    I just ordered the Naturium same percent retinaldehyde as the Avene. I love Avene and I get what she's saying about spending our skincare budget mainly on a serum but $79 is insane even with 20% off. I really really hope she reviews the Naturium one as it's way more of a budget pick than the Avene.

    Thank you for updating your older video in which you recommended CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum, Neutrogena RWR as well as Olay-you mentioned you liked that it had two forms of retinol. Unfortunately Avene is difficult to find in my area. I’m sticking with Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair!

  • @elisaastorino2881
    @elisaastorino2881 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    I've been using the Neutrogena. 3% as recommended in a previous video and getting great results. However, I wanted to try the Olay Max and it was on sale with additional coupons - I really thought you recommended it before. If it doesn't get results, I'll stick to Neutrogena. I used Avene years ago and it wasn't nearly as expensive as it is now, even adjusting for inflation. The other products aren't as bad but still costly, so I always get it at the pharmacy where I get my prescriptions because I get a lot of reward points and coupons. Timing that with a sale can even bring it down to half price!
    I just HATE pump packaging. I know it's more protective but it's wasteful. It's impossibile to open most of the time and therefore you waste a surprising amount of product. Some brands at least use the kind that unscrews but it takes a lot of work to get the last bit out. That's another reason why I like Neutrogena - most things are in good old fashioned jars.

    Fabulous straight forward content doc, and great pdf!!! Love how you break it down for everyone so we're not duped by the
    "beauty "manufacturers into spending money hand over fists that we don't have in the first place, for only placebo like effectiveness.
    I'd rather follow your professional advice, spend the extra money on a DOCTOR recommended product and get some REAL results, not "pie-crust promises " from the usual players on the beauty shelves in a Wal-Mart 😂😂
    THANKS for keeping it real ❤

      Taking it by mouth means it gets broken down in your digestive system and you get much much less of it to your skin because the amount gets distributed to all of your skin - in theory.. Use topical products. Cosmetic chemists develop the formulations and include agents to enhance penetration when necessary.

    Have read that OTC retinol products don’t really work?

    • @db-gb5xi
      @db-gb5xi 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A lot of derms recommend though but do say they will take longer to see results from. Also, as she and other derms and Lab Muffin, that formulation is important. Even if you have a product with retinal in it, that doesn't necessarily mean that all retinal products are equal to each other. Same goes for any active.

      The Avene that's her top pick. It's for use on your face, hands, neck,and your chest area just below your collar bone. That area that's exposed when you're wearing a scoop neck top.
      It has a funky French name that I can't spell, but it sounds like deck-la-je 😂, it's really, really good takes a super tiny amount but without a discount it runs about $80😊
