At 13:10 when you tried to hit the corvets the issue wasnt the accuracy of the torpedoes but the travel depth! Idk how you call it in english but due to the fact that corvets are very light their bows only reach about a meter into the water so your torpedoes just went under them! Aswell if you shoot two torpedoes the game messures the spread by what you picked, divides that in half and lets the torpedoes hit that far away from where they would have hit by default. Due to this fact you should never shoot torpedoes with spread when the ships are small! PS: The higher the angle of the torpedo the higher the likelyhood of a dud :)
Ah, so corvettes should be shoot at with magnetic detonator active? Recently done the enigma mission and thought it was a bug that the torpedo just went under the ship.

@molybdaen11 It's a big "Eh" using the magnetic detonators. I just want to say that the shots at the corvettes were spot on, it was just that you set the dispersion so high that while the center of the spread was right on target, the torpedoes were spread out so much they went on either side of the target.
@MaugriMGER Not the first two spreads, they ran right aft and astern from the targets, but with perfect spacing. The default setting should allow you to hit all corvettes in the game though, so unless he messed with the depth settings depth shouldn't be an issue. I think the last one just went right past, but the corvette sailed through the wake afterwards.
I'd definitely love to see more Uboat vids! This game reminds me of watching OneFJef's Silent Hunter videos and I'm glad to see the genre's still getting games.
I like how royal oak sinking in a spa flow is based on historical accuracy, but they just used a model of a completely different battleship class (HMS Nelson or HMS Rodney)
Dude, you are suposed to preheat the torpedoes before shooting, if you don't, they will very likely fail to explode even if the hit the target; if you haven't preheated them and are close to the convoy and haven't been discovered, stalk them some docen miles, it'll do the trick
Well, if you hit a boat with a torpedo at a very pointy angle, chances are that an impact detonator will not recognize an impact and the torpedo will just bounce off (that's why you had so many duds). Try aiming for a 90° angle if possible, or use magnetic detonators! And yeah, hitting tiny ships like corvettes is hard lol! And I can't believe you had such an easy time in Scapa Flow, I showed up at night, and there were so many destroyers and corvettes, and I hit a mine at some point. I barely got out lol!
Did it a few hours ago and it was really clear, sadly i went in with the first sub and basic torpedoes soo oak ate 5 and didnt have any left for the carrier
The battleship you sunk at Scarpa flow looks more like a Nelson class. With all its main armament forward. Given how important the sinking of royal oak was to the U-boat campaign I'm surprised the game developers made that mistake. That's my pedantic rant over looks a decent game , thanks
That percentage is not a chance to hit. It’s your solution to target (basically all gathered info like speed, distance, angle and its accuracy). The fact you missed was due to large range. For corvettes it’s hard to hit shots >1km. Generally it’s best to fire early game torpedoes from about 1,5km.
When I started playing Uboat a few years ago I hated on it, so I refunded. A few days ago after full release i repurchased and made an effort to actually understand the mechs and now I’m having so much fun. The game can create moments of extreme tension. At one point I had an entire battlegroup of ships searching for me after they heavily damaged my sub with depth charges. Apparently if you sit on the sea bed it disguises your sonar signature lol. So I got to work fixing all damage, before resurfacing once they all given up. Just doing that was super intense. My chief engineer was like the German version of Scotty from Star Trek haha.
Literally had such a similar experience, just got into the game, i think you can turn on the geocompass while under water plus the map withs salors to get unloss 😂
Try to hit ships directly from the side, you want the lowest degree hit possible. It's actually fairly rare to have a dud on the settings you were on as long as you hit the ship from the side.
Iguess its only FUN if you have German or Prussian Genetics. Telemetry and solving for X is something you are born with. Ive been playing UBOAT sims since Sierra Aces of the Deep. This is definitely the best . IMO it blows the silent hunter sims out of the water.
When attacking Corvettes (which you shouldn’t unless it’s absolutely necessary) they have a very shallow draught like 2meters? The default is 5 meters so your fish likely went right underneath them.
1:00 the odds weren't just stacked against Germany, victory at sea was impossible. The Kreigsmarine underestimated how much tonnage they'd need to sink each month to starve Britain out, only for a couple months of the entire war did they ever meet their own estimate, let alone how much they'd actually need to sink continually month after month for a year to drain the food stores of the UK to nothing and starve people. They failed to predict how much domestic agriculture of the UK would be increased as well. Less than 10% of all convoys were ever attacked by Uboats and less than 10% of ships in convoys were sunk on average meaning 99% of cargo that set off from America or Canada made it to the UK. The Germans actually got closer to winning a starvation tonnage war in WW1 than they did in WW2.

I love how we get an honest-to-God, genuine Dankus-moment with the ice cold torps😂
I really like the narration you did at the beginning, you should look into covering some important historical events in that manner.
I'd definitely love to see more Uboat vids! This game reminds me of watching OneFJef's Silent Hunter videos and I'm glad to see the genre's still getting games.
This video actually made me get this game and 20 hours in im loving it
I like how royal oak sinking in a spa flow is based on historical accuracy, but they just used a model of a completely different battleship class (HMS Nelson or HMS Rodney)
0:29 they just wanted their borders to look good
"Polish" land. As in Danzig, a region full of Germans that was german less than 20 years before the second war. Wow, very polish
dang it's been a while since I've watched some of your videos, glad you're still posting! Entertaining as always
This is actually a really cool video idea 👍
A "Community" reference in a video about UBOAT? I can die happy
I thought this game was cancelled or incomplete. It's been years since I've last seen footage of this game and I really enjoyed the gameplay
The battleship you sunk at Scarpa flow looks more like a Nelson class. With all its main armament forward. Given how important the sinking of royal oak was to the U-boat campaign I'm surprised the game developers made that mistake. That's my pedantic rant over looks a decent game , thanks
my favorite start is december 1944 in the arctic, its dark and scary.. almost horror gameish
"Im gonna play as myself" good vid ryan gosling
This game is on my wishlist now, thank you so much. Would love more content
The torps were to deep for those small ships.
Absolute banger. Need more of this
11:30 wait, Swiss ship?
Switzerland can into sea
Rivers, they exist
@@no-nx3ip you're telling me they went all the way through the Rhine to reach the sea? That's some dedication I can respect
Horthy would be proud
hoi4 swiss focus tree logic
This rules. I can’t wait to see this crew take on convoys
Imagine ww2 bobg barotrauma
Please make this into a series
Can’t wait for the rest of the series!
Subbed, I want more of this!!! Loved the game, great gameplay as well.
2:25 How tf does a 2024 game about naval warfare have N64 level water physics...
You convinced me, I just bought it.
I used to play Silent Hunter, but since Ubi went to shit I haven't. I saw this on my Steam page occasionally, but am very wary of early access games and didn't buy it. Now I have and that's just because you happened in a suggested video.
There is no glory down there, only pain.
British sailors laughing as a German submarine misses its shot by kilometers would be a whole vibe
Always preheat your torpedoes and if you aim beneath the shops, use magnetic detonator instead hahaha.
When in a bad angle better try magnetic than impact torpedoes. Also it sometimes rips the ships apart an sinks them imidiately.
i wish battlefield had something like this, where theres naval battle, with subs, air battles, tank battles, and ground warfare
