    Mr. Candy was a real treasure. I to this day remember where I was, and what I was doing when I heard that he had died. Although I didn't know Mr. Candy, his passing was a true loss to all of us. What a beautiful man.

    Very few celebrity deaths have stuck with me, but for some reason, I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing. I was with my mom in the living room, and she had the radio on. The announcer or radio host delivered the news, and my mom freaked out. I can still hear her *gasp* and repeating the words, "John Candy died?!?!." I was only 11, but I'll never forget her expression. So weird how things like this stick with you.

    John was super young when he did I think he was only 43. That's insane how sad he was so funny and real. I feel bad that he never felt good about himself and felt way stupid like just Chris Farley for being made fun of for being so fat.... I think if they had lived they both would've lost a bunch of weight would be just as funny they were just funny for being fat but they couldn't see that or the fact everyone loved them cuz they were legit good people and helped folks all the time without drawing attention to their deeds... good dudes who are missed but live on throught their awesome works.... RIP farley and Candy ✊️✊️✊️

  • @searinggaspainland
    @searinggaspainland 13 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Thanks a ton. That clip of Paul eating cereal was one of my very favorite clips from the Late Night years, and I hadn't seen it since when it aired. Seeing him alternately bored and satisfied with his corn flakes cracked me up and left a mark in my memory for whatever reason (probably the randomness of it all). Do you have the rest of this show on your hard drive?
    I think John and Eugene were in on it, by the way.

    Does anyone know the movie John Candy and Eugene Levy were in together Called "Bananas". I cannot seem to find it anywhere. Eugene played a B-Grade film producer and John Candy was one of his actors. I googled the title but couldn't find info and it's not listed on Eugene's or John IMDB. Maybe it was titled something us and listed as that.

    Levy (if that's his real name)...couldn't get more Turkish-mongolian than that...oh, perhaps Chaim Witz a.k.a Gene Simmons. Not only do they adapt new names but also ethnic groups as well e.g. orthodox Jews (whatever a jew is)

  • @vajrasiddhi

    Eugene Levy can’t shut up and kind of takes over the show, but John Candy was always funnier than Levy’s what-eyebrows?
    I mean, I know they worked a lot together, mainly in the small sphere of Canadian comedy that revolved around SCTV, and they probably planned their contributions in this appearance, but maybe they didn’t and Levy was being a bit of a hog here during his infrequent moment on American late night tv.
