Dude The Ox cart thing is really funny as fukk. Its really trying to go for Read dead 2 level of immersion along with dumb shit. XD But yeah i was gonna say "Dont give your pawn, or chose any pawn online with certain crazy abilities as melee fighter" but i realized "you do them against Chimeras and drags" lol ~ so yea funny thing abt your Ox definitely not a bug. Its how DD1 seems they're keeping certain thing unchanged despite the times and the Age. I really wish less of Escort quests but that's just me
Actually there might be a work-around with getting the pawn back, if it's still in the new game, go to your history in the pause menu and add to favorites and in the rift walk to the stone and there should be a summon menu press search and there you can summon again past summons or pawns you favorited.
HEADS UP! game just released all its monetization after review season DONT BUY THIS GAME - another scum design mtx game from Capcom, no surprises there not about what you can "stand" but about having standards
You mentioned it numerous times... "this game isn't for everyone." I think that's one of many issues with the industry right now. Devs want to make games that appeal to everyone, watering down systems and gameplay in turn making a generic run of the mill game.
agreed. if you try to appeal to everyone. it won't appeal to anyone. simply because you always appeal to the weakest common denominator. meaning shallow generic junk for the masses. just because something is popular doesn't mean it is a good game. studio's really need to go back to learning about the demograph they want to appeal to. and make a game that is actually made for that group. there are plenty of big studio's doing just fine having more specialized games for a more specific player group. You don't have to make ALL the profit. You just have to make profit in order to be sustainable.
@@SOUL-KING-93 huh? Not every genre is for everyone...I figured that was obvious. I generally don't like rpg's, for instance the game covered here is not for me. That's fine. If the devs took someone like me into account, they'd dumb everything down while alienating the core audience. Not every game has to be a genre defining, game of the year contender. Not every game has to be a AAA "experience."
This is why Luke loved Hogwarts Legacy. It’s a game that doesn’t offended, doesn’t try anything new. Games like these that actually try new stuff is what drives gaming forward. Outer Wilds, Kingdom Come, and now DD2.
Charlie going real hard on the game, he’s definitely angry, and fair enough. Selling a product that doesn’t work for 70 bucks, it’s a scam. Pretty sure it was common knowledge the PC port was shit though, and console was the best place to buy it, so he’s gotta take some responsibility for that at least, even if it shouldn’t be an issue in the first place.
@@ivartheboneless5969 Asking consumers to be responsible for a flop from one of giants in the gaming industry is why I read comments. Impeccable logic right there.
@@bciven7862 clearly you don’t read comments, lol. I said they’re scammers for selling a product at 70 quid that doesn’t work. But a quick google search would tell you the PC version doesn’t work. Yes, we should be able to trust companies to deliver games without problems at launch, but they’ve proven we can’t. So take some accountability or responsibility or whatever when you purchase a shit product, it’ll be less likely to happen again. I learned my lesson with cyberpunk2077, yeah it was CDPR who done wrong, but I’m not gonna get scammed again and will do some research before spending.
@@bciven7862 the whole reason companies even get away with this is because people just buy the games without researching them, end up getting mad and forgetting about it until 6 months later when a DLC drops for 20 bucks and the game is fixed, you get a bunch of TH-cam videos “so and so game is great now” and then its all fine. If consumers took some responsibility then companies couldn’t fuk us over all time time.
@@bciven7862 I’m asking for consumers to be responsible with their money and accountable when these companies scam us. A game will release in an unplayable state, everyone’s angry, six months later it’s fixed and there is a new 20 buck DLC. Technical Artist here, chiming in in regards to the performance drop while a lot of humanoid characters are present: This may very well be because humanoids tend to have many layers (including their body mesh and elements of equipment) attached to their main "skeleton" that are treated in turn very similarly as separate skeletons that need to be animated. This can create heavy CPU load because one humanoid may require each equipment slot's current position to be calculated individually in relation to the wearer's skeleton. As opposed to a lot of creatures that are treated as single skeleton and are thus way "lighter" performance-wise, since they are often only one single skeleton. Tldr: humanoids are often way heavier to process because they are more customizable in body characteristics and equipment.
AI as well. There could be tons of scripts for each NPC and many event triggers depending on how complex it is. However, that's not at all an excuse for it running poorly lol.
@@Kolket1389 Ignorant comment. It will always be a tug of war between higher fidelity graphics and hardware performance. Its not a standard that can be set under the umbrella of what we call "modern gaming". That is a nuanced description that youre oversimplifying.
@@rasamasala That's true, but this is clearly a case of poor optimization. There are games much more complex that have no such problems. Like GTA for example.
Lets be real here, DD1 was rough, sparse story and lots of jank, but incredibly fun and charming. DD2 doesn’t really have to do much to be better and from everything Ive seen of it, they made improvements where it was needed. It also not holding your hand is a HUGE PLUS for me. I already got *INTO FREE* ready to blast through my speakers.
I’m a huge fan of the game and I’d say it has a lot to do better. Getting about the same level of game but it looks better isn’t exactly an ideal outcome for me as a fan. No hard mode and lack of enemy variety is sort of a gut punch as well. I’ve killed those enemies so many times…and the first game was only hard on a first initial play through . I’m still getting it, but I’m not gonna knock others for wanting more.
@@ruekurei88 Did I sound like I was knocking others for wanting more? Hope thats not how I came across. After Dark Arisen, I’m sure theres enough variety compared to the first game and when talking difficulty, Im always skeptical. Hard for some might not mean the same for others. Hell, the people who complain about FromSoft never adding an easy mode are the ones that come to mind. I expect more complaints are going to be around how the game doesn’t hold your hand rather than be too easy.
@therotten6152 so far, haven't heard too much about bugs (outside of some quest pathing stuff), it's mainly been the fps. Which sucks, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

"Ezio's Family" from the AC soundtrack was also what immediately jumped out to me in this video. One of the most beautiful soundtracks in gaming history imo. Although I would've preferred to hear some actual DD2 soundtrack.
It's 2024 . And no studio ever won the battle with clipping cloak, Clipping cloak - undefeated champion of gaming, untouchable , dominant and still kicking in every single game , that has cloaks ofc
Fun fact, Witcher 3 devs wanted to include cloak as equipable item, but it was removed, the cause? let's just say the clipping cloak god took another soul. Also fun fact, you can download cloak mods and enjoy clipping in all it's glory :D
I think I’ll like it, but I’m going to hold off for a week or two before making a decision. I want to see what issues will be there on release day, how they go about fixing these issues and what the overall community feels about it. Then, I’ll take a shot of whisky, spin in a circle counter clockwise and flip a coin.
Did you play the first one? If you are on the fence the best advice I can give is play dd1. It is a great intro to dd2. Alot that may intrigue you about 2 is most likely present in 1 especially if it's the combat. Most of the combat is largely ripped right from 1.
@@hannahw7023I’m so on the edge to preorder this but after Lords of the Fallen’s disappointment I will probably just wait until next week if I really want the game after seeing some intro gameplay
In the previous game, If I remember correctly, there was a way where you could favorite pawns in the rift and see which ones you've summoned before. They would also show up in the open world near towns. So even if they die, you can still get them back in the rift.
Can confirm, the Favorites function is in DD2. There are also static "codes" for each player's pawn, which can be entered while in the Rift to directly summon a specific pawn if you have it.
The gameplay looks fun and interesting. However, on top of all the performance issues lots of people seem to be having, i dont want to pay full price to a company who thinks microtransactions in a single player game is ok. Gonna be waiting for a real big sale on this one before i get it.
the devs have made it so the microtransactions are irrelevant, you can earn all of it in game and i dont mean after 7 years it's all obtainable and easily obtainable its capcoms fault they are greedy asshats, this game is honestly worth the price if you liked the original, much better than most of that aaaa slop you can actually tell it was made by gamers
@leviryan5301 Gotta make a point to call it out some time. Sure the developers put work into the game but it's tacky bullshit that makes me want to just wait for indie titles

I believe Capcom is taking the open world genre in a better direction. A lot of open world games lack a sense of mystery and discovery because you always know where you are going. It's satisfying figuring out where to go and what to do by using your own critical thinking skills.

Looks good! I still no longer pay full price for games any more because they are never released bug free. I now wait for a good number of patches and hotfixes and then buy them on their first major sale, assuming steam reviews are positive. This is the best way...its more bug free and its cheaper = better game experience. Only game I've ever bought at full price in recent times was Baulder's Gate 3. Companies like EA and Ubisoft and Blizzard and Bethesda are the reason I no longer buy games on release at full price.
Also a note, the AI in the first game Started dumb and got better as the pawns spent more time with you. They also will change tactics too. So like the dumb AI might have some level of intentions. IE the Ox cart might have been a level of the game messing with you to make more emergent game play. also the enemies falling off stuff was a thing in the first game, this happens with the dumber ones all the time. Also the first game had the same issues with the cities, also the NPCs in the first game have very detailed modeling of like routines.
just fyi, The pawn AI was downgraded in the second game. They no longer learn from you like they did in the first game and they dont change tactics around how you play anymore.
What I don't understand is when games like this struggle with performance and the npcs dropping in and out in the town... but you look at red dead 2 opens world which is years old now, and probably still the best open world ever....and this game can't get it right. Shocking
Most game devs spend 1-3 years on their games. 1 for something yearly like whatever latest cod comes out, 2 or 3 for any other game with a modicum of effort put into them, or just misuse of time and resources. Rockstar took 8 years and around 100 million dollars to make rdr2. Gta5 took 252 million dollars to make, which is weird because it's much less impressive than rdr2, but that cost may be calculated after advertising unlike rdr2 cost. Then there's larian studios with baldurs gate 3 and they took 6 years to make bg3, and a budget estimated between 100-200 million before advertising. But really a big budget or long development time isn't what makes a good game. The greatest game ever made only took 2 years and an estimated 20 million dollars or less to make. NieR:Automata is the game in cas you're curious. You just need the right people working on something they love uninterrupted by any big wig investors with only money on their mind. Geniuses and talented folk tend to do pretty amazing things when you just leave them the fuck alone for a second to do their thing.

@SirJonHarringtonBlumpkinThe8th Exactly, I really hope they'll do update their reviews asap. It's their integrity and reputation after all. But to be honest its hard to be hopeful. Just look at the Starfield scam. Only after it became trendy to be critical about the game did the TH-cam reviewers jumped into that bandwagon.
Its not rly an mtx to get another char slot, just to change the appearance of ur existing one, that can be found in game. But still, the point that one has to remove the save file while cloud save is off to just restart the game ist wild to me.
Don't think it was mentioned here, but if you have a quest and get a pawn with "Quest Guide" they will walk you to the objective when issued the "Go" command.

Personal preference changes with age and how much free-time you have. I used to enjoy games that took up a lot of time and you had to work things out for yourself, but these days I don't have the patience. I can barely get an hour of gaming in per day sometimes, so I don't want to be spending half the time wandering aimlessly or looking up solutions. If there's PC performance issues, I think that's also something that's not inspiring me for a day one purchase. Will wait for some patches and hopefully a discount. Thanks for honest review as usual.
Yeah I get what you mean, though personally I love that games dare to not spell things out for the player and that we have to invest some more time into things to figure stuff out. I'm glad some games still do this, as every game doesn't have to take every player into account.
I kinda like the idea of the game wanting me to think things through and then if I start getting frustrated because I'm too dumb to figure it out THEN I can look it up online or something like that. I know looking things up can get annoying, but the overt hand holding of many modern games can get very mind numbing.
I totally agree. I've never been the type to want to deal with convoluted or obscure questing or having to read pages of dialogue to get through a game, but even less so now that I actually know what I like, and that's action, not mystery, puzzling, or long journeys on foot.

all reviewers knew that there were microtransactions, they were focusing on reviewing the game and how it plays not some nonsense that you *could* buy separately that has little impact on the game

The micro transactions are mostly what come with my deluxe edition copy anyway, and there just in game items that you can get by working for them. The only reason to buy them is if you’re lazy. All the items are in the game. They’ve not an item that be obtained by buying only like in Diablo 3. So, I really don’t see the issue!
Capcom Net Worth: 8.8 billion= Performance issues and Microtransactions Fromsoftware Net Worth Worth: 40 million=Banger after Banger Why dont mention these things, is there an incentive for them???
Your comment made me curious. Capcom does make vastly more and has a bigger budget overall, they own like. 100 ips and multiple studios. The expense reports say that Capcom actually spends more of its Earning than Fromsoft does. If Capcom isnt finishing their games its because they hit that budget cap, considering Capcom is spending more of its Earnings it cant afford to continue development if the development isnt going well so they focus their teams to get out what they can in that budget. Its why the CEO wants $100 games. Kind of out of touch and its probably too much spending on management but at the same time They are spending over half of their income back into the market. Which was weird to read on tbh.
Capcom games generally run better, look better and play better than Fromsoft games. All From games have is edgelord content and boring combat to offer.
I love games like this. A game that makes you explore its systems and figure things out is what gaming should be. I grew up playing Atari through everything we play today. The games I enjoy the most were the ones that felt original and didn’t have a “by the numbers” walkthrough. Games like Metal Gear and Assassins Creed 1 and a few others did it so well. For old school gamers like me I think this is going to be a huge hit but for people who go in expecting “dodge and roll” and everything else that every other game does… this likely won’t be for you. Challenge yourself to play games that don’t lead you or give you all the answers. Those are the games that leave you wanting more and looking forward to sequels.
I may not always agree but man too many reviewers feed confirmation bias for engagement. Luke is one of the few that highlights positives and negatives. Truly appreciated
As for the game itself, I don’t create content and I play multiple games so it’ll get picked up on sale. Elden ring and Zelda felt hand crafted. No hand holding is a pebble roll away from lack of design. And from what I’ve seen from multiple people this is poor design.

@elibrainless90 if you played the first, you'd be hype too. It's still better than so many of the games that has been released the last few years and the thing is over 10 years old.
I feel like an important thing to point out about the “this game doesn’t hold your hand” point is that pawns can lead you on quests. You are able to go to the stone and search for a pawn that has knowledge specific to the quest you’re on because they did it with THEIR Arisen. They will also point you in the direction of chests, caves, riftstones, and tokens their Arisen has found with them as well. So if you want some assistance with exploration in the world..look out for pawns that are well experienced, I believe there’s actually a specific rift stone for “well traveled” pawns.
I play on ps5, and the 30fps is in my opinion stable, and enough. I have fallen in love with the world this game provides💙 the pawns are more talkative, in a good way, imo they sound more real :) If you are a fan of games like elden ring, Im pretty sure you would like this one😊
I like a lot of stuff about this game except for one save file. At least have two. If the power cuts out, it gets corrupted, a thunderstorm, etc. (these have all happened to me) and your X number of hours in the game could be gone.
I really wanted to play it but I can't convince myself to support a game that has such disgusting microtransactions. A single player game having any micro transactions is bad enough, but a $70 game that cuts out fundamental features to sell them back to you is disgusting. Maybe I'll cave eventually but it doesn't look like I'm missing anything given it's horrible micro transactions, steep price, and the fact that it runs like shit.
yea, why is there no mention of all these things ? HE probably played a whole another version of the game Pre release but not re addressing the game AFTER release is full dishonesty, especially with all the Micro Transactions, Save Files shaddy business.
Runs fine on ps5 for me, also not buying any microtransactions, I also have tons of the stuff they selling already at low levels, gameplay is crazy and fun for me.
Everything sold as a microtransaction can be found in-game. It's stupid, yes, but nothing in the "online shop" is required to play the game and no features have been removed. It's absolutely the Capcom executives that set up those microtransactions, not the developers themselves, and unfortunately those execs only see games in terms of dollar signs.
By that logic i hope u didnt support resident evil remakes and monster hunter world which all basically have them. Not justifying it but they have all been so equally useless in just allowing lazy people to speedrun

I just heard the news that all reviewers were given info that the game had mtx with their review copy. If this is true, this NEEDS to be mentioned in your reviews. And people make the excuse that "capcom puts mtx in all their games", you can't just assume that everyone plays or pays attention to capcom games regularily or at all. I like your reviews as a skeptic, but this REALLY damages credibilty of your reviews. People defend it, but I watch your reviews because your supposed to be the honest level headed reviewer, and leaving it out hurts the trust. It does. I don't care how cringe or how "not a big deal some people treat this. It is a big deal.
The man's didn't even mention the fact that it's flooded with microtransactions or the fact, you can edit your character without paying, or the main fact you can't even start a new save game in a singleplayer game. That maybe should be mentioned in a review no?
@@tecat132 You can edit characters without editing, but you need to earn the item in the game, but this doesn't excuse the mtx. And the mtx weren't posted in the store until the full release, but from another reviewer, they said that they were told all the mtx that will be in the game when it launches, so that isn't really an excuse. It should have been mentioned if he was given the info.
@F34RDSoldier805 I've watched over a handful of reviews about this game, some negative and some positive. Most negative reviewers say the same thing, you can't start a new game, you can only play on your first playthrough which is craz, for a singleplayer game , and you need to pay $2.99 to edit your main character, which doesn't make sense in a singleplayer game, that's unheard of. I totally agree with you that these reviewers didn't mention all the mtx, when receiving the game before others. It's sad
The microtransactions are not only identical to every other Capcom release for the past few years (nobody complained about the MTX in Resident Evil 4, for example) but are also identical to the first Dragon's Dogma. Anyone who complains about it never played the first game and is just outraging for no reason.
Probably because everything you can buy is literally in the game making the cash shop rather pointless. Are you going to also criticize HellDivers? It does the same thing.
I love when devs let go and let you discover things without guiding you there. That was the biggest gripe I had with Forbidden west. I would explore then do missions and it would just bring me back to the place I just explored. I’m excited to find things my friends either find or don’t find.
It's funny, everything you described in the Emergent Encounters from taking the armor off a cyclops and stabbing it in the eye to killing enemies by tricking them into jumping off a cliff, that's all stuff you could do in the first game. DD1 is one of my favorite games of all time, but even I have to admit that it was always rough around the edges and I understand most people bouncing off of it. So my main hope is that the modern polish of the sequel can introduce a new generation of people to the awesome gameplay that the series is known for, sorta like with Monster Hunter World.
no one seems to mention the micro transaction.. unlike Kingdom come deliverance, that game came out rough but at least it's not a quick cash grab (and now it's pretty much fixed), having enormous micro transactions inside a 70$ game is insane, you need to be greedy for that to be happen. having micro transactions on top of a full priced video game is the lowest thing a AAA company could ever do, even cyberpunk never did this
I just got the game after watching this video, but I'm severely disappointed with the microtransactions and performance of this game. I got a relatively high end pc and still only hitting 45 fps. Don't get this game until its fixed or wait for a sale. It's not worth buying in the state it's in right now.
Nah. Performance issues can be fixed. The game isn't for general audiences, but a specific kind. Yeah, so was the first. It needed patches to be optimized as well. MY main gripe is that you have to pay to change your characters appearance. And that starting a new game with a new character is a non-existent feature. Because you know that shit isn't going to be fixed in 6 months. You know that isn't going to appeal to a specific type of audience. That's just straight up anti-consumer practice and greedy. 30+ years of gaming and we've never had an issue editing our character's appearance or starting a new character. But now suddenly it costs us money? And it's not even a one-time fee. No, it's a charge on your bank account for every time you want to edit your character.
Incorrect. You can buy the character appearance changer for a small amount of rift crystals. Please criticize the MTX without mixing misinformation and lies into the criticism.
This game is one of the few games that’s lived up to the massive hype and exceeded it for me. I even held off playing the original of this, so the Dragon’s Dogma experience would be fresh and completely new for me playing this. Boy I’m glad I made that decision. For me this has beaten Baldur’s Gate 3 and that game for me is a top 5 game of all time!

One bug I have encountered a few times is a pawn would say "Oh look, a chest" and I would look at my mini map and I will see a chest marker. However, when I find the chest, I realize it has already been opened by one of my pawns. Despite already being opened, the chest doesn't leave my mini map and the pawns seem to believe it is still something I can use
Ahhh THE TRUE DD PLAYERS FINALLY COME OUT! Lol many of us DD fans warned & told y’all… 😂 but no y’all don’t listen n now wanna downvote our little niche gem game. 🤦🏾 The game unapologetically leans into its core audience that supported it years ago. I’m loving every minute of it on ps5 🤘🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
23:20 you can go to major riftstones (like the ones in towns) and search for pawns you’ve recruited in the past. You can also favorite pawns and rehire them whenever you want.
Why is that people are saying "This game isn't for everyone" about DD2, but in the same vein, if you hated Elden Ring the response isn't "Oh this game isn't for you", but instead a "LOL GIT GUD SCRUB." or "Someone didn't get past the tree sentinel!" For the record, I beat Elden Ring, but it was the single most frustrating gaming experience of my entire life. I was just determined to get my money's worth, and I run my head into brick walls. But this game looks like what I wanted Elden Ring to be. I went into Elden Ring blind, but if I had known how grotesque and disgusting the whole world was going to be, I never would've bought it. DD2 is much more grounded and medieval and I like that.
I am highly unlikely to play this, I am a pathetic weakling who needs my hand held, but this review is helpful in making me feel less anxious about having pre-ordered this for my dad. He adores the first game, was constantly renting back when you vould rent disks in stores, for a couple years. I finally, after like 15 years, bought him a copy the same time I pre-ordered, lol. He's having fun getting back into the swing of it, and hopefully it'll make the second game more enjoyable - he won't have to learn the controls

Your other comment you justified it by saying Hogwarts Legacy didn’t run great on release but telling someone else they need to touch grass because video game companies keep scamming consumers is wild. A lot of players will just use online help anyways. Most of us didn’t solve Dark Souls quests organically. The crowd sourced help available online I think will get players through the game as long as combat is fun.
My thoughts exactly. I'm not a fan of being forced to read through tons of notes and dialogue, so I'll be looking everything up if I play it, but purposeful tedium is not my cup of tea.
The game is sooo real I love it, no fast travel very limited I like that you have to travel and actually rest and choose the safest route the world is built somewhat realistically and it’s beautiful feels like lord of the rings just running around killing beasties
I was never worried that this game wasn't gonna be good, but I knew that performance would've been a problem. I even upgraded my Ryzen5 3600 for a more recent 5600x but at this point I'm sure my rig is going to struggle anyway. It's a real shame. Hogwarts Legacy had a similar problem where in Hogsmeade the performance would decrease significantly. And in Hogwarts Legacy, even though the problem was still somewhat present, I have found that a pirated copy ran significantly better than the game I purchased on Steam. So I am fairly convinced Denuvo is to blame for at least some of these problems, and I hope it gets removed soon from the game. Despite that, the game clearly wasn't optimized properly and that's a shame.
Cos pirated games dont have DRM the anticheat, Capcome uses Denuvo and Denuvo is the worst performance by far. The cpu drops i think is from Denuvo Drm that it's causing the problem
you said at the beginning of the video that you started a second play through? How did you manage to do this? Did they give you special access to be able to have multiple characters? It seems myself and seemingly everyone else on steam is only allowed a single playthrough with our one character

The game is great. The only thing I think it needs is horses because you spend so much time just wandering from place to place you could explore way better with a horse. There’s too much wasted time wandering without one. I like to explore, but if you’re just trying to get from one part of the map to the other, but you don’t want to do it on a oxcart and miss stuff along the way. They need to put horses in the damn thing.
As much as I want to play this, this seems like it will be a massive time sink. After Rebirth and Infinite Wealth...I don't want to go on another 100hr plus adventure especially if there is no story to keep me interested

I definitely appreciate the review. Great stuff but I think you may have overstated what will keep people playing and what won’t, because you listed off a “few” general annoyances that to me just feel like deal breakers. When the games idea and strategy is exactly what I was looking forward to. Like the random encounters that get repetitive, or how they don’t allow you get to a horse to make travel more enjoyable over the long haul. Elden ring struck a perfect balance where this game really misses the mark on so many small things that add up. Still a stellar review. I might wait on this one though.
definitely wait, get rise of ronin....I wouldn't be put off tho cause these people had days to play and only play the main quests that's why thier on thier 2nd playthrough.
PS5 - I have seen one dynamic encounter in 20 hours of play. I have gotten a lot of bosses down to 2% percent of their health left, kicking ass all the way there, only to do die by being stun locked and killed in two hits. No fast travel is okay if there is content (other than combat and looting) in between the locations. The gaming community will be tired of this game by the end of the week.
It’s like Elden ring if there was no plot, no fast travel, bland art direction, one biome, awful performance and no characters. On an also an obnoxious carrying capacity that breaks exploration enjoyment immediately. Quality of life’s is not the same thing as hand holding. Elden ring is a good example of a game like this. Made my developers who actually thought about improving from their last games.

Spending a lot of time usually tells ppl you enjoyed a game. But if it takes me 10min to get to a location, 10min in a conversation, 10min in a cut scene, 10min to travel to the next location, 10min spent fighting on the way to the location then a 20min fight with a dragon, that’s already over an hour of gameplay and you haven’t dont anything 🤣🤣🤣
I thought Infinite Wealth was bad with the paywall New Game+. Well with DD2 you can prepare that the normal New Game is behind Paywall. We are going back to the arcade games times. YOu will need to pay 1.99 to launch the game in the future.
The game costs £54, then for a single player game adds 21 dlcs on release 😂 People having to kill npcs in cities to boost FPS. Can't delete a character you've made to restart the game. And sitting on Mostly Negative reviews 🤣
This is going to be another Elden Ring with a chunk of people crying about not being told exactly where to go and not wanting invest their brain into quests.
Exactly. I'm playing Breath of the Wild now for the first time and I love how many quests don't give you a marker on the map where to go. You have to read and talk to quest givers and they'll tell you the general direction where to go. It oddly feels liberating
It's a game at end of day. I don't wanna sit there for hours upon hours if I don't know where to go or what to do jsut becusse it's liberating idfc. Bro at end of day its super annoying looking up tutorials in 2024
@dannyCoolSwag Than the game isn't for you and that's okay. Some people want to really explore more realistically ans others just want a marker on a map so they want to know where to go.
@Raven.Bloodrot OH. Thank God you sent me this. I was literally just about to buy the game. Phew. I'll just..wait for sales??? - I guess, thanks to you. 😂
Performance for me is the killer. Playing a game in 2024 that drops consistently below 30 fps is broken to me. Which is a shame because I feel I’d love this game.
For a game that is $30 more than BG3, as a consumer I have to ignore the poor level of quality of the PC port, the awful questing system and the garbage A.I. No that is total bull shit. If the game is crap then I shouldn't need to adjust my expectations for a game that is selling for $110 in my country. Imagine buying a T-shirt and there is only one arm hole, just ignore that and accept the over priced T-Shirt that is missing the 2nd hole. Yeah, we as consumers should be lowering our expectations for finished products.
I'm gonna post a VERY controversial opinion here, but I believe people that decide to wait and maybe pirate this game will have a much better experience playing it. It's just that the game has bad performance, it requires both updates and maybe losing denuvo to just run much more smoothly and be a much more enjoyable experience. I never pre-order games, and I just went to the steam page to check if I should buy this game... but the reviews are "mostly negative" (38% at release date), yeah, no way I'm buying it now, I'll wait. I'm too poor to throw my money in a game with mostly negative reviews, it's probably the only game I'll be able to buy for this and the next 1 or 2 months.
An overwhelming majority of the reviews complain about micro transactions and not being able to edit the appearance of your character once your start the game. Oh, and also about the one profile-one save game feature which can be circumvented as in the first game. Seems there are plenty of people who haven't played a Capcom game yet and are too trigger happy to actually dive in game and exprience how the systems work. You do not need to buy anything in the store, all of the items can be found in game. You can also edit your character with a specific item. If you do not like something, you can restart by turning off cloud saves and deleted manually your savegames. Then you can again select a new game.
Sure, the items CAN be found in game....yet they sell them day 1, im sure this made game design for finding them easier no? Im not sure which other Capcom titles you are talking about with the character creator, even in MHW you got 1 for free and had multple save files to restart..I havent had to "circumvent" any one profile nonsense before, and I dont think anyone should have too in a $70 game. Ive seen nor heard nothing that justifies its $70 price tag, i fact its the opposite.@@8wayz2shine

You mentioned it numerous times... "this game isn't for everyone." I think that's one of many issues with the industry right now. Devs want to make games that appeal to everyone, watering down systems and gameplay in turn making a generic run of the mill game.
Lol if games don't appeal to everybody then the game won't last long and I'm pretty sure that's not a good profit for them 😂
agreed. if you try to appeal to everyone. it won't appeal to anyone. simply because you always appeal to the weakest common denominator.
meaning shallow generic junk for the masses. just because something is popular doesn't mean it is a good game.
studio's really need to go back to learning about the demograph they want to appeal to. and make a game that is actually made for that group.
there are plenty of big studio's doing just fine having more specialized games for a more specific player group.
You don't have to make ALL the profit. You just have to make profit in order to be sustainable.

Technical Artist here, chiming in in regards to the performance drop while a lot of humanoid characters are present:
This may very well be because humanoids tend to have many layers (including their body mesh and elements of equipment) attached to their main "skeleton" that are treated in turn very similarly as separate skeletons that need to be animated.
Bro, just stop… that type of thing should not happen in modern games.

AI as well. There could be tons of scripts for each NPC and many event triggers depending on how complex it is. However, that's not at all an excuse for it running poorly lol.

Made by quality devs who cared about enough to optimize their game, they didn’t just figure, hey fuck the player!
I've yet to see any review mention that you only get one character, EVER. You have to buy a $1.99 mtx if you want a new character.

I sometimes get the feeling game devs make games with journalists in mind rather than players. Most people don't have 25-30 hours just to get to the part where the game starts to get interesting, which is something that happens often now, and playing big, dense games in 1 hour sessions can get confusing, because you don't connect as easily with the dozens of different characters that make up the story. Oof all these reviewers who got pre-release copies, tricked into giving reviews of the game not knowing the full deal on release and all the micro-transactions. Honestly it's a bad look.
It’s becoming a regular thing. And since these people are desperate for clicks they go for it.. it’s an easy to “corrupt” system.
Who cares about micro transactions just don’t buy them.
all reviewers knew that there were microtransactions, they were focusing on reviewing the game and how it plays not some nonsense that you *could* buy separately that has little impact on the game
@@steeledclub6368 the issue is that they influence and affect the games design more and more.
And it’s not a matter of not buying them, because they are aimed at a small minority that always falls for them. Or as the devs call them “whales” (which comes from how casinos would call their high paying customers..).
Capcom Net Worth: 8.8 billion= Performance issues and Microtransactions
Fromsoftware Net Worth Worth: 40 million=Banger after Banger
Why dont mention these things, is there an incentive for them???

I have fallen in love with the world this game provides💙 the pawns are more talkative, in a good way, imo they sound more real :)
If you are a fan of games like elden ring, Im pretty sure you would like this one😊

I'm sorry, but review copies are never to be trusted
You don’t HAVE to pay to change your appearance you CAN pay for it
It’s till scummy and lame but you dont have to but it, you can obtain the item to change your appearance in game without spending a dime

Why is that people are saying "This game isn't for everyone" about DD2, but in the same vein, if you hated Elden Ring the response isn't "Oh this game isn't for you", but instead a "LOL GIT GUD SCRUB." or "Someone didn't get past the tree sentinel!"
For the record, I beat Elden Ring, but it was the single most frustrating gaming experience of my entire life. I was just determined to get my money's worth, and I run my head into brick walls.

Same, imagine hitting 45 fps on a high end pc and adding microtransactions in a single player game. This game is a joke
Runs fine for me on ps5, but I also have vrr on s95b game is fun and crazy.
@@sourpatchkillaps5 is at 30fps at most...
@@mateusgreenwood1096 i mean it dips now and then but nah for the most part its runs fine. Like ill be in a fight with 10+ monsters and 4 more npcs came in to help then it would drop a bit.
You think you crying like a child impacts the game at all?
Dd1 had lackluster sales and reception. And yet, we got dd2.
As a longtime fan, we dont need you.
I might wait on this one though.
agreed, not paying 100$ for this in my country, will most likely play ten hours before never coming back to it.
Seeing ppl start their 2nd playthrough and the games not even out.. definitely waiting for it to go on sale
definitely wait, get rise of ronin....I wouldn't be put off tho cause these people had days to play and only play the main quests that's why thier on thier 2nd playthrough.
@@DanC2352 sounds like I made a wise decision based on reviews lol
@@maggie937 what are reviews saying? besides this one of course? no good?
@@DanC2352 from what I've heard, lack of content but plenty of micro transactions, low frame rate..
@@maggie937 dang really lol, it looks cool but I quit the first one within a few days for how slow pace the game was
PS5 - I have seen one dynamic encounter in 20 hours of play.
"Graphics don't really matter..."
Proceeds to bitch about the game looking like a PS4 game for 10 minutes.
Literally just the ethos of his Rise of the Ronin review
Dude how are you always right? Turns out they made the travel so tedious in this game in order to sell fast-travel microtransactions.
Travel seems fine to me just like the first one... I have tons of ferry stones early on just exploring.
Fast travel is the EXACT same as the first game.
@@sourpatchkilla The first game was released over a decade ago. Standards increased and leaving it to be as tedious as before is intentional game design--whether it be negatively influenced by microtransactions or not.
@@KenLinxehh idk its hey you as a traveller have to make sure you got everything before venturing out to the big woods. So make sure you got supplies and whatnot or u might get caught offguard. Not every game needs to be for everyone, if it aint for u whatever
@@casual1118 I didn't say it wasn't for me. I said the possibility of the mechanics being influenced by the pay-to-win microtransactions is there.
9:57 oh shit, walking over a cyclops back armour thing actually deals damage to you? That’s pretty cool!
I never understood why they don’t give you a horse to travel on, I always felt like they’re forcing hours of gameplay by making these decisions.
It oddly feels liberating
its fine only idiots would buy games they would not like
No because elden ring had recent optimization. So a lot of people won’t even play it.
70-80 dollars on one game is just not it at this point, regardless of whether or not it's good.
Then wait for sales??? No one is forcing you to buy anything.
@Raven.Bloodrot OH. Thank God you sent me this. I was literally just about to buy the game. Phew. I'll just..wait for sales??? - I guess, thanks to you. 😂
The phantom oxcart quest was really cool, idk if there are multiple solutions to it but the way i did it was really neat.
Performance for me is the killer. Playing a game in 2024 that drops consistently below 30 fps is broken to me. Which is a shame because I feel I’d love this game.
oh man I haven't been this excited about a game in a while.
Why must games be for everyone in the first place? It's the biggest reason why most games today are near identical mediocre messes.
$1.99 to make a character bruh it’s a 1 out of 5 stars
For a game that is $30 more than BG3, as a consumer I have to ignore the poor level of quality of the PC port, the awful questing system and the garbage A.I. No that is total bull shit. If the game is crap then I shouldn't need to adjust my expectations for a game that is selling for $110 in my country. Imagine buying a T-shirt and there is only one arm hole, just ignore that and accept the over priced T-Shirt that is missing the 2nd hole. Yeah, we as consumers should be lowering our expectations for finished products.
The sell the same amount in mine
This game was worth it for me, its just very immersive and fun
U stated that their is no hand holding in the game and their is no quest markers and now that I have played the game I had a quest marker for every quest so far ?? Everyone acted like this game was going to make u look and be blind to where to go but it seems like most quests are generic and hold hands with markers taking out the seeking and looking for clues …
Let me guess, youve only done the main quest lines
@@BrandonDenny-we1rwjust ur mom
Damn bro I really wanted to play the game but idk if I can handle fps in the 20s especially when I'm paying $70.
