It was 40+ years ago, i first saw Blackfoot. They opened for Foghat ! I was in my 20's and was worn out from dancing. I was privileged to see them half a dozen times over the years. ❤
@tomlogiudice3777 o mine too. And Ted Nugent and Sammy! And other old guys! In fact we're taking Mom (84) to see Tesla at the Pima County fair ! We'll rest on Friday
A great musician and singer. But lets not forget the incredible Jakson Thunderfoot Spires RIP, Greg T Walker and Charlie Hargrett who together with Rick formed one of the best Southern Rock bands that ever existed! Ever.
Rickey is an amazing musician!! Early Skynyrd drummer.. Still belting out vocal in spite of having only one lung.. May you keep rockin Mr Medlocke /Blackfoot / Skynyrd!!! Southern Rock Forever!!!
Rickey has played thousands of great solos with skynyrd and Blackfoot so he just lets the young guns take over……..BUT man when he decides to hit a solo you know he is still the bossman.
Ricky is so accomplished on many instruments. It's so cool to see him let these younger musicians jam. That young man doin solos during the song is damn good!
God bless you rickey, back in the early 70s being a poor southern kid we didnt have heroes, until LYNYRD SKYNYRD AND BLACKFOOT, and yall weren't ashamed to be southern yall were proud ,and that's never left me I'm southern and proud ,American by birth southern by the grace of God.
Man watching Rickey playing, picking the strings, melodies & arpeggios and changing chords on the neck with it looks like his eyes CLOSED. And Friggin Singing. A Master of his craft & gift. Bravo Sir 🎸🎶
I was lucky enough to see the original lineup Blackfoot way back in 1981.Ricky in his long denim coat & wide-brimmed hat and slinging the Korina Gibson Explorer. They embarrased other bands...
It was so hard to see the difference in his performance after losing a.lung. And there's early days his voice was so powerful and he could play the guitar like no other. But it's wonderful seeing him still out there after the devastating surgery. Thumbs up to the old brother! Eternal summer to you... 😊
Seen Blackfoot Winter of 1980. Amazing Southern Blues Band. They were A Hell of A Band Then with All the Original Guys. But Rick was the Main Guy. One of the Best Musicians and far underrated of All Time.
Charlie Hargrett played guitar on the album(Strikes 1979), do you remember if he was there at the time you saw them? I always wondered which guys played which solo on Highway Song. Edit: Just realized Hargrett played on all their albums. For some reason I thought he was only there for just a bit.
Love Rickey💞great voice still rocken n rollen!! Love you in Lynard Skynard too. A true Southern Rocker!!!😄😃 Greatest guitar player ever!🥰 Long live Rickey Medlocke💕Blackfoots greatest lead singer, and guitarist. 🎸 ♥
Ricky is my all time most favorite musician. I've seen him with Blackfoot 3 or 4 times and they were great every time. Never had the opportunity to see him with skyward but you can always tell his plying from anyone elses. I think he's an awesome guitar player.
The original Blackfoot, so high energy, dancing, playing with Rickey at the lead I will never forget. Rickey still has it for sure! Great job guys! Blackfoot forever! ❤❤❤
Great song Rickey thankful you for all you great music you play for us and let us see you are such a great guitar songwriting inspiration for me and myself as a songwriting guy today as for someone much younger in today's music being heard as I know you're old drummer for black foot gunner Ross r.i.p. to him who as well has been a drummer for a relatives band hunter brucks hunter is a second cousins husband of mine he rocks as well I know all of you have jammed and has met and of hung out as well is a great musician I know Kevin smith
Saw them three times in the late 70’s early 80’s always kicked Ass Especially in central Florida Lakeland Civic Center was party heaven in those days drinking smoking weed in the parking lot before the show was a tradition
Look at all those young buks up there kickin in with Rick! They all got schooled well. What a stage of talent. Those kids got to be having the time of their lives. Only original member is Rick.
@@mads-rockin-nights looks like it was a few years ago, maybe just pre pandemic??I think its the most recent vid of Rick playing live.. Thx for such a valuable recording.

This is so cool. Rickey gave the young guys the stage on the final lead.
Ricky one of the last true gifts left.
THIS, is a R&R legend! Make NO mistake about it!
In my opinion the solo in this song is in the top 3 to ever be played
A most happy day of birth to this beautiful man, which is a legend in his own time! I can't get enough of this rock and roll iron!

The band is tight - but the drummer is boring...
