I can’t believe S4 Akula survived the ADCAP - I’ve never seen that happen! Oh, and thanks for the shout out😊. It seems something similar to what I hypothesized happened to the Yasen.
This is a great way to end the series. Thanks, great job. Thank you, Tortuga Power. I look forward to your War on the Sea series or any of your future work.
Man your ADCAPs have giving you horrors throughout the series, i guess that's why it is an ADvanced CAPability, it does its job damm good! Nice end by the way, looking forward for sea power.
Torpedo 6 picked up the Yasen at the edge of its detection range and then had to go to a different depth, spinning while it did so. The Yasen turned and was just out of Torpedo 6’s range when it came back around so Torpedo 6 just spun until you guided it.
I don’t think so as I wouldn’t think they’d be classified necessarily as hors de combat. Unless they surrender, they’re still presumed to be able to defend themselves and, possibly, fire weapons. As an analogy, a surrendering soldier is hors de combat but a retreating soldier is a legitimate target. Similarly, a wounded, but still participating, soldier is also a legitimate target.
They were still capable of firing a torpedo at me. Well, in crazy game-world at least -- I don't think the game cares that their nose was out of the water :D
@@Hawkathon In reality, a surfaced sub that's already been hit is almost certainty abandoning ship.. but in a shooting war a opposing sub wouldn't easily know if a sub has surrendered or not, since subs going to the surface is a legitimate tactic against homing torpedoes (although not effective much more) because of wave noise perhaps throwing the lock off. They'd probably need to get to periscope depth and that is risky, so many captains would just hit it and be certain of destruction of the sub. Of course if you lost the war you might end up in a war crimes trial for shooting a surrendered vessel.
Thank you for the great series Tortuga.
Great series. Eagerly awaiting Sea Power!
Thanks James

Thanks wally, it's been fun to have you along for it.
Even a seawolf has trouble evading ADCAP. I would have crash broke until I got to 20, fired both mosses off then got back to running like hell.

The Yasen-M just imploded! That's a painful way to go out!! RIP to the Crew!
It's awful to see, but "they say" that such implosions are instant death and painless. I('d rather not find out.)
@@TortugaPower Right, it's instant death but I was talking about the overall situation, not a very good situation for final moments
Fun to watch the campaign. Amusing to see that your torpedoes are often your own worst enemy. Looking forward to Sea Power.
It's never been this bad before! I wonder if something changed in the updates since last I played.

Yeah I noticed that. It confirms the earlier comment about if they lose their target they spin.
Your own ADCAP always coming back lol
It's like the Mk14 all over again!
Do the rules of sub warfare preclude shooting subs that have surfaced?

@@TortugaPower I think they could also still fire their rocket launched torpedoes if they had any left.

@@bigpoppa1234 Good point. Certainly sailors in life boats or in the water are hors de combat.
You forgot the MOSS again 😂
I so badly want to learn to play this game , I die in my first mission lol
Own ADCAP strikes again!😂
ADCAP starts, also ends.
