Another great video. It was missing the one step that I was hoping to see though, which how you reattached the shark fin. That would have been extremely helpful to include as well.
Heat > Pre-stretch > Allow film to cool > Wrap most difficult part first / as much of remainder as possible without heat > Heat (as minimally as possible) and allow film to shrink back into shape from pre-stretch around fin. If you heat it and stretch it around the fin simultaneously it will cause stress around the edges and contours leading to fingers and lifting! I'm no professional but this I do know :)
Great vid! Are you familiar with the pre-stretch technique? I'm sure you've heard of it, but for those who haven't, we find that the best way is to pre-stretch the vinyl over that window, let it cool, and then place the shark fin around it. Apply the heat gun and the vinyl will shrink and wrap around the hard-angled areas. Works wonderful with the side mirrors as well, also helps avoid the vinyl from pulling 😊 excellent videos by the way first guy i've seen go through all the steps of vinyl roof wraps
+Patrick Malana Thanks! Yes, I have heard of it and I tried it, but couldn't get it to go around that point. You're tight though, I've seen it work great on mirrors!
Kies Motorsports Did it just screw back on the roof? I'm worried if I unscrew the fin, a nut, or something, will fall down and I'll have to rip the interior apart to fix it. I'd love to see a reinstall vid! Thanks!
Correct me if I am wrong, but the fin is just glued down. The 3 posts are to line up the fin, rather than screw points. There is a screw on the actual antenna structure (I believe he said T25), that screw is completely on the exterior. While technically it is possible for the screw to fall in, it seems hugely improbable.
Hello. When you rental tour star fin did you use M3 tape? I wrap my roof but when I install back the shark fin I found that the M3 tape had some gapes in some areas of the shark fin. could I have any water leak If I don't seal that properly? or the antenna itself have a seal to protect from water leak. thanks
Logan Garcia Really??? Dude. Stay in school. The Heat from the Sun will keep it from getting any creases in it. That Vinyl will be on there for years. It isn’t going anywhere and if it does. Wrap it again !!!!
You can buy a shark fin that has a the antenna and is also painted in carbon fiber or wrap. For under 10 dollars. While wrapping your own can cause you more if you mess up the only left over pieces you had. And if you want to buy carbon fiber wrap you'll spend more money

for a guy not doing this on a professional basis, u did awesome. thumbs up
Thanks!
Kies Motorsports yeah man props.

Absolutely man, thanks for the videos :) Will be removing the fin as you suggested.

you should make video how did you remove the shark
If you showed be a pic of this guy and ask what kind of car he drives, i would have guessed BMW.
How do you retach the fin. Im getting water leaks
Awesome video as always Bryan! You create awesome videos and hope you will continue to upload for a long time!
Thanks, Patrick! Much appreciated
What'd you use to secure the fin back? 3m double sided?
I think I used the gorilla version of it and gorilla sealant. I posted some links :)
Nice one, that took some bottle :)
I want to buy a carbon fin for my Camry any recommendations. Is it to install do I drill holes?
Hello Bryan, what length of wrap would you recommend buying
The thermal phone at what temperature should be put?
not bad, could i do that with 4 or 5d film
I'm soooo clausterphobic watching your videos lol
Dude !!! You look like Paul Walker !!!
Just wondering if you will install Bi-Xenon headlights for your F30 anytime soon. Thanks
Did you film the installation of the shark fin? I wrapped my roof and antenna but the antenna is lifted not all the away down to the roof?
I didn't, but I'm going to pull it off and show how to mount it
sounds good and thank you for your content !

Did it mess with the antenna signal?
That sound of cutting...
So when's done just put it back or do I need anything?
You'll need to use some kind of very strong adhesive. I used the Gorilla brand. I think there is a link in the description for it..
Kies Motorsports so it has to be water proof?
Yea, or water will leak in your car
What brand & type of vinyl did you use?
Hi, there's a link in the description
whats the shark fin model????
Can I use hair dryer fro heating ??
Yes you can
did that hold up well?
It's held up perfectly:)
the only downside of stretching the carbon finish vinyl is that you are losing the pattern. Anyway good job
This is gonna wrinkle up sooo badly when heat hits it again(the sun)😂
Considering the car was totaled a year ago, I’m not worries about wrinkles lol
Logan Garcia

if humans had 4 arms, life would be easier
heat gun noise in fast play is so annoying.. by the way nicely done
I agree, lol. Thanks!
Can I just pay you to do it I live in Long Beach you did an amazing job I'll probly mess up on my Kia all day ☹️
Give it a try! 😀
Why not just buy a carbon fin?
Blocks your Navi signal/can interfere with radio
Kies Motorsports really? There are a lot of carbon fin on ebay? Are they trap????

George K
No Fun.
Antonio Nunez it will probably match better with the rest of the carbon fiber tho, as not all fake carbon fiber looks the same
You heated up and then you put it on
The fin is better to wrap it on pieces
+elcaregato I didn't want a seam :)
The thing is, with the time it can shrink back and wrinkle
Looked a bit difficult to do though....
Why didn't you just wrap the fin and roof in one?
Because it would make it much more difficult and if you mess up, you lose a 5'x5' piece of vinyl
