Very reasonable cost. Not a bad way to go about this.

Any idea how air could get into an injection pump though the delivery valves? I am chasing an air infiltration situation and wondering if the o-rings of the injector barrel could be at fault. No fuel leaks at all either.

Ken, love your videos! I have discovered a approx 1964 OM621 190Dc vehicle and taken the engine out. It has been sitting for 30 years! I noticed you do not have many videos on these old engines. My question is the injection pump appears to have a resevoir for oil? Should it be changed and what kind of oil would be best? Thanks Uriah the Dakotan

Yes it should be changed. You can find lots of information on the subject by doing some deep dive internet searches.

Hey Kent, I've got a 1979 300d manual that has some issues with shaking when letting off and giving it gas, the car just sputters for a second or 2 before picking up speed. Was told by mechanics that its a IP problem. What should I look at first?

I would do a diesel purge on the engine and then change all the fuel filters (including the one in the fuel tank) before doing anything else.
