Such a good point, I think you're right about that.
He was so outgoing, lovable and being in Hollywood, naturally he put Canada on the map as the country with "nice people".
Amazing person... I wish I met him.

I met John Candy at a meet and greet when i was a kid. He asked me what i liked in school and about my interests. he seemed genuinely interested and was very kind. and god, so funny. even to a kid.
Uncle Buck is one of the funniest movies of the 80's. His own take on Orson Wells during a few skits on SCTV was absolutely amazing and so damn funny. what a legend.

As a kid watching Uncle Buck, I can remember thinking I wish I had a big badass crazy uncle like that. And you just knew John Candy was probably a lot like that in real life. I big guy with an even bigger heart. God Bless you "Uncle John". You are soooo missed.

I saw a documentary the other day about him and was so impressed on what a good man he was. Apparently, he had time for everybody, cared about other people and their problems and would try to help out. He would have been missed even if he had never made a single movie.

I saw the game with the Blues Brothers show and a few others that year. But everytime I go to the Dome, especially for a football game, I close my eyes and I can remember back, like it was yesterday, where I saw John walking on the sidelines, just a shout away. Wish he was here for the 100th Cup, because it was dedicated to men like him who made this league great. RIP

Time cannot tarnish the gifts he gave of himself simply to help others.

They should have played a game or two in the US during the regular season like the NFL does in Europe. Do that for a few years and then look at expanding there. In reality it should stay up north, its not meant to be an alternative league to the NFL, like the USFL was.
