The intro for the first episode is still probably one of my favorite moment of the series so far. The eerie tension that’s created where he perfectly predicts what’s to come to showing the whole audience and host being speechless and terrified and it was incredible.
There's just something about his voice that makes people want to listen to him - deep, a little gruff, sexy, and compelling all at once. There is definitely a reason he gets hired to be a voice actor on a LOT of projects... but for me, he'll always be Joel and Booker.

Soon as I saw that Craig Mazin was showrunner, I knew this was going to be awesome. Troy mentioned the amount of detail they got right, and judging from how astronomically right the Chernobyl show was in terms of detail, it was absolutely no surprise he did the same here. Amazing.
Same! All my fears about how the adaptation would go were put to rest as soon as I heard Craig Mazin was behind it. I knew he would do a great job and I was not disappointed.
As someone who played the original game 6 times in a row when it first came out, I didn't know if Pedro was the right fit. Until I saw the Sarah death scene. Somehow, he made it hit even harder. I always thought it was a shame they cast Troy as James in the show. Don't get me wrong, I love Troy and he did well in the role. I appreciate that they wanted to give homage to the OG and give him a role in the show. But that's not where I would have slotted him in. I think Troy was underutilized there. I would have made him Jerry (for those who know). That would give us a little tease the first season and we the game fans would know he was coming back for season 2. Also I think it would be interesting to see him playing on the other side of things in a way.
Based on what this actor said, “The Real Joel Miller,” captioned needs to change because they are both Joel Miller. It’s kind of insulting to Pedro to phrase it that way and he does a phenomenal job as Joel.
Ah, it's just clickbait-y. And, in all honesty, I love Pedro - he's a phenomenal person and actor, but I honestly think Troy Baker did a far superior job.
I don’t think it’s trying to say that Pedro isn’t the real Joel Miller, I think it’s more trying to grab any potential viewer’s attention by making them think “Woah, the real Joel (the actor) from The Last Of Us is reacting to the show? Awesome!”
Random thought, but although I would like a possible TLOU3 to follow Ellie, another option I'd find interesting is if we followed Ish. Because since his notes were almost everywhere in the first game and he left the warning to not enter the sewers where Joel, Ellie, Henry and Sam exit from, assuming he survives past the events of TLOU2, it's plausible he's still out there, perhaps with some survivors from the sewer group (if any others made it out with him) or a new group. There could be a story worth telling there, imo.
That's fair. I just figured if they decided to leave Ellie's story where it ended in TLOU2, instead of an entirely new character we have no connection to at all, that Ish would be an interesting choice. As in some form, he was present in the first game. Or, if we took control of Ish for a portion of the game, perhaps he reaches Jackson and from there we continue the remainder of the game as Ellie.
@@goldensparrow5425 if they don’t continue ellies story which is unlikely i hope they would make a game about the early days of the apocalypse from tommys point of view where we are surviving with joel all the way until we reunite with joel back at the dam
Yeah, that would be interesting as well. Considering it's 20 years after Outbreak Day when the first game really kicks off, there's plenty of time in between that's left to imagination. Obviously at some point Tommy leaves Joel and goes off to join the Fireflies, so I'd imagine they didn't spend all of those 20 years together. We could get some gameplay of him in his Firefly years, working with Marlene.
As much as I think that John Hannah knocked it out of the park, I have to say I think the game had the superior opening. The fact that it cuts to the credits right after seeing Sarah killed was just so brilliant. You had that little reprieve to digest what just happened and then you have the time skip which is another slap in the face. The show, while done very well, wasted that opportunity
It's hard to get over how brutally they killed your character in the game, only to cast you as a villain in the movie and kill you off just as brutally again😢

My man Troy playing everything 😂
I just realized that he guy who plays Tommy in the TV-show, is the same one who plays the villain in Terminator Dark Fate.
Yeah isn’t that nuts? I was going through his IMDB when the show came out and was like… wait, what? This is the same guy?
I want troy baker's reaction on Death stranding
Would be awesome
I always thought it was a shame they cast Troy as James in the show. Don't get me wrong, I love Troy and he did well in the role. I appreciate that they wanted to give homage to the OG and give him a role in the show. But that's not where I would have slotted him in. I think Troy was underutilized there. I would have made him Jerry (for those who know). That would give us a little tease the first season and we the game fans would know he was coming back for season 2. Also I think it would be interesting to see him playing on the other side of things in a way.
After the last of us season two comes out I would LOVE an Ish side show/ dlc/ game
I would play the S**t outta that
I kind of want his insight on RE6. Say what you want about 6. But Jake Muller was an interesting spin.
Troy's best role was as the boss in Saints Row 3 & 4 I will die on this hill.
If ocelot had more timescreen in mgs v...
this was interesting
"youre gonna play James!"
"oh yay!...James?"
"Buddy Boy!"
"OH! :) ...oh..."
Awesome!”
I think they meant the original Joel Miller
I concur clickbait clout aside
“Everybody on that crew, that show, was a fan of The Last of Us.” INDEED. *slowly turns and stares at Rings of Power, Halo, and Star Wars*
I think another game that Troy Baker has done that would be a good medium shift to TV/movie is the Uncharted games.
that's the story of how troy became a stunt man xdddddd
Random thought, but although I would like a possible TLOU3 to follow Ellie, another option I'd find interesting is if we followed Ish. Because since his notes were almost everywhere in the first game and he left the warning to not enter the sewers where Joel, Ellie, Henry and Sam exit from, assuming he survives past the events of TLOU2, it's plausible he's still out there, perhaps with some survivors from the sewer group (if any others made it out with him) or a new group. There could be a story worth telling there, imo.
maybe a standalone game but i would be mad as hell if ish was the main character for the last game
What a hell are you doing with the cannibal troy, you are Joel too, jasjsajjsa
It's hard to get over how brutally they killed your character in the game, only to cast you as a villain in the movie and kill you off just as brutally again😢
He then trusts that the performance he gives is going to be used to its fullest benefit
You guys literaly got the brst expert unless you somehow managed to get neil drukman
Bro could play a live action Tommy
❤️
