Interesting video, but many of the points are subjective / qualitative rather than objective / quantitative. To be transparent, I own a BMW with an S55 engine, so I have a bias. Is a 2JZ built from all aftermarket parts still a 2JZ? If you're changing many or all of the parts to aftermarket, it's not fair to compare it with a stock S58. The S58 block is aluminum, which is much lighter than cast iron, but you didn't give it credit for that. It's relatively easy to get 1000HP from an S58 with excellent reliability and drivability.
He has a point this was an excellent presentation presenting facts...the only point that he really missed is that the 2JZ is physically bigger and much heavier
Great video, very informative!
s58 is better for street/ every day use and track. But where jz is better at is drag racing, drifitng and standing mile.
Mike Essa won the formula drift championship driving a BMW with a 1000 HP B58. Papadakis Racing is running a Supra with B58 in drifting also.
