Controlled sugar, controlled fried/oily food, drinkingplenty of water and sleeping well will do half the job. Rest depends on how suitable enough the products you use are and how well you use them. and yes, be patient!
Cutting sugar (processed or natural), cutting all kind of grains and also cutting vegetable oils do the trick. If you don't believe, try this for a month, eating only meat, animal fat and vegetables, see yourself and thank me later😁

"Respect your skin and give it a chance to recover on its own". This is probably the most realistic and genuine video on skin care i have ever watched.
That's actually very common when you start using an exfoliant like a scrub or mask! When you start using an exfoliant regularly, you might get a heavy breakout first. That's because exfoliants stimulate cell turnover and kind of push out the remaining dead cells clogging your pores. Due to this happening "aggressively" this quickly builds up and causes whiteheads. However, after this "purge" this will not likely happen again (unless you stop exfoliating and forget about it for a long time).
Abdul rafay what you put in your body will always effect your skin, as well as every organ in your body. so if you put bad things in your body your skin will react negetively. but if you put good stuff if your body your skin will react well
Another great tip: avoid touching your face. Your hands could be holding any kinds of bacteria that could harm your skin/face. Also try to wash your hands as often as you can, it really helps you build a great hygiene.
I know.. when she applies products to her bare face I was honestly shocked by how good her skin looks, so resilient, elastic, clear, she definitely knows what suits her skin!
@wania umair Why? Because they genetically don't have acne and have good skin? What is good about that? It's easy to pretend smart when you don't have bad genetics.

This might be a very underrated or unknown secret, but what helped my skin more than ANYTHING ever before was getting tons and tons of fresh air. Especially cold air. I can’t even explain why or how but when I started to go for long walks, literally two or three hours each day, instead of going to the gym, my skin got so much better. Not only is it much clearer, but also looks fresher and healthier. Things you should note though: 1. of course you need to wear sunscreen 2. go for walks in areas where you most likely are alone so you don’t have to wear a mask, since that would have the complete opposite effect, unfortunately.
honestly that makes sense. I live in the Middle East but when I travel to the north Europe during the cold winter my skin feels fresher in a way. I feel like everyone I see in the north has clear skin too lmao
Don't say that 😭 We all have something out there for us that will work for us and we'll find it sooner or later to get rid of this devil called acne. Keep fighting!
Definitely talk to a dermatologist!! With all the treatments available nowadays, there's no need for you to suffer! There's a ton of retinol and retinod products that they can prescribe that can help with acne!
This is the first time I've heard someone say you can start anti-aging products too early. I'm in my mid-20's and I tried using retinol for a while thinking it would help prevent aging, but I honestly think my skin looks better when I use fewer actives and just moisturize it well, so that actually makes a lot of sense.
My mistakes that you pointed out were: leaving cleansing water on skin and using anti-aging way too early. I didn't know you were suppose to wash off the cleansing water because you were also suppose to use it after washing your face so I thought it meant you don't have to wash it after. I used anti-aging early because of my mom. Here in the Philippines we're a hugeeee fan of the korean industry as if we're literally obsessed; we started romanticizing bleaching our skin while those who kept their brown skin get called "dirty (-looking)". Apparently my mom also thinks the same and so does everyone around me, it's sad honestly.
It really makes me sad how people with darker skin tones are influenced by this beauty standard of bright skin being the "best" among others 🙁 You guys with darker skin are fricking amazing ♥️
Crazy how different peoples opinions are regarding skin pigment, I live in the USA and have naturally pale skin and if I don’t use self tanner or let myself get burnt in the summer then people tell me I look sick or dying 😂 maybe I do lol but that’s just the way I am!
As nice as it feels: The big (BIG!) Problem with silk sheets is the they cannot be washed at a temperature high enough to rid them of bacteria, germs and oils. This is why I prefer fine gauge cotton - 60 degree + Celsius wash and the gunk is GONE. - silk on the other hand: 30 degrees C.... below skin temperature = oils and filth STAYS on your sheets and thus on your linen. And therefore right back at your face. Yuk. Alternatively, try cotton satin. I personally had very good experiences with real fine 100% linen, make sure it’s fine and pure linen, not rough stuff. Linen cools down incredibly and absorbs moisture (up to 35%!) AND gets rid of the moisture very, very quickly!
You gave so much sound advice! I have to say that silk pillowcase tip is completely underrated but it WORKS. Once I switched over to using only silk it has majorly helped my skin be calmer and clearer.
7:20 (6/10) Okay this is actually true. I used to have oily skin, but when I began to moisturize my skin day and night, my skin became normal, not dry, not oily.
@@anushkathakur6486 no, it didn't. It actually gave me a clear skin, and usually gets rid of pimples in 2-3 days. If you suffered from acnes because of a moisturizer, check the ingredients. Disclaimer: the products below are stuff that works on me, but it doesn't necessarily mean it will for everyone. Like Liah says, the needs of people's skin differ from person to person. In the morning, I always use Quickfx's tinted moisturizer (cause I don't wear foundation). At night, I generally use Moringa-O's herbal oil, but I also have other moisturizers from Himalaya Herbals, iWhite, and Luxe Organix. Moringa-O's herbal oil isn't exactly called a moisturizer, but it moisturizes my skin. It was recommended to me as something that gets rid of pimples.
I live some where where temp can go above 35 degrees Celsius in summers so should I apply mistruzer or not rn weather is normal but slowly summers are comming🤧😪
Skincare mistakes: 1. Cleansing skin too aggressively/too long 2. Physically abusing the skin (overuse of cotton pads, towels, wipes) 3. Leaving cleansing water on the skin/not washing your cleansing water off 4. Treating all areas on the skin equally 5. Using a full range of active ingredients (ex. Acne cleanser, acne toner, acne serum, acne moisturizer at the same time) 6. Not moisturizing oily skin 7. Using way too much acne treatments 8. Using way too many products on your skin 9. Starting anti-aging skincare too early (too young) 10. TIP: switch to a silk pillowcase
AGREED MAN. My skin will literally start peeling off if I don't use moisturizer despite having oily skin, a lesson I painfully learned throughout my middle school years.
Liah this was life-changing. I've had sudden contact dermatitis on my eyelids and it persisted for more than 6 months. It has finally managed to subside after prescription creams and not wearing makeup since I've been in in quarantine. I never knew what the cause was. I threw out all my makeup products that I used before and it still persisted. Now I realized that it can be caused by harsh makeup removal which I was guilty of. Thank you so much for bringing this light.
Thank you sooo much Liah Yoo♥️.These tips really helped me out to heal my acne. I watched this like 6 months ago,,,I had lost all hope that someday my skin will ever be acne-free. I related to almost all mistakes she mentioned here😂-like skipping moisturizer for oily skin, washing my skin aggressively,or too many times a day, using acne treatments alllll the time, and damaging my skin barrier using abrasive scrubs... and then after watching this I decided that I should stop doing all this right away... I started using a very mild cleanser,a water based moisturizer and serum, using acne treatments only twice a week, and most importantly I started trusting my skin that it'll surely heal🤞.And now my skin has become quite acne free, zits occur only once in a month and quickly go away without leaving scars. To all those who are feeling down because of acne,or are having self-esteem issues,I wish that you find hope that your skin will heal, and that you are beautiful just the way you are.☀️♥️
One of the most informative videos I've seen on skincare. I've made several of these mistakes and am still dealing with the damage to my skin 2 years later with no end in sight. Heed this advice!
A tip from that will help or get rid of your acne easily is to #1 *DRINK A WHOLE GLASS OF WATER AS SOON AS YOU WAKE UP* it will help your acne since acne is mostly because of dehydration so this tip is actually really useful since my aunt told me this and she has never gotten acne (unless she eats a lot of fried food of course) neither has my mum because of that tip I hope it helped you :)
All I know is that my skin officially married the Great Barrier Relief serum. It has been a miracle to my skin, and significantly reduced the acne marks that left me self-conscious. I’ve been able to wear less makeup to cover my skin ☺️ I appreciate all your educational videos 🙌🏻
"Using retinol or retinoid way too early." I was 18 when I first used prescription 0.05% tretinoin for my acne. My second derm switched it to Differin (0.1% adapalene) when I was 21. I'm 22 now and my skin looks plump that I often get mistaken as a 17-year-old. 😄 It's okay to use Vitamin A early as long as it's supervised by a board-certified derm.
I will say there's this very underrated step that most of us miss, that is, giving your skin some time to breathe. I started leaving my skin bare for few hours after I take off my makeup.. before going to bed, I do my night routine. This has helped me alot with getting a smoother skin.
I used to have very minimal breakouts. I would have 1 major gigantic pimple once a month and that was it. However, I got greedy everytime I see pictures of other women with such glowing skins . That's when I decided to start applying products to my skin. The first product was green tea . I had been seeing people spraying green tea on their faces to refresh their skin and I thought that it was kind of harmless so I started with that first. How wrong I was. I think I sensitized my skin with that . After using it , I never stopped having acne. I have new ones every week . So this is kind of a warning to people with naturally beautiful skin . Sorry for the long post. I just really had to get it off my chest. It was my biggest regret in terms of trying to enhance my beauty.
Omg I'm addicted to cotton pad too. Recently my left cheek flared up with eczema. I got no choice but go gentle on my skin n it really helped me without even visiting dermatologist.

Yup. Big shout out to "Adam Ruins Everything" for showing that not only is this not beneficial for skin, but it is horrendous for the environment. It's not worth it. It's a trend that need to go away.
I use it for a while even I have to repurchase twice because I like it so much, esp from st ives one. And I have acne prone skin, I don't use them very often. Just once a week, cause I use Vit A (Tretionin) so my skin could be flakey sometimes the dead skins need to be scrubbed off. And my skin now is clear like babys butt
7:07 this is so true. I have oily skin and I used to use a very drying facial cleanser and I didn't drink enough water. My skin started to produce so much oil and it was very greasy that I needed to dry it out even more so that it produced even more oil. When I switched to a more gentle cleanser, used a moisturizer (I used coconut milk btw), and drank enough water my skin became balanced and produced the right amount of oil. I can also notice that my skin is slowly getting better.
I love you Liah.. Because of you my skin is getting better .. No pimple. No skin problems anymore .. I've been following up you since last year.. Thank you 😘😘
Hi! Currently, I have acne on my skin and my skin is oily. I neglect to moisturize after taking a bath. But after watching this video, I realized that I should be taking better care of my skin. Could you please suggest a moisturizer for me?
after watching your video, i realized that my acne had actually improved after months of me going on minimal face products, with small zits occasionally popping up from time to but but my overall skin condition was much much much better. i wished i had noticed this earlier. the skin deserves much more credits than these damaging skin care ads are portraying. i should appreciate my skin more after this. thank you for the amazing tipss

That's not what she said. She rather explained that you don't HAVE TO follow the recommendation but when you don't have combination skin or it's is hydrating/moisturating mask, you're fine 🤷🏼♀️🙄
I'm also addicted in wiping cotton on my face. Its just so satisfying. I also use cleansers often in a day because my skin gets very oily and i don't like the look of it (though it makes my skin look glowy, the oil tends to get too much and it makes my face look dirty.) I've also stopped using moisturizer because i thought it made my face even more oily. Watching this has made me realize I've done so many wrong things on my face. Hopefully, i get right back on track❤💞
I totally fell into the trap of not using moisturizer because my skin felt oily. I haven't used a lotion for years and tbh I think it did a lot of damage to my skin. Whenever I got acne it healed, but left dark spots. Also my skin because oilier, but wrinklier and tougher. I started using moisturizer for the first time in ages and my skin feels much softer and bouncier. It also just got rid of a lot of that weird oily, dry, flaky feeling. There's still skin damage from years of not using lotion, but hopefully it starts to go back to the way it's supposed to be with time 🤞🤞🤞
TIP 4 has made me change my mind about way to apply moisturizer. I used to apply more moisturizer on oily T-zone than other areas. As a result, my skin become oily and grease in the next morning. And I think i was the fault of rich moisturizer. Therefore, I keep switching moisturizer to find the suitable one but I did not realize that the the suitable for my oily T zone is not suitable for my dehydrating regions. Thank for your clear advice and example 🙏. TIP 10: I have learned that we have to change pillowcase often to prevent breakdown and acnes but my cotton pillowcase seem to absorb dirty things and it is hard to clean it properly. Change to silk one is so beneficial.
I love who so informative her vids are, like this should literally take 20mins or more but it's less than that cuz she goes straight to the point and I love it
Julie Thuy Dang good point, everything I’ve read says not to do it with active acne, or you’d be basically shaving off spots 😱 I was wondering whether it sensitises skin or anything like that. I think it’s always best to see an aesthetician or dermatologist to make sure any of the techniques you mentioned are a good idea for your skin.
I have very acne prone skin, and recently switched to more natural products. My skin broke out at first because of the change, but I also noticed that I did scrub too hard and in places I didn’t need to, so that could’ve also been an issue. Thanks for the tips!
Ive been watching you 2years ago and stopped since my life got busy being a new mom , you deserve everythingu have right now , u really know what u always talk about & u got so much much prettier than now, 💜
If Silk cost too much (it is pricey) you can opt for Bamboo instead! I'm still a college student so I gotta save when I can, but switching to Bamboo was a great alternative! It's similar to silk, in the future I would buy silk!
Additional tip for my fellow peeps suffering from acne: go talk to your dermatologist! Yes, there are many many things that you can do to help your skin, starting with the correct skincare (so Liah's tips are all great), a healthy diet, etc. HOWEVER, that's not always all there is to it! Some people are just genetically predisposed to getting acne, others might have hormonal issues that are causing it, and so many more things. That's completely normal & there's nothing wrong with getting it checked out and seeing if doctors might be able to help you. I know this doesn't apply to everybody but I'm just a bit frustrated cause I often hear stuff like "Just drink water and take care of your skin, then you won't have acne!" when that's just not true. People can live a healthy lifestyle, have an amazing skincare routine and still get acne. It isn't always that 'easy'.

YES i struggled with acne on my cheeks for so long and I was constantly switching up products, trying different cleansers, chemical peels, acne treatments etc. etc. and my acne would go away for a few days and then go right back to being really bad. I finally just decided to trust my skin, and stopped using everything completely and started just rinsing my skin with water in the morning. My acne has never been better. The acne on my cheeks has gone away completely. I still struggle with forehead acne but that's only cause I have a really bad habit of touching my face in that area. I know some of us need that extra helping hand with our acne, but sometimes just leaving your skin alone to do it's thing is the best solution.
I seriously believe that no matter how bad your skin is, but just keep the routine simple and Hydration & Moisturizing is key. Don’t go too harsh on your skin with those ance treatment products. If your skin is hydrated and moisturized, it will repair itself ❤️
Every skin is different. As a teenager i used not to do much except washing with water and I was good. Not to mention I ate what ever I wanted and did a lot of sports. Some pimples time to time, but it wasnt so bad. For recent year my skin has gone so bad, I started doing basic Cleansing/mild acids and hydrating plus moisturizing (nice mild Korean skincare), but except for first week, it's not much better. Plus I try to eat as healthy as possible plus exercise. Now I introduced myself some active ingredients and with few weeks I'm starting to feel difference. Can't wait how my skin will be in few months. I really hoped in the beginning that simple regime like you said will help, I gave time but it didn't.
You're such an amazing influencer! My forehead has fungal acne, so I followed all your suggestions in the fungal acne vid. They work really well that my fungal acne has totally gone. But I feel my forehead a bit dry... What kind of ingredients that might be good to moisturize but not causing more fungal acne >.< maybe next vid? Thanks so much Liah! Love ya!
Omg we're the same. I had fungal acne like as long as i know, i went to several doctor and cant get rid og it. After watching liah vids i only use fungal acne safe product. Now my forehead free of bumps and somehow it feels so weird still not get used to fungal acne free forehead 😅 Anyway, im using great barrier relief as serum and moisturizer, sometimes im using the ordinary natural moisturizing factor for night use and biossance squalane oil+vitc rose oil. Note that i have oily skin and i live in a humid area. But every skin is different so you'll never know till u try the product. Hope it helps! 😉
@@adyyda8293 maybe there are some other products that cause the fungal acne still manage to live.. What I did was noting down all ingredients Liah mentioned that might cause the fungal acne and stop using them. I also use BHA 2/3 times a week. It turned out that my fungal acne was because I kept using the same treatment for all part of my face when my forehead is not okay with some of the products that goes well on my other area of the skin.
I'm in my early twenties and I use a mild retinol because it also helps against blackheads, pigmentation and pimples. Is there an amount of times per week you could use retinol at my age? or shouldn't you use it at all?
i remember buying a Korean cleanser from a place called The Face Shop, and my acne started getting so much better right away compared to other products. And seeing the comments yah i 1000% trust this. XD
Oh and remember when using sheet masks NEVER I REPEAT NEVER leave it on for too long !! Leaving your face mask on too long can cause reverse osmosis of your skin and make you more prone to breakouts. Which means after 15-20 minutes, the moisture that was just put in your skin gets sucked back out into the mask ALONG WITH YOUR NATURAL OILS ! thank you & take care of yourself bitch 💋
This is so true. Once I was lying down with my face mask on and accidentally fell asleep. I woke up the next day and it was still on my face. Istg that was the worst mistake I ever made.
Every time I listen to Liah I feel like shes giving us hope that we only need to trust on our skin to always help nourish and heal itself Thankyou for your advices Liah ur the best uwu!!💕✨
Hi, my derma said I should not apply moisturizer on my dry patches because it may clog on my pores and can potentially damage my skin (pimples). I am still confused when should I put some moisturizer and when should I not? ☹️ Hoping for answer thanks! Love your videos ❤❤
ahhh this is honestly such an amazing video !! after watching this i realised that there were definitely things i was doing wrong, such as using cotton pads excessively to remove makeup, and using purifying masks on my entire face :0 also not treating my face equally; today i was in a rush to moisturise so i was being a little bit less precise and just rubbed it all over, thinking i might have actually even put too much. i did notice my skin felt and looked better tho, and after watching this video it proves that i wasnt putting enough or moisturising correctly !! so thank you so much for correcting me and saving all of our skins (literally) 🥺
Your video is really didactic, I will pay attention to the skincare mistakes I'm making now and try to change my habits! Also do you think washable cotton pads are better for the skin? In terms of smoothness I think they are , however I'm not sure if they are very hygienic...
That's what I'm trying to do for myself. Minimise and simplify my skincare. I fell into the trap of wanting to try everything and bombarding myself with ingredients and actives. It's hard, but I'm limiting the steps and products.

I've noticed I don't get acne when i just leave my face alone. Every time i do a mask or scrub or use products I start getting random pimples.

It really makes me sad how people with darker skin tones are influenced by this beauty standard of bright skin being the "best" among others 🙁
You guys with darker skin are fricking amazing ♥️

Woahh I never knew this! Thanks!
This comemnt deserves to be read by everyone because it is helpful. Thank you!
you’re supposed to hand wash silk items, there are soaps specifically for silk.

7:20 (6/10) Okay this is actually true. I used to have oily skin, but when I began to moisturize my skin day and night, my skin became normal, not dry, not oily.
Didn't you suffer with any acne due to use of moisturizer??? And if not then which moisturizer did you use?

Skincare mistakes:
1. Cleansing skin too aggressively/too long
2. Physically abusing the skin (overuse of cotton pads, towels, wipes)
3. Leaving cleansing water on the skin/not washing your cleansing water off
4. Treating all areas on the skin equally
5. Using a full range of active ingredients (ex. Acne cleanser, acne toner, acne serum, acne moisturizer at the same time)
6. Not moisturizing oily skin
7. Using way too much acne treatments
8. Using way too many products on your skin
9. Starting anti-aging skincare too early (too young)
10. TIP: switch to a silk pillowcase

I was 18 when I first used prescription 0.05% tretinoin for my acne.

I'm gonna take a wild guess xD You don't have dry skin?
That is so relatable :< and i regret it.

Uh oh
The reson your skin is oily is that you don't moisture cuz ur skin will produce more oil to hydrate
Also doing shadow work is very important, letting go of the root of the stress
Please do an updated skincare routine. Cause girlll your skin is flawlesssss 💕

good point, everything I’ve read says not to do it with active acne, or you’d be basically shaving off spots 😱 I was wondering whether it sensitises skin or anything like that.

Silk pillow cases? Wow! Never though of this. I adore cotton. Thank you for sharing Liah 🤗💛🙏
Gamechanger for sure!
If Silk cost too much (it is pricey) you can opt for Bamboo instead! I'm still a college student so I gotta save when I can, but switching to Bamboo was a great alternative! It's similar to silk, in the future I would buy silk!
Satin cotton is increadibly soft I love it. Silk is a pain to wash and to take care of.
Silk pillow cases are also great for your hair!
Me, im sooo dedicated to my skincare every single day, I’m on treatment for acne and even all of those can’t prevent my acne breakouts

Love ya!
She suggests moisturizers in the fungal acne video, and she has a moisturizer coming out this fall that will be fungal acne safe! Hang tight!
WOW Thank you so much for sharing that!!!

Armyyy
Liah's skin is so perfect 😍 it has improved a lot. I hope my skin can improve like her skin.
Hi, my derma said I should not apply moisturizer on my dry patches because it may clog on my pores and can potentially damage my skin (pimples). I am still confused when should I put some moisturizer and when should I not? ☹️
Hoping for answer thanks!
Love your videos ❤❤
I would say opt for a more hydrating cleanser and see if that helps!
Agree about everything.
I agree so much with #10. I hate it when my pillowcase creates heat.
I just have a question: what is the most appropriate age that we should start using anti-aging skincare products?
I would say about 29 you know approaching thirties.
Mid twenties is good enough
Oh no. I'm doing it all wrong. Aw. Thank you for this Ms. Liah
Take good care of your skin
ahhh this is honestly such an amazing video !! after watching this i realised that there were definitely things i was doing wrong, such as using cotton pads excessively to remove makeup, and using purifying masks on my entire face :0 also not treating my face equally; today i was in a rush to moisturise so i was being a little bit less precise and just rubbed it all over, thinking i might have actually even put too much. i did notice my skin felt and looked better tho, and after watching this video it proves that i wasnt putting enough or moisturising correctly !! so thank you so much for correcting me and saving all of our skins (literally) 🥺
