No, I mostly try to ignore the sequels altogether, but Legends is as equally absurd & stupid. Boba at best should be capable of harassing Vader for a minute or two before getting away, by playing to his strengths. NOT by picking up a lightsaber & legitimately holding his own against Darth fucking Vader.
Cad Bane, who's proven to be a lot more competent than Boba has ever been on-screen, lasted a single second against Obi-Wan when he tried his hand at lightsaber combat. That is how things should be.

I guess Lucas didn't realize how great a fan favorite character he would become. He probably thought Jar Jar was the one everyone would gravitate towards. I would say Ray Park's portrayal and talent is what elevated Maul to be such a memorable character.

@@KatrinEgilsdottirthe difference being, Maul became one of the most well written characters in Star Wars, it was plausible since we simply just watch him fall (unlike with Palpatine where we watch him get disintegrated), and him being brought back actually adds to the story whereas Palpatine being brought back undermines the sacrifice Anakin made and virtually undos about 40 years worth of story telling.
Fucking sucks they only had this guy in for one movie.

Darth Maul has been my favorite character every since I was a kid. Criminally underused in the movies. A friend of mine lived on the same street as Ray Park. He said he would see him exercise and train. He’d drive by and Ray would be doing backflips and shit on his front lawn. Fucking badass
Fun fact: it wasn’t just his hatered for obi wan and his guilt that made him go insane, what played a huge role in his descent into insanity was the fact he couldn’t sleep, not because he had nightmares or anything, but because he was constantly using the force to keep his body together, keeping him alive, if he ever fell asleep his makeshift body would fall apart and he would die, this is shown when the night sister forces him into a deep sleep and his entire lower half disassembles, this man stayed awake for years and years doing nothing but killing creatures and forgetting everything and everyone except obi-wan

My favorite star wars character. The lightsaber cut through his torso, cauterizing and preventing bleed out. I believe no major organs were damaged. I met him at Tampa convention center, actually nice guy. 👍

He wasn’t enraged I don’t think. Maybe self hatred for building the machine that killed his son. But I think he mostly just lost his mind and refused to accept that he couldn’t bring his son back. He stayed alive because of the same process that reanimated the children that he stuffed into the suits, a process which I think would be fueled by grief and sadness and maybe fear more than rage.
The answer is “the writers needed a fresh idea but didn’t want to create something new.”
Why create something new when you had this cool character with a few minutes on screen that a lot of people were fond of?

Doesn't explain how he suddenly became a robotics genius, or how his digestive system works, or even the massive loss of blood.
The wound would have cauterized instantly to account for blood loss. But the scrapyard prosthetic? Yeah I… have no idea unless he used the force to move it until a proper doctor could build him something. Digestive modifications could be done similar to robocop, where he intakes a modified substance for nutrients that result in very little waste, along with what I have to assume would be ports to allow for the waste to come out. Assuming the kidneys are unharmed, a bladder could be fashioned with an artificial lines running from the kidneys to it.
This is all assuming he could survive long enough to make it to a doctor lol. Lots of assumptions, 0 evidence to go by, so it’s just my theory… cheers!
@victisomega4248 blood loss in the form of half of his blood being in his lower half is what I'm talking about. And yeah, it'd take time to create such a system, and he wouldn't have much time. They never specified what that hole was for, but it doesn't seem to make sense to have a shielded garbage shoot.
Basically, they killed him, and then retconned his death because fans liked him.
@@99zxk I’d agree up to the blood loss bit you’re stuck on, the body is pressurized to a degree and would self regulate fairly quickly. It’s not really realistic to think the person would die from lack of blood due to that much of an amputation, we do self regulate, though he may have been hypertensive even post fight as the body would slowly try to regulate blood content and flow to adapt to the new normal. I don’t foresee it being the end of him, nor nearly to the extent that excrement would have.

If Vader was at his full potential he would easily overthrow Sidious and take over the galaxy by himself
If he would train vader to his full potential, vader could've easely killed him, which he knew. Anakin/vader was the chosen one, which meant he had waaay more power than sedius, he could've killed him just by snapping his fingers. This is the reason we need a sw what if show, it would be so cool to see alternative universes in which vader would become the strongest beeing in the universe and become immortal and all that stuff from the comics.
Plus another factor is that vader was already a fully trained jedi Knight and a well respected sith lord by the time he became palpatines apprentice, yet palpatine kidnapped maul when maul was a child, thus making him actually need training, whereas vader was already good enough (plus palps didn't want vader overthrowing him)
Simply bc sidious knew how strong anakin was. He is evil but certainly not stupid, if he made him too strong he will uprise one day.

Yeah, General. He actually came back in The Clone Wars. Lucas's decision. And his idea for a sequel trilogy was that Maul would be the main villain. But he sold it to Disney and Disney said "Nah, we'll just kill him off in Rebels".

Let’s be real…. Maul survived because Filoni realized how beloved the character was by the fan base and wanted to think of some way to bring him back
And it was the coldest but most bad ass way to bring him back.
Not to mention he quite literally held himself together for 12 years straight witht the force.

"How did Maul survive?" Money and fan service lol they saw he was a very popular character so crafted a narrative to make him survive. Simple as that. He wasn't supposed to be this in depth character but you do what you do for popular characters to keep people interested.

I came across a person with no lower body, their abomen was clearly cauterized and Maul's was too by the heat of the saber, plus he isnt human and I'm guessing his biology is tougher & more resilient on its own.
He stayed alive because the writers felt like it. How they do it is just necessity.

@@Leondrius This. He looked cool but he mostly did just that...stood around and looked cool in the OT and in the PT he was just a kid so didn't do that much really. Boba and Jango are overrated imo lol. Least in the Old Republic games we get to see some actual badass Mandalorians.

@@Redshirtgaming96 Jango actually did shit in the original saga. Unlike Boba. Gave Kenobi a good fight in AotC, AND killed a Jedi master on Geonosis. So yeah, I prefer Jango too. Boba was basically Captain Phasma. Stood around and looked cool/intimidating, but ultimately did not do a whole lot of anything. And sadly, the EU made him amazing later on, but that is no longer canon.
