    Great, informative video thank you. Do you not recommend using automatic mug presses?

    Have you ever taped the edges on the top and bottom completely? does this create air pockets and White spots or does it help it?

    • @DailyDoseofDIY
      @DailyDoseofDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually don’t. In my experience it causes air pockets more often than it helps. Getting the paper trimmed up close helps the most with too and bottom air pockets.
      I will tape top and bottom and all around if I’m not using a sleeve tho.

    Very informative thank you!!! Do you by chance have recommendations/help on sublimating a tumbler with 2 images on it? I'm having trouble removing the line where both images meet & having them match up! 😢

    • @DailyDoseofDIY
      @DailyDoseofDIY  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depending on the image you may want to add a bleed to the edges when printing so that you have a little more area to line up and overlap. And I would line up the images and tape them together before adding them to the tumbler. Good luck 😊

    my problem is that i could see the tape marks on the tumblers. Any advice on getting that fixed?

    • @CherryBlawesome
      @CherryBlawesome 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From what I have read online, you have bad heat tape. I’d purchase from a highly rated company maybe? When you say tape marks, I’m assuming you mean yellow marks from the yellow tape. If that’s the case, heat tape shouldn’t do that.

      I use blue painters tape and regular masking tape, no issues

    • @nestorma9895

      I just had the same issue. I used a vevor double heat tumbler machine. I set it up at 250 for 90 seconds and turn it once. Ended up with dull colors, ghosting and tape marks. I think I did everything wrong but then this was my first time doing sublimation. 😮

    Awesome video! I am seeing the areas where I taped on the image at the top and across the seams. I'm using 18.5 sublimation tumblers from Michaels, A-Sub sublimation paper, image printed using Epson Ecotank 2800 using Hippoo sublimation inks, and a Gigu tumbler heat press. The image is uneven and faded you can see where the tape had been applied to the top,, bottom and seam. The heat press is set at 366 degrees for 70 seconds, turned 180 degrees, then another 70 seconds. Do you have any suggestions?

    • @DailyDoseofDIY
      @DailyDoseofDIY  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Have you gotten good tumblers with that press before. If you can tell where the tape was applied I
      Might try a different brand tape, then I would assume it’s a heat press issue

    Question for you.....I see you didn't tape down the top or bottom of the cup. I thought that this had to be done to not get the "ghosting" effect? Do you not normally tape down the top and bottom?

    • @DailyDoseofDIY
      @DailyDoseofDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Normally I do not. The sleeve will pull it in tight. I’ve found that most times taping the top and bottom will create wrinkles or air pockets in the paper and that’s when you get the white blotchy rims.

    Is there a difference in the color of heat tape you purchase? Ive seen rose gold blue transparent brown yellow...

    • @DailyDoseofDIY
      @DailyDoseofDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mostly just different manufactures. In my experience blue is thicker, but doesn’t stick as well. The brown is thinner and tends to curl up but it holds much better, especially on fabrics.
      I’m not sure if my observations are across the board as I’ve only tested 5-6 brands. Maybe I’ll have to test some more 😉

      Are you using the right kind of printer or sublimation ink? Do you have the right paper? And is it the right temp? I originally struggled with my prints not transferring, but it turned out that I was using the wrong ink + the wrong temp.

  • @jasminmoore877

    I’m not sure why but my image will not transfer to my tumbler. I purchased the Amazon sublimation tumblers, hippo ink , sub -A paper , epson printer 2800 and heat resistant tape. I set my heat press to 365 for 60 seconds and rotate I’ve up the heat to 385 and it still comes out blank or little to nothing. Any tips??

    • @lindabradford9591
      @lindabradford9591 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Are you using the paper with The logo on back and sublimate on opposite side and is it sublimation ink? That's the only thing I can think of. I use everything you mentioned and have no issues.

    • @jasminmoore877
      @jasminmoore877 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lindabradford9591 yes I use A -Sub paper But I notice the tape lift a little when it’s in the press so going to change that up and maybe try wrapping tighter some how

    • @lindabradford9591
      @lindabradford9591 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @jasminmoore877 it still should show all colors but it will be lighter where it isn't tight. Put your tape on the side that is over the other and pull the tape tight.
