This is the best making of i've seen in a long time. A lot of making of are mostly actors and directors talking about their experience. This one on the contrary let a lot of different crew members talk about the sets, vfx, sfx, music, sound effect, scouting the filming locations. And that is so rare and precious. I also like that they barely compare the game and the show in this, showing that tlou the show is it's own piece of art. Thanks to all of those who worked on the show and the making off, can't wait for season 2 ! (ps : i'm learning english, if my comment is unclear please tell me so I can correct myself)
the show and the games (and the comic, cannot forget it exists) You´re so right! That´s something that honestly unfortunally not many big companies/studios do sadly, so it is so empowering for those lesser known workers to be recognized for their work, even if their names aren´t mentioned. Behind a show/game and their directors and actors there´s always a huge team that usually goes forgotten

It’s really fascinating hearing the practical and digital working hand and hand. How there are practical elements, and those practical elements are then scanned and upped in quantity with cgi. Or practical environments and then the sky or the plane comes in digitally Hats off all around
Just simply the best series ever. And the actors and actresses are just brilliant And the effects are stunning so much went into making a great series and it’s Portrayed in every scene .
tlou2 is one of the best games I've ever played, it brought me feelings I have never felt for a game before, it was just THAT special, I'm not saying there aren't plot holes, which I think if more thoughts were put into those it would have made the game into perfection. I was literally left stunned the first time I finished the game, I have NEVER felt that for a game before and I played enoumous amount of games in my lifetime.
For us gamers we're still waiting for part 3 and now we're waiting for part 2 in the show. I hope they take as much time as they need on both to ensure that it's legacy as a franchise is assured
Working on a series like this must have been a dream! The respect that the filmmakers had for the original game really shows in the end product. The sets and Infected look incredible and the production teams have really delivered! It's my lifelong dream to one day work on a show or film with a production like this as well.
To have two such outstanding and moving video games AND now a fantastic series adaptation is incredible. How great to have the same people working on it with the same passion and knowledge. I love It! I'm looking forward to the next seasons to see how the adaptation of the much larger and more complex TLOU Part 2 turns out.
The environment in the show is actually just like the game...the show in itself is also not bad, but the game somehow has more emotion in it's cut scenes...and the tension while playing is another level

My daughter has never played TLOU and after convincing her to trust me about this she’s obsessed with it. Now for her birthday I got her a hoodie with Bella and Pedro on the back. It’s incredible to see her reaction and love the story as much as I do! Can’t wait for Season 2! 😮
Joel dies in season 2
watching the series felt like i was literally right back at the game man that’s crazy but beautiful to me ❤💙
I LOVE The Last of Us games, they've made me feel so many emotions, joy, sadness, anger, disgust. The show absolutely did the story justice! Amazing directors, producers, actors, the entire crew! If any of ya'll are reading this, from the bottom of my heart thank you!
so proud that they filmed in my city for this :)
I never expected a story about a fungy infection to be so emotional. Heartbreaking. Love the characters.
the story is about a father and a daughter and all the other people affected by the fungy, not the fungy. and I love it cause of that
This is the best making of i've seen in a long time.
(ps : i'm learning english, if my comment is unclear please tell me so I can correct myself)
the show and the games (and the comic, cannot forget it exists)
You´re so right! That´s something that honestly unfortunally not many big companies/studios do sadly, so it is so empowering for those lesser known workers to be recognized for their work, even if their names aren´t mentioned. Behind a show/game and their directors and actors there´s always a huge team that usually goes forgotten
1:40 this is so true i’m so happy it got a live action. my grandma loves the show
I've rewatched the show several times and now this making of too. The passion you all put into converting game to show is tangible, the amount of details impressive, the skills of everyone phenomenal! Can't wait for season 2!!🙌❤️ Much love!
I will never understand people saying Bella isn't the right choice for Ellie. Even going against advices and watching the game's playthrough is one the most Ellie thing she can do.
I love the games. Dare I say they changed my life. I've beaten them countless times, and everytime I restart them it's like the first time all over again. I get back in the headspace of when I first played. And I walk every inch of the maps and just enjoy the love that was put into making the games. I just feel like whenever I play again I have to give that love back. TLoU is king
This show is SUPERB!If you haven’t seen it?YOU SIMPLY MUST!It’s THAT good!!👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻🖤
its insane to me how i grew up playing these wonderful games of the last of us and knowing the fact that this game turned into a show is incredible, the last of us will always be my favorite games because the story line and the way the characters develop during the game is awesome. I really cant wait for the next season for this show its gonna be awesome and abby is gonna be in the next season oml im hyped
Such a masterpiece of a TV show. I've played part 1 but seeing it as a live adaptation is a thrill ride and still brings me very emotional moments. We hope that the succeeding series will be as seamless and provocative as what we have played in part 2.
completely and forever obsessed with The Last of Us
SAME I just rewatched for the third time ur internet mom ash`s reaction to the show

Pretty cool seeing my hometown in the show. The High Level Bridge is real and is used multiple time a day for freight trains and is over 300 feet tall.
It’s really fascinating hearing the practical and digital working hand and hand. How there are practical elements, and those practical elements are then scanned and upped in quantity with cgi. Or practical environments and then the sky or the plane comes in digitally Hats off all around
Just simply the best series ever. And the actors and actresses are just brilliant
And the effects are stunning so much went into making a great series and it’s
Portrayed in every scene .
This show was terrific and amazing and an emotional rollercoaster... I am so devastated that season 1 is over, I need more of it ^^
Thank you for giving us the game and the show! I'm a huge fan! Happy TLOU Day! 🎊 And happy birthday, Joel! ❤
When the studios bring everybody from the original game....always a PERFECT match for success.
This show was perfect. Really hoping for more seasons!
tlou2 is one of the best games I've ever played, it brought me feelings I have never felt for a game before, it was just THAT special, I'm not saying there aren't plot holes, which I think if more thoughts were put into those it would have made the game into perfection.
I was literally left stunned the first time I finished the game, I have NEVER felt that for a game before and I played enoumous amount of games in my lifetime.
It´s so amazing seeing aall of the crew from old and new actors to special effects professionals talking so passionately about this project
Well worth the effort Max I hope to see more shows like this. I’d love to see more video game adaptations. Red Dead Redemption
To know that both the game and show are masterpieces is just so satisfying
I just love they took some time to show Gustavo's musical creation in this making of, since Gustavo's soundtrack is a huge part of the soul of TLOU
I absolutely enjoyed season 1 definitely one of the best shows of this year 🌟
The environment in the show is actually just like the game...the show in itself is also not bad, but the game somehow has more emotion in it's cut scenes...and the tension while playing is another level
Gotta love the guy with the Zelda tshirt at 19:02
I already know I’m gonna cry so much while watching season 2
Happy TLOU day, this was one of the greatest video game adaptations of all time easily. Can't wait to see what comes in the future for this fantastic franchise.
1:30 This was my sentiment aswell as Troy's. My Wife was interested in the show, which she knew of, but she didnt play the game and connect with it the same way as i did. when it came to HBO, we both got to watch it together and i got to share the story i love so much with her. Thanks
Insane craftmanship in every field of work. Bravo!
please make a season 2 , miss this show soo much
The Last of Us is my favorite video game and its live-action adaptation was undoubtedly beautiful, the best of 2023 and it is my favorite, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are magnificent and did a great job. I WANT TO SEE THE SECOND SEASON 🤩🧟♂️🧟♀️❤
Great documentary, would love to see a full making of series for this show, it’s so interesting!
I can't describe how i love the game and the show now. Thank you
What an insane amount of effort from everybody involved! Thank you 👏🏼
All what we can say is just Thank you and you did really an amazing job!
14:50 Argentina PRESENTE SIEMPRE 🤍🩵💛🩵🤍🇦🇷🇦🇷
If only the Witcher Netflix writers could do a fraction of what these guys could do, we’d have probably ended up with a watchable adaptation not the garbage we were given :’)
Kudos to this team of incredible people! TLOU was a genuine masterpiece of both writing, storytelling and execution.
Rip Anna Torv. Breaks my heart to know she's no more 💔
Thank you guys for giving us such a great show for the time and effort you put to make it happen ❤
This is probably the best video game adaptation ever made, THANK YOU!!! This series was amazing and I was so worried that the game that I love dearly would be misinterpreted or fail to deliver the message and love that the game did, I was so REMARKABLY happy with how it has turned out! much love to every single person who worked on this
