  • Here is a video explaining where the delivery valves are located and a brief take-apart. I also go over the do's and don'ts of this procedure.

    OMG Today I took my delivery valves out and put them into my ultrasonic cleaner machine with diesel purge and cleaned all the rust off of them and now my 300sd idles sooooooo smooth. absolutely no vibrations anymore at idle. All you need to do is clean them. no need to replace them.

    Beautiful car and wife! Did you replace the copper washer or reuse? Thx brother.

      Thanks! Yes, I did replace the washers when I did mine. You can get away with reusing them but for best results, I would replace them. I ordered my washers from a Bosh Injection shop local to me. You can buy new delivery valves but last time I had a customer do that, they were given the wrong ones and did not let the car idle down. Give the exact numbers on the side of the pump when ordering.

    How to locate if your valve is worn?? Do you have some advice ?

    • @eatont9999

      You can take them out and look for obvious physical damage. Most of the time it's not apparently visible. In my case, I changed or verified good, everything else that would cause the engine to shake or run poorly. The last step before changing the whole IP was the delivery valves. Someone had ran waste vegetable oil in this car before I got it and that caused several fuel system issues; delivery valve damage was one of them.

      @@kubaSWAT I would start with a cylinder compression check and while you have the injectors out for that, have them pop tested.

    Hello, can delivery valve cause a dead injector? I have an inline pump in my car and #4 injector doesn't get much fuel, in fact it doesn't run at all. There are just small drips coming from the hard line.

    • @eatont9999
      @eatont9999  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the delivery valve is stuck closed, it's possible the flow to the injector could be too low. Do you use vegetable oil or anything similar as fuel? I would test the injector also to make sure it is still good.

      @@eatont9999 the injectors were just rebuilt as I thought they were the problem, so now I check the delivery valve. The truck's been run on anything that burns basically, from motor oil to veggie oil. Got it for cheap recently, the old fuel filter was full of brown watery stuff and so on. #6 hard line is like a water tap, exactly opposite of #4 while the rest are fine. So next I'll check the delivery valves I suppose.

      @@Oxenan17 You might get away with a good cleaning. My advice is to stay away from the vegetable oil. Used petroleum based oil works much better for me.

      @@eatont9999 so I did the cleaning, twice. nothing happened. I swapped #4 valve to #6 cylinder, then #6 didn't run. All of a sudden the injector started knocking, The knock went away in a couple second and the engine ran on all 6 cylinders! No idea where that dirt or whatever was as I defibately cleaned everything as good as I could. But all that matters is she runs beautiful! Now it looks like this truck will be good for a while afterall. Tho the rebuilt injectors leak from the body, will have to deal with that next. Thank you very much!

    • @eatont9999
      @eatont9999  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I don't have that info. It would be a Bosch part number, though. If you call a Bosh repair shop, they should be able to look it up from the part number on your pump.
