    1 cup almonds to 4 cups water does not cut it. It would taste watery like store bought. Use 2 cups of almonds to 5 cups of water & you’ve got a tasty milk.

    • @bhusanur.cooking
      @bhusanur.cooking  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +40

      Absolutely, adjusting the ratio of almonds to water can indeed affect the taste and creaminess of almond milk. Using 2 cups of almonds to 5 cups of water, as you suggested, can result in a creamier almond milk with a more intense almond flavor.

    I have issues with my hands and was having trouble squeezing the cloth full of nut meat after blending it, so I strain it twice. The first time without a cloth, just the metal sieve. Set the nut meat aside and strain the milk a second time, this time using the cloth to collect the finer meal. So much easier and doesn’t take much longer.

    I add either dates or prunes for natural sweetness plus it helps keep things regular. For the pulp, you can dry it naturally or in a dehydrator and then pass it through a processor (I use the one for the coffee), and you have almond flour. Keep it in the freezer til ready to use.

    Not sure why, but when I used the skinless nut method, it still came out with a huge amount of pulp. I put the soaking nuts into my refrigerator overnight to keep it safe from pets. I then used the same type of strainer shown in the video, but that allowed too much pulp to go into the milk making it very difficult to drink without choking. So I put that milk through a smaller strainer with much smaller holes and that came out better but a lot less milk resulted, and I still had a huge amount of pulp. Can you advise? I want to avoid having to pass the milk through cloth. Thank you.

      Thanks for your kind feedback. For making almond milk I suggest you to use high speed blender/mixi. Here I used Nutri bullet blender for grinding the Almonds. Another tip, Start grind with small amount of water, blend to fine paste and later add remaining water to dilute the milk. Strain the milk is optional. If you want a fine and no pulp almond milk then, try to strain using fine hole muslin cloth.

However, the remaining paste use, while I did notice your uses for, I noticed besides using in many things, you can bake for crisps thins and or crumble to eat on yogurt, I hope these two are of interests to you, as I hope to offer in return even a slight portion of what you offered me with your posting. Thank you for letting me know which brand and model your utilizing, I definitely want to reduce excess time standing. Although I have a blender it's unavailable at the moment and under too many boxes....grrr. Plus it appears after a quick check, this model will work for grinding spices, dehydrated via electric or window rack sweet potatoes, apple peels and others for flour in lovely fine flour. The injury is permanent; however, I try to press usually too much, and in the same have to make some things less time consuming.

    What did everyone do with the left over almonds? I froze mine and am considering using it for a pie crust. I may freeze dry them to keep longer.

    Thanks, I am vegan and I miss all these recipes like coffee and overnight oat. I knew making almond milk but but had to trash the pulp and milk goes bad after 3,4 days and have to make specially for me so I didn't. But you gave me inspiration

    Whiĺe making thin dosai in cast iron pan, do you keep changing your pan to the sides so that you the heat is evenly distributed? I have a 30 inch iron tawa. I feel that it gets heated up in the middle part. I have tried using onions, applying oil and every other tricks. No luck! Any tips for me?

    • @bhusanur.cooking
      @bhusanur.cooking  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, correct😊. If I use a 14-inch pan to make a large dosa, I need to rotate it to cook the dosa evenly without burning or leaving it uncooked. So, I choose to make medium dosas in the big pan, and the problem is solved😊.
