not because I'm ashamed of my body or because I'm so good looking either but because I'm a married man who doesn't want others lusting over me and I dont want to make myself a stumbling block for others. This video reminded me of something my old pastor said: "Modesty is the product of humility." Multiply your humility, apply it to every aspect of your life, and modesty will come because of that. Be humble about your body, do not boast about it, and you will find that the clothes you chose to wear with that mindset will be modest without you even thinking about it.

Could you make a video on, should christians pray before they eat? Because i know that we should thank God for providing for us but sometimes it seems like a very religous act, like my family is always like, "did you pray? Or are we gonna pray before we eat this?" or sometimes i feel like people are just glorifying the food instead of God. Anyways i would love to hear your thoughts on it
I believe in the 3 principals. A.E.R = Attire, Expression, Representation. How you do these things will define your modesty. Are you wearing it for God, yourself, or someone else? Are you expressing yourself for God, yourself, or someone else? I believe that is the meaning behind Sirach 19:30 "A man’s attire, and excessive laughter, and gait, shew what he is." I've seen girls who's attire are not boastful and excessive solely based on how they express, and carry themselves. (laughter, gait) In other words, you don't even notice that they're wearing high shorts, simply because their personality and expression shows that they're not wearing it for that purpose. I feel there is a happy medium, and I like the way you broke it down Jon, good job and God bless.
True Christians and Daughters of God Almighty and Princesses of the King should be respectful and modest in the way they dress and should be aware of our brothers’ weaknesses and should not tempt them with our wardrobe. Be wise don’t give the Enemy a reason for our brothers to lust over us. If you are mature in your walk, we should be dressing appropriately respectful and modestly all of the times but esp to go to Church.

Can you please talk about "how you should dress at church" I know you said it shouldn't be what you should where but that's the best way I can phrase it I went to a church that you dress in skirts, dresses and formal for church and now I moved to this new church (for reason too long to explain) where it's about the same number of people but they dress more casual pants and I wouldn't be surprised to see band tees I'm not saying it's bad but to me it's just weird cause I'm not used to that so I'm wondering are we supposed to dress formal at church or like how? Ehh. I agree with a lot of this. But at 3:03, you said we shouldn't tell dirty jokes or something like that. So first of all, if you have an audience that will get offended by the joke, don't say it. But if you are with a group of friends that won't get offended by it, and everyone knows it's just a joke and not a real way of thinking, then no. I don't think it's a sin. A lot of rules for sin change when it's for entertainment purposes. If you are just joking around and not being serious, then that is way different then actually being serious and trying to hurt someone. It's like you said. It's about the heart. If my meaning behind something is supposed to be entertaining (and maybe being an entertaining person is glorifying God) and not trying to hurt anyone, then I don't think it's being immodest. Context Matters.
Yes you can wear a bikini if you want to but don't wear it in public, stay in your backyard. One thing my sister brought up years ago is how funny it is that bra and underwear out in public is wrong but wearing a bikini is just as revealing so what's the difference? Lol 😂🤣 it's not even really the clothing itself that is sinful but the fact that you are only wearing it to show off your body and taking a chance on someone lusting over you
Since I started following God I do try to be careful about what I wear. Before following God i literally would wear low cut shirts and short skirts because I wanted to look hot!! And that was it. And when I look back on it now, I think wow!! I feel ashamed!! But it really does annoy me that men tell women they need to be careful how they dress because if the man starts lusting over her it's her Fault.
My teachers in Sunday school always taught us that women should dress like Mary while men should look at women the way the apostles look at Mary. And before the SJWs complain about why only women have to control their appearance, remember that its not true. It's just that in terms of temptation, a female body is more arousing to men than the male body is more women. Men should also dress modestly in order to bring honor to God. Not to mention, while generally the female body causes sexual temptation, there are other ways the male body cause temptation as well. For example us men are prone to use our bodies for violence. So our self control is for different things. There are overlapping areas though. So take it with a grain of salt. In the end, the point is men and women should help each other to lift ourselves to better reflect the glory of God.
Lionelson Norbert in my experience as a female it doesn't matter what we wear, we can wear a paper bag and look like a bag of ass and you guys will still lust after us. Quit looking at us women for your salvation if you find yourself lusting after a woman because of what she wears it's not her fault it's yours for allowing yourself to be weak and stubble. God should be your #1 and you should focus on that and not let your worldly roles take importance from the one True King. You can admire people from afar, but the Father must be your main source and priority. We live to serve Him. Do not fall into any form of idolatry. When your mind is renewed/renewing, you begin to see everyone differently. You will not have to put anyone on a pedestal, even those you admire. They are human, just like you.

To me I believe if I can dress up to meet with those people, why not dress up for Someone who is greater. So I make it a conscious effort to dress up for church.

Ehh. I agree with a lot of this. But at 3:03, you said we shouldn't tell dirty jokes or something like that. So first of all, if you have an audience that will get offended by the joke, don't say it. But if you are with a group of friends that won't get offended by it, and everyone knows it's just a joke and not a real way of thinking, then no. I don't think it's a sin. A lot of rules for sin change when it's for entertainment purposes. If you are just joking around and not being serious, then that is way different then actually being serious and trying to hurt someone. It's like you said. It's about the heart. If my meaning behind something is supposed to be entertaining (and maybe being an entertaining person is glorifying God) and not trying to hurt anyone, then I don't think it's being immodest. Context Matters.

Yes you can wear a bikini if you want to but don't wear it in public, stay in your backyard. One thing my sister brought up years ago is how funny it is that bra and underwear out in public is wrong but wearing a bikini is just as revealing so what's the difference? Since I started following God I do try to be careful about what I wear. Before following God i literally would wear low cut shirts and short skirts because I wanted to look hot!! And that was it. And when I look back on it now, I think wow!! I feel ashamed!! But it really does annoy me that men tell women they need to be careful how they dress because if the man starts lusting over her it's her Fault.

My teachers in Sunday school always taught us that women should dress like Mary while men should look at women the way the apostles look at Mary.
And before the SJWs complain about why only women have to control their appearance, remember that its not true. It's just that in terms of temptation, a female body is more arousing to men than the male body is more women. Men should also dress modestly in order to bring honor to God.
Not to mention, while generally the female body causes sexual temptation, there are other ways the male body cause temptation as well. For example us men are prone to use our bodies for violence. So our self control is for different things.
There are overlapping areas though. So take it with a grain of salt. In the end, the point is men and women should help each other to lift ourselves to better reflect the glory of God.
Lionelson Norbert in my experience as a female it doesn't matter what we wear, we can wear a paper bag and look like a bag of ass and you guys will still lust after us. Quit looking at us women for your salvation if you find yourself lusting after a woman because of what she wears it's not her fault it's yours for allowing yourself to be weak and stubble. It's your fault for allowing your heart not to focus on Christ. Quit putting the weight of your sins on us and replacing Jesus with us.

God should be your #1 and you should focus on that and not let your worldly roles take importance from the one True King. Before officially determining that you want someone to be a role model, you should make sure that they will be a good model of what you should be acting like in your walk with Christ.
