My cousin and I once visited a friend who raised bees. As we walked by the hives, one stung her on the arm. Our friend took a bottle of ammonia and put it on the sting. She went from tears to smiles almost instantly. And when I lived in AZ and told a neighbor about it, she said that's why they always keep ammonia on hand not only for bees, but also for scorpions.
I got stung by a bee when I was pregnant. It was the first time and everyone panicked thinking I might be allergic to it so they rushed me to ER. On the way, we got stopped for speeding but ended up being escorted to the ER. I wasn’t allergic and all was well.
You and your child got off very lucky indeed. I've known a person for many years whose mother was stung by a bee while pregnant with him. He was severely physically handicapped and had trouble with speech. If not for his mother being stung he would've been completely normal.
The most painful sting I ever had was when I was clearing a rubble pile on a farm. I pulled out an old rusty gate from the pile of bricks and concrete and broke open a wasps hive. Instantly the air was filled with angry buzzing yellow and black flying devil's, all intent on inflicting as much pain on me as possible. Instinct took over and I ran like I'd never run before, but this was not fast enough and within seconds I felt the 1st shot of pain on my arm (it was summer and I was wearing just shorts and a t-shirt), I headed for my car and had only suffered half a dozen stings by the time I had my door open. I flung myself in and slammed the door behind me, but 1 last wasp made it onto my flesh. It landed in the waistband of my shorts and got trapped, stinging me over and over at the top of my buttocks, I jumped like I'd been hit with a lightning bolt and crushed the little b@stard to death, but the damage was done. My arse swelled like an over inflated balloon and turned the colour of a ripe cherry. The pain was excruciating, it throbbed and burned and nothing I did would ease it, for hours I couldn't move without almost crying, and for days I couldn't sit properly or sleep on my back. I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone, and steer clear of any situation that could result in a replay of one of the worst times of my life.
The most painful sting I got was the first time I got stung, I was mowing the grass when something flew into my shoe then stung me and then crawled deeper into the shoe and when I took it off it proceeded to stay in my shoe and around the lawn mower for about 30 minutes the pain of the sting wasn't that bad but the shame of having my shoe stolen by a bug still hurts today
I find it hard to believe that bees only sting you when you’re threatening them. The first and only time I got stung by a bee I was at a water park with my family and, when I was waiting to go down a slide, my hand was on this plastic wheel behind me. Little did I know a bee had climbed onto my hand and promptly stung me. Suicide? We’ll never know (before you say it was a wasp, the stinger was stuck in my hand afterwards).
It could've been a wasp aswell. They seem to be much more hostile at least around where i live. They get angry during the summer and can sting even if you do nothing. Bees however are usually calm as long as you don't do anything to them
Bee’s can survive stinging someone, if the stinger stays intact and you leave the bee unbothered when they try to take it out; most likely if was just a bee that gave no fucks
If you wanna save yourself 20 minutes: The stinger on a bee is barbed, so when it tries to pull itself free, it really just pulls its digestive tract, muscles and nerves out, like pulling the meat off of a chicken wing in a good slide.
I've only ever been stung by a hornet, and it happened because they made a nest on my garbage bin outside. I forgot they lived there, took out the trash, and got stung once. It was pretty painful but I was surprised that only one of them stung me. After watching this i was kinda surprised to hear that hornets are less hostile than wasps
My dad made me go get the dogs water bowl from our garage and I was hyper at the moment so I decided to punch his work pants for fun but he didn't use them for like 1month so there was a wasp nest so I grabbed the bowl and boom 1 or 2 wasps flew out and stung me like 4 different areas I ran into the house with the bowl then I came out with hairspray and lighter and yes I did ask before I did it so that was my fun for the night
in short: the stinger is a part of their body, and when they sting you, the stinger will stay in and they’ll pretty much fall apart. I pretty much think wasps are immune for this.
Wasps are menaces. I remember when I was about 7 years old I was playing in one of those old foldable pools in the front-yard by myself in summer and I will never forget the moment my naive joy was stopped by the sight of the wasp floating right above the water In front of me. At first I tried to go under the water to avoid it but after a while I couldn’t hold my breath anymore so I went up again and the bastard was still there. Then after nearly drowning myself I decided to make a last ditch effort for freedom and run; only for my other foot to get caught on the side of the pool, I skinned my knee. But the worst part was that after all that mental torture the wasp just left me there… it didn’t even sting me. And I’ve never forgotten that day.
Paper wasps. We had a pool when I was little and they would always be floating around on the water, collecting it to make their nests. It would make swimming a little spooky sometimes.
I don't remember being stung by a bee, nettles however is another story, but usually I tend to avoid bees, I think this stemmed from when I was a kid as one time I was outside on the patio and I saw this absolutely massive bumblebee it was bigger than all others I've ever seen but from what I remember is I freaked out and went straight back inside which also probably explains me not liking anything that's bigger than what the normal size is.
I actually have been stung by one at summer camp. My staff leader actually had pick me up as soon as I was stung and ran me all the way back to camp as to avoid any further stings and get me straight to the nurses station.
Nice (well not for you but nice that your camp leaders immediately helped you) I got stung at my friends house when I was younger and I had no clue what to do and eventually I pulled the stinger out on my own when I saw it in my hand but my friends mom did nothing about it when I told her that I had gotten stung which is a bit irresponsible of her since I was little, the only other time I’ve gotten stung though is when I stepped on a bee at a park (I was wearing open toed sandals so my toe got stung)
I’ve only been stung by wasps, and I’m pretty sure I’m allergic. I was playing softball and it got me in the arm and my arm went numb for awhile. My dad is allergic. Never got stung by a honey bee. They’re sweet. I make sure to leave them alone.
I'm allergic to bees, anaphylaxis level. My most recent (a few years ago) bee sting experience was my worst. I was at a park in a pavilion which wasn't full of bees, but as it got hotter and the more sugary stuff melt in the trash cans, the more bees came out. I was just sitting, but moved to cross my legs, not realizing a bee had decided to make my inner thighs his new seat. So, as I closed my legs, the fucker stung me. I mangaged to get down benadryl and we went to the hospital. But after we got home hours later, I had a rebound reaction. *After* the usual time. So I had to go back for a longer monitoring 🤣
I once got stung by a wasp it hurts, but not as much as I expected it to. I put some vinegar on it and then it basically disappeared the next day. PS don’t forget to put A LOT of ice 🧊 on it and EXTRA vinegar!
Congratulations this is a terrific video. Thank you. I’m a relatively new bee keeper. I frequently get stung. Just one or two stings at a time. When you get stung remove the sting by flicking it out with a stiff leaf, a fingernail or a blade for example. That way you don’t accidentally squeeze the venom into yourself. If bees are acting defensively ( some call it aggressively) stay as calm as possible, don’t wave or flap your hands around, walk away from the hive asap. I start singing, it calms me and the bees although I sing badly. Fortunately we don’t have Africanised bees here and my bees have been bred for their gentle natures.
I’ve been stung by yellowjackets a few times, but never bees. I’ve even picked up wild bees with my bare hands a few times to move them if they were in water or in a spot they’d be stepped on. My parents are first year beekeepers this year, and they have italian honeybees. Their bees are incredibly gentle, to the point where if we’re not opening a hive (which would obviously stress them out without smoke), we can sit right next to the hives with no gear without them getting angry. They just go about their business and we get a close look at them. I’ve even had young worker bees land on my finger and hang out for a little while before buzzing off to get back to work. The only thing they might do is bump into your head if you cross the flight path they use to enter the hive. I’ve done that a couple of times by accident, and apologized to the bee each time lol. Some of Our pets have been stung because they are dumbasses who try to eat the bees, and my mom got stung once because she accidentally stepped on one that was in the grass. I love bees, and its so sad that they die when they sting mammals. Especially now knowing that they have no idea it will kill them :(
I actually feel so bad for how long you Put effort Into this comment. And I hope you're okay! And I was about to say. Why is your comment so long Which is I might be the most longest comic because I'm gonna talk a lot So once A very painful Wasp or a bee Obviously a wasp would be worse Probably one stung be when I was trying to get my car. Which is probably Supposed to kill me But I'm still alive And I'm not even that old Literally too young to die I guess that's enough Bee safe out there!😂
Years ago, I had a house out in the country in Argyle, Tx, near Denton. There was a tree in my back yard about 20 feet tall that had become overgrown by a wisteria plant. Every Spring, the huge and fragrant purple flowers would attract swarms of massive carpenter bees! While big and scary looking with black, shiny, round abdomens, these bees were completely harmless, so I used to stand right in the midst of the branches of this tree just to feel the creepy feeling of being surrounded by bees flying around me and past my ears with their huge buzzing sound, like little prop engine planes flying by! From childhood I had learned to be terrified by that huge stinging insect sound, so this was kind of an interesting experience to know I was safe but have the feeling of a need to run like hell. I called this the Bee Tree. It was fun also because I was training some video camera operators using the bees. For some reason, one bee would always hover for several seconds right in front of the back door, then it would suddenly fly up over the roof, only to return to that hovering position seconds later. I would have the operators place their cameras in manual focus mode and try to get an in-focus shot of the bee before it could fly up and out of view. Nature's little video trainers!!! It was a lot of fun.
Wow, thank you for this information which I found very interesting, I really enjoy your TH-cam channel which has entertained me after having sciatica and then having a steroid injection into the disc which was touching my sciatic nerve, I was on a cocktail of 27 drugs a day including liquid morphine hospitalised twice then 2 weeks after the steroid injection I was drawing my curtains when the curtain pole came of the wall sending me flying backwards breaking my fibular. I am suffering from PTSD and have a fear of falling and learning to walk again without a Zimmer Frame. I have to take it easy and can't perform many tasks so I spend a big part of my day watching your channel which is amazing... Sorry to offload to you but I know with depression and PTSD it is better to let out the fears than keep them inside.
I only got stung by a bee once. It was on a beach in Florida and I stepped on it (the bee hid in the sand). At first, I thought I was allergic because my whole leg had gone numb. I had to walk for approximately 1h with the stinger in my foot (we walked quite far on the shore and had to walk back to our hotel). I caught cellulitis (which started manifesting itself days after the sting) and sprained my ankle for a second time (due to the limping). I will never walk barefoot on a beach again.
I saved a poor bee from the rain it was on the path it was raining pretty heavily so I rolled my sleeve over my hand and helped it up and put it somewhere safe and dry although I’m terrified of bees I couldn’t just leave the poor little guy there in the rain
When i was a little kid me and my brother would put bees inside of empty bubble bottles then fill it with sand(or water) or shake it up til it is in the brink if death
Having never been stung by a bee, wasp or hornet I’m always still the first person to spot one and run - ironically I love the start of this video that essentially highlights that our fight or flight response can actually cause them to be drawn to us. I’ll TRY to think about this before I go into a frenzied arm flap & subsequent run next time…
You should. Believe it or not, he's not joking. There was countless times i've let one crawl on my arm, legs, and hands. The only time I've been stung by one was due to it getting disturbed, either by getting trapped by clothing, or me stepping on it, and also the few times I swatted at one.
That reminds me that at the age of 11 (the Events display a big part of my life) I used to stay a month with one of the closest persons I ever had, which is know dead and when we went outside, which would often happen there was one corner of a street, which was always full of Wasps. I was terrified and always ran. She told me I should be calm. In my first experience I was, but inside I was dying. I felt a Heat inside of me, because I was struggling so hard to calm. The came close, but did nothing, another time they landed on me, but I stayed very calm. Before even when a Butterfly would land on me I would run for my life. Then I missed my Chance to get a Butterfly sit on me and I was angry and dissapointed after.
if I can't run for my life far away, I tell myself "stay still, it won't do shit" and once a honeybee casually landed on my shoulder, stayed there for the same reason as me ig, to warm up w sun light as it was a cold day. I found it cute and stayed still. My fear decreased :)
I was stung by a yellow jacket right between my eyes on a motorcycle ride. I didn't have a reaction until the next morning when I woke up. My face was completely swollen and I kinda looked like a lion human hybrid 😆. Worst part was i had a full face helmet but I had literally just lifted the eye cover to get some fresh air. I was lucky that I had on sun glasses and didn't get stung on my eyeball.
@@benjithecorgi5714 it took a few days for the swelling to go down since I was too embarrassed to go to the doctor because of how my neighbor reacted when he seen me the first day of swelling 😆 Not the first meeting I wanted with new neighbors
@@user-mama_thomas You should go to the hospital as soon as possible! A wasp sting can kill you if swelling happens. I dont care how embarrassed you are at it, but if you dont treat it, it may lead to shock.
@@user-mama_thomas nice I got stung on my hand once by putting it on one my mistake, and I was screaming for a sold half hour, and the red spot in the webbing of my finger lasted for days, I’m pretty sure there is still a small scar there
Not the typical list video channel, that's for sure. A human voice that is a pleasure to listen to, a nice sense of humor, and scientifically accurate information. Excellent stuff.
I remember this one time where me and my mom were walking down this path near the woods and this wasp flew right in front of my face and I instinctively tipped my head down. After a few seconds it still was hovering there and my poor mom tried to swat it away from me but the wasp thought it was me who swatted at it so it began trying to sting me. I ran down the sidewalk and bolted across the street and I looked behind me while still bolting and it was STILL chasing me. It was persistent like it was determined to sting me but after running for another few seconds it gave up and flew away. My mom said afterwards that she saw the wasp chasing me down the street. It was not fun.
A honey bees stinger is made up of two barbed lancets, meaning when they sting, the stinger cannot be pulled out again. The stinger is attached to the bees digestive tract, so subsequently the entire digestive system, muscles, and nerves are pulled out, which is what causes the death of the bee. I just explained a whole 19 minute video now like this comment so others can see it
there is a lot more than this. he said this thing in the first 3-4 mins and there is alot more info about different species of bees, their impact, places etc
I like how you call the wasps a-holes, which I agree, especially in the early fall time the yellow jackets get very aggressive. On the other hand bees almost need to be protected, they are vital for our food supply beyond just making honey. If you see a bee, don't smash it, just leave it do its job.
Wasps and hornets are also pollinators so they need to be left alone when possible. If you want to deter them from your property, fill a paper bag with crumpled newspaper or plastic bags and hang it up somewhere conspicuous. Since wasps and hornets are territorial, they will think it's another colony's nest and will not stick around.
When I was 12, my cousins, my brother, I were playing in the trees, behind our house. My oldest cousin pushed me down & I fell on a rotten log that had a bee hive in it. They attacked & I got stung several times. Ever since then I have been extremely allergic not only to be stings, but to honey. I have come close to dying from anaphylaxis close to 10 times. I have got to be very careful with food, anything that has any amount of honey in it could kill me. It's been over 15 years since my last attack. I've always had an EpiPen & they've saved me on more than 1 occassion. The last time I had a reaction, it was caused by 3 bites of a honey ham sandwich. I went fishing with friends that made lunch, ham sandwiches. I took a few bites & my eyes started to itch, almost always the first symptom of a reaction. I asked if the Ham was honey cured, they didn't know. By the time we got to the doctor I was having difficulty breathing. But I was OK. Latter found out, it was honey cured ham. One of the worst things about this allergy is that I used to love honey. One of my favorite breakfasts, as a kid was toast with honey on it. Since then I've been very careful. In 01, I got stung, when I picked up a can of pop & didn't see the bee sitting on it. Same thing happened & my arm swelled up. This is one thing that I hate about summer. At least in the winter I don't have to deal with bugs.
I live in California you didn’t mention California or western United States. One time I was playing water balloon fight with my friends. On a school field barefoot and I stepped on a bee and got stung! It really hurt!! It was deep in there. I had to wait for a second to get the tools to get it out too.
YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS When a bee stings, and the stinger is in your skin, you DO NOT pinch it and pick it out!! It will only inject more stuff into your skin!!!!!! Instead, you SHOULD just swipe it away instead of pinching it and trying to wedge it out. -hope this helps
we once had a bee fly straight through the house, it was a warm day and we had both the patio and front door open, then we hear a buzz, we looked over and saw a bee fly in the patio door then flew straight past us and went straight out the front door, almost like the bee was like "Whoops, sorry took a wrong turn, cant find the hive, dont mind me, i'll make my own way out"
I'm my old house I had a door right over from a window. I had both open as it was hot. I sat there in my liveing room drinking iced coffee when this blue tit flew in through my window, straight through my room and put the door
I’ve only ever been stung once, by a dead wasp (yes, you read that right.) because it was “wasp season” where I lived and a few of them had found their way into the house. I was about five at the time, and we had a carpet floor. So, as most children with carpet floors did, I ran around the house barefoot- can you see where this is going? All the wasps that had gotten into the house had died, however one in the living room fell onto the floor after it’s death, with the stinger facing up. So, my tiny little feed ran across the house, and right onto the dead wasp- which was hidden in the carpet. Also, once again, I was five, I wasn’t looking where I was going anyways. But the stinger went right into my heel and my mom had to dig it out, it took about an hour because I was screaming, crying, and moving way too much. And ever since then I’ve had a intense fear of wasps. And I’m chill with bees as long as they are about a foot away from me. I just saw some others sharing their sting stories, so I thought I’d join! Edit: before anyone asks, it was a Yellowjacket….wasps are demons
Actually, there are videos that beekeepers have shared showing that the bee can back the stinger out as long as it senses you are calm. Bees aren't stupid and they don't want to die if they don't have to.
I remember I once took my dogs and my daughter to a dog park. My daughter sat against the fence and started to draw. My daughter had gotten uncomfortable and moved to a different spot. When she sat down she started to cry a few seconds after. Turns out she sat on a very small hornet nest that was in a small patch of grass. Luckily she was only stung by one hornet.
I was stung by a bee in 1st grade and i didnt even notice untill it was itchy then i went to the nurse and THEY GAVE ME ICE AND SENT ME HOME IT WAS A BEE WTF
this was one of the most informative, and entertaining video on bee stings i have ever seen in my entire life. Amazing job! I'm amazed! keep up the good work, please make more videos like this!
Before the pandemic bees were my biggest fear I recently had a HORNET nest in my house so I couldn’t be like anywhere without seeing a hornet outside my window, in my room etc. I was terrified as they are known as deadly! So when I went to bed I just slept under my covers and tried avoiding them, luckily about a week or two later we got rid of them but I hope it never happens again
I actually once got stung by some bee, but it was an accident. I was just a kid and was riding on my bike when all of a sudden some bee just flew into my bangs and got stuck in it, so the sting stung me by accident. But as you noticed, am alive and it did nothing to me, ‘cause am not allergic to their toxins :) It was a funny story, I remember when I came back home crying after this incident that I was gonna die, help, 'cause bee stung me and I was so hella scared and was yelling on my parents thinking I was gonna die. This story taught me a lot.
I remember one time I got stung was because I went to go turn on my hose in the front yard to go wash my dog and I just saw things swarming around me. 2 seconds later I realized it was wasps. A nest about a little bit bigger than a lightbulb. I got stung only once though, which is crazy because there was definitely more than 15.
Never had a problem with bees. It was always those damn wasps that went after me. Unprovoked, never so much as said a mean word in their direction. I hate those things. Always got stung for no reason when I was a kid. I get those bastards whenever they come at me now.
I was looking for this comment. I honestly have a fear of bees, wasps, bumblebees etc now. but in my area we have a lot of wasps, and they literally will chase you down just to attack you. Bees still bother me, but I’m much more comfortable working next to a hive of honey bees then next to wasps & hornets. For that fact if wasps or hornets are close by, they have to be exterminated for me to feel comfortable 🤣
Never even stung but my brother has been stung by pretty much every type of wasp and bee out there. He had an allergic reaction one time after getting stung by a wasp and his entire face swelled up.
Once I got stung by a bee in the neck, it hurt really bad and when I went to get checked, it turned out that bee-stung in a part of my neck, which means it got inflammation and needed to go to the doctor, and stuff. It was a complete pain.
One time me and my mom and a friend were leaving the pool and I stepped on a hive of the yellow jackets species and they all stung me repeatedly for about five minutes someone offered to drive us home I was so swollen I had to take medicine it really sucked one of the worst days I’ve ever had😢
I also got stung on the tongue once as well. I had a bad reaction. Broke out into a rash all over my body. Another time I got stung on the foot, it swelled up like a balloon. After those 2 reactions, I decided to get an epipen, just in case. Here's something that strange though. I think it's the pollen I'm allergic to or something. Because on top of the bee stings. I have a slight allergic reaction to honey. My mouth itches sometimes when I have it, mainly in large amounts like on toast. Any thoughts on what it is?
I've only been stung by the plague known as wasps, honey bees don't seem to get bothered by me working in the garden near them or even gently picking them up and putting them in a nearby tree.
I died medically sue to a stupid wasp. It stung the inside of my mouth, I died in the air ambulance chopper and was thankfully brought back. I now know I'm really allergic to wasps. And I tend to run from them.
I’m allergic to bees and I noticed that my reaction to it determines whether I go to the hospital or not. If I stay calm and don’t move around that much then I just get a VERY swollen hand or whatever body part for about a week. First day my hand is like a balloon and it gradually decreases throughout the week. One time I went for a bike ride right after I got stung in the shin, going to visit my friend at the time, and it spread the venom all throughout my body. I got hives over my entire body and I knew something wasn’t quite right. My 14 year old best friend at the time said “you just want to go home“. (I never let him live that down that he was trying to make me risk my life so I would stay over his house… lol) It was at that point that my throat started closing and I had to go to the hospital. On the car right there I just really wanted to go to sleep and my parents were freaking the hell out. They said I looked pretty bad but I remember just being sleepy and my throat being itchy. The instant they gave me the epinephrine I felt 100% and didn’t see what the big deal was. They gave me the EpiPen prescription and told me I NEED to carry the epiPen for the rest of my life… wherever I go and all that junk, which I don’t do. If I get stung I just stay calm and take it easy and luckily no epinephrine is required. I still have them just in case but I guess I’d be screwed in public if I wasn’t able to calm down or if it was particularly bad. I’m sure not everybody is as lucky but I have a feeling that it works that way with a lot of allergies. The fact that I don’t need the EpiPen unless I am exercising. It’s weird because I haven’t always been allergic to bees. There was just one summer where I just kept getting stung all the goddamn time. I think I eventually got an allergic reaction through maturing or through getting stung to many times. Idk though. What I do know though is that staying calm completely prevents it from going to my lips and mouth so I don’t get that numb sensation all over my body with hives everywhere.
I'm 54 and I've never been stung by any bee or any kind of wasp. 🤷🏼♀️ ... So far. I live in the middle of an almond orchard and have most of my life. Honey bees are brought in hives yearly too. 🙏🏻 Blessed I guess 🙏🏻
Forget the honeybee. It's the wasp that you need to worry about. I thought I had gotten shot again, and for ppl to see a grown man react to it. They probably thought I was shot too. It hurts bad bad.
I was in my parent's bathroom while *pooping* when i saw a weird bee, i called my mom and she told me to quickly get out, so i washed my butt and got out, i asked my mom what it was and she said it was a "hornet", i searched it up and found it TERRIFYING. but my mom said that they are more attracted to light and if you make a large noise they will chase you around or attack you. i was terrified that after that day, i always had my blanket attached to me. but i have never met the hornet again. i feel safe now.
I've been stung once. I made it to my early sixties before getting stung. Somehow, as I was getting into my car, a bee got entangled in my hair. I didn't know it was a bee. Without giving it much thought, I reached up to remove whatever was in my hair. The bee crawled onto my finger and stung it. After that, I found the bee in the back seat minus its stinger. It soon died. Other than the swollen finger, I did not have any reaction. The area burned a lot.
I had a bee bounce off the back of my head only yesterday. I was slightly worrieed because I have fairly long and incredibly thick hair and it could have got itself well and truely tangled, but luckily, it flew away more or less instantly.
I have had a particular dislike for bees ever since I went under my front porch and got stung by a bee right in the back of my neck because I didn't see a bee nest. There are also other times I've gotten stung which is the main reason I generally avoid and hate them.
I have to tell this story about my cousin's near death experience with bees when he went down to Tennessee for a summer camp. We live in Canada, and my cousin speciffically lives up outside of Edmonton, which is in Northern Alberta. His name is Henry. Henry went down to this fun camp in Southern Tennessee near the Alabama boarder, and at the camp, there was a huge beehive, about the size of his head. (Henry was 11 at the time). Now, Henry decided he had enough of bees flying out and scaring the others in his cabin, so he took a rock, and threw it at the hive. Needless to say, Henry ended up being sent to a hospital over in Nashville with 341 beestings. Now I, being blind did not notice any difference until he got back. I think he was helping me back to the car from the airport when we went to pick him up, and I noticed his hands felt way different than I remembered them. He does have rough and muscular hands from both hockey playing and growing up on a chicken farm, but I thought his hands felt far fatter than i remembered. I mentioned this, and he then recounted what happened to him, after he idiotically (his word) threw that rock at the beehive. He did recover, and a month or so later, his hands felt normal again, and he was able to play Mario Party 7 with me again, without having a hard time with the controllers. I won, but hey, at least he could play again. Now, Henry is really strict with his children about beehives, and almost screamed his head off at his son when he tried to poke a beehive with a long stick. That's what happened. PS, it was Henry that showed me this video.
wow, I wish you were my teacher :( You are always easy to listen to, have the perfect voice one wishes for and have a great sense of humor. Also, you always have something new for us viewers to learn. Sure enough, you are the GOAT. I sincerely applaud you, sir 👏👏
Mostly wasp for me too! I hate fire ants! 🐜 Never weed wack your yard in a pair of shorts & ant hills around! When I was younger & naive I slung them on my legs! “Never again has it happened!!!” Lol!!!
a random thought came to my mind... If they die after stinging, why do they stinging? a self protection? well we wont do anything to them if they dont sting us on the 1st place 🤣🤣🤣
The only time I got stung by a bee, I was in 5th grade. I was playing in the grass with my friend and threw my hand back. I accidentally slapped a bee and the stinger went directly into my hand. It hurt, but it felt more like I poked myself with a pencil. The stinger ended up going underneath my skin, and I spent like 15 minutes trying to dig it out before my friend noticed. She started freaking out and went to get a teacher while I was calmly sitting in the grass digging out this bee stinger. No swelling, no redness, no nothing. Still freaks my friend out to this day
Never been stung by a bee. One got stuck in my hair once, I thought it was a leaf and quite literally grabbed it, took it out of my hair, held it in my hand, and didn’t get stung. I have gotten stung multiple times my wasps, though.
If you don’t swat the bee or shake your arm like crazy if you get stung, the Honeybee can actually twist their stingers out. The process takes about 20 to 30 seconds. So if you somehow manage to get stung by a honeybee. Remember, give her time and she will be fine
I saw a TH-cam video where this farmer let a honeybee sting him on the back of his hand. He said give the bee a moment (be still) and that bee went around in a circle and got free. ❤
I got a sting as a child walking around a small lake. (More like a giant pond, if you ask me). A lake that has at least 50 people walking around it at any given time of the day. A lake that has no flowers or clover, just grass & crabapple trees. I never knew why it stung me.
I've only been stung once and it was a freak accident. I was doing push-ups in the exercise room next to the laundry room and felt a pain in my hand. I turned my hand over and there was a bee. It died and I pulled the stinger out. My hand didn't swell or anything but it was a little itchy. It had been flying low and my hand found it by accident. I found a few more bees and how they got into our house. I sealed the clothes dryer duck entrance and captured the remaining bees and let them loose outside.
Yor bady was full of adrenalin :) Lest time I got shot from bee was when I was use water pump and diden't so one. The pain and the red mark desepirt in minits :)

Well, I have gotten stung by a bee once! A bee had came through my fireplace and started flying around. My mom instantly got up because she was allergic. She got the fly swatter and tried to kill it. It got on top of the fridge and my mom is pretty tall so she got to hit it. I thought it was dead but I guess it got scared and flew into my room. I went into my room and laid onto my bed because I was tired of freaking out. Well the bee was on my bed and it stung on my arm ;p
I was once stung by a bee, it stung me on my stomach and it was a painful experience. I had to hold the temptation of not scratching it and it lasted for a few days
When I was 10 years old, I got stung by a lot of bees, I was just walking to see a near by dam with my grandfather and cousin, suddenly something stung me and I was not knowing what was it and in the mean time I could only hear their sound and around 30 to 40 bees were surrounding me and stinging me, I ran for life and the stung increase as my speed increased, actually an eagle disturbed the nearby beehive and they were stinging all of them on their way.. sadly my grandfather got several stung by bees and my cousin helped him, he ran to a near house and brought some fire... around 80 bee strings was removed from my grandfather's head and neck portion. We somehow managed to escape and my cousin got unconscious after reaching home and all of us were taken to hospital. Doctors told my grandfather nearly missed his death as he was badly stung. My Face and hands were swollen and it continued to be in that shape for around 3 to 4 days. I will never forget that day.
Really interesting. It’s like their sting is meant to hurt mammals as much as possible. If a bear comes and destroys a hive for honey that ruins their future generations and they wouldn’t survive the winter anyway. Dying in hopes to save their future and colony doesn’t seem so unreasonable.
I was walking home from the park with my sister when I was in second grade. We weren’t looking at our feet and ended up walking through three wasps fighting each other. All three decided to start stinging me so my sister and I ran back home. I had six stings total across my legs and arms, but my sister was unscathed. She has yet to be stung by anything even almost 10 years later. Anyways my stings swelled like crazy and I was bedridden for a day or two as a little second grader.
The literal only time I ever got stung by a honey bee was when I stepped on one while walking barefoot through a patch of clover flowers in our lawn. That was about 30 years ago when I was 5 or 6. I still remember my mom using a tweezer to pull the stinger out of my foot. At least bees will sting you if they feel they're in actual danger, unlike wasps that sting you just for existing near them.
I've only been bitten by a bee once. Never once was I stung, weirdly enough. I stayed away from them, sure, but i was always outside and running around like crazy.. Though, I never even managed to scare a mouse, not that I'd want to. It was indeed a honey bee
My brother and I were playing nerf a time ago and once we started the battle he went behind something that had 4 bees flying around it, I thought it was big flys that were flying around, but once my brother went behind he got stung by one of them, he was crying so badly. FUN FACT: the bee that stung him didnot die because it was a bee that would not latch on to him so it was a wasp that stung him.
i have seen plenty of bees in my uncles garden (that has tons of flowers) but i never got stung since i was terrified of bees so i just left them alone and i never got stung
Honey bees (Africanized different story!?) aren’t too aggressive! I try not to step on them when I see them too. They’re pollinating many things for us! U r doing great avoiding & letting them take care of us!? Part of the cycle of plant life! They are very important! Fire ants ,wasp ,horsefly, & a few others…… I’m killing those too close to the home front(LOL!!!) I’m mixing & spraying certain wasp & nest all the time….. gives me a sense of gratification too! Bahahahahah!
@@orlandojohnson5742 i think the bees in the garden think im weird- I run away when i see on, for some reason i have a weird habit of looking at the flowers to see if they got the pollen already lol
Since many people are sharing stories! My cousin once, purely out of naught, threw a stone at the hive. The whole hive attacked him. His shrieks were heard and his father immediately came and wrapped him in a quilt. Then, joined by his brother (Uncle), started beating the hell out of quilt wrapped ten years old with a pair of brooms. He survived but was infirmed for many days. Now it is recalled as a funny story. 😬

What a interesting 📖 lol I would be crying 24/7 if I had that happen too me

The most painful sting I got was the first time I got stung, I was mowing the grass when something flew into my shoe then stung me and then crawled deeper into the shoe and when I took it off it proceeded to stay in my shoe and around the lawn mower for about 30 minutes the pain of the sting wasn't that bad but the shame of having my shoe stolen by a bug still hurts today
You deliver this monologue in most calm and soothing way possible. Making a person go to sleep while watching a video about bee stings.
Wow
"AND IF YOUR ALLERGIC TO "PEE" STINGS"
I find it hard to believe that bees only sting you when you’re threatening them. The first and only time I got stung by a bee I was at a water park with my family and, when I was waiting to go down a slide, my hand was on this plastic wheel behind me. Little did I know a bee had climbed onto my hand and promptly stung me. Suicide? We’ll never know (before you say it was a wasp, the stinger was stuck in my hand afterwards).
It could've been a wasp aswell. They seem to be much more hostile at least around where i live. They get angry during the summer and can sting even if you do nothing.
Bees however are usually calm as long as you don't do anything to them
Yeah, bees are weird, I had a similar experience. I was just sitting in a playground, talking to my sister, when one just stung me out of nowhere.
I think it wa suicide mission
Bee’s can survive stinging someone, if the stinger stays intact and you leave the bee unbothered when they try to take it out; most likely if was just a bee that gave no fucks
one bee stung butt cheek when it as like 7 or 8
I did nothing
we don't have wasps in my house so it was a suicide?
If you wanna save yourself 20 minutes:
The stinger on a bee is barbed, so when it tries to pull itself free, it really just pulls its digestive tract, muscles and nerves out, like pulling the meat off of a chicken wing in a good slide.
Thank you.

@Repent or you will likewise perish. no

Also, Bees CAN survive after stinging. If you keep still and give them time to wriggle their stinger out, they can survive and go on about their day.
I've only ever been stung by a hornet, and it happened because they made a nest on my garbage bin outside. I forgot they lived there, took out the trash, and got stung once. in short: the stinger is a part of their body, and when they sting you, the stinger will stay in and they’ll pretty much fall apart.
I pretty much think wasps are immune for this.

That reminds me that at the age of 11 (the Events display a big part of my life) I used to stay a month with one of the closest persons I ever had, which is know dead and when we went outside, which would often happen there was one corner of a street, which was always full of Wasps.

And this is why it’s best to be active and fit, if you do that then you’ll have a more higher chance of outrunning bees
The exact same thing happened to me except it was when I was 6
Wasps are exactly like sharks so if you invade their territory they get crazy mad

1:56 they don’t sting insects that attack the hive, they launch onto the insect and flutter their wings to make the insects so hot that it kind of dies
I never knew they had nests on the ground?

Before the pandemic bees were my biggest fear I recently had a HORNET nest in my house so I couldn’t be like anywhere without seeing a hornet outside my window, in my room etc. I was terrified as they are known as deadly! So when I went to bed I just slept under my covers and tried avoiding them, luckily about a week or two later we got rid of them but I hope it never happens again
WHAT!? HORNET NEST IN YOUR HOUSE! That's pretty scary ngl
This was a lot more educational than I initially thought, thank you
Never had a problem with bees. It was always those damn wasps that went after me. Unprovoked, never so much as said a mean word in their direction. I hate those things. Always got stung for no reason when I was a kid. I get those bastards whenever they come at me now.
Same here. Every dang summer and always in the foot!
Those stingless bees sound fun to play with
Never even stung but my brother has been stung by pretty much every type of wasp and bee out there.

I’m so sorry that happened to you 😢, it must’ve been traumatic (please correct me if I’m wrong)
Yeah, sorry that that happened
im so super sorry it happend to you
I also got stung on the tongue once as well.
The itchy mouth thing happens when I eat peanut butter.
😂
I've only been stung by the plague known as wasps, honey bees don't seem to get bothered by me working in the garden near them or even gently picking them up and putting them in a nearby tree.
How do you gently pick them up?

@@trans_boy_kole7640 you're dead now?

Shot....again? Care to share?
I was in my parent's bathroom while *pooping* when i saw a weird bee, i called my mom and she told me to quickly get out, so i washed my butt and got out, i asked my mom what it was and she said it was a "hornet", i searched it up and found it TERRIFYING. but my mom said that they are more attracted to light and if you make a large noise they will chase you around or attack you. i was terrified that after that day, i always had my blanket attached to me. but i have never met the hornet again. i feel safe now.

Pet dogs a bum investment...That was savage😂

I found a bee in school I am a little kid am 6 years old

5:03 actually, there is a safe location because the colder it is the less number of bees (just head north)

Yet another cracking awesomely educational video from Be Amazed! Well done 💖
Still freaks my friend out to this day
ok not bad pain just X6 pain right?
Maybe because you got near the hive? or accidentally touched a part of it?

No wonder.. when 4 bees landed on me, they did not sting
I've more been stung by wasps than bees, but I never thought a honeybee went through so much pain after stinging!!!
