I met Ricky back in 2001 at a Skynyrd show in Maine. My wife won backstage tickets on a radio station, and I am a huge Gary Rossington fan, so I was excited. We had diner and Ricky was the only one from the band to sit with us. He was polite and told me stories about when he played with Blackfoot back in the day. Cool story . Hello from Jacksonville, Florida . Home of Southern Rock . I was born and raised in Jacksonville. Nothing was cooler than going to local bars and seeing these guys just jam . LYNYRD SKYNRD, MOLLY HATCHETT, BLACKFOOT. ALLMAN BROTHERS. So there's a book for you to check out. It's called jacksonville roots of southern rock awesome book man. If you dig Southern Rock

Love Rickey Metlocke! His talent is amazing. I watch him with Skynyrd mainly because that is my favorite of all bands, but have seen Blackfoot a couple of times too.
My band open up for this version of Blackfoot a couple of years ago and these guys are freaking cool and genuinely very nice guys that were hand picked by Ricky himself to continue and carry on the Blackfoot name. Ricky himself I believe either writes the new music and these guys perform it or has a hand in writing the new music for Blackfoot either way Ricky himself fully endorses this newer version so if its good enough for Ricky then ...
I was lucky enough to see Rickey Medlock and blackfoot in their prime back in 1980. One of the best concerts i,ve ever seen. The music was loud and rockin' with the strong smell of weed in the air.Sexy women dancing to his music. What more could a kid of 15 years old ask for.

I saw the original Skynyrd at an outdoor festival at Nashville Speedway in 1976. It doesnt seem like a Blackfoot song to me, but Ive seen them perform the BF hits and they did them real justice in fairness. As long as the tunes are played properly then Im happy to see the band keep going. In the face of the kind of music is out there today, Id say its essential to keep this music alive.
alot of haters here ..i know how you feel ..this us light years away from tomcatin , theres no explorer guitars or marshall amps , its not even a shadow of songs such as fox chase or spendin cabbage but in the end they are sounding southern and they are attempting to help a new generation to appreciate and discover the old blackfoot ..its not a bad song , its got feel , its alot better than the shit coming out today ? the guutar work is good and its got a southern drive to it , its tight and its a hommage to medlock ....they will help people to discover the legendary blackfoot .whats wrong with that ..they shoukdve called themselves Blackfoot mk11 or maraurder .
This is the new blackfoot band . With new musicians and Rickey Medlocke joins the band onstage for certain concerts. I understand you can be upset , but it is a fact . :)
passing the torch. I have to admit it's really clever, but alot of people may be upset by the fact it's more of a Blackfoot only by name and not with any members the band is known for. especially it's founder, singer, guitarist, Rickey Medlocke.
Just bought this album digitally because I couldn't find a hard copy at the store, which makes sense because this album came out two months ago and hard copies of albums by obscure, fringy bands such as Blackfoot don't stay long on the shelves if at all. The album sounds like a couple of modern day rock bands. Blackfoot first moved away from their traditional sound to my knowledge with some albums during the 1980s so it's obvious that they follow whatever music craze is currently going on. The first half of this album sounds like Saliva, particularly Southern Native, while the second half of this album sounds like Slash's solo career.
Where can I find some more of this new Blackfoot, always loved the band Blackfoot, but this new song is tremendous. My hat's off to not only the band but the Seminole Indian tribe.

Leave alone our sacred land
And laid back living and rainy nights
My sweet street justice shining on my life

Actually, great comment, insight and prospective. Thank you!
Saw Blackfoot on the tomcattin tour. Awesome.
Great band great songs im 55 play drums this just like the old Blackfoot but modern sound
Great song in the tradition of this band!
This has ALWAYS been one of my favorite bands
This is the new blackfoot band . With new musicians and Rickey Medlocke joins the band onstage for certain concerts. I understand you can be upset , but it is a fact . :)
Glad to hear that Rickey is getting the band together and touring when not with LS
I'm thinking of going on tour as the Beatles, hopefully you all will come to the show
Even less people would care.
Sounds good! 😊
Glad to see you back. NICE!
passing the torch. I have to admit it's really clever, but alot of people may be upset by the fact it's more of a Blackfoot only by name and not with any members the band is known for. especially it's founder, singer, guitarist, Rickey Medlocke.
But he should have called them something different. Nothing at all true to the Blackfoot name. Decent band in their own right.
If theyre good enough for Rickey Medlocke, they're good enough for me 👍👍👍
Loved when Rick came in!
Do you know this song gets more Authentic and Original half ways through 🥃
