  • This is a review of the Cold Steel “Ultimate Hunter” pocket knife. I use the same format I used in the last review by expressing my reasons for wanting to purchase the knife, and the reality once I got and carried it. I do some size comparisons, and I added some clips of me using the knife.

I absolutely love my Ultimate Hunter. I've owned it for over a year now. It performs better than all of my other folders costing almost three times as much. This thing is a complete BEAST. This ain't no pretty boy knife. It's made for Manly tasks. Thanks for the video my Bladed Brother ⚔️

mister smith Yeah, it’s definitely a performer, and at a great cost. It’s all about function, and not at all worried about form, although I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s an ugly knife. It is really up to whatever task you have in store, and more. Of coarse! Thanks for watching Brother🗡

I never understood why so many people are terrified of a proper sized Knife. Oh it’s too big, too broad, too long, too heavy. Sincerely WTF. Do you honestly actually never do anything with you’re knife other than open a package twice in a month or a letter.? I use my knives every day all day. I beat the crap out of them. That’s what they’re therefore. To be the one tool when you don’t have any other. You can’t do hardly anything with a 2 1/2 inch knife. Or you can do a lot with a 4-6 inch one. Try slicing up an apple or peeling an orange, cutting up a potato and onion with a 2 inch blade. It’s a pain in the ass. Have you ever gone to a restaurant and they have a knife that’s about as blunt to the bottom of a coffee cup. I’m trying to eat steak. Not turn it into baby food. And spiderco are decent for what they are. But I will never own a Bitch made Again. And no I did not miss spell it. They sued cold steel 15 years ago. So they were forced to stop making the best knife I have ever owned. They cut up guns. Their political leanings in general are BS. But they even support candidates that lobby for more knife restrictions for the average every day person. They’re overpriced. yeah they’re pretty. But you don’t buy a hammer, screwdriver, box knife, tape measure or a impact drill because it’s pretty. It’s a tool.

I love my Ultimate Hunter, works way better for edc tasks than what I read various places. CS XHP has a great heat treat too, I've been surprised how well it does. I picked up 2 Lawman and a Recon 1too before the switch. The UH is definitely underrated.

Outpost 76 I agree.... definitely an underrated knife. I actually didn’t think I was going to like it as much as I did, and I have a feeling that this one’s going to stick around. Definitely a very functional handle and blade, and continues to impress me.

The same happened to me, I borrowed the one I have and ended up trading for it. Mine will be staying with me.

Action looks really smooth, I like it....also I like the blade to handle ratio, offers more control. They are hard to beat for a real user blade....

Witch do you prefer between the American lawman - recon 1 - ultimate hunter? If you could only have 1 of the 3

The American Lawman is the way to go. It has the best ergonomics and is just a great edc blade.

If you do lots of hunting and camping/hiking I'd go for the Ultimate Hunter then.

Cark Nelson -Hard to go wrong with the American Lawman, light, tough, and just a great edc for real blade

Cark Nelson I agree with these guys. The American Lawman is just a slimmer knife for the pocket, and the ergos are still great. The blade shape is excellent for edc, and much more slicey especially if it’s the hollow grind. It does depend on personal preference for sure though.... Recon1 if you like a longer blade with a slim carry, Ultimate Hunter if you like a stout handle and blade for extended hard use, and American Lawman for average edc.

MetalsForBrunch yeah man, I got lucky... it was just some retailer that wanted to get rid of it I guess. It was brand new, and had nothing wrong with it. I couldn’t refuse...
