Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is an action-adventure game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. A sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (2019), the game takes place five years after the ending of the first and continues the adventure of young Jedi Knight, Cal Kestis, as he and his friends continue in their struggle to survive the tyranny of the Galactic Empire. Survivor was released for the PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on April 28, 2023. It received generally favorable reviews from critics.

Bode is not an old best friend, Cal literally called him the “New Guy” and other members of the crew asked how the new guy did. Cal also asked Bode questions about himself because he was the “New Guy”.
Yeah I think the opening adventure is the first time they've worked together; there's a level of hesitation in their cooperation. It's also why Bode explains his personal story--which we find out later (in the sound memories) was a deliberate psychological approach to gaining Cal's trust. It's some cold CIA shit. Bode is a scary calculating dude.
It's also worth noting that Bode wasn't a just a friend who betrayed Cal--he was undercover the whole time, and Cal+Cere were his operational targets. He was tempted to betray the empire and skip out with them, but ultimately he did to them what he was planning to do from the beginning... he just conveniently got rid of his empire spy boss at the same time.
@@serrasedai They also didn't mention that he's a Sith. As soon as he revealed his red light saber. I knew that their was no redeeming him. No matter how good his intentions. His daughter was always going to have an unhappy life with him. I mean his daughter at the end even said how he'd changed after his wife had died. Either he would get her killed or turn her.

@@wkadalieIt's Dagans Lightsaber. If you go back to where you killed Dagan, you can find a force essence of Bode complementing the lightsaber and taking it for himself. I too was genuinely confused when I first saw the red blade appear and thought that it was his too. It also means he's not really a sith either lol
@@vixouu7925 it is Dagan's, once you beat the game you can go back through all the locations and find a bunch of force echoes of Bode, one of which is him taking Dagan's weapon and remarking "good balance for such an old lightsaber, it's almost like I never stopped training."

Oggdo Bogdo (frog boss) is more an easter egg. It's supposed to be stupid OP and cheating because it was such a meme from the first game for how difficult early on it was. Once you beat it, you then unlock a second boss battle where you fight two at once and it's evil.

Nah, mostly only for AAA games as only those companies know they'll sell millions of copies no matter how good and unbroken the games are. And the "great" part is often not there at all for them, they're just ok or shitty and broken.
It's also not a PC exclusive problem, most of these games are broken on consoles too.

14:51 to be fair about two things Bode wasn’t best friends with Cal when you first meet, he’s the new guy and the other point about the dark side ability. It’s Cal tapping into the dark side BUT balancing the force with it so after all the terrible things he saw and lost he’s able to channel his anger and use it without completely losing himself. kinda like a certain Jedi with a purple lightsaber 🥸don’t mean to nitpick. This is a great video/breakdown! I thought this game was a lot of fun and I had a great time with it

Regardless of it’s problems, a game hasn’t made me feel that level of none stop enjoyment in a very long time, it’s definitely my favourite game since rdr2 and I personally enjoyed this more which I didn’t think would happen, I played on series s so I had absolutely ass performance tbh but it didn’t change how I felt
RDR2 isn't a fun game. It's too much of a simulation. Too slow at times. You'd have to compare it to a DMC or GOW.

I play with no hud or crosshairs or anything like that for immersion, which is what the games for. I hope it’s not like that in gta6 unless they do it really well

@@wkadalie it’s more about being extremely linear. You can very rarely go off the beating path and do your own thing in rockstar games, (on missions) and I really hope they incorporate more choices.
13:12 Merrin literally told him to remember who he is after he uses the dark side ability on Nova Garon? Nothing more needs to be said during the rest of the game as the stakes of Cal falling to the dark side has already been set.
I think the mechanic is amazing, it's a good representation of how quick and easy it is to become powerful with the dark side, giving the player a choice of the easy way out by using it or not using it at all like a Jedi would.
I was thinking precisely about this. How freaking tempting it is to use the dark side, how overwhelmingly powerful you can become, and especially face to face the enemies that was bothering you half of the game. Having them all on one shot, especially those f***g spinning DT Sentry Droids... :D no but seriously, it was quite nice gaming experience,more immersive dive into SW universe.
But I too was thinking about Cal falling to the dark side being already set. When Cal is talking with Merrin about his fear of losing himself, Merrin tells him something like "if you ever stray from your path, we will guide you back", looks at BD, he boops. Or -whatever. . And I was like - here we go for no.3 story! It could be actually pretty amazing, having this arc, with dark Cal and playable Merrin at least for a part of the game.. And I would vouch for a happy ending, the relationship saving someone from the dark side instead of pulling him there. we'll see. But I am hyped already.
@@liduna2000 I love the idea of having an almost unsavable Cal in the third game. I feel like the natural progression to the metroidvania formula would be to introduce optional dark side powers.
Cal at the end of this game is so full of hatred and I would love to see Merrin & Kata save him. It's a classic Star Wars trope, but if they can get it right...man it would be good.

I don't think most people noticed, after cal uses the dark side. Inside the meditation menu, the color in the background changes from blue to red. An it stays red even when the game ends. That will definitely be a huge focus in the possible next game. 14:28

@@jamesjohnson8471 that's no excuse for a broken game. Broken is broken. Did we not destroy so many games and franchises before for just being broken even though the game was very good. Assassin's creed unity comes to mind. AC unity was and is still dunked on, so will be Jedi survivor. No exceptions.

I agree. Performance issues aside, this game is actually very good and enjoyable.
Definitely had a lot of technical issues. Definitely a great game. I LOVED the combat and got very fluid with it. The combat actually feels similar to God of War but I liked it a lot more.
Not even close to god of war combat, the parry is only similar thing. (imo)

If you don’t personally enjoy the game that’s fine, but if you’re gonna say it’s “forgettable” when the majority of people loved this game then you have to back it up.
But of course you’re likely just a troll who has never even played the game before and simply thinks it’s quirky to be different.
Besides frame rate drops I didn't have many technical issues on console. I loved collecting new cosmetics, so it's really interesting hearing how different our experiences were.
Same here; Frame Rate Dropped if I put it in Quality Mode and 1 single Crash during the Walking Through the Laser Cannon Thing scene before the Rayvis fight. _And that crash only occurred _*_after_*_ the first big patch._
Same for me on PC, tbh. Had a couple silly bugs (for example, Magnaguard cloaks going wild, solved by just opening the menu) but I had a good time at Grandmaster and also getting the collectibles. The content felt interesting enough to make it worth it.
It’s crazy to me how trashed this game got for performance issues meanwhile FF 16 is getting praised up and down.

I really enjoy the slightly more mature tone within this game with the betrayal by Bode and Cal battling the dark side, the ending as well I love the fact how much more depressing it can be and how it contrasts the ending to Fallen Order. Fallen Order ends with Cal not achieving his goal but still having people he cares about with him whereas Survivor has with Cal achieving his goal but losing people he cares about in the process. A bit more of a sad ending and I love the game for that, getting me really hyped for the sequel, oh wait Hype Makes You Stupid my bad.
If you want to be hyped then be hyped. Don't ever let anyone and anybody tell you otherwise. 😊

Technical issues definitely prevented me from wanting to complete more of the game. Eventually, I just got sick of exploring if the game was gonna bug out. Just mainlined the story close to the end and stopped playing once I defeated the final boss
I had the same problem. I was enjoying exploring and stuff but I'd only get to play for a few hours before the game would start crashing. I stopped enjoying the game because I always felt like I was in a race to get to a checkpoint before it crashes and I couldn't enjoy cutscenes for fear of crashing during them which happened a few times forcing me to watch the entire cutscene again just to see the last minute or so. I also had to do the spamel run like three times. I was too infuriated and exhausted with the whole thing to enjoy the game as much as I probably would have otherwise. I didn't have too many performance issues though, no real stuttering and such. I do think I had some visual issues even though I have a beast of a machine and everything was on max. I had to turn off raytracing I think it was because that was causing major issues and doing so stopped my game crashing as often.
Same, I tried going for a new game plus run but the absolute dogshit ass monkey performance was too much to bear. I don't even know how I managed to go through with it enough to finish the main story at all.

At 22 minutes when you are talking bout why bode can't go anywhere else, it's safe to assume that there isn't. If his main goal is to protect his daughter, then he ain't gonna go to any planet controlled by the empire, which is most of the inner rim. Then you got the outer rim where the emptier barely goes cause of the fact it's so lawless. Youd be living in fear no matter what you do which probably isn't the best for your young daughter. So makes sense he fought tooth and nail to try and succeed, kinda admire him for it

Jedi Survivor to me was an improvement over the last installment. I thought the combat system was fluid as well the story. Luke Stephens always delivers
My main problem with this game apart from the criminally flawed optimization is the navigation and level design. Not only do climbable and non climbable structures look identical but there are many platforms, walls and structures that look walkable when they aren't. You can easily reach them by jumping but you die from falling though the floor. It's inconsistent because other times they add so many lazy invisible walls or kill zones that you feel caged. I think the spamming of shortcuts is a band aid solution to the problem of navigation being tedious more than challenging, but fun.
I haven't had this much trouble finding my way through a level without constantly opening the map since I was 6.
I was busy with another game when this game released, so I figured I'd let this one slide for a while. Given the performance and technical stuff, I'm glad I waited but I'll probably wait a good while longer, especially as this year is stacked. I enjoyed the first game and this one looks even better, but I'm willing to wait for further improvements, particularly as I'm on PC.
God I really loved this game. I enjoyed Fallen Order, but wasn’t expecting or even really craving a sequel. When Survivor was announced, I was legit excited to see where they’d take the series and I was not disappointed.
I played it on PS5 and luckily any performance issues I experienced did not hinder the overall game for me as much as it did for other. Some frame rate drops and screen tearing were the biggest issues for me and only had one or two hard crashes, but the core game itself really pulled me in to the point where those issues were not a major deterrent for me.
Respawn was able to deliver on creating a legit amazing sequel, but was hindered by upper management (either in Respawn itself or EA) making them rush the game out in the state that it was. I feel like, if the game didn’t have its issues, we would be talking about this game as a serious GOTY contender. I cannot wait for the follow up to this game, I just hope that EA allows Respawn to cook like they did for this game, and allow them to complete their vision of this story without bogging it down by interference from management to rush the game or even to introduce some type of monetization (which thankfully was kept out of both Fallen Order and Survivor).
11:02 He had not been friends with Bode for years, they just met at the beginning of the game. He was a new recruit for that job. Didn't see the betrayal coming, but I did think he may die.
13:12 Merrin totally did talk to Cal about it after choking the ISB commander while still under the effects of the "rage".
Outside performance issues, My biggest issue with the game is there's a severe lack of itemization and rewards to make it worthwhile. Like, in Elden Ring you venture around every corner because there might be a weapon, a spell, an upgrade item, and so on. There's nothing in this game but shitty cosmetics I don't care about, currency to buy... worthless customized skins and some perks. After 10 hours I just didn't see the point in anything but the mainline quest. The bounties seem cool, but they literally reward you with nothing. Exploration and platforming is cool... but unless you get a rare stim upgrade, it's all still pointless.
Same goes for leveling up. Most of the skills in the game are pointless because the force meter is terrible and pointless. I got all the stuff I needed within the first 10 hours. Leveling up offers nothing, and having to re-fight enemies is pointless to this end.
I was looking forward to this game so much. I had to play almost two playthroughs to get the bounties to work. Even after patch 1.06, the final two bounties wouldn't trigger. This resulted in running through the game as fast as possible on my second playthrough just to finish things up.
That plus the performance issues took this from an easy 9/10 for me to a 7.
Unfortunately, it also took Respawn off of my 'preorder without question' list.
I didnt have THAT big of an issue with the map. Its similar to returnal’s maps and it was very useful to me. I get that its a big clunky and confusing at times and there were bugs with the zoom and view controls when using the map but overall i used it very often and it was effective at guiding me. I do agree that it could be wayyyy better though, there was basically no difference between this and the first game’s map system.
One big thing I noticed on Reddit/Twitter was a LOT of people didn’t know that you could get more healing stims in the first game. Big reasoning for why there’s so many in this one. 42:10
Personally i had it way easier than you seem to when it came to the map, its not perfect but i could read it well and didn't really feel like it wasn't enough, it follows star wars lore and is kinda just a product of the universe. I find maps like the one in ark where you can't see yourself so you need to already know the map like the back of your hand way worse because it actively makes me disregard the map in every way because I don't have a real use for it
"Get gud" is applicable to DS games because they're ABOUT struggle, the whole point is the struggle against purposelessness and the progression from nobody to somebody. "Get gud" doesn't mean there's some minimum standard of skill to reach, it means that the process of getting good, of making progress through the repeated testing of your own determination against a world that cares not for you, IS the point. Heck, someone who can effortlessly beat any opponent, is failing to 'get gud' because they're not forcing themselves to make progress, they don't need to 'get gud', because they're already there. You know who IS succeeding at "getting gud"? Somebody who keeps at it, no matter how many times they're beaten, just getting a little farther with each turn (like a drill).
That's all DS stuff, though, not SW stuff. SW is about how radical it is to blow up space-nazis.
Was unable to walk through some large, but clearly flimsy-looking, foliage that was placed in the middle of a path about 30 seconds after landing on the first planet. This told me all i needed to know about the dev team's design philosophy. Uninstalling fixed the issue.
I had next to no issues on my PS5 and I had the game on launch. Only had bad frame rate once in the entire game
I played through the first 10% of this game on Grand Master, and then realized it was a waste of time so I switched to Story Mode.
My #1 complaint is the strict application of Dark Souls combat.
All I really want is to be able to interrupt my attack for a block/roll, I know you can't do that in Dark Souls and so you have to be very careful about choosing when to attack in those games, but if I'm a mother f**king Jedi then I expect to be able to interrupt an offensive swing to block lasers.
I know for certain that this aspect of combat is effectively broken because it's still frustrating even when I use the accessibility options to permanently slow time to 30%, and the dual blade stance has so much lead time into any basic attack that you're CONSTANTLY punished for just trying to do a simple strike because apparently Cal has to do a triple spin animation before he hits anything.
Which makes it impossible to have fun with the cool dual blade stance.
It genuinely feels like the single blade stance is mandatory for this game because it's the only one that practically fits with the combat, at which point the ability to change stances is pointless to begin with.
Wait, no. Do not buy the game if it "still doesn't run without problems." Vote with your wallet and buy finished products. Stick to your mantra "hype makes you stupid" so do not be satisfied with an "OK" game. Wait, save your money and buy it when it f-i-n-i-s-h-e-d.
Love this game and hate the performance and stability issues at the same time.
I would have given this game a 9/10 but the performance issues drag it down quite a bit to more of a 7/10.
Get this game on sale with awareness for the performance issues and I could see you having a good time.
The game is enjoyable, and I agree as a progession from Fallen Order it feels like a successful iterative step forward - you do feel like the 5 years (narratively speaking) Cal and the other companions have grown and gained power. Progression from game to game and within the game were great
But the plot/story sucks makes v little sense IMO especially when you beat McGuffin Guy and go to the place. It doesn't make any sense, there is nothing about the place or at the place that justifies his obsession and it just felt like a complete let down to me.
Games coming out broken has become a plus to me. As long as it's broken, its the perfect motivation to NOT buy the game. And the longer it sits on the shelf, the cheaper it gets. Therefore, by the time all the patches that fixes the game come out, the game is already on sale. That's how I got a workout copy of Cyberpunk for $25. Broken releases can benefit the consumer and hurt the corporations like this.

I was bummed when I had to stop playing it 10 hrs into the game. The fps gave me a headache, like a strobe light, and with that awful map going in and out in and out of the map just crushed me! i deleted the game and threw it aside til they fix it.
50:25 The "rewards" for exploration reminded me a lot of Hogwarts Legacy, mainly just cosmetics and nonsense to seem like you earned something useful, when in fact it won't make your life easier in any significant way
I would say 60% of the time the game works and in that part I really like it but I’m the 40% it doesn’t it’s just infuriating when you’re facing a boss

1:08:16 i have to say I don’t like rating a game with a single number. There are too many aspects to a game that make the experience good or bad, so I would love to see reviews not submitting one final score but to rate a game in different aspects and give a score for each of it. That way you could give the game credit for the strengths but also give a low score in performance.

I 100% the game and it’s nowhere near as bad as some people are saying it is, the only real issue is the frame rate and even that is consistently over 60, which is not bad.
Comment on the BD-1 commentary, you can use him before combat starts to take over robots which can help a ton on higher difficulty

For some reason one of the biggest issues I had with this game is that every fucking boss battle is in some sort of circular arena or room
I think in the next game, Cal is going to get that development of understanding Bode more. I think Kata will be like a daughter to Cal and i think shes going to show force powers and Cal will be faced with training her for her own protection, but understanding the risk that this puts her in. I think that he will face decisions where she is in danger and he must struggle with the darkside in that way and maybe find a balance like using the stance Vaapad like Mace Windu which in cannon taps into the darkside while balancing it with the lightside of the force. I think itd be cool for them to incorporate different lightsaber stances beyond like the daul weild, crossgaurd, ect. But the different stances in cannon that jedis use and have different pros and cons. Hopefully theyll find a way to give you access to all of them on the fly like Ghost of Tsushima and make them benefit different enemy encounters. I know thats a lot, but i think if this game takes another step forward like Survivor did from Fallen Order, i think its very possible.
i really enjoyed the game, was fortunate to avoid most of the performance issues (I think because AMD loves stuffing VRAM in their cards). Its really gorgeous in some spots, and I always love a good native photo mode. I do wish there were more planets - I think Koboh was needlessly large, especially because it wasn't very visually interesting. I liked exploring coruscant way more because it wasn't just another grassy planet. I also remember that the difficulty spike between knight and grandmaster was massive, almost like they needed another difficulty tier between them to hit the sweet spot.
I’m hoping the fact that they’ll almost certainly jump to UE5 for the the end of the trilogy and the backlog of assets they can implement that dev for the third will go more quickly . I think that bodes daughter will be a kind of padiwan/daughter to cal and merin and cal will have to face that threat of loss and dealing with his dark side up front. It seems tropey but they set it up and I wouldn’t be mad if they can execute it well

Two things I would say about this is I didn’t find Bode’s reasons for betrayal that good he could have hid his daughter on Tanaloor with the hidden path. In fact it would have been better for her instead of her being isolated and alone. My second point is a big positive I love how you didn’t get all your skills reset (other than the stims) unlike many games which give you a bs reason for why you no longer have your gear or abilities any more.
The reason Bode didn't just 'pick any random planet' is that he is a combination of duplicitous and obsessive. He makes an irrational extreme decision that not only kills other people but actually endangers his own child because of his obsession with absolute control of the people and situations around him. He wants Tanalore bc it's the most extreme solution. The Jedi being there means he can't control the situation and Kata's safety. His dilemma is meant to be sympathetic, but he makes very bad choices. He is another reflection of how Anakin fell: Jedi are egotistical controlling warriors and it's a short walk from "protect my people" to mass destruction and death.
I even think that if he had just surrendered Cal probably would not have executed him, but that was intolerable and Bode had put himself into a box where he had no ending but death.
If he hadn't taken the compass, only betrayed them then left somewhere else in the galaxy, I really think Cal would have let him go.
Even so, I think Cal's decision to pursue this place as a goal for the big rebellion plan is going to be a problem for his own journey in the next game. This is a foreshadowing for Cal's own potential fate.
Bought this game on the 13th and just finished it earlier today. Happy to report with my ~30 hours on the game I only ever encountered 1 real bug which caused me to fall through the ground once . Glad I waited awhile after release to dive into it, I was a huge fan of the first one and I thought they did amazing with this one. I was extremely invested into the story and super satisfied with how it ended. Can't wait to see what they have planned for the next one!

I will post this on every Jedi Survivor video I can find. This game is a scam! My computer specs are well over twice the RECOMMENDED hardware yet I can't run it. Why? It utilizes only 20-ish percent of my CPU and only slightly more of my GPU. It's completely unplayable!

I’d say that while I definitely I understand where you are coming from I don’t think it’s that simple. The fact they got human dismemberment in speaks volumes. Using the dark side as well, which not crazy could point to an even darker and bolder 3 entry in the series. Or not Idunno 😅

Right where you take control of Cere is where my save file got corrupted. It sucks so bad. I spent the weeks leading out to the release replaying Fallen Order - completed it the day Survivor launched - and have been playing that ever since. Until now… so if anyone has a save file that happens to be around that chapter - chapter 5 or 6 I think - I would really appreciate the hookup.
Is it just me or is the narrative regarding Bode's decisions in the game a bit weird?
I mean, to me it came across as the narrative is written as if Bode really was in the wrong in doing what he did. For example, the chat about Bode between Cal and Merrin at Nova Garon in the post-game really explicitly underlines that Bode was not justified to do what he did just because he wanted to protect his daughter. Also the fact that Cal, Merrin and Greez kind of just adopt Kata after killing Bode is very, very weird to me.
When you unlock the grapple launch pad a blue energy thing is supposed to appear and time slows down, it did once for me and one jump towards the end took around 40 tries with no way to beat it I just got lucky once doing nothing different from before

Yeah i have 3060Ti and i5 9600k and it works fine most time in 1080p on high(i have video on channel) except CPU demanding places like town on Koboh but this game is CPU bound on pretty much every CPU unless you have i5 13th gen or AMD 3D CPU.

I do think Cal understands Bodes motivations because a.) He was more or less in a similar situation when Jaro died b.) Anybody with a heart could understand why someone would do something like that for their child as bad as it was.
That being said, as a father to be, I didn't agree with Bodes decision. I felt he had a genuine bond with Cal and if Bode tried to explain to Cal what was going on they could have worked out a solution together. I empathize with him wanting to save his daughter, that does not excuse him betraying what is essentially Cal's family. People DIED. That's fucked up.
This game simply was not designed with Grand Master mode in mind. Too many things one shot you, enemies have insane tracking, almost every single encounter is a gank fest with a million attacks flying at you... and this is all before I even get into many cheap boss mechanics. There's something severely imbalanced with your game if the difference between two difficulty levels is 50 deaths vs a couple. Jedi Survivor would've played much better if it was purely an action combat game with arcadey mechanics where you can run head first into crowds of enemies and pull wild combos and force skills.

He didn't want to fight or be at a military base cause sooner or later (i guess cal & crew weren't paying attention but Tanalore was attacked b4) the empire will find & reach them like the past civilization that attacked it did & they didn't have no key, compass, ancient space lazer. The empire has planet killers.

Bode wasn’t working with Cal for years. The Coruscant mission is the first mission he does joining Cal’s crew. Everyone else in Cal’s crew has been with Cal for a long time during the 5-year gap but not Bode. Just pointing out that lore bit u misinterpreted 👍

This game was an amazing experience (in my opinion). The game had such a grand and cinematic approach that was really awesome to see! I played on ps5 on a big TV and a high-end home theater, and the soundtrack, sfx, graphics, cut scenes, basically just everything about it sucked me in. Despite a handful of bugs, I genuinely enjoyed this game. I can't wait to see how they conclude this story.

I really really liked this game, but the fact that I had the bug which wouldn't let me unlock the bounty hunter tree really made me feel like I'm missing a cool part of the game. That definitely colors my reception of this game overall.
When he says he can't stand the mini map and kept going on about it. I was confused, what mini map? The game doesn't have one. - Only to realise he meant the map you pull up and not a tiny map that stays on screen, either top or bottom corner. I know, that's me nitpicking, but a map that goes across your whole screen is not a mini map. 🤷♀

Bode wasn't a friend for years, where did you get that impression from? He is literally referred to a 'new guy' lmao. He has been working with Saw and the group for a while but Bode is pretty clearly new to the group. Not sure where the confusion on that was.
this games story was a pretty big step down from Fallen Order. Merin's stupid Olga Gurlukovich accent became so grating only an hour after she entered the game. Combat was a messy shitshow in groups but still fun
Maybe in the next game we Will see a full dark inquisitor Cal, and we Will find out that the visions of the First game were Just the future. And the game will turn into force unleashed 3
I didn't have any technical issues on my xbsx at launch. Shame people suffered issues. But i had a rather great experience on day one

I like how Infamous 2 did it with good/bad karma. Making a choice for one side or another changed the powers you were able to use.
I love this game. At first it ran ass and crashed on my twice after getting control on Coruscant, I refunded it but bought it again 6 months later and I had no more performance issues. I'm just right now playing my third play through, now I intend to 100% the game.
Great game that really does improve on almost everything of the predecessor. Good stuff. The only real Star Wars that we got left. Hope SBI and similar nerd haters won't filth over the sequel.
I really hope the sequel to this runs on Unreal Engine 5. It should negate the need for DLSS/FSR.
Played it to 100% as of april 2024 on xbox. No crazy bugs. Fell through the world twice, though, I think. No frame drops. The game looks beautiful and plays great even when not in performance mode.
Also, get better. Played on grandmaster. Its not crazy hard. You just have to fight smart, use the force, and play slow. And the 12 stims are pretty helpful too. Didn't ever feel the "need" to use Cals darkness. Although I didn't like being forced to use it during the Bode fight and then not even keeping you in it after the cutscene. Loved all the side quests and bounties. I just wish there were less monster fights and more humanoid fights.
Also, the crossgard stance pissed me off. It doesn't make any sense logically as a weapon in Star Wars at all. And I'm not whining about the little blades. I'm whining about how it's slow as fuck. Its shorter than the double bladed saber and technically should be less wieght that the dual weild since you're using it two handed. And absolutely none of that should matter because the actual blades should barely weigh anything. It's just retarded.
Last bit. No idea where you got that Cal and Bode were best friends for years. I got the impression that the first start of the game was Bode's first mission with Cal's crew, whom he had worked with for years. Bode was asking about payment and everything. And was making jokes about if he made the cut to join the crew.
With all that said, it wasn't that surprising when he betrayed Cal, but I was surprised that he was a jedi.
All in all. Absolute loved the game. Down to the force tears and exploration. The story was good, not great. But i think it was a great second chapter to Cals progression as a character and a jedi.

And my new brand new series X and series S runs with DRS at 900p , 860p , 1080p , why are only people complaining about 60fps when Xbox new resolution is less than a 1/4 of LAST GEN.. f 60fps, I want native 4k back games objectively look better on my Xbox 1 x running native 4k. I feel I wasted £1000 this gen
I think the holomap is okay, and it was okay in Fallen Order as well. It is not that hard to read, at least to me.
Jedi: Survivor is quite possibly the worst game of the year. I built up incredibly unrealistic expectations because I loved the first one but I curbed them because Jedi: Fallen Order had MAJOR issues at launch…..stuttering, FPS drops and audio sync issues. However, I didn’t think that Respawn would do it AGAIN. It’s absolutely offensive that they think the launch was acceptable and it’s still not fixed. On my 3060 rtx, I still have major FPS drops on 1080p. It’s disgusting and this game should’ve been delayed indefinitely.
Playing this game on PS5 is infuriating regarding graphics. Graphics mode is supposedly 4k, but looks like 1080p upscaled, at 30 fps which stutters noticeably. Performance mode says 1440p 60 fps, the framerate does feel better, but visuals looks like 720p upscaled. The edges of every character is a garbled pixelated mess. Really disappointing considering I bought the ps5 and a 4k TV to experience the max level of visuals these games have to offer without the headache of PC adjustments. I'm considering shifting to playing multi platform games on PC making my PS5 feel very useless.
