My dog always knows when I'm about to have a seizure. He starts whining and my family is immediately alert. He was never trained for it. My dog is a real blessing for me.
Patricia Silva When your dog gets close to the end (within two or three years of their life expectancy )get another and the new dog will most likely follow. some quickly and some from 6 mo. to a year depending on the breed. Trained them for years. For different purposes. They teach other most of the time if you get them as puppies they will take notice of the older animals habits and hopefully relate to them. We used to do it all the time with service dogs.
My Doberman had a sense of humoR. I remember one time I tricked him by hidingmyself in the bushes and he ran by a few times, looking for me. Then, after a while, he found me, using his nose, easy enough. But the next day, he tricked me by hiding himself. He let me call and look for a while but suddenly he jumped out of the bushes, looking me right in the eyes and I swear he was laughing.
My Dog Max is a red nosed putt and he saved my daughters life. When I was pregnant with her he kept nudging my belly and whining and after a couple of day of him doing this I went to my Doctor and told her I felt something was wrong and she done an ultrasound and they discovered that my amniotic fluids were dangerously low so they induced me that day! The Doctor told me had I gone a few more days and waited to my actual appointment date that my baby girl would have been delivered via c section and likely have died or suffered permanent damages. I am so grateful for my dog! He’s my hero and my fur baby!!!
OKAY, you had said PUTT by mistake, I also have a PINK nosed PittBull, NOT RED, BUT, she is a mix, BUT, her nose is Pink BUT gets more intense Pink depending on her mood, sometimes it is an intense Pink, it's really cute. I'm glad that your dog saved you from a sad outcome with your pregnancy. Dogs can really hone in on things that people could never do without machines in a hospital.
I can relate to this. I have a noisy neighbour problem that brings on a lot of anger and anxiety for me. My German Shepherd always comes to comfort/distract me when incidents occur. Not only that, but she now tries to pre-empt those feelings by coming to comfort me the moment she hears noise from next door. And it does work in calming me down because I want to show her I understand what she's doing. Sometimes I wonder who's training who lol
Despott That’s so cool! When I have migraine disorder/fibromyalgia breakout days my dog also stays beside me in the bed all day long and is super protective of me. On those days she doesn’t like anyone coming near the bed and she has to make sure she is resting with some part of her body touching my body all day long. She definitely knows I’m sick. They’re so amazing! 🙏💗💙🐾
Was it really Mark Twain who said this? I had this used in my national public speaking piece back in middle school but didn't know who said it especially as I found it in local vernacular.
Yes, I believe it was, and a number of google searches seem to confirm it. It is ALSO quintessential Twain wry humor at his best. As far as the language goes, the 19th century is odd in terms of language. Some of it is very difficult to the modern reader (including myself), but Twain somehow remains highly readable to this day. It is the reason they (or at least used to) put Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn on reading lists for middle and high school kids (before political correctness (racial terms, etc) started chipping a way at that). Hope that helps.
Dogs can smell the chemicals in our bodies. Anger, stress, and anxiety releases certain chemicals in our bodies. The same way they pick up on other illnesses or epileptic seizure
My randdog, from the first tie I saw him and met him, had a special connection to me. I treated hin like i treated my grandkuds and family. When I was with him alone, he stuck to me like velcro. One time I visited for Christmas and whenI got settled in and we all sat togethervin the liingbroom, he came and sat infrint if me. My daughter looked at him liokingbat me and said to her husband, look at him hes in love with my mom. I looked at him and yes, you could see his emotional connection to me. He was special and my oldest grddaughters bff. I had dogs before but not with the connection with him. Tug...rip you good boy. We miss you.
Dogs know fear. I had sleep paralysis and my dog started snarling and laying his neck over mine and protected me. He knew I was upset and did his best to help
Wow! In the wild wolves would do that to protect their mates from being attacked at the throat by a threat, since they know that is how they end up killing their prey. I am sure your dog felt the urgency from you.
Amazing. One time I had sleep paralysis whilst taking a nap mid day home alone & I could here my dog just going berserk outside my door wanting to get in & help me. never closed my door since.
This is why I always take it as a huge compliment when someone says "my dog isn't usually friendly, but he really likes you." I never seem to have problems with dogs, I'm glad they can smell that I'm a good person.
People have said the same thing to me. I love my sweet dog. When I first saw her she looked at me like she knew me and everything about me. I thought my mom may have sent her to find me. She truly rescued me.
There is an old trick that some pet owners use. If you have a friendly pet that loves everyone it meets. Tell your friend that your pet doesn’t like strangers. Introduce the pet and friend to each other. The friend being accepted by the “unfriendly” pet makes the friend feel extra special. It’s kind of like a white lie, but the sheer joy on the friend’s face is worth it.
I remember as a kid I was walking my dog and this guy came up & started talking to me. My gut was already telling me he was weird but I didn't want to be rude. He asked to pet my dog but she would not let him touch her. That freaked me out, my dog is usually super friendly (labrador). Got out of that situation pretty quick.
I believe that dogs can recognize who does not like you. I had an example with my own dog who get very angry with a neighbor who was disrespectful to me. The person tried to change his attitude towards me, yet my dog still does not like him even though he won't always bark at him unless he comes too close. Thank you, my dear Phoenix for recognizing an unfriendly person.
@@gabrieldee345don5 you misunderstand the definition of instincts. They can sense an earthquake coming, it's not just one thing (smell) that they rely on
Today my dog saw me crying and she slowly walks towards me with her tail down and lick my tears off my face and sat down next to me my father always hurt my dog when she was a puppy and i always save her and took her from may dad when he’s hurting her and now we got each other’s back they maybe hard to understand sometimes but your dog knows how to comfort you and love you like no other people if you treat them right they will repay you love and loyalty
My dog always stays with either my wife or myself if one of us is still sleeping. He stays in the room with the most vulnerable one of us so he can guard that one.
through the first 25 years of my life i had around 50 ear infections. My mom always knew when i needed to go to the doctor when our dog Jingles would lick inside my ear. Jingles could smell the infection. Her finding the onset saved me from a lot of pain from a severe infection of it untreated. Thanks Jingles you were the best family dog.
Most infections come from not drying your ears after shower (try soft tissue paper) or exposing the ears to AC breeze (both disturb microbiotic balance in it). You have it for decades, so you should know by now how to prevent it's onset.
I used love big dogs , biv dogs never had problem with , but now i get anxiety attacks and nervous af around after a big try to attack me and my niece , now big all growl at me .. i think more about person vibes they give off
My dog loved my ex husband and was always so excited when he got home. My dog started growling and trying to bite my husband and would not let him near me. To make a long story short my ex had began an affair with this girl and left me for her. My dog started biting him at the time he started going with her. My dog knew and wouldn't leave my side.
Allen yes it's true. My dog loved him and she started biting him if he got near me. She bit him on the mouth when he bent down to kiss me. I was so dumb I never ever thought my husband would do that. But. When I found out all the facts when it started and all my dog changed at that time. My kids and I couldn't believe it and I don't know how she knew. 💨💨💨
Dogs know when they’re being rescued also. My rescue group assisted the humane society busting a backyard puppy mill and those sweet baby’s were so happy to see us. ♥️. All small dogs, horrific conditions, since we’re a chihuahua rescue we took 7 of them, another group took 5. There were over 100 dogs in these broken down, rusty and filthy wire crates. What ‘protected’ them from rain, snow were cardboard boxes, collapsed, on top of them. 😡. That was a good day though, we rescued all 100. None of them had died thank God.
The title is misleading. Dogs can't automatically decide of someone is "bad", they just don't respond to inconsistency. The rest of the video is unrelated to that. The title should be "Ways that dogs understand and react to human signals"
Actually our dogs are pretty good at telling good people from ad people. We know when they're bad if the dogs don't let pet them. I think they know their intentions like how wolves smell danger.
Maeve, yes they can. I never taught my dog that and he was always right about a person. If he didn't like them, upon 1st meeting & was apprehensive about approaching them or in one case wouldn't stop barking till the person left, that person always turned out to be untrustworthy.
Hey whag about Kara Hartrich. She was a 4 year old killed on her birthday by her pet dogs who she had since they were puppies. I guess she was a bad person.
They don't like different, larger people can scare them, even if it's a poncho or something bulky in a dark shade. They don't like the appearance of shadows. I mean who likes something that looks eery?
My parents had a lassa apsa. We were helping them move in new home. My nephew (3) was also there. Postman asked him if his dog was mean? He said, No. The dog started barking at him and going towards him. He asked my nephew, I thought you said your dog wasn’t mean? He says, That’s not my dog! 😂
Anecdotal Evidence: My best friends gorgeous dog will not stop barking and acting aggressively towards me, she HATES me with a passion. She's also a rescue. With a lot of scars. I don't think I'm a bad person and certainly not cruel to animals, but It's not difficult to imagine that she may have bad experiences with males who look similar to me. Sometimes behavior doesn't have a deep almost mystical cause. Sometimes its just a sad story.
I had a rescued bird that hated all men. Never got over it tho it finally allowe my bf to pet him SOMETIMES. Had a dog rescue that cowered and cried every time you looked at him. He was pitiful. After just two weeks of love he was a new dog, but sirens still scared him silly.
Thats really unfortunate, because dogs have no idea who a good or bad person is. They dont even know the difference between right and wrong, nor do they care. They are just retards.
Dude i really think it about vibe about person i used be able to pet and play with big random dogs but after antisocial pitbull/boxer dog tried to attack me and my niece i get anxiety attack and nervous around big mean looking dogs .
I already knew several of these facts, including the one about cancer. When my sister was four months old, my lab started acting strangely around her. To make sure it wasn't just the size/age of her, we had some friends bring in their baby who was about my sister's age. My lab acted normally around the other kid, so we knew it had to be something to do with her. Roscoe (my lab) would often sniff her stomach and he would start snarling if anyone (besides me or my parents) ever touched my sister's stomach. One night about a month after he started acting strangely, it was about 10:00 p.m. and he started howling in my sister's bedroom. My parents went to check on her, and they found her curled up in feeble position, and touched her stomach to find that in was really hard. They rushed her to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with cancer. Later we found out that right under the place on her stomach where Roscoe always sniffed was the tumor. My sister made it through kemotherapy, had surgery, and we got to be able to say that she was cancer-free😊. But then, a year and a half later, Roscoe passed away😭. But he died a hero to my family, and he was the sweetest dog I have ever known. He was a laborador retriever mixed with something else (we aren't sure what.) and he was very smart. 😊😭😊 RIP. Roscoe... 😭😢😭
deadsilence7528 That's such a touching story. I'm glad that your dog was able to help save your sister's life, but that's so sad that he passed away though. 😢
@@jakea.8595 And if your too nice to your gf/bf they will take advantage of you while on the other hand once you feed your dog and let him/her sleep with you then he's your best friends
Dog sensing fear is absolutely true. On top of sensing happiness. Both of these scenarios happened in a matter of seconds, and I'mma explain how. I was walking home, from work. I had passed by this woman and her two dogs. I love animals, so my presence showed happiness. Both dogs sense my happiness and wagged their tails towards my direction. I told the woman that she had beautiful dogs, and she thanked me. I continue forward. Another woman, walking the opposite direction walks passed, awkwardly, and I just hear loud barking, from behind. The same two dogs that were friendly with me, were aggressively barking at this other woman. Who did express that she's terrified of dogs. That was such an interesting moment, for me because those dogs were just friendly with me but not this other lady. Your presence plays an important role in how animals will react to you.
My dog and I go hiking in the mountains near our home. One particular adventure a man started walking toward us with a knife in his hand. My dog, who isn't at all intimidating to me reared up getting in between me and the attacker. Snarling, barking, growling, and flaring his teeth with the most aggression I'd ever seen him have. The man put his hands up and ran away as quickly as he appeared. I still walk trails with my Mini schnauzer, and a little something extra made by Smith & Wesson. My dog's name is "Rocky" and I'm glad he was feeling strong that day.
Never thought a Mini Schnauzer would d.c o something like that, my Aunt had two of them. The killer in her family was a Chihuahua. Went to pet it one time when it was close next to my Uncle. Thought I lost my arm lol. This thing was vicious. Just saying
Snauzers are originally guard dogs, and toy versions of all dogs tend to be more aggressive than their bigger brothers!Napoleon complex for dogs!!Well thank Dog spelt backwards for you it's true!Give Rocky a nice slice of ham from me!!
This is what I've been told by several people when I mention that I seem to attract dogs who want to follow me...usually dogs who got out or loose from their owners. Frequently happens with cats, too, even if I don't show any sign encouraging them to follow me. A coworker with eight dogs told me I ought to be flattered, because they can "sense who a person is".
I don't consider myself a good human being but I would never harm a pet for no reason and this happens to me sometimes as well. Dogs in populated areas tend to just keep moving but at the country side or less populated areas they have followed and jumped on me with their front legs while sniffing. Once on a forest road I saw a boxer running toward me. Obviously that made ma a little nervous and I was getting ready to pull out a hunting knife (i said I would never hurt a pet but that doesn't mean I will let it maul me to death) only to get sniffed, jumped and drooled on a little bit. Idk who he belonged to but he followed me home, tried to follow me into my house. Hanged around my place for 20min before moving on. I also tend to get a cats trust quite easily even when they are shy. Just gotta stay low and make yourself small, move slowly and reach car out with your hand carefully and show you are friendly. They might come and check your hand out so you can touch them and maybecapture them without a trap. Works better if you have food in that hand. Probably won't work on completely feral cats thought. Sorry for the long text XD.
SAK- SOON. Remember as awesome dogs are(like my Yorkie and Maltese) they are also A lot of work. So don't take being an owner lightly. Good Luck! when you are ready.
My father in Law has a medical dog, and it will tell him about blood sugar issues, and it is trained to smell blood, so it will warn him if he has any ruptured varices (from liver trouble). It has already saved his life.
Alex Medrano Yes they are. Humans just typically react unfavourably to the feeling of disrespect usually implied by being called an "it" Calling someone an "it" usually has disrespectful connotations, so they react that way. A noun is a person, place, or thing, any of which can be replaced by "it" and made a more general statement, but still about the same thing given the same context.
Dogs are smart.. when I was in Cuba in April I had a group of dogs two night in a row walk me back to my casa from the main square. Every time someone suspicious would walk by or try to approach me they would bark and go into attack mode.
THIS IS ALL TOO TRUE! My ex wife and I had a dog during our marriage, and the dog "Princess" Would always growl and put her head down when a certain friend of my ex's came around. That person turned out to be a toxic person, and a sociopath! She even snapped at my now ex-wife once, and shortly after she gave away Princess, she cheated on me and the marriage ended! Another incident that happened around that time, my ex-wife (wife at the time) and I had a child together. When he was still an infant, Princess would stand guard constantly around my son. Princess would growl menacingly when my other would approach him, even though she had never done him harm. Now years later, and post divorce, that woman treats our son like a burden. I need to get a new furry bff.
That is so true they always guard the youngest among the family and they can sense if you have bad motive not actually being bad person but having this bad motive to his owner is can be detected by dogs.
Because we can see the dog clearly LEARNED not to trust the human who deceived them...the dog did not just spontaneously smell them and determine them "bad" people! So silly!
Yes and one time I'm crying and our dog just watched me cry then walk towards me and kiss my forehead (I'm sitting on the ground at that time) I was surprised at that time and whenever I'm sad he do funny faces then barks at me and his like smiling like cheering me up 😢
Dogs are so intelligent. I have seizures and even if they weren't trained, every dog I had one around knew it was going to happen beforehand, giving me a chance to get into a safe position.
One of my proudest moments... When an abused Rottweiler who didn’t like men sat on my foot facing away from me, protecting me while I sat on the floor.
My rottweiler did exactly the same 3 weeks ago when I had a medical episode at home. The police came into the house & my Rottweiler ran to bedroom where I was immobilised & sat on my foot placing himself between me & perceived harm. They are the best!!♥️
The title should read "Dogs can recognize a bad person, if the person has a history of being bad to that particular dog." You're on the cutting edge bright side.
A dog also knows if you've been around another dog. They know if you've been petting another dog besides them...they will get jealous if it's your dog.
I have a hard time interpreting human body language and tone of voice, like i can rarely tell if im being lied to, made fun of, etc. My current dog isnt so good at this but my old lab mix DJ who passed away a few months ago was very attuned to that sort of thing. Whenever i had to go somewhere in public where I would need to interact with people beyond a short script, and i couldnt bring a trusted friend or my dad, i would bring Deej and take cues from him to back up my own poor intuition. If someone was intentionally misleading me or getting aggressive, DJ would sit in front of me practically on my feet and not take his eyes off them. If they were being rude or mocking me, he would roughly nudge their hand with his nose or headbutt their thigh. He never growled or tried to attack, but he would put them in their place and tell me exactly what he thought of them. I miss him so much Edit: i never taught him to do this, he picked up on how upset and frustrated i would get when i couldnt trust myself to understand and he made it his mission to stick up for me, helping me out in the process. He knew that any aggression was a no-no so he figured out that since nuzzling or nudging dad and i was fine, he could probably get away with doing similar to strangers too. If we were passing a crowd on the sidewalk he would put himself between them and me too. The Goodest Boy
My friends dog loves me he always jumps on me and whimpers a lot like he's telling me I missed you. The greeting he gives me I want cry sometimes. Dogs are so loyal and trusting!!
Cats can help a person too. When my health was deteriorating from depression, he’d jump on me when I was in bed and he refused to eat until I ate my food because I would not eat and it was making me deteriorate both mentally and physically. I always got up to feed him, but not always myself. Sometimes I got frustrated with him but I gave him treats because I knew he was trying to help me out. There was a time he’d stare at me nonstop patiently waiting for me to get out of bed. Certain days I nearly collapsed because of hunger. Sebastian knew that about me. I know he hates when I leave because he worries about me and when I am outside of the house, I will hear him meow really loudly. Poor baby. He also blocks me from going outside and he will even attack me when I don’t do what I need or when he doesn’t want me to go out. He’s definitely a great cat. I love him so much. Sometimes he’ll sit next to me on the floor next to my bed and stare at me. I wish I knew why he does that. He seems to do this whenever there’s something going on with me. He did that today. I do have chest pain. I didn’t want to get out of bed today either. Today I was upset. I got tested for diabetes just recently. I have a lot of things going on with me.
Absolutely. Practically all my dogs had/have such a "sixth sense", especially my collies. I can tell how a person is from range, just looking at my dogs' reaction.
My dog always knows before I do that I'm about to have a seizure. He wasn't trained to. And our second dog also knows now as well. He gets nervous and has a sharp high pitch yelp/bark.💜
I had a pooch who would growel at anyone who went near my girlfriend. She was not a mean dog. She was very loving. She was obviously just being protective. Also because we lived in California we had earthquakes. The hound would start running in circles and whining minutes before an earthquake struck.
Once I asked someone if I could pet her dog and she said"be careful she might not be in the mood" so I pet her dog and she was happy and she said"she must think you're a good person" and I got so happy
Berlin the fox human thing :V same story happened to me I told the guy it was alright I was the real dog whisper b4 I could finish my sentence the dog almost bit me 😂
i used to be abused by a family member and my dog hated him. he jumped on him and growled and barked and his back hair was raised and everything. if he was in a bad mood my dog would not let him near me. later on, this family member decided he wanted to fix our relationship and abandon his evil ways so to speak, its been working and my dog now is super friendly towards him. in fact, i think my dogs reaction to his change of heart was a big factor in reparing the broken trust and me believing he was for real this time.
My drug house rescue, an English mastiff can smell drug addicts, alcoholics, and yes cancer. A drug addict she can smell half a block away and warn me. She can also pick up on peel with bad intentions. She is almost too smart. She will answer questions. When she want something she comes to me and I ask water? Outside? Dinner? And if I still don't know she will give me clues. She also joins our meditation circles and literally lay in the middle of the circle and lend us her love energy. People are amazed by her.
One time, I was very depressed and sad. My dog came up to me and started licking my hands. He was very serious and calm, not like he usually is. He helps me so much.
@@areesvalles1800 you don't know that you have no proof to prove your point and no one has proof to prove it exist you can't say it don't it's common sense.
I had a dog that growled at my first wife while she slept. Found out weeks later that she was being unfaithful to me. I don't think I would have caught on as quickly if I didn't trust that my dog suspected something.
Our dog Fergus had evolved to be an apex predator of cuteness. He would usually choose the *least* dog-friendly person in a group of strangers to gaze at, wag his tail, turn in circles, brush against, etc. He enjoyed the challenge.
Ann Rule wrote about an incident when Theodore "Ted" Bundy came over to her house and one of her dogs planted herself between her master and the guest, growling the entire time he was there. Not long afterwards, Ted Bundy was either arrested or on the run from law enforcement due to the fact that he had killed at least a couple of his victims by the time he met Rule's dog. What was even more interesting was that Rule was researching what later became _The Stranger Beside Me_ when the man/dog encounter occurred.
My dogs have always had the correct take on a person that was not good for me! I unfortunately did not always listen but if I would have it would have saved me a lot of trouble! Dogs are gifts from GOD 💙🐾💕🐾🙏
Night Star I'm sorry your mom had endured through that. My dogs do the same, on my bad days when I'm in a lot of pain my dogs have always been easier. Even my rat terriers today. My former rhodesian ridgeback actually became really protective, he stood always at my side in case my legs gave out. To clarify, I've no cancer, instead my case is several autoimmune disorders. Lupus and Crohns being the major of them. Still it's so wonderful to have companions or furry family members who will comfort and be so gentle around you when you're feeling down. Again I'm sorry your mom had gone through that.
It was midnight and my dog woke me up ...she kept licking me 2 minutes later a minor earthquake occurred EDIT:OMG thank u for the like ...wait why is it blue ?
I believe that most dogs can sense earthquakes and other natural catastrophes. My dog always gets nervous and very active like something is wrong. Later I'll find out there was an earthquake hundreds of miles away. He's never wrong.
Ashley Campbell Very true! Other mammals and even hens and fish are also much more sensitive than we humans are. They are far more sensitive to things we barely pick up. This is why I stopped eating ALL animals 14 years ago. When I learned how much they suffer in the concentration camps they’re jailed in for years before being murdered, i became vegan on the spot.
I have liver damage which seldomly causes massive pain. The hold on to the counter til I can sit on the floor lays me out kind of pain. My untrained lab/rott (who moved in one day when she was about 1yr old. I didn't get a say lol.) She was sleeping in the other room. My head was so foggy from pain I didn't notice her for a minute. She had woken up, came into the kitchen and started licking my face and neck, which she is not allowed to do. When I came to, I told her to "brace". It only took 2 tries. She braced and stood still so I could use her to stand up. No training, she just knew. I love my doggo.
Cancer definitely has a smell. Anyone who has taken care of end-stage cancer patients can tell you that. It makes sense that dogs, with their super-sensitive noses, can it smell it much earlier than humans can.
jaelzion Humans have 10 million receptors for smelling whereas dogs have 1 billion. So yes, if a human is giving off pheromones then dogs can most definitely smell it. You’re exactly correct.
That is so true. My dog Mitch would stand back, give a low growl and his hackles would rise on his neck if he recognized a bad person. He also would only allow 4 people to give him food, me, hubby, one of my kids and my father-in-law. No-one else could ever give him food.
What about hounds, dogs were mostly trained to capture slaves, they would not even hesitate to devour their "owner"if you let them starve or if it just wants to..... I have seen people lose their face because of a dog, or babies being eaten and other horrible things. They are no angels by far they are canines, a demon animal, and they ALWAYS BEFRIEND DEMONS! LOL, totally opposite. Who do they relate dogs to who is their anscetors the WOLFS. Wolfs were the most feared demons of the night and day in Europe. So no, no angels here. Tamed demon hounds, that's all.
Ultimate Man They’ve been trained to do terrible things, and aggression is in instinct, but the very same is said for humans. Humans and primates show more aggression for selfish reasons, not instinct or survival. We’re more “demon” than any animal. You can have a very clear distaste for dogs, but please do keep it in perspective to yourself (or should I say humans since we are talking entire groups of things).

One of my friends hates my 2 yorkies, although she has 2 herself. When she comes round my dogs single her out from the rest of our gang and constantly harrass her. Its like they resent her. She will constantly roughly push them away, and they know what a cold uncompassionate person she is.
@@luisferr2001 I totally agree with you! If one of my friends hates and abuses dogs, I would've ended that friendship RIGHT NOW! Sometimes I don't understand why people OWN pets if they don't even TREAT their pets with love and care.
Yes this is true for my 2 pregnancies...when I would go visit my mom her dog would lay on my lap, put her face like if smelling my stomach, she was extra lovable and just wanted to to rest on my lap...when I wasn't pregnant anymore she would be her normal self, hardly come around, run and play...its was weird in a very special way how she knew.
Actually with my two pregnancies I was around dogs all the time the first one was for my son. The dog that was around me was named Diamond she was a golden retriever and black lad mix before I was pregnant she would jump up onto me when I was pregnant she would jump off to the side not touching me at all. The second time I was pregnant it was for my daughter who is now 8 months old. The dog I was around this time was my better half's dog that he has had for a long time named Oreo she is 17 yrs old and is a great dane and black lad mix. When I was not pregnant she would not lay her head on me or anything. When I got pregnant she would follow me around and just be a big cuddle bug.
Dogs like me for some reason. Dogs I've never met approach me with tail waging and let me pat them. when I visit a friend with a dog, it goes crazy and acts all excited. Can't explain it. Back in the 80's I had an apartment with a door at ground level. It was late February and there was snow on the ground but it was raining. I heard scratching on the door. I opened it to find a Beagle that was skin and bones and soaking wet. It just walked right in. I didn't have much food but I had a loaf of bread and a jar of pork gravy. I mixed it up and heated it. The dog ate it right up. Gave me a look of thanks and I opened the door and off it went. Never saw it again. I never owned a dog but I like them.
Dogs know if a person is bad? Misleading. Dogs can tell if someone is rude to their owner. But lets say the owner is an arse who has mistreated a person repeatedly, and, in front of the dog, that person finally stands up for themselves. The doggo now thinks that person is 'bad' but really its the owner that was bad. Kind of a really big difference when you do any sort of thinking about it. Also, many good people are afraid of dogs because of childhood trauma. That does not make them bad either. I got over my fear of dogs over time and love most of them. But if a dog charges at me, playfully or not, my trauma rages and I have zero control over the fear I feel in that moment.
Temi David Not really, depends of their breed and training, there have been experiments were a man simulating being a thief breaks into some owners house and fake hurting them, their dogs were present. The majority of dogs didn't try to protect their owner, some leaved the house, others immediately hide, others just barked at them, but none attacked them, the most "protective" were a Chihuahua, none were a fighting breed also. So, dogs don't know how to act in this kind of situations, they need special training.
It is true based upon my dog behavior towards different people. From my observations, certain people can come into my home with no problem even if the dog does not know the person but at times I noticed the dog would get really upset when people I know visit the dog would let me know that the person should be uninvited by constantly barking non- stop at that particular person.
Isn't limited to your home. In my case most of my dogs, especially the collies, show that attitude from far away. I can practically tell how a person is from distance, just looking at my dogs' behavior.
Very True Just Flo. They know when a person is approaching like or not like, your dog will show them up. I think that this is the reason why some people do not like dogs and it is the real reason why law enforcement use them.
Yup. Dogs can also "smell" extremely well, if a person likes them or not, or is a threat to them (or their owner), and act respectively. Dogs have a very distinct instinct and are highly intelligent, too.
when I was a child every dog that I ever met would adopt me and they love me and I love them. as I grew up many of the dogs I had died. I refuse to get another dog as an adult because I don't feel that I have the ability. to give all the attention that a dog really truly deserves to a dog and I cannot tolerate the dog dying I found it one of the most upsetting things it happens in my life. losing friends family pets girlfriends Etc. this is a very difficult thing to deal with. after I lost a dog I didn't want anything to do with dogs for a while. and the strange thing was dogs could sense this. and so I will go and do people's homes I knew and the dogs are freaked out because I was there and then the people are freaked out I could tell they doubted me they doubted my honesty or they doubted the goodness of me because their dog was freaking out and they trusted the dog senses. when you pre-judge someone for any reason without knowing the why because of that prejudgment. you're making a mistake. just because your dog does not like a particular person does not mean that there's anything wrong with that particular person.
I have to agree. There was a dog down the street from me that would actually growl and bark and try to attack me though the owner kept it on the leash. I have never been able to work out why. Meanwhile no other dog had had a problem with me. I try to do be as good a person as possible and actually try to be honest and do the right thing. I hate it when I make mistakes and and try to rectify it. So I really don't know why that dog acted like that.=/ The only thing I can think of was I was in a course that was highly stressful and I usually ran into it when I was going to the course. Maybe it was sensing that stress. I really have no idea why it acted the way it did. While dogs can sense behaviour. It doesn't really explain why one dog will be so vicious towards me while the other dogs were friendly and calm to me.=/ Can stress really make a dog want to attack you? I really don't know.=(
My dog used to growl and show his teeth at a neighbour of mine, who was always standing at his garden gate. I always apologised to him. We since found out that said neighbour was going out in the middle of the night and scratching our cars with a sharp object. My dog sensed his inner dislike /hatred, and was protective of me.
I had a dog named Gulliver. He died in 1994, I still miss him to this day! Anyway, one time my sister & dad were fighting , my dad was being very aggressive so Gulliver stood next to my sister & started barking at my dad. Another time I was crying about something & he came up to me wagging his tail & with a friendly look on his face. I know dogs don’t smile but he genuinely looked like he was being sympathetic!
I once pet a cat for an hour and then went to pet a dog, and it barked at me incessantly. When I'm not petting a cat, dogs are nice to me. There are other variables.
My late dogs definitely can recognize a bad person. They were friendly to most people but whenever they saw a bad person, they would growl at him/her. My dogs just naturally knew.
Trinh Nguyen Yeah Absoulutely! My rhodesian ridgeback named Hunter didn't trust my cousin, he'd do what your dogs did like growl lightly but he'd also put himself in between me and him, sometimes stepping on my feet. Later on I guess he stole some things from my grandmother's house across the street.
I remember my grand parents saying that dogs sense bad people . Well now it's scientifically proven , my dogs are super friendly but only once in a while they would get really aggresive around some people .

BRIGHT SIDE thanks for the fear tip i'm really scared of dogs cuz when i was little people scared me whit dogs
My dog always knows when I'm about to have a seizure. He starts whining and my family is immediately alert. He was never trained for it. My dog is a real blessing for me.
Patrícia Silva maybe he caused it
lol dogs don't like when their family is in pain. dogs that are super smart and sensitive probably can sense the difference
Patrícia Silva you mean your blessed to have your dog
Patricia Silva When your dog gets close to the end (within two or three years of their life expectancy )get another and the new dog will most likely follow. some quickly and some from 6 mo. to a year depending on the breed. Trained them for years. For different purposes. They teach other most of the time if you get them as puppies they will take notice of the older animals habits and hopefully relate to them. We used to do it all the time with service dogs.
Patrícia Silva awe ur dog need to stay healthy he is a blessing huh
My Doberman had a sense of humoR. I remember one time I tricked him by hidingmyself in the bushes and he ran by a few times, looking for me. Then, after a while, he found me, using his nose, easy enough. But the next day, he tricked me by hiding himself. He let me call and look for a while but suddenly he jumped out of the bushes, looking me right in the eyes and I swear he was laughing.
*VERY* relatable!

Got to love a smartass dog!😀
My Dog Max is a red nosed putt and he saved my daughters life. When I was pregnant with her he kept nudging my belly and whining and after a couple of day of him doing this I went to my Doctor and told her I felt something was wrong and she done an ultrasound and they discovered that my amniotic fluids were dangerously low so they induced me that day! The Doctor told me had I gone a few more days and waited to my actual appointment date that my baby girl would have been delivered via c section and likely have died or suffered permanent damages. I am so grateful for my dog! He’s my hero and my fur baby!!!
That's awesome pitt bulls are amazing
My dog is named max too😀
OKAY, you had said PUTT by mistake, I also have a PINK nosed PittBull, NOT RED, BUT, she is a mix, BUT, her nose is Pink BUT gets more intense Pink depending on her mood, sometimes it is an intense Pink, it's really cute. I'm glad that your dog saved you from a sad outcome with your pregnancy. Dogs can really hone in on things that people could never do without machines in a hospital.

My rottweiler senses when I'm having an anxiety attack. He would run from my livingroom to my room just come and comfort me. I love my baby.
Ah! My dog is an empath and whenever someone's going through a hard time, he senses it and comforts them. He has a good heart.
InQue Hamilton They are the best at helping with anxiety, PTSD, and depression! I truly believe GOD sent them to us as angels!!! 🙏💕🐾
I have a Rottweiler too lol

"The more I learn about other people, the more I love my dog." - Mark Twain
Jonathan Robertson I ❤️ 🐶s !
They are the best assessors of people!

Your starting to annoy me with that coin, Connor
Dogs can smell the chemicals in our bodies. Anger, stress, and anxiety releases certain chemicals in our bodies. The same way they pick up on other illnesses or epileptic seizure
My randdog, from the first tie I saw him and met him, had a special connection to me. I treated hin like i treated my grandkuds and family. When I was with him alone, he stuck to me like velcro. One time I visited for Christmas and whenI got settled in and we all sat togethervin the liingbroom, he came and sat infrint if me. Same. Our rotties done the same.
Wow! In the wild wolves would do that to protect their mates from being attacked at the throat by a threat, since they know that is how they end up killing their prey. I am sure your dog felt the urgency from you.
Amazing. One time I had sleep paralysis whilst taking a nap mid day home alone & I could here my dog just going berserk outside my door wanting to get in & help me. never closed my door since.
plot twist, what if the dogs are sensing spirits..
This is why I always take it as a huge compliment when someone says "my dog isn't usually friendly, but he really likes you." I never seem to have problems with dogs, I'm glad they can smell that I'm a good person.
Your cat must smell good
People have said the same thing to me.
@@MsEngelby thats kinda messed up
@@MsEngelby So all your friends come to see your dog now and not you.
I remember as a kid I was walking my dog and this guy came up & started talking to me. My gut was already telling me he was weird but I didn't want to be rude.

Apple Slices Unite they train dogs to sniff out cancer
Apple Slices Unite I'm not saying your lying but 25 year's is a long time for a 🐕 to live
Most infections come from not drying your ears after shower (try soft tissue paper) or exposing the ears to AC breeze (both disturb microbiotic balance in it). You have it for decades, so you should know by now how to prevent it's onset.

I'm glad you didn't punish the dog for protecting you.
So 😢😢😢😢😢. Glad you were able to rescue them.
Bless you. Humans are the worst species. The most cruel. We're getting karma now.
Cindy Wittet!, You are a baby doll for rescuing those dogs.
The title is misleading. Dogs can't automatically decide of someone is "bad", they just don't respond to inconsistency. The rest of the video is unrelated to that. The title should be "Ways that dogs understand and react to human signals"
Your right but I do think they have an additional way to sense a bad person immediately too. Like fear sensing

😊😭😊 RIP. Roscoe... 😭😢😭

They felt her negativity. She was emitting its vibration. Its also a factor of predatory alignment.

ZeoViolet it’s the same with my husband everywhere we go where there’re animals they always sit next to him. So interesting:) Both cats and dogs

A dog isn't an "it"
Alex Medrano technically it is
Then humans are "its" to then
Alex Medrano
Yes they are. Humans just typically react unfavourably to the feeling of disrespect usually implied by being called an "it"
Calling someone an "it" usually has disrespectful connotations, so they react that way.
A noun is a person, place, or thing, any of which can be replaced by "it" and made a more general statement, but still about the same thing given the same context.

When ever I cry my dog lays on me and licks my tears.
Yes and one time I'm crying and our dog just watched me cry then walk towards me and kiss my forehead (I'm sitting on the ground at that time) I was surprised at that time and whenever I'm sad he do funny faces then barks at me and his like smiling like cheering me up 😢
Kids animal Story’s my kitty cat used to do that, she was so gentle sitting on my lap and used her paw to wipe my cheek. Instantly felt better:)
K i dont care
Zexous OFFICAL why bother? Clearly you do
Cry less, take action to make things better and be ok with failure. Laugh or cry, try laughing. It's all a game and everything is bullcrap anyway.
Dogs are so intelligent. I have seizures and even if they weren't trained, every dog I had one around knew it was going to happen beforehand, giving me a chance to get into a safe position.
mine r good with that

One of my proudest moments... When an abused Rottweiler who didn’t like men sat on my foot facing away from me, protecting me while I sat on the floor.
My rottweiler did exactly the same 3 weeks ago when I had a medical episode at home. The police came into the house & my Rottweiler ran to bedroom where I was immobilised & sat on my foot placing himself between me & perceived harm. They are the best!!♥️
When me and my boyfriend fight my dog is standing desperately betwin us and trys to make us stop...

The title should read "Dogs can recognize a bad person, if the person has a history of being bad to that particular dog." You're on the cutting edge bright side.
I was looking for this comment. Even though I am 2 years late!
A dog also knows if you've been around another dog. They know if you've been petting another dog besides them...they will get jealous if it's your dog.
Mystery Man ya i was at my grandparents and their dog got jealous cause i petted some dogs on the street lol
Haha, I always joke that my dog thinks I've been cheating on her with another dog(s) whenever I come home after petting another dog(s).
My doggo sniffed every inch of me because i petted another dog while walking home.
Yes this is true that's why I told him I petted other dogs and tell him the name of the other dog or other animals.
I miss him so much
Edit: i never taught him to do this, he picked up on how upset and frustrated i would get when i couldnt trust myself to understand and he made it his mission to stick up for me, helping me out in the process. He knew that any aggression was a no-no so he figured out that since nuzzling or nudging dad and i was fine, he could probably get away with doing similar to strangers too. If we were passing a crowd on the sidewalk he would put himself between them and me too. The Goodest Boy
Sorry for your loss 😞
Give the new one a chance. It takes some time for them to get to Goodest Boy.
May God Bless you dear. Your story is sad I'm very sorry for your loss.🙏✊⛪

I have a lot of things going on with me.

i used to be abused by a family member and my dog hated him. he jumped on him and growled and barked and his back hair was raised and everything. if he was in a bad mood my dog would not let him near me. later on, this family member decided he wanted to fix our relationship and abandon his evil ways so to speak, its been working and my dog now is super friendly towards him. in fact, i think my dogs reaction to his change of heart was a big factor in reparing the broken trust and me believing he was for real this time.
My drug house rescue, an English mastiff can smell drug addicts, alcoholics, and yes cancer. A drug addict she can smell half a block away and warn me.

It was midnight and my dog woke me up ...she kept licking me
2 minutes later a minor earthquake occurred
EDIT:OMG thank u for the like ...wait why is it blue ?
Inayat Saigal yes, dogs and most animals can definitely feel an earthquake coming before it strikes. Their senses are so much better than ours.
Blue because you liked it yourself smh
MikeEnIke007 yes
It makes sense that dogs, with their super-sensitive noses, can it smell it much earlier than humans can.
pseudoscience
Gediminas Jesinas There's a woman who can smell Parkinson's accurately, so there's probably a chance that cancer has a smell too.
True
jaelzion
Humans have 10 million receptors for smelling whereas dogs have 1 billion. So yes, if a human is giving off pheromones then dogs can most definitely smell it. You’re exactly correct.
Pat S no we don't!
That is so true. My dog Mitch would stand back, give a low growl and his hackles would rise on his neck if he recognized a bad person. He also would only allow 4 people to give him food, me, hubby, one of my kids and my father-in-law. No-one else could ever give him food.

Probably could smell it, to be honest.
Just didn't know a way to tell you, cause you know they would have. Sweet babies always have mom's back 🥰
A dog is truly a "pure" angel in physical form... Angels don't befriend with demons.
Wrong there was a story that an angel fell in love with a demon
Dogs are angels but can be loyal to evil abusive owners.

Not only can a dog sense cancer they can also sense pregnancy as well.
This is true, I have heard stories of dogs realizing that something is definitely going on in momma's belly and they get protective
PREGNANCY!?!?!
@@lilies4536 Yep they can smell the HCG hormone and supposedly it also messes with the woman's smell.
I walked into a shop once and the owner's dog came over to me and lied down at my feet. Really friendly dog.
You are kind and dogs know it.

True. We humans don’t even deserve them ❤️🙏
My dog isn't very social, so when she fell in love with this guy I was on a date with... I knew he was a keeper :)
Wow
When ever I cry my dog sits beside me and whines with me
Dogs are very defensive towards their owners
Jay Kenley they're defensive you can look that up if you desire cos I typed that out of personal experience .
yes, they are and if you are sending out signals you don't like someone...neither do they!
Temi David yeah but blue nose pittbull YOU DONT MESS WITH
Temi David Not really, depends of their breed and training, there have been experiments were a man simulating being a thief breaks into some owners house and fake hurting them, their dogs were present. The majority of dogs didn't try to protect their owner, some leaved the house, others immediately hide, others just barked at them, but none attacked them, the most "protective" were a Chihuahua, none were a fighting breed also. So, dogs don't know how to act in this kind of situations, they need special training.
Jay Kenley to I'LL
I'm
I'm not
It is true based upon my dog behavior towards different people.
So I really don't know why that dog acted like that.=/
The only thing I can think of was I was in a course that was highly stressful and I usually ran into it when I was going to the course. Maybe it was sensing that stress. I really have no idea why it acted the way it did.
While dogs can sense behaviour. It doesn't really explain why one dog will be so vicious towards me while the other dogs were friendly and calm to me.=/
Can stress really make a dog want to attack you?

The "don't show fear" is an obvious one. If you show yourself as prey an animal will chase/attack. That's just instinct.
THAT depends on the breed.

Yup. Always listen to a dog.
Trinh Nguyen yeah mine is the complete opposite but it's mostly because of him being abused for his 3 years that he has been alive
Trinh Nguyen Dogs can sense evil spirits, possibly even see them.
And how did you know they recognized bad person? Were they wearing jail jumpsuit or something?
Trinh Nguyen Yeah Absoulutely! My rhodesian ridgeback named Hunter didn't trust my cousin, he'd do what your dogs did like growl lightly but he'd also put himself in between me and him, sometimes stepping on my feet.
Later on I guess he stole some things from my grandmother's house across the street.
I remember my grand parents saying that dogs sense bad people . Well now it's scientifically proven , my dogs are super friendly but only once in a while they would get really aggresive around some people .
