    He has the best videos--they're to-the-point, great instructions, and NOT chaotic. I don't need videos with a ton of extra BS, I need videos where the pro just walks you through it. Christian makes it look so easy.

      Sponsored and vendor produced videos commonly stage/fake things to make it look easier than reality, to encourage people to buy their products. If they showed how difficult their vinyl is in reality to install they would have a lot less sales.

    • @apolloplanb5209
      @apolloplanb5209 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As in most jobs like this, prep is essential. The cleaner the surface the better the results. I highly recommend detailing the surfaces with a claybar while also using distilled water. Use as many fresh blades and microfiber towels as possible, again the smoother the better. FYI, continuously checking the surface with the back of your fingers, you dont want to leave behind any oil from from your pores. Best of luck!!!!

    You sir are clearly skilled at what you do. And you make it loook so easy. I have some vvivid chameleon carbon a tint tool kit and the same heat gun as you (just got it for 29.99 cad! Huge deal).
    I did my taillights (in smoke black) on my 328i and it looks fine, there is 2 small folds and 1 edge looks a bit iffy, but it was my first time on a curvey surface and the tint was 12.99 nbd.
    Now im gonna do my hood! Wish me luck!! 😅 Edit: well it's been 45 mins and I'm pretty upset, the installation of the vinyl is not to bad but pulling it back up peeled my clearcoat and now the vinyl won't stick.

    Just a helpful hint: Your shirt and arms have dust and lint, so working from the inside to the outside prevents dust. Also, outside to inside, you're pushing dirt towards the center and not away. The same with top and bottom...you want to work on the top first and work your way to the bottom.

    This can’t be vivid I spent 5 hours really taking my time and I’m finally ripped it off and went online and found it is the absolute hardest to deal with from almost every person. At 7:40 it shows him squeeging the buckles. On my Vivid the would instantly create hard lines if you breathed on them. Up came the film and on goes the heat gun, only to find it’s discolored now from 3 secs of heat and a little tension. Ordered Avery because the consensus is it’s the easiest to lay. I’ve also used 3m and it is a dream in comparison to vivid

Do the cars you work on not have windshield washer nozzles on the hood? Mine is a '02 Lexus RX300 and the two wiper /washer nozzles are directly on the hood.
    Also, on my vehicle the rear spoiler is visible on all sides. I have yet to find a video of anyone wrapping a spoiler that needs to be wrapped in its entirety. I'm having a very very difficult time with all the corners and basically having the wrap go all the way around and connect.

      Mine doesn’t either. I think he is leaving a step out. I’ve tried twice and takes all of my strength to reposition the film. I’m going to wipe a thin layer of dawn detergent on and let it dry to reduce the tack.

      Same with me I used all my strength and it still wouldn’t come up to lift wrinkles I’ll never buy that brand again

      @@marblesrichard I did a couple of wet install before and had good results. Last one I did few days was my first time doing it dry. I'd say it's easier to squeeze out water than air. Water also makes it easier to lift up and adjust. However more difficult to apply heat with a heat gun. Dry install is quicker and less messy. I did it under the sun and helps material get soften. I once did it in winter on a sub-zero cold day my carbon fiber textured vinyl went so brittle and ripped the first time trying to lift.

      Vvivid in my experience I have tried and Experiment with a number of Colours even the Gloss Piano Black it is pretty when it first goes down but scratches up in no time I found Avery does not scratch up near as bad ,, the fact that Vvivid is Calendared Film and I would suggest getting Cast ,, many pretty Colours in Calandered Film but the Life is only a Couple years

    my first mistake was even considering Vinyl at all after watching this video 2-3 times and others and applying two large sheets of vinyl and both failed entirely that i ripped them off and took paint off with it lmao .. the vinyl wouldn't settle into the grooves of the hood and wrinkled way too much every time i tried too smooth it and be patient it would damage the vinyl .. i even tried peeling it up slowly and the vinyl teared .. FF00ck Vinyl , its a useless product and way too finicky too work with and damages easily .. just get your car or body panels PAINTED and be done with it !!!
