I rarely comment on TH-cam but I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your videos and that I love how thorough you are in your videos. Thanks a bunch!
Love your videos, very clear instructions and explanations. I’m having trouble with my cricut easy press 2 heat press.. it literally melted a 95% polyester shirt I was working on. I had it on 380 for 45 seconds
This was great - thank you! My issue is blurriness which I realize is from moving the press. I really want the clam shell version instead of my cricut square press. I need to work on that. LOL I tend to turn around and talk to people and that moves the heat press. Grrrr I’ve wasted a few zipper pouches but you live and learn! Thanks again.
You have a great way of de-mystifying sublimation. I have watched other sub videos and they seem to pass by certain (IMPORTANT) aspects of the process........Thank you.
Why don't the mugs from dollar store work for sublimation? How would I know what mugs to purchase at a department store or online? Is there any kind of coating I could put on the mugs from dollar store that would make them work for sublimation? Thank you, love your video's.
The mugs from Dollar Tree do not have sublimation/polyester coating. I would just order mugs that are sublimation ready rather than trying to spray that poly spray. Usually that is a horrible disaster
You have to have a mug with a sublimation or polyester coating. I just purchase mugs from Amazon or another retailer that say they are for sublimation. There are coatings but I have had zero luck with the ones that I have tried.
So glad you made this video!! I see many people in the different groups that but an eco tank printer thinking they can use the ink that comes with it. I feel so bad when they make that mistake.
Hi Angie. you explain every thing so well, thank you for that. i have a question, when i first got a sublimation printer i set up the icc profile to suite the type of paper that was supplied with it however since then i have purchased a sawgrass printer and now use their paper, can you tell me if i need to change the paper make and if so how do i do this.
Hi! Your videos are so good and so informative! I’ve been scouring the internet for this answer and and then it dawned on me that if anyone - you may know. …I accidentally purchased infusible mug blanks instead of sublimation ones. Too late to return them. Can I sublimate them??? Thanks for your time!

I purchased the Epson 2760 and installed the Hiipoo sublimation ink as directed. I charged the ink as directed on the printer screen. I ran the tests to calibrate the machine but I cannot get the print head nozzles clean. There are no gaps with the black ink, but several gaps in the cyan and magenta. (I can't see the yellow well enough to tell how that one looks.) I have run the cleaning cycle at least 8 times. No dice. I am reluctant to run the "Power clean" , because of the warning that it uses a LOT of ink, and might even prematurely saturate the ink pads inside, thereby needing service. Have you ever had this problem among the many Epson printers you have shown in your videos? Thank you for providing so many great videos on how to have successful sublimation products!
@@AngieHolden , yes, the printer was brand new! After an evening of anxiety, I spent a few hours reading the online manual. It recommended waiting 12 hours with machine turned off, and the doing another test. Luckily that did the trick, eliminating 99% of the clogs. So, I forged ahead and printed some images, and they came out fine! Thank you for your quick reply! I am a retired software educator/manual writer. Your information packed videos are exceptional, in that you don’t waste any time with personal, unrelated chatter. Thank you for that!
Hi Angie! I love all of your videos, so thank you for being very detailed. I recently purchased everything to start my sub shirt business. However, when I pressed a sublimation today, on a bleached shirt, the design started a faint yellowing after cooling down. Could this have been the parchment paper I had used twice before or a problem with the bleaching? Thank you!
Hello Angie your videos are extremely helpful, I have learned so much. Don't remember if there was a video on what to do when you heat press a sublimation image on a bleached shirt and the white part turns alittle just a little light tan. What can been done I heard to spray peroxide but when, when it's cold or still hot the image? Thanks fir all you do.
Prepress Tip: Be sure to let your blank cool down after the prepress before placing your print on it. I've accidentally gotten ghosting and smudges from trying to move too quickly and positioning a print on a blank that was still hot from the prepress stage. :(
I did my first sublimation today on s white poly tshirt and pre pressed and used heat tape. When I took the design off after time was up the tape had left yellow lines 😭 everything else looked great except that. What did I do wrong?
Angie love your style of teaching! I messed up on a sublimation mug and printed it upside down. Anyway that you know to get that off of the mug so I can use the mug again?
I find if you put something solid underneath the canvas (I use old, thick catalogs) that it will give you a nice solid area for pressing. Just make sure you use the correct height to be even with the wood frame.
Just sublimated my first tumbler! At first, I thought I did something wrong as it looked faded white and thought maybe it didn't press for enough time although I did the recommended 50 sec and 360° - then I realized it was some of the sublimation paper was still on it. After washing it, it is all perfect now! How can I prevent from the paper staying on? Thank you in advance for your help Angie!
hi again Angie, I would like you to cover using a download templates from the computer and a reason you that may not be able sublimate it to a cup for example.
This information is much appreciated -- and not easily found elsewhere on TH-cam. Thanks. Otherwise, I'm learning the hard way -- like buying Dollar Tree mugs only to find that they won't sublimate. I just searched your videos on sublimation coatings which I'm going to watch next! :)
Hi Angie. What does it mean when the black comes out more brownish when sublimating ? Or yellowing in the white areas ? Any help is appreciated 😊 Thank you for all your help love your videos
hello , I'm having a problem with my printer not printing the bounding box for print and cut, i have the same printer you are using. i just listen to this video and checked everything you told us. gosh this is a new printer and i'm at a loss. as always i turn to you for help :). ty in advance
First, I don't generally use print then cut for sublimation. I might print from Design Space but I don't cut it as a general rule. Second, if you are printing from Design Space, the box should print. If it isn't, that is a Design Space issue and nothing to do with your printer.
@@AngieHolden do you think I should notify cricut. Btw thank you for ALL the help you🫵🏼 have been to me over the years, you truly are a blessing. 👵🏻pray I can get the problem fixed .
Great video Angie and help me loads, just one issue I'm having problems with is the black parts on the mug are turning out brown or red and I'm having to throw them away.
Dear Angie, I watch a lot of your TH-cam shows. I have trouble with my sublimation. I have the correct printer, paper, and ink; it prints beautiful pictures. I have a Cricut press, and I have purchased sublimation blanks, but I am so frustrated that I can't get the print onto the item. I watched your 10 common problems but still can't determine where I am going wrong. I even purchased heat pillows for my heat press. I use the butcher paper, and heat tape the lot but nothing prints onto my item.
How do you fix the color gray that comes out green on a mug? I used a Sawgrass printer, sublimation paper and ink along with a cricut mug and cricut mug press.
Thank you so much for this video. I’m new to sublimation. I keep getting ink on my mugs where ink shouldn’t be lol. When I put the design on, I make sure I clean the mug and there’s nothing on the design paper but after I press it there’s smudges of ink on the mug. How can I fix this?
It is probably on your paper but you can't see it before pressing. My guess would be your printer is dirty or your paper is curling and hitting the print head. For the dirty printer, clean any visible areas and run plain paper through printing like one letter on each copy a few times. For curling paper, check the humidity in your space, how you store your paper, etc. Usually it is something that is causing it to curl up.
Great video. 💕💕👍Just getting started with my heat press. How do you know what pressure is set on my swing away press. The knob doesn’t have settings, I just urn it. So I need a way to judge the pressure. Any ideas?
I am making fabric tags for my pouches, I got a cotton ribbon for tags. Printing is okay but I am struggling with placing the ribbon on the printed tags. They seem to get off the grid. Thanks for your kind reply.
I assume you are using Cricut Design Space to print. That is why you have the frame. Use another program to not have that. You can see some options here: th-cam.com/video/TGalh6abV1w/w-d-xo.html
@@AngieHolden I watched the video you recommended, very informative. However it doesn’t answer a big question I have. Can I save my projects that I do in DS to outside the program, like my hard drive?

So I have 20oz skinny stainless tumbler. I printed on sub paper, with sub ink and photo looked great. My press said 350 degress for 120 seconds rotate and another 50 sec. The Color did not transfer but did leave dark grey in some area
@angieholden I print out my designs on easy subli vinyl and I hover my heat press over the design to dry it for 2 minutes. I put it aside to let it cool down, then I put it on my Cricut standard grip green mat and send through Cricut Maker 3 with normal cutting pressures, as its cutting, the rollers are causing streaking marks on my design. I know for a fact it is not banding because we already resolved that recently. How do I prevent streaking marks on my design from using my Cricut to cut out the design?
Thank you so much for your videos! For some reason my color is not taking in the middle of my graphics. Is only a small faded area, almost a like a line. The line is about a 1/4 of an inch. I have my heat set to 400 degrees and timer to 50-60. Any suggestions? thanks!

Hello thank you for your videos there very helpful, I do have a question my first sublimation I did with a tumbler in a oven came out burn and the blank melted from the bottom. Do you know why ?
I have never seen a TH-camr actually spending their time replying to every single question. Thank you so much. I have a few questions as well. Does it matter if I use the "Presentation paper matte" or "premium presentation paper matte" setting? I use the A-sub 125g sublimation paper. Also, I bought the Epson ecotank 2803. It seems like almost everyone has the 2720 or 2760. Is there any difference in print quality or anything else?
I don't see much of a difference between different "matte" paper types. Probably personal preference. There are no differences for sublimation purposes between the EcoTank models so you are fine there!
Hi Angie, I have a sublimation printer, printing on sublimation paper and using a cricut heat press 2. My image out of the printer is perfect, colors are great. Once pressed the color blue on my paper turns green once sublimated on the t-shirt - I am using a cricut t-shirt for sublimation and using the recommned time...why is my blue color turning green?
Awesome video. Can i ask why my images that I’m printing using google docs are not printing out the size that I’m selecting? I’m printing from an Eason.
Angie, We have #6 and #7 problems quite often. Sometimes we see a tiny dot on our printed paper (Sawgrass 1000). Sometimes we can't see them but do see a dot after pressing. We use all the correct things: sub printer, sub paper, 100% poly shirt. We preheat each shirt. Our customers will not accept with one tiny dot, so we waste a lot and don't make near as much income. We have watched videos about cleaning the printer. We have cleaned and cleaned and cleaned it. We have called Sawgrass. We cannot find anyone to service a Sawgrass printer. We are willing to pay for servicing but no one will take it on. Heat Press Nation won't take it; Sawgrass itself won't take them. Their only answer to us is to buy a new one. We bought this one a year and a half ago; we shouldn't have to spend $1500 and get a new one each year. Any suggestions further than what you have given. And, can you recommend any printer besides Sawgrass? We are willing to purchase a new one but we refuse to buy Sawgrass again since they have no service. Thanks. I hope you see this; I know the video is old. Julie
Sounds like the printer may have a small leak which would not be something you could easily fix. For a larger print, Sawgrass is still the best bet. You could maybe try the Epson F570?
I have an Epson et 15000, no issues until about a month ago. My images look great but if magenta is a primary color then after I press I have like a like red blurry shadow around the image. I would bet a clogged printhead but I haven't come across a video that has been simple or helpful. I have been doing sublimation for 3 years almost daily and this is first time I can't fix the problem. I use cosmos ink and Texprint xphr, think it has a new name now. Any help would be so appreciated. and thanks for the above video, it was nice to have a video so well done and easy to follow.
I use silicone bands on my tumblers and i cannot get my tumblers to not show that band. Also, the brown heat tape shows through sometimes on my tumblers.
hi angie, how about talking about seeing your heat tape marks on the cup, or maube what cause smy cup not to come out smooth like they were before sublimation? Thanks
I absolutely love watching your videos and they are always so helpful but I have looked through one of your videos and every video I can find online about issues with sublimation. I’ve pressed a few T-shirts with the subli hav on cotton and darks and they came out great, and I did one on a shirt the other day and the ink bled all over while I pressed it and then today, I tried to do a polyester hat, but it was dark colored so I did the easy subli and my ink bled all over again so what am I doing wrong?
Hi! Do you have a video showing how to find those setting? I have searched printer and computer and I can't find those options. When I hit print it doesn't give me option for paper type. When I look in settings I only see where it says fast but no way to change it. I tried printing first image tonight and the black looks very grey and lines going through it I'm guessing that's banding... I did cleaning when printer was setting up.
Hi Angie, I’m doing mugs! Yay! I put one name vertically near the handle and didn’t mirror 🤦♀️. The rest of the mug looks great. Do you know of any trick fix ideas for a vertical section of mug that’s probably a little less than an inch wide? Thanks!!
First I would say to make sure you go to the Epson website and download the right driver for your printer. Second, I walk through some of those paper settings in this video: th-cam.com/video/6tMxWsoO4gM/w-d-xo.html
Hi Angie, first of all I love all of your videos. I followed your instructions for setting up an Eco tank sublimation printer and pressed the image onto a polyester shirt. It looks great except for one of the areas where I applied transfer tape. It bled onto the shirt. Is there a solution for removing a transfer tape stain?
Was it heat resistant tape? I have multiple instances of people having trouble with cheap yellow tape from Amazon. I don't think there is a way to save your project. I would get a different tape. You can see some brands I like here: th-cam.com/video/UrSdDvjQGNE/w-d-xo.html
Great video. I have a question though I converted my epson wf 3640 to a sublimation printer. I cleaned and ran the print check 5 times. The ink is coming out on regular paper but the black looks really dull. Is that normal. The colors are bright but not the black. Thank you
Thank you for this very helpful tutorial! In using what I already had - a Singer Steam Press (not using steam) - I am wondering if I don't have enough pressure. I have a lot of ink still on the paper, and my shirts aren't vibrant at all.
@@AngieHolden I'm going to put it up for sale and get a regular heat press. I had gotten it for applying stabilizer for bag making. A heat press will serve both.
First, if your black looks green it would be that you didn't press it enough. Increase time or temperature. I would press to a 100% polyester cloth to check your colors though and get them right there before trying tumblers.
This is good info for new sublimators. I have more experience and am getting a different problem. The “wheels”on my Epson ET-2800 run over the paper as they move the paper and carry the ink to other parts causing lines and streaks not related to an ink clog. Any recommendations?
Do yo have a video on how to clean a sublimation printer? Specifically, a sawgrass printer. I have extra ink showing up on my pressed projects that I suspect are from extra ink smudging on the paper from the printer. It is not my heat press, because it happens with my mug press too. The extra smudges of ink don't appear on the paper, but I notice it after the transfer.
Hi Angie, While making a tumbler today I wrapped & tapped my print as I always do. Once I removed from the oven and removed all the paper I noticed I could clearly make out the tape outlines. I made a second tumbler, double checking all my steps and the exact same thing occurred. I've been busy all day making tumblers to fulfill orders with no issues, maybe I'm tired. But 2x in a row.... Wondering if you have ever experienced this?
Great video! I've been searching for this answser but can't seem to find it! I have everything set up for my sublimation printing but the ink does not transfer to whatever I'm pressing, say a mug. I've tried various times, monkied with the printer settings and still nothing. My basement is cold, that's where I had my printer. It's upstairs now but I've yet to have anything transfer to the media. Will cold inactivate the ink? It has to be the ink. 🤔
@@AngieHolden I am living up to my moniker! I am so embarrassed! I put the wrong ink in the printer. Having a time of it trying remove the ink to replace with sublimation ink. I hope I didn't destroy my brand new printer.

Look at your print settings. Make sure you have best quality picked and turned off fast printing. You also want to try a matte paper setting. Also, if you just converted it, it could be that your ink is not all the way in the printer. Print like 5 sheets to push it through.
Hello, awesome channel! I was wondering why my sublimation would bleed onto my clear vinyl backing. We are using siser clear vinyl and then sublimating on top of cotton shirts. I’ve ruined 3 tumblers. Any help greatly appreciated. Love your videos. Thanks, Joyce McLaurin, Jus-Say-N-Signs
You always have the best solutions!! I thank you for this!! I am still having an issue with my sublimating puzzles. Im using sublimation ink (I had put the ink that came with the Epson inside first and then suctioned it out to then put the sublimation ink in.) Im not understanding why the pictures that I sub, is blue.
If this is the first thing you are sublimating after switching, I would print like 10 prints and toss them then try again. The blue could be that your color is off from still having a little of that other ink in there.
Thank you we figured out the problem it was the ink. We figured because it was a sublimation printer that the ink that came with it was sublimation as well

I put it on the press I have a clamshell heat nation press I think it is,and they all keep coming out just real light. I want bright vivid colors what am I doing wrong
First I would make sure that your license plate covers are made for sublimation. Second I would make sure they do not have a protective coating over the top of them.
Hey Angie, You are an awesome problem solver! I have been loving sublimation however, my issue seems to be my black ink only. It looks perfectly fine and crisp when I print it out. I transfer at 400° for 60 seconds and all of my other colors are always crisp and vibrant except for the black and it will always look smeared. HELP! I can send you a photo so you can see what I’m talking about.
That is two TOTALLY different things. Heat transfer paper is used in an inkjet printer and does not last very long on garments. Sublimation paper you use in a sublimation printer and press to polyester or poly-coated blanks. It lasts as long as the blank lasts.

Just to be certain that you have a sublimation mug with a sublimation coating. Otherwise, certain mug brands or types can have an uneven surface. You can try an oven or more pressure in a press.

Pizza wheel tracks: We literally had to stop sublimating our own items and switch to outsourced POD instead because of this nightmare issue. We tried EVERYTHING...first we slowed down the printer, then we played with ink settings, we cleaned the wheels, then we tried removing some of the wheels (which actually helped some) and in the process accidentally pulled loose the power cord/tape for the printer head (which led to having to open up our entire printer's outer case/shell to plug it back in!). Yesterday I just learned the sub paper we were using (A-Sub 125g) is notorious for creating pizza wheel tracks because of either the paper thickness or the coating on the top of it. This was the first time I'd heard the paper could be the culprit! So we will be trying to resume sublimating at home again.
Oh my goodness, this is the paper Im currently using and iv just experienced this issue 🙈 iv done everything I can think of to try and clean it and even sent it off to Epson themselves to see if they could find the issue. I have printed (sublimation) dozens of Circuit Coffee Mugs using the Circuit Mug Press, both full wraps and single placement images. I use circuit heat tape and use two sheets of butcher paper. Just recently after sublimating a mug with an image after removing the butcher paper and sublimation paper there was a blue vertical line at the edge of the print almost the entire height of the 12oz mug. I did a second mug and the blue vertical line appeared once again but only about 3/4" long. My research indicates either something on the sublimation paper or caused by re-using the butcher paper. I inspected the sublimation paper after removing and there is no ink at the edges or even close to the edge. I did not notice anything on the butcher paper either (i did re-use a at least one sheet of butcher paper on the first mug, not sure about the second mug). Also during my research some have said it may be the heat resistant tape. Have you experienced this or have any inside on this issue? Thank you.

Hello! My prints keep coming out with a lot of black ink streaks all over my print. Sometimes its more or less but its usually when my prints are a dark color or red. I tried to "trick" my printer and started out with a yellow print on the page and ended with 2 red prints (all on a 13x19" paper) and it printed perfectly. Next I printed a very large dark purple print and the black ink blotches/streaks are all over the pages vertically. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks so much!
Hello Angie, I am very new to sublimation and I've wathed several of your videos. I keep getting white rings at the top and bottom of my tumblers. I am using a tumbler heat press. Not sure where I am going wrong.
That is a typical issue. The tumblers are slightly tapered so you will find that you need to really tape a lot on the top and bottom to get the print to transfer.
After a highly stressful day trouble shooting not only my sublimation process but also my vinyl cutter, the ONLY thing that has kept me remotely sane is watching 3 of Angie's videos! I'm still no further - think my printer is still printing normal ink out even though it's been emptied and purged. Nothing will transfer using my heat press. Not even a tiny bit.
Yea that is typical of a printer that had old ink it. Find a full color print and print it about 10 times. Then print another and try to press. Make sure you are pressing on polyester as well though!

Yes! You can definitely do that!
Hi does this work for case blank
I did my first sublimation today on s white poly tshirt and pre pressed and used heat tape. When I took the design off after time was up the tape had left yellow lines 😭 everything else looked great except that. What did I do wrong?
I let mine cool almost completely down and the paper was completely glued to the cup. I can't get it off
@@daniellehutson7766I would just try a different heat tape the one you got may have just been a bad one.
Angie love your style of teaching! I messed up on a sublimation mug and printed it upside down. Anyway that you know to get that off of the mug so I can use the mug again?
Not that I know of. I have been trying some things and will do a video if anything works!
@@AngieHolden thank you for your reply! I definitely will watch!
Sublimation on a framed canvas, please. 💕
I have that on my list to do a video soon!
Yes!!!
That happens! You can definitely just wash it off and it will be fine!
hi again Angie, I would like you to cover using a download templates from the computer and a reason you that may not be able sublimate it to a cup for example.
Here you go: th-cam.com/video/kfmzrLncghk/w-d-xo.html
Awesome!!! just possibly cured a problem using Orca mugs looking faded.... I'll run a test and find out
This information is much appreciated -- and not easily found elsewhere on TH-cam. Thanks. Otherwise, I'm learning the hard way -- like buying Dollar Tree mugs only to find that they won't sublimate. I just searched your videos on sublimation coatings which I'm going to watch next! :)
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Angie. What does it mean when the black comes out more brownish when sublimating ? Or yellowing in the white areas ? Any help is appreciated 😊
Thank you for all your help love your videos
Sounds like you are using too much heat.
@ ok thank you I’ll try it again
Thank you ! I love your videos. My Epson ET2720 will not accept ink anymore.
Sorry? What do you mean it won't accept the ink?
hey angie, I love this video I did a cleaning head and my blue color is still not showing up, what could I do before I had to get a new printer?
After cleaning, you can wait 24 hours and see if it starts flowing. You can also do multiple cleanings.
Thank you for your videos! My question ( and I'm new at sublimation) is why is my sublimation paper sticking to my tumbler after pressing?
That can happen and usually you just need to wash it off with some water. It is probably a low quality blank.
@@AngieHolden Thank you! When you say blank, do you mean the paper?
Blanks are the surface you are putting it on. IN this case it would be the tumbler.
@@AngieHolden Thank you!
hello , I'm having a problem with my printer not printing the bounding box for print and cut, i have the same printer you are using. i just listen to this video and checked everything you told us. gosh this is a new printer and i'm at a loss. as always i turn to you for help :). ty in advance
I would restart everything and try again. If it prints that way again, then call them.
Great video Angie and help me loads, just one issue I'm having problems with is the black parts on the mug are turning out brown or red and I'm having to throw them away.
Brown is over baking so maybe ease up on time or temperature.
You either do not have sublimation ink or you don't have a sublimation blank. It can really only be those two thing!
How do you fix the color gray that comes out green on a mug? I used a Sawgrass printer, sublimation paper and ink along with a cricut mug and cricut mug press.
My guess would be you are not pressing it long enough. You can add heat to the mug press. Just google how to turn it up.
Just wanted you to know that you have helped me so much!! Thank you!!!
Happy to help!
Any ideas?
I just judge by feel. Mine also just has a knob.
I am making fabric tags for my pouches, I got a cotton ribbon for tags. Printing is okay but I am struggling with placing the ribbon on the printed tags. They seem to get off the grid. Thanks for your kind reply.
I am not sure!
I love your videos! My question is how do I get rid of the thick black frame that shows up on my print?
I assume you are using Cricut Design Space to print. That is why you have the frame. Use another program to not have that. You can see some options here: th-cam.com/video/TGalh6abV1w/w-d-xo.html
@@AngieHolden I watched the video you recommended, very informative. However it doesn’t answer a big question I have. Can I save my projects that I do in DS to outside the program, like my hard drive?
When using sublimation coating spray for less polyester base t shirts if you happen to get a blue residue stain on the shirt from possibly not using the spray correctly do you have a trick or tip on how to remove the blue stain?
I am not a huge fan of those sprays! Maybe try peroxide?
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video.
So I have 20oz skinny stainless tumbler. I printed on sub paper, with sub ink and photo looked great. My press said 350 degress for 120 seconds rotate and another 50 sec. The Color did not transfer but did leave dark grey in some area
Two things: Make sure you have a sublimation tumbler with a sublimation coating. Second make sure you have sublimation ink in your printer.
The ink is not drying. This is why I don't use EasySubli with my Epson printers.

I do not! Have you tried this video: th-cam.com/video/UJMTSDMbCWc/w-d-xo.html

My guess would also be a clogged printhead. I don't have a video on it though. Sorry!
@@AngieHolden thanks for responding. I bought some cleaning solution so will see if that will unclog it

I never use the brown heat tape due to this. I also don't like the silicone bands.
hi angie, how about talking about seeing your heat tape marks on the cup, or maube what cause smy cup not to come out smooth like they were before sublimation? Thanks
I don't have this issue so it is hard for me to make a video on it.
@@AngieHolden any suggestions for me to try? I think pressure, I’ll try again later on.
My guess would be too much pressure.
Could be your print settings and printing with too much ink.
Do you have to use a sublimation design you have printed right away or can you save it for later to use on a blank.
You can save it for later. I have some I pressed many months later.
My guess would be you have the wrong printer driver. Go to Epson website and download the driver for your printer and install.
Hi Angie, I’m doing mugs! Yay! I put one name vertically near the handle and didn’t mirror 🤦♀️. The rest of the mug looks great. Do you know of any trick fix ideas for a vertical section of mug that’s probably a little less than an inch wide? Thanks!!
I don't! You could try to cover it up with something dark?
What setting do you use if your printer does not have matte paper setting?
First I would say to make sure you go to the Epson website and download the right driver for your printer. Second, I walk through some of those paper settings in this video: th-cam.com/video/6tMxWsoO4gM/w-d-xo.html
Angie, can you put one sublimation ink in the printer & when you refill use another ki8nd?
To switch inks, you would need to completely drain and flush the printer.
If I want to print on acrylic, do I need a special blank for that with a coating ?
As far as I know you do.
Great video. I have a question though I converted my epson wf 3640 to a sublimation printer. I cleaned and ran the print check 5 times. The ink is coming out on regular paper but the black looks really dull. Is that normal. The colors are bright but not the black. Thank you
You can't tell you bright your colors are until you press them. Press to 100% polyester to check. Some fabric from the store works great!
Thank you for this very helpful tutorial! In using what I already had - a Singer Steam Press (not using steam) - I am wondering if I don't have enough pressure. I have a lot of ink still on the paper, and my shirts aren't vibrant at all.
I have not tried those at all.
@@AngieHolden I'm going to put it up for sale and get a regular heat press. I had gotten it for applying stabilizer for bag making. A heat press will serve both.
hi,love all informations but my issue is my tumblers...on number 4 right now, cause first 3 are green. clear images but bright green
Those are pizza wheel marks. I would try this: th-cam.com/video/VfpbsaJXEEM/w-d-xo.html
I do not. But I would contact Sawgrass customer service and ask their advice before continuing.
Hi Angie,
While making a tumbler today I wrapped & tapped my print as I always do.
I have not had that issue but I have heard of people that have. What I have heard from others is they got a bad batch of tumblers.
@AngieHolden I just had this issue with my first ever tumbler and now im super discouraged about doing sublimation at all
Great video!
🤔
I would check the bottles of ink that you used and make sure they say sublimation ink.
@@AngieHolden I am living up to my moniker! I am so embarrassed! I put the wrong ink in the printer. Having a time of it trying remove the ink to replace with sublimation ink. I hope I didn't destroy my brand new printer.

After I set up my printer and convert and used the hippo ink and the correct paper I go and find a image and print it and there’s lines throw it ??
Look at your print settings. Make sure you have best quality picked and turned off fast printing. You also want to try a matte paper setting. Also, if you just converted it, it could be that your ink is not all the way in the printer. Print like 5 sheets to push it through.
Hello, awesome channel! I was wondering why my sublimation would bleed onto my clear vinyl backing. We are using siser clear vinyl and then sublimating on top of cotton shirts. If the shirt gets wet it bleeds. We pressed the vinyl at the correct temp and then adjust temp for sublimation. Any ideas to help control that bleeding?
It may be that the vinyl is not made for sublimation. I have used clear dye sub vinyl before but not the siser brand.
Heat Tape leaves tracks on sublimation tumbler. I tried, acetone, rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, vinegar, goo gone. NOTHING removes. It is a new roll of heat tape just put on dispenser. I’ve ruined 3 tumblers. Any help greatly appreciated.
Love your videos. Thanks, Joyce McLaurin, Jus-Say-N-Signs
My guess it is the brand of heat tape. I would throw it out and get another brand.
What if the tumblers not accepting print at all? We ordered stainless steel sublimation tumblers does it have to say it has the polyester coating?
If it is not printing, you either don't have sublimation ink or you don't have sublimation tumblers.
Thank you we figured out the problem it was the ink. We figured because it was a sublimation printer that the ink that came with it was sublimation as well
For a t-shirt, can we sublimate on part polyester, par cotton?
Needs to be at least 65% polyester as a general rule.

Is there a different between sublimation paper and heat transfer paper or are they the same?
That is two TOTALLY different things. Heat transfer paper is used in an inkjet printer and does not last very long on garments. Sublimation paper you use in a sublimation printer and press to polyester or poly-coated blanks. It lasts as long as the blank lasts.
Hi Angie. Love your videos. I have a problem when doing sublimation. On any thing I use heat press with. Some colors look good. And some areas on image are faded. Happens on anything I sublimate on.

Just to be certain that you have a sublimation mug with a sublimation coating. Otherwise, certain mug brands or types can have an uneven surface. You can try an oven or more pressure in a press.
If nothing printed on the mug, you don't have sublimation ink or you don't have a sublimation blank. You need both for the process to work.

I was just going to say try a different paper. Most likely you have the incorrect paper for your printer brand.
Thank you.
I am wondering about a bad batch of tape actually. Can you just put some tape on a mug you have already ruined and see if it transfers?
@@AngieHolden I am about 3/4 the way through the roll of tape before this happened. Possibility a bad area within the roll of tape....I'll give this a try though.

Hey Angie. I made quite a few license plates but it is fading with the sun. Is there anything I can use to prevent that?
I would purchase from a reputable dealer that has a warranty on the plates.
I don't know any supplier that will give a written warranty on license plates used outdoors...
