Can you make a video installing "Dual Exhaust Rear Bumper", and replacing the single left exhaust! I have the same vehicle as yours... It will look a lot better!
I’m way late on this like 5 years late and Kies is huge and advanced now lol but I noticed the problem on this video was he cut the sunroof out first and that’s what made it hard to get all the bubbles out when laying it down and pulling it.
Great job, I did my BMW 530i in blue carbon, it was OK, but moulded up and since removed it. My roof is in sad shape and I was gonna paint it the original color but I really like the carbon fiber. Thanks for your video.
a good technique start from the front and lay the vinyl to the back, i think if you work more on the glass technique the process will be done lots faster, since this is a one man job.
I know this is an old video but in the future and you get bubbles that won't go away, use a needle and poke a very small hole in the middle and that will release the air so you can flatten it out.
i don't know about your background and i've subscribed and have watched many of your videos. you seem to know your way around pulling things apart. i'm always afraid to touch mine in the event i brake something...... like those plastic rivets/nail plugs
soapy water in a spray bottle would have made life alot easier so creases and bubbles wouldn't be an issue either. Good job non the less! Im thinking of doing the same to my f30.
1. Where did you get your plastic tools? 2. I live in Toronto, Canada - what temperatures is this wrap good for? 3. How easy is the wrap to remove, and if it takes a little scratch or nick, how easy is it to repair? Thank you in advance.
Hey Brian, have you done a carbon fiber wrap on a bmw? ( whole car not just the roof ex: M3 has already carbon fiber roof) just curios or have you heard any that done this! Thanks
Hi, thanks. Are you talking about the full retrofit? I considered it, but it's about $3,000 all said and done. If I do it, I don't think I'll ever get the money back out of the car when I go to sell it, so I won't be doing it unless a company sponsors the retrofit. I was going to do it for a customer, but he actually started looking into trading in his car for one that had it.
When you wrapped the roof rails, did you wrap the vinyl around the rubber seal or did you cut it so the rubber seal is exposed (in another words, the wrap isn't wrapped all the way around the sides and tucked underneath with the clips.) It looks awesome! Thanks for the tutorial!
Bryan, I am about to wrap the roof of my f10. You didn't say anything about the removal and replacement of the weather stripping around the sunroof. I would really appreciate any info on that process.
I thought that may be the case but I opened my sunroof to check it out last night and even when open there is a rubber stripping that goes around the largest opening and onto the roof of the car. I am driving a 2014 f10 550I. Am I missing something here??
He is actually wrong, it is recommended to hand wash because depending on the automatic car wash it can tear through the wrap and just basically pull it off
As a wrapper, this video is hard to watch. Tips: 1. Lay the vinyl BEFORE you cut out the sunroof. 2. Glass the whole roof BEFORE you squeegee. 3. Start to squeegee in the middle going front to back, then work your way towards the sides. 4. Apply some heat to all the edges BEFORE you trim off the excess, to make sure it doesnt pull back and leave paint showing. 5. Post heat all edges BEFORE attaching your plastic trim back on. Best tip of all : Use good material like 3M.
@@Flombus The people who complain about 3M are the ones who cant install it properly. Here in England it is fine, the complaints about 3M always seem to come from the US.
Damn, a lot of mistakes in this video. Elbows on the roof cause little dents, never cut out the sunroof first, and he never glassed the vinyl. Still got it done though. Shows how resillient vinyl is, good job.
No, I want to say it's 3d? I think the 4d looks like it has more texture, but I honestly don't remember. I think I posted a link to it, so that may more help. I really like the look. It's flat in color, but looks sweet!
so this wrap was done last year? how is the wrap holding up in the sun so far? any fading?? I am debating between vvivid vinyl and 3M. Any recommendations for cf wrap?
Kies Motorsports thanks for the response! Any particular reason why 3M over vvivid? I've been looking at the vvivid black gloss cf because I like the gloss look of it. But I've read some mixed reviews about it as well (application being difficult, material not as good). The glossy look is something I want from the cf, but longevity and quality is more important to me. I'm sure 3M material is probably better. Any insight and thoughts on this would really help.
the reason you struggled is because 1. you didn't use quality vinyl. avery,3m 2. you should have cut the sunroof in the end no the first time. ps also you should do wrapping at the right temperature.
Yea, I agree. The vinyl wasn't as user friendly as the avery that I used on the back, but in the end, it looks fantastic. One of the problems that I noticed with this vinyl is that when you get an air bubble, it's much harder to get it out. I feel like the Avery had much better air release. I agree with the other comments you had too.. I think I mentioned those in the video. The last thing, is that it's also tough to do by yourself... Thanks for your message
U did a fabulous job for doing this for the first time. I have the same wrap gonna do my F30 roof soon. Thanks for the video and tips 👍🏾.

Was going to pay $250 to wrap my roof, but I think I'm going to do it myself after this video!!
Right. Sooo cheap when DIY. At first I was scared of it but learning you can install it dry no need for water I looked it up and it's pretty easy.
Wow amazing it look easy to do it. But i think. Ipay better do do it do any. Body know. Were they. Do it.

Awesome video as always! Now I have a new challenge for my F30, hope I have patience enough to do it..

This looks amazing. But my BM is all black already. So thinking a colour to go with it and wouldn't looks too weird or over the top is difficult
Keep loving the mods you do to your car man 💯
Thanks! More to come..

good job brian ,you’ve come a long way
I love the work you do on the bmw shame your not in the UK
yeah, doing the two side mouldings will make the look flow better, in line with the front and back windshields
Yea, I ended up doing them when I did the roof. It looked weird without them
Hey, nice video!
Could you please make a video about installation of lowering springs?
Regards
Hi, we have one up that we posted a few months ago
you did A very good job...… and by yourself...… ……………….. I will do it on my prius……… :)
any plans on doing a video on how to change the stock halogen headlights on F30? appreciate all your videos
Hi, yea we did one a few weeks ago
what size you used to wrap the whole roof?
"Wrap Your Roof !" lol ))
Awesome Vids man !! Subed
Thanks!

Yes this is what I've been looking for 👌🏼

Nice job. Contrast looks great.
Thanks! Other wrap videos coming soon..
what are the dimensions of the roof?
soapy water in a spray bottle would have made life alot easier so creases and bubbles wouldn't be an issue either. Good job non the less! Im thinking of doing the same to my f30.
You never apply wrap vinyl with water. I has air channels in it to expel bubbles, this guy just layed it down wrong
No water under vinyl EVER!!! Vinyl is applied dry, PPF is applied wet.
1. Where did you get your plastic tools? 2. I live in Toronto, Canada - what temperatures is this wrap good for? 3. How easy is the wrap to remove, and if it takes a little scratch or nick, how easy is it to repair? Thank you in advance.
1.amazon 2. all temperatures, hot and cold 3. very easy, but you have to heat up the wrap before pulling
Hey Brian, have you done a carbon fiber wrap on a bmw? ( whole car not just the roof ex: M3 has already carbon fiber roof) just curios or have you heard any that done this! Thanks
Looks good Bryan. I know they are not cheap, but are you going to do a Xenon headlight switchover? I just can't picture a BMW with Halogen Headlights.

Thank you very much for this easy to understand tutorial. Looks great! Good job man!
Also how has it held up in the direct sunlight?
Thanks! It's held up awesome!

Thanks! Yea, I went slightly over the rubber, but I stayed clear of the clips and it worked out great!
What size vinyl did you buy?
What vinyl brand would you suggest as easiest and best looking? Im thinking of going with Avery.
What if I instead rub my throat down with alcohol before installing?
El Monni You probs wont do a straight cut
Why not use 5 D carbon it’s shiny
Nearly two years later, how did it hold up? Any updates?
should the car's roof be wet when placing the carbon fiber vinyl? I did not see it clearly if you let it wet or let it dried??
Hi, it was a dry application
Kies Motorsports thank you brother
Muhamet Ademi NEVER apply vinyl wet, always dry
How does this hold up against moisture seepage after repeated washes and rains etc?
How much to get the best carbon fiber wrap for my 440I M Sport. What should I pay
How long did this hold up?
Bryan, I am about to wrap the roof of my f10. You didn't say anything about the removal and replacement of the weather stripping around the sunroof. I would really appreciate any info on that process.
Hi Christopher, I didn't touch it.. when you open your sunroof, it drops down
I thought that may be the case but I opened my sunroof to check it out last night and even when open there is a rubber stripping that goes around the largest opening and onto the roof of the car. I am driving a 2014 f10 550I. Am I missing something here??
Hmm, I'd have to see it. My weather stripping sticks on the glass
Great video man. Thank you
Thanks!
great video...question for you...can you go through automatic car wash with this wrap or do you have to handwash?
Sure, it should be good. This vinyl is very durable
He is actually wrong, it is recommended to hand wash because depending on the automatic car wash it can tear through the wrap and just basically pull it off
Where did you get that yellow glide tool? And where to buy it
As a wrapper, this video is hard to watch.
Tips:

D-NO 3M has been shit in their quality. Vvivid and Avery before 3M 🤷🏿♂️
@@MessiahKnight as another wrapper, yes this was hard to watch but seeing a recommendation for 3M hurt just as much lol
As a non professional wrapper(some diy) i was cringing lol, only watching to see how he did the sunroof to see if it was any different
@@Flombus The people who complain about 3M are the ones who cant install it properly. Here in England it is fine, the complaints about 3M always seem to come from the US.
What are dimensions of bmw f30 roof?
Nice work ! It looks awesome !
Thanks!
Hey man awesome video. How big a piece would you say I should order to cover the roof?
Hi, I think 5'x5' will do the trick, but I bought a 10'x5', so I could do my interior too
How did you take off the fin??
Pretty sure you have to remove the carpeting on the ceiling of the car towards the back and remove a bolt holding the fin down.
@@roughryder5 No it's just held on with really good sealant you need to cut through it.
It’s double sided tape, remove with wiring or heat gun to loosen

How did you take off the antenna fin?

Sure thing! 3M just seems a lot higher quality. I also think the air release is much better on the 3M after using both of them
Kies Motorsports thanks a lot for the response. I may just go with the 3M.
Sure thing! I did an interior wrap on an F30 the other day with 3M 1080 and it went awesome!
Thanks soooo much for this video!!!!!
what about the antenna is it gonna be a separate video?
Yep! Coming soon..
how do i remove the shark spin???
What did you use to glue or stick the shark fin back on?
+Giovanni Meza Hi, I used Gorilla sealant. There should be a link to it in the description
Use 3m double sided tape because it is thin and easy to install
How long is the wrap
hey bryan, did u get a postcard from BMW about discontinuing of bmw assist? if so, did you op for the retrofit?
Hi Will, I didn't get it, but I think I'm eligible. I'll call them tomorrow. Maybe they will let me film it!
Looks sick
Thanks!
why not lube the roof like when they do tint?
Alex Doty it's a dry application
If you wet it will ruin the material
What if the car does not have roof trims?
You could still do it
how did you guys remove the antenna
