Florida rock is the best! Even Jim Morrison was born in Florida. Molly Hatchet, Skynyrd, Blackfoot, The Allman Brothers, The Outlaws, Stranger Band, 38 Special, Romeo, and many more! Blackfoot is a great Florida southern American Indian country Rock band of the tallest order. Seen them play several times and always loved their killer professional top notch players. Ricky definitely does Skynyrd songs justice too! Just an incredible band and incredible guys!🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸🙏🏻🤙🏻🤘🏻

We get to hear the music, played by a great band, and Rickey owns the name and can do what he wants. If you want let the songs die because it's not the original band then don't listen, but don't complain. Being able to hear the music with Rickey Medlocke's blessing is still a great experience. Tim Rossi can play!
Yeah, they are not sounding quite as authentic or as powerful yet, but give them time - I do not get the hate - remember it took awhile for Johnny Van Zant to find the vibe with Skynerd... Blackfoot was one of the great Southern Rock bands, and if Rickey wants to keep these great songs alive and the vibe going with a younger generation, I say GOD BLESS, AND MORE POWER TO THEM!
while your statement may be true, there's a right way and a wrong way to do it, at least Ronnie Van Zant has the damn guts to get up on stage to keep it alive, what's medlocke doin? whorin out his tunes to make a buck while betraying EVERYTHING the music was about, it's a farce at best, they'll not be gettin a damn dime from me having a damn yankee fronting a southern band talkin bout bein southern when he don't know a goddamn thing about it.
Unfortunately for Rickey there’s just more money and recognition in Lynyrd Skynyrd. I wish Skynyrd would play Highway song to at least shine a spotlight on this incredible band. But maybe they can’t due to stupid lawyers. But I don’t know. Maybe they just want to keep it strictly Skynyrd. Rickey was in Skynyrd in the beginning but in between Bob Burns from the start and then after Rickey formed Blackfoot Bob came back. It’s just part of life I guess.

Damn shame Rickey tried to pawn these guys off as the new Blackfoot. Don't get me wrong, I've met all these guys and they are a hell of a group of musicians. The singer went on to help establish a group called dirty soul revival and they were also a great group. Wish Rickey could reconcil with Charlie and Greg b4 another one passes on.

That don't even cut it, if you want to play a blackfoot song then play one but dont call yourself blackfoot. It's better to leave things the way thay are it's better to remember them as one of the great southern rock bands. And most importantly if your going to play a blackfoot song then copy it to a T cause that's what I remember and that's what the fans remember why would you want to destroy a masterpiece.

Here's my primary beef with the project. Prior to Jakson's passing there was a call from the Blackfoot fanbase wanting for the band to reunite for a limited number of shows. Since Rickey had joined Skynyrd they obviously couldn't reunite on a permanent basis but there were many who wanted to see them get back together for a limited reunion. Obviously Charlie, Jakson and Greg were on board with the idea due to appearances they made and songs they played during that time period. But Rickey would not agree to any type of reunion. And here's where the rub is. Rickey stated that his reason for not wanting to do any type of reunion was due to the fact that Blackfoot was in the past and created some great music and some great times for the fans. And that legacy should be honored and enjoyed and everyone should just remember those good times and hold on to them for what they were and basically it was time to move on. But then he turns right around, jerks the use of the Blackfoot name from out from under Charlie and Greg who were "renting" it at the time and then turns around and says "I'm going to create a new Blackfoot band with guys who have NO connection to the original group. Gee, so much for letting alone the legacy and good times and good memories of the "old band". If you don't want to touch the old band using the original members then how in the world do you justify using a totally brand new bunch of musicians and putting them our there as "Blackfoot". I always thought Bobby Ingram's "Molly Hatchet" was a stretch but this tops it I think.
