I’m “addicted” to your videos, Sophie!! You are so motivating! You offer great ideas, common sense and great wisdom!! We women need to be reminded every day how to get and stay healthy especially those of us post menopausal! Thank you!!!! ❤
The WFPB vegan diet honestly didn't work for me. I tried it once for several years in my early 20s but was doing it wrong (back then in my ignorance I relied too much on processed soy foods). I recently tried it again, but this time with 30 years of experience and experimenting behind me, and using a calculator to track EVERYTHING. I'm 115lbs and 5'4". I didn't need to lose weight - I just wanted optimal health because I'm almost postmenopausal and having to work harder to keep the tummy trim. I tracked everything faithfully and made sure to get around 115g of plant-based protein each day from mostly whole sources (meaning, I allowed 1 serving of Orgain Simple plant based protein powder each day, but the remaining protein came from beans, tofu, and other vegan sources). The biggest negative sign was my hair became dull and drier, but there were other negatives, too. I have long, straight hair (almost to my knees) and it no longer looked healthy and full of life. That's a major red flag for me. I had plenty of veg (12 to 16 oz each lunch and dinner), whole grains, a little single-source fresh pressed extra virgin olive oil (about a tablespoon throughout the day), other healthy fats from avocado, flax, hemp, walnuts, and a few servings of greens and berries each day. I'm not a snacker and I naturally do not care much for sweets (a little goes a long way for me). My exercise routine has been excellent - I think?! 3 days strength training each week, 2 days SIT (5 rounds), and walking in nature for peace and mental health. Excellent sleep for several years (thank you Ayurveda self-care practices!). Anyway .... I gave it an honest try for 6 months until I noticed my hair getting dull and blah. I altered a few things in the diet about 2 months ago, and my hair is back to life again. I now say I'm WFPB as the foundation, but I also have high-quality meat. No dairy - that's always bothered me and actually packs on the pounds for me. Very little sugar - I'm not much for sweets anyway. No biblically unclean meat like pork and shellfish. I'm just sharing because it's been a real struggle trying to force what others say is the optimal diet ... it just isn't optimal for me, and I assume there are others out there as well. Maybe others have tried and did not get optimal results - as long as you were absolutely honest with yourself about the effort you put in (meaning - did you REALLY do it correctly and try long enough?), if it didn't work for you don't throw the entire diet out - tweak it until it does work for you. I hope this helped someone. I love this channel ❤️ so even though I'm not wfpb vegan I still get a lot out of this channel.

Hi Sophi I am currently gluten free for around 3 months now. I was told this can help with fixing anemia. I also was told it is not good to stay gluten free forever as this can cause developing sensitivity in the future when eating gluten . What are your thoughts?
I don't think you talk too much. Your tips for women going through menopause are very helpful. I'm thankful for you and your channel.
You can’t talk too much for me: your knowledge is absolutely amazing! Thank you Sophie. Love, Liz from S Africa.
Thank you Liz! I'm so glad you're a part of this community!

When I eat plant base I am starving. Carbs make me gain weight
