Hi there, these are my games and I really enjoyed watching this and the warlords video. Glad you enjoyed the games. All feels like a long time ago now. That head flickering thing in warlords heroes wasn't there at launch but adobe made some change to flash much later on that broke it
1:04 holy damn that Stellaris screenshot is ancient. That's before the FTL and war rework. Before building star bases and borders were generated through planets with populations.
Warlord heroes is easily in my top 5 flash games of all time. The night elf whirling spear has forever set the standard for what i expect out of attack animations.
Warlords heroes was one of my favorites, and the idea of the other playable heroes joining as NPC's at tthe end was so cool to me. But in the default flash version the heads of any other npc did not freak out ever, and the heroes had their original heads as npc With Achilles i played it so far before anything Warlord that i never realized the games are so similar in looks, gameplay I did hear of Achilles, i think he was used in some media at them time and in multile RPG games i had as a kid. The movie Troy came also out when i was young, but i did now of Achilles at that point. I did like that movie at the time
Reaching *baaack* into the nostalgia pot. Loved playing Achilles, and had a basic understanding of the lore/mythology from other games such as Empire Earth. I also recognized the title screen's "Achilleeeeees" shout from the Troy movie. Man, good times.
Ohh I loved this game as a 12 year old. I was really into ancient Greece, drawing soldiers with hoplite armour, reading a book based on the Odyssey, watching Troy, 300 and Alexander... good old times...
we need more games like achillies I-II and warlords heroes i am looking foward to your mud and blood video. i hope you will give us meta tip about that game too. Its a bit complicated
Ben Olding is still making great games. Be sure to check out Starfighter: Infinity. It includes all the original Starfighter games! Would love to see a video on those.
Hi Eon, I am looking for a game that is a flash game where it is a colony conquering type of game, where you can play as different civilizations against other civilizations with god-like powers such as lightning storms and giant units that stop other enemies on its tracks to conquer your towers. Your towers generate units which you use to direct to opponent or neutrual towers. the art style was so incredible and i loved the theme of different civilizations, not sure if you would know about it but id like to throw this out there since you are a flash game OG!
Something that i always found interesting about this game was that it straight up used the soundtrack from the Hector vs Achilles fight from TROY it almost made it feel like a unlicenced tie in game for the movie also you really should have talked about Achilles 2 more here it had way more new additions then the once you talked about like the fact that it had voice acting and an actual storyline
For some reason I knew Achilles as like the heel guy because it's a common saying. I learned probably a few years later that he bathed and like the leaf landed on his heel, but I mean that still counts.
👏🙂 Omg I played Achilles 1 for sooo many hours when I was a kid. I didn't know there was an Achilles 2 released. I couldn't advance in warlord heroes because I was a noob. But it definitely looked epic. I knew about Achilles of legend because I loved reading about Greek and Roman myths and legends and movies like Troy with Brad Pitt Great video
this game bring memories of another game that was a kung fu 1x1 fighting game, i remember there was 3 games and in the the last one you could customize a fighter, i think was Dragons Fist or something like that, great channel
dragon fist - same developer (me) currently working on a VR dragon fist game with lots of the same characters as those old games (but maybe reimagined a bit)
Watching this footage triggered a buried memory in my mind, I can't quite recall but it was definitely a flash game about fighting characters and one of them was a monk who fought as the drunken fist, does this ring a bell to anyone?
Do americans really not learn about the romans and greeks in history?? I knew who achilles was when I was 7 years old orso! The story of the trojan horse is very well known... "oh its that one where they betray then by hiding in it right".
Romans and greeks are taught in history yes but not so much of their mythology greek mythos is taught mostly in elective classes so not all kids learn about them in the same way that not all kids learn wood working But anchient greek mythos is so popular i dont really think theres an american that doesnt know who Hercules odyseus or zeus are
As an american we learned about this in 3rd Grade. Everything from pre Mycenaeans and Linear A/B up to Modern day. I’m in a Red state so those that claim that we don’t learn these things either didn’t pay attention or had a horribly run curriculum
I always hoped for these series to become moddable Especially after hearing about a supposed expansion campaigns for Warlords Heroes (probably hearsay but one of them supposedly had you play as a human Halberdier)
Thank you for covering the flash games we used to play growing up. Can you cover the Mortal Kombat-esque one? Dont remember the name but it had Bruce Lee and Raiden. It is also a franchise of multiple games.
Great video, great channel, love flash games. If you’re familiar with the Sift Heads series or any Madness Combat flash games, I’ll definitely be subscribing and hoping for some videos on those next.
Armor Games had some sort of Japanese-style fighting game with an arena mode to it. I don't think it's there anymore, and I don't remember the name. Fists of Rage 2 or something?
You should definitely revisit the "Epic War" Series, especially the Epic War 3 as that was (maybe? Idk maybe just nostalgia) the most played one and tbh i never really played the other parts except for maybe part 4 a little lol! I dont know how popular or nostalgic that game is for many but it was along Sonny and Warlords one of my highest playcount Flash games as a kid.
There was another game similar to this one where it was a side scroller with platformer elements and a different art style. also greek themed. can't for the life of me remember what it's called
So I don't know how familiar you are with flash games, but there is one I've always wanted to find again, it was a side scrolling combat game like Warlords, but was set iirc during the conquests of Alexander, would you happen to know of it?
old flash game there nothing that can ever compare to them old gaming wasn't the same and will never be anymore now we are stuck with mediocre sloop full of season pass aka battle pass microtransaction lootbox etc... simple gaming full of passion something of the past now
A few games released in the last 5 years: Baldurs Gate 3, Ultrakill, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Deep Rock Galactic, Helldivers 2, DIsco Elysium, Cyberpunk 2077, Elden ring, Outer Wilds, Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Sekiro. Stop being a nostalgic boomer saying "back in my day things were better, today everything is bad". Any one of the games i listed single-handedly prove that good gaming does and will continue to exist.
@@alexx3847 I want to add Balatro for this year's release. As for a misc list of indie games to check out: Factorio, Dwarf Fortress, Rimworld, Darkest Dungeon 1, Slay the Spire, Kenshi, Star Sector, Broforce, Helldivers 2, Undertale, Dominions, Barotrauma, Ultrakill.
@alexx3847 How ignorant of a comment you left here. I said there will never be anything like Flash games anymore a single developer passion project, free game on a web browser with no rules, no filter, like the wild west of game-making, is just not something people do nowadays, and I don’t blame them. This era has passed. Now, for all the games you mention, yes, they are all good, but like I also said, battle pass and microtransaction, which Deep Rock Galactic and Helldivers 2 do have, is really bad for the future of gaming because it’s making those things a standard in gaming. Also, most of them are work of studios, not of a single or duo of friends making a game for the fun and passion of it, not for money nor fame. I’m not saying they’re all scum with no passion and that they want your money. I’m saying that the scene has changed and that it will never go back to that time. I can go on and on about it, but at that point, I think there are videos that explain what I’m saying way better than I can in a comment.

The man the myth the legendddddd your games were a huge part of my childhood, thank you for your amazing games!
@@AlphaNiner-yk8kh thank you! glad you enjoyed them
If I remember correctly:
The intro when loading the game was one of the things I liked the most "ACHILLES! AAAAAA!!"
Right out of the movie yep, always remembered it lol
I love your channel, its simple and yet it fill blanks in my childhood as I could not finish those games back then
same, it is so good.
1:04 holy damn that Stellaris screenshot is ancient. That's before the FTL and war rework. Before building star bases and borders were generated through planets with populations.
Ah, good ole times where you actually could choose different types of FTL.
@@Kronosfobiso... now?
Damn, good catch. I just saw Stellaris and that's where the reference ended for me...
Warlord heroes is easily in my top 5 flash games of all time. The night elf whirling spear has forever set the standard for what i expect out of attack animations.
I remember this fucking game. It shots me back to 7 year old version of me. Thanks for making me feel old when I am not even 20 years old
you unlocked my memory of cheese kicking the shit out of bosses hahahaha
"Spears>Swords" that's just historical accuracy.
Warlords heroes was one of my favorites, and the idea of the other playable heroes joining as NPC's at tthe end was so cool to me. But in the default flash version the heads of any other npc did not freak out ever, and the heroes had their original heads as npc

As a Greek this game was very good I spend tens of hours in this game😁
This game confused me when I played it, cause I could die in it, I thought I could just rampage across the world
0:35 i feel that so much after I revisiting old flash games. Makes you appreciate the simplicity of things even more, doesn't it?
You should do a video about the Zombotron trilogy. It would be great.
I loved zombotron!
YES!!!
I suggets playing zonbotron reboot!
@@ANATOLIUS_ROMANUM Already did, it is great!
Theres a remake of the first one on phones for free its really good
The second one and it's boss battles got me having SO MUCH FUN in my childhood years and the hours spent on Lan Houses.
It's amazing how much fun you could have with something so simple.
Here's to all those Flash games that fulfilled my childhood days.
Seeing the art style and animation of the game again brought back a core memory

Achillies, and Warlord and Warlord Heroes are my childhood.
Achilles and Warlords were PEAK
I remember Achilles and Warlord heroes. That was long, long, time ago.
Also I did know about Achilles before playing it.

As someone who just got back to Stellaris after years of being away, your speech on complexity hit like a jump scare. GET OUT OF MY WALLS!
For some reason I knew Achilles as like the heel guy because it's a common saying. I learned probably a few years later that he bathed and like the leaf landed on his heel, but I mean that still counts.
Thank you for covering this. One of my favourite time wasters. ☺️
I loved this game, still do. I already knew who Achilles was, because my dad is a huge history nerd and we watched a bunch of history movies together.
👏🙂

Ahh, good old childhood
In europe everybody learns greek mythology at elementary school
man you should really interview those developers of these games.
some guy did that with Conartist Games and it went viral.
i forgot about this game, troy was a good film that showed you the story of achilles
Especially seeing Warlord: Heroes, I suggest playing Odin Sphere, or with a friend Dragon's Crown
2:08 Not on czech keyboard, they are next to each other.

are you familiar with ‘tribot fighter’?
It really was
There was and on hd 3d-ish kinda achilles game 😮
You need to do a City Siege series video
Occam's Razor
Great coverage!! did you play Spybotics: the Nightfall Incident on the lego website by any chance?

Am i the only one that vastly prefers the older simpler style of ben oldings earlier games like warlords 1 and heroes or achelies 1?
I dont think i finished it fully
why this simple flsh game is more appealing to play hours rather than many profesional games of the last 10-13 years that came on the market?

Hi there,
I used to beta test for Ben Olding back in the early to mid 2000s. Have you reviewed Dragon Fist 2 or Dragon Fist 3?
thanks for your service
Can you check out Comando 2? It's like Metal Slug and i never beat it as a child
Andkon Arcade…
Robots vs Zombies the old, it might be interesting, please
Mnb2
How can I download that? It doesn't exist in Google play
where can i give them a spin? flash games are dead so steam?
This dev really loves taking his artstyle and completely ruining it in the sequels
