I remember me and a friend heading to the smokies, pulled into a truck stop and bought an 8 track called Blackfoot Strikes, it blew our mind 1979 We would see them played that fall in Nashville, TN. We when on to become friends with Rickey in 1995 going out to eat, i remember he drove off in a van with a U haul, next year joining Lynyrd Skynyrd.
First time I saw Blackfoot, around 1978 or ‘79, they were opening for AC/DC… when I saw them again a year later, Rick Medlocke announced to the crowd that he’d just been informed that Bon Scott had passed away
Saw the Siogo tour in a small club in Harrisburg pa. Stood right in front of Ricky and watched him preform....what an incredible honor to watch a legend bring the house to its knees,I'll never forget it as long as I live.....I think Siogo was their finest album by far....
This band was dope .I saw them in 1981,and they opened for Foghat in Yakima ,WA. What an amazing concert.Beer, women, rock n roll, and the strong scent of weed in the air.Doesn,t get any better than that.I was 16 years old.

I saw Rick play with the late great Hughie Thomasson as part of Skynyrds line up in the 90's .... members Outlaws/Blackfoot together.....what a show!!! RIP Hughie😢😢😢
@@spuds6423 I know, I was so sad when I found out hughie had passed away, I couldn’t believe it. Seemed like it happened so suddenly. Crushing news. I really liked hughie, he wasna amazing musician/ singer/songwriter. I love 💕 green grass and high tides. So awesome.🤟. I was lucky enough to get to see them at Rupp Arena in Lexington. It was so awesome. That’s been early 2000’s to mid. Rickey sure is a beast on that guitar 🎸. Love em. Oh yeah, have you heard anything about Rickey having a new band ? I think I heard it was called “ The Rickey Medlock Band”. Not for sure on that but I see hear he had a band and they were gonna be touring. I hope so. Would love to go, be awesome 💚🦋
@@Shan-5544 I haven't heard anything about a new band per se...the last time I heard anything from him was on Eddie Trunk's show with Johnny Van Zant talking about the tour with ZZ Top... I got to see Hughie at the New York State Fair only a few weeks before he passed. I was crushed because the Outlaws were my favorite band. I am so glad I got the Alien Outlaws tour shirt. At the Skynyrd show with Hughie and Rickey I was lucky to catch one of Gary Rossington's picks so that is definitely a prized possession. RIP Gary 😞😞😞
I saw that tour, Boston October 1981. I was a huge Def Leppard fan so we mainly went to see them, but I was also a moderate Blackfoot fan. Both bands tore the place up. Excellent show.
They were supporting act of the headliner Swiss Band "Krokus" and I was there and still one of the best performances of a band, I've ever witness in my entire life ❤❤❤ Good memories in heart. Mind and soul keeps things alive and sky rocking
I saw these guys in Flint Michigan at a little league baseball park with Deep purple. What a cherished moment from my childhood. It turned that whole area in Flint into utter chaos! Thank you for this memory!
I have loved Rickey Medlocke for many many years!!!! I just can't get enough of him!!! He is sooooooo handsome and sweet!!!! And cool would say he's cool!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
If Blackfoot existed today, they would be comparable to what a Van Halen/Pantera love child would have produced. Maximum volume, balls OUT in your FACE rock & roll at FULL throttle until the fuel is GONE...
Showed up late to the start of a Blackfoot gig in Marietta, GA in around 1984. We could hear them all of the way down the street when pulling up. Talk about load
I love this. I saw them when they played in the SFX Hall in Dublin on that tour. They were amazing. One of the best gigs I was ever at. Samson were the support band.
The guys had several great songs and great albums. But in concert is where Ricky shines. Saw them in '76 at the Shrine Mosque in Springfield, Mo. Still have vivid memories of them but don't recall the Headliner. Black Oak Arkansas?
Just heard Rickey has a new band. Rickey Medlocke Band!!! When he's not touring with LS he will be out front with his new band!!!!! And I love it!!!!!!!
I remember seeing them at Hammersmith odeon London around 81 or 82? They were backing the Scorpions and for me were better...scorpions were great as well tho
mince je voulais metre ce comentaire sur la chanson d'avant , bizarre celle la me parait avoir un meilleur son alors que ça a l'air d'etre tiré du meme concert !!!!?????!!!!!!!!!??????
One of the most underrated rock bands of all time
Ricky is one of the most under-rated front men in rock. I have always loved his voice and his gun slinger guitar playing.
I totally agree!!!!
I couldn’t agree more!!!
Their "Indian pride" stance might not have helped…
Not underrated by me. I was lucky to but the very early. Pre Atco albums on vinyl. One day i will transfer them to CD.
Absolutely underrated here in America!
One of the best downright serious rock bands of our time.

I love Blackfoot. I'd be the first in line if they had a reunion tour.👍
I’d be second then!

Highway Song is one of the best rock songs ever written. Reminds me of my High School days in the early 80s. Incredible times.

Saw them a few times in the UK including this tour
and to this day they are still one of the best live bands I’ve had the pleasure to watch.
Fantastic! They deserved far more success than they got.
Blackfoot fer the R&R hall of fame.
Rickey kept Freebird in his heart and made Highway Song ending almost the same. Perfect
Ricky Medlocke was born to be a rockstar

I'll always love Blackfoot. I saw them a couple times, opening for Foghat, then again with Def Leppard opening for them!

M. Medlocke is amongst the ones who taught me how to sing…
they were awesome , great band
Knebworth,UK 1985 say no more except they blew every band including Deep Purple off stage.
Saw them at the Palladium in NyC backed up by Def Leopard in 81. Awesome concert. Unforgettable!!!

NO SHIT ROCK N ROLL . GREAT STUFF 👍👍🎸🎸👍
Saw them several times in the late 70's. One was a triple bill with a very young Def Lepard opening for Humble Pie and Blackfoot. Good show.
I bet Motorhead would have partied with them!
