    I really like your version of soaking and then using the oats for 'overnight' oats...delicious.

    I’ve never seen anyone add flaxseed to it! I’ll have to give it a try! 👍

    I make it but make sure it is really blended well, I do NOT strain it as the oats are so fine they don't bother us as just a drink, probably would strain it as a creamer. I like the idea of flax meal added though. But when I tried it as creamer, it takes a lot of oat milk to make the coffee to the color I like!! But it sure is a very delish drink cold!!

    Lovely! I love this version adding in flax. I make one with raw hulled sesame seed.

    If you add 1/4 cup of cashews (soaked or not) and blend, it will be amazing creamy.

    Does the oatmeal still retain some of the nutrients and fiber after you milk it?

    Looks a great way to make oat milk. I am going to make oat milk this way! If I make it by mixing oats and water and zap
    ing, I actually don't strain it but this seems a far more efficient use of oats.

    Ugh. I cant get the consistency right. 😬The oats release SO much starch. Ive tried 3 batches (all a no-go) and no matter how much i rinse/soak the oats, the “milk” is still slimy to the touch when squeezed thru the nut milk bag. Im sticking w almond milk for now... 😉

      I do understand this Alissa. What's "creamy" for some, is "slimy" for others. At least you can reuse the oats for overnight oats. All plant milks have totally different consistencies, so you have to find what works for you. Make sure you are subscribed as I'm going to do a fantastic almond milk recipe in the next couple of weeks. th-cam.com/users/gorgeouslygreen

      Sophie Uliano thank u, sophie! I am subscribed & love your videos! I wondered to myself if steel cut oats might release less starch... Either way, your recipe is fine! It’s just the *texture*- as you say-that got me. 💕💕

    But the unhydrolyzed starch is wasted when strained out, thats where most of the nutrients are. ☹️

    I wish people would stop calling milk alternative as milk. Some people don’t realize that just because you call it milk doesn’t mean it has any nutritional value of milk. Just because a liquid is white it doesn’t make it milk.

    • @SophieUlianoGorgeouslyGreen
      @SophieUlianoGorgeouslyGreen  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - some people call plant milks "mylk".

    • @joannlakes
      @joannlakes 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      nutritional value of milk, do you mean clogged arteries, hormones, and antibiotics?

    • @oneworld24
      @oneworld24 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joann Lakes no darling. I mean calcium and protein. As far as antibiotics it’s only people in the US that have allowed their farmers to do that. Your oat milk as per this recipe is exclusively full of anti nutrients which make it a harmful fluid to consume.

    • @joannlakes
      @joannlakes 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      oneworld24 I haven’t made oat milk yet but I do make almond milk with raw organic almonds and filtered water. I use that milk to also make kefir, though I do give the kefir grains some date syrup to eat and do their thing. They also reside in organic whole milk when they’re not working for me. Works for all of us. 🥰

      @@oneworld24 oh you mean the calcium that results in a greater rate of osteoporosis and fractures in heavy milk consuming countries and the main protein casein that causes an increase in cancer growth.
