Rome doesn’t deserve that bad of a rap lol. Depending on how accurate Romes founding myth is, Rome was probably a Greek colony. Rome likely didn’t copy the Greeks, they probably were Greek lol.
@@milkduds1001geological sources pretty much showed that Rome is not a Greek Colony, the people that founded Rome COULD come from a Greek colony but a few huts doesnt make for a Colony, if anything its an Etrurian colony that centralised other Italics within its borders and develloped its own culture distinct from their neighbors by adopting Greek stuff as myth of origins really

The Etruscans are the first to drain the water away and cultivate the land that would one day become Rome and after their fall Rome came into possession of all the metals and minerals that made the Etruscans so wealthy and powerful.
The Gauls were backwards. If you know anything about philosophy and logos and how the Roman’s viewed themselves and the “barbarians” you understand the imagery of the French revolutionaries marching severed heads on pikes in front of a “body” of revolutionaries. In the ordered world it’s the “head” so “logos” that leads the “body” or “passions/ID” but with an over turning of that order what you have is the “body” or “passions/ID” leading the decapitated “head/logos” around.

The “broification” of history I think about Rome every so often also enlightenment philosophy and the age of reason/revolution right now reading Peter Gay’s “Weimar Culture” and E Micheal Jones’ “monsters from the ID” that is a fantastic book
@ReptilicusTV I think Rome 2 is such an under utilized game in the TH-cam community that with good edits and story telling has a lot to offer. Cheers mate
