      O was prescripted to consume husk for a few month, because of my stomach issues. Sure, it works but affects also tho whole methabolism. I stopped due to growing lack of some vitamins. Now I make husk-courses like one month in every four. Feel good. Thank you, Liah for the education you provide!

    I actually dont mind having acne. But when everyone around me, including my parents and family members nitpicked how horrible my skin look like, it affected more than having acne in general. I can't even go out because I get paranoid thinking I look that horrible, and if I do need to go out, I wear face mask to hide my breakout.
    Now I also look at myself in the mirror and pity how I look like.
    Overall, I hope if you have friends or family members undergoing skin breakout or any problems in general, dont rub it more to their faces. We know what we look like, no need to emphasize how horrible it is 😢

    This video could NOT have come at a better time!!! The gut is SO tied to so much included acne, mood, health, and even anxiety. After horrid cystic acne and antibiotics to treat it- I pumped up on probiotics, kimchi, prebiotics and yogurt. I ate so healthily for months and I didn't realize until this week that it was causing my leaky gut, gassy stomach, cramps, stool issues and nausea that I've had for months. I stopped for now and feel great!! You CAN have too much probiotics and the good bacteria can spill into the places its not supposed to be. All about balance! Rotate supplements, don't have too much (there is such thing), avoid sugar, and differentiate your probiotics.

    • @oressa
      @oressa 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Vj Kjean I mainly mean rotating strains of probiotics. It can be too much on the body to throw yourself all the way into a supplement. I also take fish oil (approx 2-3 x per week), vitamin c (few times a week, low dose), vitamin d, ACV, multivitamin (when I'm feeling low health) and zinc (just started) on a rotation. You have to try and experiment and see what's good for you. I don't attribute any of this to clearing my acne besides a good diet. And good skincare.

    I did my undergrad microbiology research project on the gut-brain-skin axis focus on eczema and acne. Would love to see the Korean studies on this topic, most of the studies in the US are quite recent within the last ten years. However this theory was actually discover about 80 years ago by two dermatologists.
    Also when taking probiotics people tend to forget to take prebiotics which aids its effectiveness. this does make a significant impact of how probiotics improve gastrointestinal health.

      Actually, antibiotics, when they are prescribed for acne, are to give hope for the patient to KEEP going with the real treatments. Those are tretinoin or azelaic acid and they can take 4 months to work, so antibiotics can "fake" immediate improvements.

    • @kklucybv101

      antibiotics are good to use for certain treatments, but after any antibiotics use one should supplement with pre/pro-biotics to regulate one's body micro-flora again, it's the same with people who get colonics done

      Rachel Sturtz hii which probiotics did you take??

  • @lablovelabx3
    @lablovelabx3 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Hi liah! I am also an advocate of inner health. I personally have been suffering from acne a couple of months a go. It's not the typical acne you would get when you'll have the time of the month. It's a cystic acne that is overly inflamed and always comes back. I tried a lot of skincare routines and have gone to several dermatologist. My painful inflamed acne stopped after my derma ask me to take anti biotics however after stopping anti biotics my horrible inflammation started to show again. I was really desperate back then I tried staying away from dairy and it kinda help with the inflammation's duration but it's still there. I was feeling depressed and unhealthy back then that I decided to have a life style change. I lower my carbs then started to exercise. I even gotten to drinking barley to help releasing toxins. I thought all is well until my inflammation again started but not that escalated as before. I stopped drinking barley to just check if that is the cause and then after just a week or two the inflammation stopped. After researching I found out that most of my symptoms has got to do with gluten intolerance. So now I tried to stay away from foods that are high in gluten like wheat. I am also doing intermittent fasting to heal my insulin resistance and take probiotics to help heal my gut. So far I am really satisfied as I feel much lighter, healthier and happier than I was before my life style change.

  • @Lumors
    @Lumors 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Food intolerances can actually be pretty hard to figure out. I know my stomach hurts from milk or coffee a few hours later. However, if the effect is mild and lasts for days, you might have a hard time with it. And for girls, it might also depend on which stage of their cycle they are in.

I tried all acne medications available but it was no good. I even tried many diets and advice but in the end i got some metabolism disorder and I ended up with even more acne. I love this look at how to treat acne. It makes sense how my skin cleared up even more when I started eating better. Never made that connection until now. Also for meditation, there are 5 minute guided ones on youtube if you want to start on short meditations and build it up from there

      giulia g, I understand!! for the past few months my period has been coming over a week late (compared to my normal cycle length) and I have had constant acne on my jaw and cheekbones :( when I usually don't have problems with acne. it's very frustrating :( I'm going to my gynecologist and might have my hormone levels checked.

    Liah! Thank you so much for doing this video I’m so happy to see gut health talked about more! It was only after seeing a naturopath for my skin issues that I found I had food sensitivities that really affected my skin and body. I’m disappointed to say the last dermatologist I visited was very adamant that food does not have any correlation to acne or skin issues. 🙄 My skin is doing so much better over the past year with dietary changes and adding in probiotics and natural vitamins. 🙏🏼

    this is absolutely true for me. I've always had relatively clear skin, until my early 20s when moving to a different country, having a crap diet that's very bread/pasta heavy, I broke out in demon acne (red swollen bumps with no head) that would not go away. Later on, through the process of elimination I figured out I'm gluten sensitive/ allergic. Switching to a gluten free diet totally fixed the acne and bloating! Till this day whenever I binge on gluten, the face demons come back!

    I was so surprised when I saw my dm that I barely even gave a second thought to in the video. I'm glad that you found value in it. I've been struggling with gut health for the better part of 2018 without actually realizing how much it actually affected my skin. Though my acne was mild it still took a toll on my self-esteem. Acne is something I've been dealing with for 3 years now, for the second time in my life (the first was when I was a preteen and that went away on its own) and it seemed like a miracle to me because my skin went from on and off bad and good skin days to being clear for the most part after I learned to deal with my digestive health. At the moment my digestive issues are still yet to be identified (most like leaning towards IBS and/ or celiac) however I have still found cutting out foods my gut doesn't seem to like and adding things like probiotics, psyllium husk and vitamin d to be extremely helpful. As my digestive system started to return to normal it seemed like almost overnight my skin did to. I don't know if this is what I will always follow but for the time being this is what works to get my digestive health to what it is and it is a lot better than what it was. Thank you Liah, it was actually you who helped me deal with my ever changing skin and reminded me to look inward and not just outward to look for solutions. I know that this video will be helpful to many people as your previous videos were to me and they will also feel this way when something will finally click and there skin won't have to be one of their first worries everyday.

    • @niji8428
      @niji8428 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      one thing I would like to add, I recommend whole psyllium husk over the powder. Only because the texture isn't as bad. Psyllium husk is an old gut remedy that has run in my family and I've grown up seeing my parents taking it not really understanding it until it also became something that was helpful to me and I'm really glad for it.

    • @niji8428
      @niji8428 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wafa Hussain I take it most days, so almost once a day, everyday, one and a half tablespoons, but if you're just beginning i would suggest you start with half a tablespoon and then see how much you need, maybe work up to one tablespoon (max 2 tablesppons).

      Desy that sounds miserable! I’ve been suffering from acne on and off for probably 8 years now so I understand how hard it is. One thing to look for in a probiotic though, is getting refrigerated probiotics. They are more potent and stable and are more likely to reach your gut than non refrigerated probiotics

      I can relate, last year I was taking accutane around six months and this year my acne came back and I'm feeling so bad about it. Since 2011 I'm struggling with this, so I decided to quit my treatment and went with a gynecologist, she told me something about what I was scared: pcos. I suggested you go with somebody that can study your hormonal levels and more. Maybe it's not just acne... /sigh/

    • @dizzydiz
      @dizzydiz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      María Rodríguez thank you for the suggestion but unfortunately i was also on birth control pills designed for acne and it made me moody and sick and unfortunately did nothing for my skin (took it for a good 6 months). My doctor also doubted its pcos but if my accutane does fail i will check it out!!

    I'm a 42 year old woman who has struggled with depression and severe anxiety which occasionally takes over my entire being. When this happens, my used to be flawless skin was instantly affected. 2 years ago I had a breakdown, which resulted in the worst outbreak of cystic acne alone my jawline and cheeks. These large painful cysts are angry inflamed lumps of misery, and descend in gangs. When they eventually healed, it left a plethora of PIE, PIH and boxcars on my face. I don't think I was ever without a minimum of 15 angry cysts on each side of the face until recently. My last hormonal breakout brought me "only" 8 for my entire face, and that is a vast improvement.
    I realised 2.5 months ago that my skincare is no longer about removal of acne, but had to be preventative, as was my diet. It was obvious my outbreaks were related to the state of my health, as the anxiety and stress increased cortisol levels which brought on inflammation, and my diet due to lack of mojo resulted more refined carbs and less veggies, etc. No wonder I had no chance! So little by little, I made changes.
    Skincare: be as gentle as possible.
    Food: cook from scratch and eat your veggies!
    Supplements: I'm taking high bioavailable multivitamins, zinc and copper, super-duper probiotics, the highest quality omega 3, and just recently started on adaptogens in an attempt to combat my cortisol levels. In a month I noticed a difference in terms of skin texture, softness and glow. When it was the time of the month they no longer were clustered or in large amounts, plus they healed much faster.
    All in all, your vid provides all the tools every human will need to help their skin to show that glow. And not only is it a superficial benefit, it will help them internally and mentally. Thank you Liah, for educating people that skincare isn't just skin deep, but requires a wholistic approach.

    My suggestions(it worked for me)
    1. Drink more water, 4-6 ltr
    2. Reduce heat generating foods like chicken.
    3. Apply Everyuth scrub and Everyuth peel-off once in every week.
    4. Use a soap which is rich in lime content EG- cinthol lime fresh.

      When I think about it, it seems very confusing and unlikely. That being said, I have no acne on my forehead(get it very rarely). And I break out around my mouth only if my period cycle is acting up(so hormonal problems) and all the acne that I do have is from food, and it's on my cheeks. Always on my cheeks and always after I break my diey(which I have constructed from trial and error, testing different food, taking out products one by one and then adding them back and seeing how my skin reacts to what).

They make so much profit, but do not give those important tips.As a result the problem is not solved,due to it being within. thank you for this video, it really helped me.
