    I use Avene products and am a big fan and have received great results! Thank you for this video! ❣️
    p.s. I am 58 years old and use Retrinal Creme Intensive (3x per week), Day Creme and Retrinal Eyes. I do not have sensitive skin and have been using these items for about 6 months on a regular basis and have noticed great results with more youthful looking skin. My dental assistant said I had beautiful skin the other day. I never thought I had “beautiful” skin but it really made my day. 💞

      @@TheBudgetDermatologist I can't get the Retrinal Avene in my country, but the Physiolift one works like a dream. I use cheaper retinols in between but always return to this one. Funny enough, the blue bottle L'Oreal retinol has been the only one so far I can use around my eyes. Maybe because it's milder and "greasier"?

    This is one incredible video you've done. I go to the drugstore and look at Avene and La Roche Posay and the array of products, all in similar packaging is completely overwhelming. You've done a fantastic job of breaking it down in a concise manner. Next you need to do the same for LRP. I've made note of what to buy and what to avoid for my skin type. Thank you for taking the time to do this in-depth review

      Hi there. I don't find retrinal so I will go with this. One question...if I use this night cream I have to stop my glycolic acid or has nothing to do with peeling and is only the name of the cream ?

    • @Parrot5884
      @Parrot5884 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@mariageorgiou7113 You shouldn't combine retinoids and exfoliants in one routine. Peeling is just in the name, but the products are incompatible nonetheless. You can alternate the products at night or use the glycolic acid in the morning (the latter is generally not recommended because of sun sensitivity, but use your discretion)

    • @elenacarrozzo5472
      @elenacarrozzo5472 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mariageorgiou7113 No they are not incompatible, or at least, not necessarily. There are no studies proving AHAs or BHAs incompatibility with retinol - what matters it that you listen to your skin and introduce both in a gentle, gradual way.
      For retinol or any derivatives I would start from one day weekly and slowly go up (at least, that's what I did). I have acne prone skin, dehydrated skin and I use salicylic acid and retrinal (the A-Oxitive Night Peeling Cream, to be specific) together at night and it does wonders, but it took me around three months to get to use them in the same routine.
      Also, I wouldn't suggest using any acid for a morning routine, unless it's very, very gentle. And make sure you add an spf at least 30+ otherwise retinol is useless :) Good luck!

I would add that while La Roche Posay is a similar brand with similar products at usually more affordable prices, they do tend to put a high amount of niacinamide in 90 or more percent of their products. If you’re one of those people who finds niacinamide makes your skin sting, burn, or turn red then Avene may be a good alternative.

    I really like avene. A big reason is because they don’t put niacinamide in everything. I just love your videos…always so helpful 😊

    The Avene spring water is also great to spray on your scalp after a shower, as I have a very red irritated scalp.
    I think it was due to frequent hair dying, I would colour my hair every 3weeks.
    I’ve been spaying the spring water on my scalp and it’s really helped calm it down and it’s not as red as it use to be. The peeling cream is great, on the second night it was burning so I gave it a rest. Then I tried it again and it was fine. The Avene tinted BB cream is great.

    Thank you so much for this video. I just discovered you and a new subscriber. I had my first eczema breakout in 12 years all over my face and eyes and Avene products were recommended but their website is next to impossible to navigate.The Cicalfate cream is used nightly still and I recently purchased the lip balm. I also like the eye makeup remover and the hydrance aqua gel. Now I'm off to watch more of your videos!

    I am using the Avene Active Cg serum, the Hyaluron Active B3 day cream, the Hyaluron Active B3 multi-intensive night cream with Retinal, the Xeracalm lipid replenishing cleansing oil and the Avene Sunsimed sunscreen, with the new Avene organic blue light filter Triasorb (i am living in Greece).
    All great products, with great results!

    Dr Maren thank you so much for this incredibly detailed review of Avene products. I had been searching and searching for days for a review like this. Then all of a sudden there you were today with the best review ever! Had ordered the Avene RetrinAl 0.05% a few days ago for my mature, rosacea prone skin ( erythematotelangiectatic,mild) the Tolerian Extreme Cream and the Avene Thermal Spring Water. The Thermal Spring Water is amazing! It makes my skin feel so good and it seems to take away the redness a bit too. Unbelievable how well it works.Have not started the RetrinAl yet but I am looking forward to doing so soon. I'm not sure if I will repurchase the Tolerian Extreme Cream. When I apply it to my face it seems to cause tightness and some redness which disappears when I spray the Thermal Spring Water. Otherwise it is very moisturizing. I wanted to know more about their other products and you have helped me out so much . Thank you again for all your hard work in putting this video together.

    I use the Tolerance Extreme Cream in the winter time. I have a stubborn area on my face that gets worse in winter, eczema, flakiness, this cream has been the only one that seems to help. 😊

    The Cleanance serum helped me to get rid of most of my acne while not drying out my already dry skin. I already use it for more than 2 years and I love it. I recently also purchased Cleanance Hydra cleanser and I'm even happier with it - even now in winter, my skin doesn't flake and it's actually not that expensive, considering it took me literally 6 month to use it all (200 ml).
    Xeracalm also helps to sooth my skin after exema and it actually prevents it, which is the first to do so! I finally don't have to use corticoids.

    Here in the Netherlands, the RetinAL is not available. However, there is one called A-Oxitive Night Peeling Cream that contains Retinaldehyde and Vitamin E (Pre-tocopheryl). Is that the same product you mentioned in the video?

    Physiolift yeux is just the French version of the Retrinal eye. From what I have found they don’t sell the American version in France or the french version in US. I spend 1/3 of the year in France and was confused about this myself but it’s the same line different names. I use the physiolift yeux and love it around my sensitive eyes. For around the mouth Cicalfate (see-kal-fate: cica meaning healing) the post procedure healing emulsion saves me from tretinoin peeling !
