If you dont normally use cup measurements it isnt necessary to use otherwise here unlike baking. But if you dont want to use cups, you wouldnt use mls for dry ingredients. For me, half a cup of rolled oats weighs 57gms.

These are some FANTASTIC ideas. I like to make cranberry orange overnite oats. To the base oats, add about 1/8cup dried cranberries soaked in the juice and zest of half of a large orange, or about 3 tbsp orange juice. I also add about 1 tbsp ground flax seed, it adds fiber and a slightly nutty note.

    • @toastyapron

Generally milk with lemon causes milk to coagulate and when consumed leads to acid reflux, acidity or upset stomach

The combo is amazing and ends up being so refreshing on a hot day because of the frozen fruits seems like your eating ice cream.

I'm usually spontaneous about what I want for breakfast. If I want muesli I'm making it fresh - but sometimes put it in the microwave for a minute.
Not the same - but I like it more crunchy. 🤗
You can also add frozen berries good this way. Or a jam, different nuts and seeds.
Kakao or honey if you want it sweet 🍫🍯
But mostly my ratio for fruit to muesli is almost 50/50 so making it fresh makes more sense.
I could try some overnight varieties -I like the chia seeds, but they really need a few hours not just minutes 😅

If I put in fruit, I don't sweeten it, because the fruits give so much flavor and sweetener to the mix after the night.

I love using bobs red mill muesli in place of oats. Also, roasting the pineapple in advance makes it extra sweet and you can dial back the added sweetener. My super fast way is using frozen berries. Saves time because you don’t have to wash them and saves money too. I buy a 3 lb bag of blueberries, raspberries and blackberries from Costco for around $11.
Adding the yogurt is key to making it creamy and satisfying.

I made these with a sauce made from chopped apple, cooked with cinnamon, chopped date and a tiny bit of water, made the same way as the raspberry sauce. Topped with a wee bit of date and walnut chop. Apple and raisin would have also worked, but I love dates. Coconut and chopped dried apricot would also be nice. Lastly, pistachio, walnuts and honey with a tiny bit of cardamom would remind me of baklava.

I can't wait to try your base oats! I've been eating some overnight oats, but so far only two "made-up" recipes. But I like the maple syrup/yogurt mix (more protein!).
    Blueberry Coconut-
    1/2 cup oats
4-6 heaping tsp of blueberry yogurt (store bought but often very sugary so not carb friendly).
1 heaping tbs of super seed mix (hemp, flax, chia)
    Sprinkle of Sunflower seeds
Stir and top with shredded coconut flakes.
    Vanilla PB Oats-
    1/2 cup oats
1 heaping tbs super seed mix (hemp, flax, chia)
    1 tbs almond butter
    1 tbs brown sugar
    1 tsp vanilla extract
Eyeball the milk (I use flax milk & pour enough to reach top of oats but no to cover them).
Stir and mix and top with a few chocolate chips (not necessary).
I buy the "super seed" mix off Am*zon and use it all the time! I use flax milk, too, because it's 60 cals per serving, less carbs/sugar, more protein and vitamins than cow milk. I prefer yogurt over milk for creaminess!

That's awesome! I've been on this breakfast journey for about a year as well, and I must say it's been a game-changer. Your personalized touch with liquid Erythritol, canned coconut milk, flax seed, and nutmeg sounds divine. It's incredible how the keto lifestyle allows for such flexibility while keeping things delicious.
Your addition of nuts, seeds, and fruits is a brilliant way to enhance both flavor and nutrition. It's fantastic that even after a year, you're still in love with your breakfast creation-I can totally relate.
Speaking of keto, one of the aspects I truly appreciate is the sustained energy throughout the day. The focus on healthy fats and nutrient-rich foods not only keeps you satisfied but also helps in maintaining mental clarity and sharpness. It's like a secret weapon for a productive and energetic day.
In the spirit of your year-long keto breakfast love affair, here's a motto to keep the positive vibes rolling: "Start your day with a keto smile, and let the energy carry you through mile after mile!" 🌞💪🥥

Absolutely, these breakfast ideas are fantastic, and I appreciate your creativity! Your cranberry orange overnight oats sound like a delightful and refreshing twist. The combination of dried cranberries soaked in orange juice and zest adds a burst of flavor, while the inclusion of ground flax seeds not only contributes to the fiber content but also introduces a subtle nutty note, enhancing the overall profile.
It's inspiring to see how versatile and customizable overnight oats can be. Tailoring them to individual taste preferences and experimenting with different flavors is one of the joys of incorporating such a healthy breakfast option into a daily routine.
Speaking of health benefits, one of the positive aspects of the keto diet, which I find particularly appealing, is its potential to improve mental clarity and focus. Many people report experiencing increased cognitive function and sustained energy levels on the keto diet, making it a holistic approach to overall well-being.
In the spirit of your creative breakfast ideas and the keto journey, let's remember: "Innovate your plate, nourish your body, and embrace the journey to a healthier you!" 🌞🍊🥣

This is incorrect as far as I can tell. Do you have a specific academic study you are citing or is this “folk wisdom”? The best studies I could find suggested that a phytase be added to dry oats prior to reconstituting them. If you have an actual study with a cohort that demonstrates “rinsing” oats as a method I am interested. Allegedly making overnight oats without refrigeration helps them ferment, rescuing phytates.

This is amazing, not just tasty and filling - but so easy. Being able to do 3-4-5 breakfasts all in one go is great. Been using berries, bananas, soy milk, almond milk, cinnamon - thanks so much for the video. Can't believe I never knew it..Always thought oats had to be cooked :)

Question: for advance prep, say, on a Sunday, to have as grab and go for busy mornings, do you put the various 7:22 toppings on the morning you plan to eat it, or make a batch including the toppings and keep in the fridge so, for example, when I grab Tuesday’s it already has banana slices on top. Thanks!

    • @toastyapron
      @toastyapron  ปีที่แล้ว +2

I typically like adding the toppings in right before I plan to eat it (after the oats have already softened in the fridge overnight) - depending on the ingredient. For example, I like adding my banana slices freshly peeled and cut, and I like adding my walnuts while they're crunchy - they can soften up a bit if they stay in the oats jar overnight or for a few days. But if you don't mind these little things and prefer to add them all in at once while meal prepping, you can certainly do that as well - it's a big time saver! Hope that helps!

Having had surgery on my tongue (yeah, it wasn't fun at all!), I can only eat soft foods. The oatmeal that I eat for breakfast has been perfected and is good, but these recipes look not only nutritious but delicious, too. I like the new variations, and the addition of chia seeds is something I hadn't thought of. Thanks! I'll give it a go this weekend.
