Hi, Paul, I think you should bring to people's attention is the lack of quality. There was a case recently where a T60 rusted because it was parked at a surf club in QLD and the company said that they were not made to do that! Upon a detailed inspection, it was rusting from the welded joints in the body shell as well as the flat surfaces under the paint. In court, the judge actually commented that in his opinion they were made of inferior materials. Personally, I think Chinese cars have a long way to go but unfortunately most motoring journos are not telling the punters this sort of issue. Keep up the great work.
The guy drove the vehicle into the sea water on numerous occasions, fried the electricals (which was part of the claim) and got a lot of 'Surface rust" on the vehicle. My supposition from reading the court documents, A lot of "opinion" and no facts.
Owned T60 Luxe four four years. One of the first ones without surround cameras. Over 150k km on the clock. Not garaged and no rust to be seen. Had issue with BCM at about 70k km. Was never fixed correctly but putting that down to dealer incompetence. Must take it back sometime. Had to change shocks at about 120k km. I am not a car prude and it gets serviced when I feel it needs a service, not when it tells me. Paid about 30k for it new and very happy with it. Yeah I could have gone for a Ranger for twice as much and without as much kit in it. All in all very happy. In fact I won’t be trading it in for the T60 Max because it is still too good. Ive got the older LDV T60. For the most part its absolutely awesome. I got lucky an picked up an auto for 29k during the sale. Have taken it out on the beach and on a few offroad tracks. Handles it like a champ. No rust yet. Only thing lacking is the power, so this new model with the 160kw should be perfect. This thing completely blows the GWM out of the water.
If you want a most robust ute for commercial or professional use , then buy a hilux .But for the people can compromise a little , LDV and GWM can save a lot of money and as comfortable as japanese utes . As the price, you have to accept a little bit deficiencies , but in general , they are definitely value for money.

Hi guys I have driven one for 1yr towing a trailer for a mowing business 8x5 with a rideon etc. I flogged it the entire year apart from 7 trips to the dealership to fix electrical which were cruise control no working the screen seized, throttle stopped working, radio worked when it wanted to, buttons on steering wheel worked when they wanted to. when the burner came on it for the soot it put fumes into the cab they had to put a new seal in the burner and exhaust was not done properly at build. Personally I would never buy one glad i had the chance to drive it before I bought. Also the acceleration off the mark is shocking the lag is soooo bad had a idrive installed did not do anything for the lag intact I would have to say is extremely dangerous you really have to make sure the cars your pulling out infront of are seriously along way down the road. I have 2 other people I know that have bought these for themselves and all have the same issue.
Top car and my favourite so far just done 25 k’s on mine mind you I have had a hilux, amarok,Colorado and ranger in the past and the Colorado sports cat was a close second fav but when you spend 38,500 instead of 60 to 70 plus more I’ve gotta say a car is car and all cars have there fair share of breakdowns regardless of there cost and where there made so the moral of this write is don’t go on the price or where it’s made and rock on 🤙🤟🤘
I have had my 2021 t60 for 6 mnths now and the car is great goes good in off road conditions and plenty of space for the kids. However the audio/connectivity sucks, and the paint job is very average. Paid for paint protection but it does nothing. But I'm happy nothing broken yet and the price was great.
I had to stop 2 minutes in. The headlights. A complicated job to fit a bull bar and improve the approach angle, crikey. I couldn't live with that harsh diff lock. I don't understand why they would release a car with all it's problems that need ironing out.
I love my t60 max and I’ve had Hilux ranger, they given me more trouble then my t60. The t60 hasn’t let me down not once most ppl just talking out of there arse

Great review Thank You, Just been got one as a work car, base model T60 Max so doesn't get the locking rear diff but ill be keen to see how it goes up Stockton Beach soon and thru the Watagans. For all those about to make comments about the beach ! it goes back in 2yr/40 or 3yr/60 depending on availability of my next choice, so i won't need to care about the rust ! Just you watch out at the Auctions. Lol
working at ldv dealership not going to lie but ldv mainly designed for cheap entry level ute. not too bad for the money. not much mechanical issues( compares to other brand in same dealership) major issue with ldv is the shitty infortainment system and poor tech support from ldv. The 2.0 bi turbo engine is really really strong and powerful engine.
What I always wanted was a single cab ute with an auto box . You can get them in lots of countries but not the United Kingdom. I would also like to see an auto on the cheapest 2wd single cab ute as well . I have trouble walking as I had polio as a child and have to use a Volvo V70 estate to carry 8 x 4 and other building materials. A Ute is ideal for me .
The Cannon seems a lot more sorted and resolved. Really the only reason you would look at the T60 is probably the power but there seem to be a multitude of other compromises. I've had a G10 van for 5 years and its served me well with no real issues as all. It really seems LDV missed the mark with this update however given a whole new generation of utes is around the corner. I prefer the non chrome front treatment we are getting compared to the t90 version however that tailgate is terrible. Lack of safety is not great and I just don't know why the Chinese can't get tech right when they make it for everyone else lol.
I used to work for a dealer that had LDV and Mitsubishi (which sold a shitload of Tritons), it was pretty clear that these T60s are supposed to be the thing that "makes people notice," because they're decent enough, but everything else in the range is absolute garbage. Thing is though these aren't really that much cheaper than a Triton and the Triton is a much nicer ute.
Another detailed review. Thank you. So glad to see your subscribers growing so quickly. Well deserved. Just one question, when you review the sound systems, are you able to give a little detail i.e. tinny, not enough speakers, etc. Music/radio is so important when driving and a little more detail helps compare to other cars.
Very toyota looking, yet-no bad comment on toyota reviews, again tow capacity, no mention of GCM, toyota tablet type screen again no comment such as in this when reviewing toyota, It’s very detailed and critical review on all aspects never this critical on the many short comings in Hilux.
G’Day Paul when your reviewing Dual can utes the loading area you call a tray it’s actually called a tub and a tray is what the Toyota Landcruiser 79 series comes with from Toyota. Cheers Seb
Hey Seb. Who cares? I think everyone knows what he is talking about. You could also refer to them as a "bed" since a "tub" should be intergrated into the vehicle like on a Commodore ute.

Still new to markets as a car brand. This is a new model with a lot of RnD. Every respectable brand started like this. Difference is theyre actually trying to improve and change with the times, unlike toyota who is selling 70 year old shit for twice the price. Im not gonna get one but gotta give them credit where its due
I own a 2019 Musso and it's been an absolute trooper. I have done over 80,000km and it's never missed a beat. I test drove a T60, and thought it was terrible.
Im buying the T60pro to tow my 2 tonne boat. As for AEB and lane departures etc I hate all that stuff. My work vehicle BT50 has all that and I have to disable it all every time I start the BT50.
Based on everything in this video, the only thing I like about this vehicle is the look of the front. I just moved to Australia but this brand is no longer on my shopping list. There's a reason why Toyota, Ford, and Nissan cost so much more.
Mentioning the Mitsubishi Triton in the same sentence as the GWM, LDV and the SSangyong Musso is a real slap in the face for Mitsubishi. Or a great marketing strategy, to show case what great value for money the Triton is. Resale and durability.
I think you need to do some research on the Ssangyong. Not in the same category as the Chinese vehicles. Not that I’m saying you’re wrong about the Triton as it’s a great car.

A little, mostly adding different rubber and cosmetic changes like roof rails, sailplanes, sports bars, 19" wheels (improvement?), sexy steering wheel and flares. The new D90 is coming out with a further tuned version of this engine. More power and torque from the 2.0L.
Hi Paul, it is certainly an improvement on the previous model. In your opinion if I am only after a everyday drive and an occasional beach run is the LDV or Musso a better choice? The Musso seems a more refined vehicle with more features but the LDV might be a more capable rig now?
Hey Paul, Thanks for the great reviews. Can you also please review LDV D90 7 seater? Struggling to find good review for D90 petrol or diesel. If you have one then please point the video link in the comments section below 😂 There are mixed opinions by the people but would love to see a review from you as it makes more sense to me when I go through your videos. Thank you.
Can't really attest to its off-road ability, as I haven't taken my Pro much off the formed roads. What I did notice though was it's ability to tow was excellent. I have cruised round a farm in it and it handled that fine.
Is the white Musso in the background coming up soon. Is it possible to test a Musso with the suspension upgrade and better tyres it will be cheaper than most other dual cab Ute's,but with what everyone says it lacks. Just a thought. I like your reviews
Given that any company that is serious about its product would make sure a vehicle was in tip-top shape prior to giving it to a journalist, the panel coming loose in the rear is concerning; the chassis flex in a vehicle intended for off-road work is worrying; the poor quality interior will prove aggravating; all these things combined will make ownership frustrating. I also noted how upright you were sitting in the rear seat, perched on your tailbone and with no underthigh support (this might be an aspect you could add to a road test). This is also the first vehicle I've seen you test with a thick layer of dust in the glovebox (@9:48). Given that higher-quality vehicles like these are suffering from chassis bending just behind the cabin, all the other issues this vehicle exhibited do not bode well for future owners.
Just thought I would check a vid review on the LDV🤦🏽 Today i just test drove a 2022 Isuzu dmax a 2021 Ford ranger wild trek and XLT and LDV luxe 2022. Honestly the LDV totally surprised me all-round. Noticeably more powerful on take off than them all💯 wild trek and LDV were even all round, Isuzu Dmax 2022 and ranger XLT 2021 werent as good. Fully recommend the LDV. This guy does not give the LDV the credit it deserves! Crap review just wasted 25mins of my time ya 🐕 Definitely a get what you pay for guy and review 💯
This is probably the most ridiculous comment I've ever read. Either you own one of these rubbish LDV dealerships, or a paid up subscription to the CCP. You should try and keep your advertising to the usual media.
Nah it's not even close to good enough. If LDV were actually serious then they would be looking at the Ssangyong and GWM and matching them in features and safety for the price they're asking. At this point LDV are way behind and I don't see people buying this new facelift over the GWM.
Its hard to find a ute wothout all the "features" that people want to tell their friends they have. Im looking for a basic manual with as few electronic bits as possible. Dont get me wrong I like building computers, but i dont want to drive one. Bought a jimny as it was the simplest new manual i could find
If it had Adblue it probably wouldn’t need that nasty lag from idle. I have a 2014 Ranger 2.2 that suffers the same lag and it is basically due to the high level of EGR needed to meet emissions, which would produce an excess of soot if excess fuel were injected before turbo boost built up. With Adblue, far less EGR is required and engines burn cleaner and in general that lag can be dialled out in the mapping with no danger of overloading the DPF. I have a new 2.0 twin turbo Ranger on order and it eliminates that lag in combination with a lower first gear ratio. We have Adblue on most diesel engines in the UK since 2017 and emissions are now up to the second stage of stage 6.

I'd love a 4x4 to take my boys away camping etc and being a 1 income household dont want to spend over $40K. So do I buy something will 200,000km+ or look at chinese?
Rust was a first year model, been 5 years of R and D since then. Seems like it was just a bad batch of cars. Otherwise every car would have it.
Hey Paul. Great reviews as always. Was wondering if you could do a review on LDV D90 as it looks like a great offering under $40k. Cheers.
Seeing alot of these on the road now (early 2023).
They look quite good compared to the other Chinese 4x4s
My 2021 t60 pro has been fantastic I can’t fault it paid 30k for it been great only thing I had problems with was my head light were set to high evry one thought I had my high beam on once we lowered them no more people flashing me it pulled a tandem trailer with my hr holden on it like it wasn’t ther I’m happy with it and will do me fine for what I do
Thumbs up for having a HR! :)
rust never sleeps
Great review on this vehicle and I agree its missing some important features that I actually have with my T60 Luxe 2020. Glad I bought my model before the design and features were changed. Cheers Errol
Hope it now has improved rust protection.
Spot on, I watched the John Cadogan video too.
@@stendecstretcher5678 Cheap Chinese communist car turns out to be a cheap Chinese communist car.

That front fascia was probably what the next Hilux facelift would have looked like....who gave out the password to toyota design team's hard drive?
Very nearly got sucked into getting one of these before getting the new hilux in nz. I can't begin to explain how bad the ldv dealerships are in South Auckland nz they actually swore at me on the phone. I think that's part of the reason they are so cheap I wouldn't think there would be any customer support after purchasing one of these. Toyota nz on the other hand I couldn't fault. and with 5 years free services etc. Couldn't be happier with the ute itself either
Thats unfortunate, nothing worse then a rude dealership. The ldv t60 is not a bad ute in itself. Ive got one and love mine. For what its worth its decent. But enjoy your hilux. If I could afforrd one id buy a hilux.
@@ProjectLabz yea I'm not sure about Australia but in nz toyotas prices are all inclusive of gst and on road coasts were as ldv isn't so all up I think the hilux ended up costing about another 5k
@@nathanlaird1193 No way! Id Definetly buy a hilux for an extra 5k then. Here in Aus they are roughly 25k more for a capable specced hilux....
@@ProjectLabz you could’ve afforded one. Buy a second hand one the price of the LDV. It’ll Still be a far better Ute (and I hate Toyota so that’s saying a lot).

Good review of a not so good car. The old addage still rings true - you get what you pay for.
Hope LDV OZ gets the Black Edition as available in NZ. It gets wheel flares, side skirts, roof rails and different design on tailgate. Looks epic!!
Dont waste your time.....
Lipstick on a Pig?
Yup, looks good for the money. And that’s the part most people overlook…for the money. Then again, I drive a x350D which I’m pretty sure is the most hated vehicle with the Holden/Ford/Isuzu brigade
And more rust, painted black!😀
Ive got the older LDV T60. For the most part its absolutely awesome. I got lucky an picked up an auto for 29k during the sale. Have taken it out on the beach and on a few offroad tracks. Handles it like a champ. No rust yet. Only thing lacking is the power, so this new model with the 160kw should be perfect. This thing completely blows the GWM out of the water.
you can get them remapped as theyre a retarded version of the Colorado 2.8 , but hey im in no hurry now days. 2020 pro model.
Great review 👏 but I won't go for LDV I would go for syangsong!
Shoosh! If they find out the price will go up.

Musso any day over this
If you want a most robust ute for commercial or professional use , then buy a hilux .But for the people can compromise a little , LDV and GWM can save a lot of money and as comfortable as japanese utes . As the price, you have to accept a little bit deficiencies , but in general , they are definitely value for money.
Done some LDV review videos myself, definitely should review the D90 mate
Reckon they'll wait for the new one now? The D90 is getting a little long in the tooth. Love your videos btw.
@DiceyRicey thanks! There is a new Maxus D90 launching in China, same powertrain and maybe a 40kw hybrid motor too. Maybe this will be seen in 2025?
@@RadRoadAdventures I reckon Austalia will get the Diesel D90, not too sure about the hybrid though. Now if they brought a full size EV over, that'd be interesting.
One thing I've learned about LDV is that all the negative review's come from people who don't own them or never driven one 😂
💯
I love my t60 max and I’ve had Hilux ranger, they given me more trouble then my t60. The t60 hasn’t let me down not once most ppl just talking out of there arse
I have 3 ldv vans and i went to go and do a deal on a ute for myself. After test driving trition and cannon i drove top spec ldv and it was the biggest heap of garbage ive driven compared to its competitors
100% . I wouldn't listen to this guy one bit. I watched his comparison video with other big brands: Very biased.
Just drove one yesterday. Unbelievable vehicle. Getting mine in 1 month. I’m sure there’ll be some issues like most cars, but it seem a great car from reviews I’ve seen
Lol
Hi Paul I would love it if you could review the Mahindra pickup
working at ldv dealership not going to lie but ldv mainly designed for cheap entry level ute. not too bad for the money. not much mechanical issues( compares to other brand in same dealership) major issue with ldv is the shitty infortainment system and poor tech support from ldv. The 2.0 bi turbo engine is really really strong and powerful engine.
The LDV engines and drivetrains seem OK... it's just the rest of the vehicle that's crap.
@@TheKnobCalledTone. you can't have everything perfect for $35000 Ute
Really good review. Liked how you picked up on the body twist with the driver's door not fully closing.
I think give it 5yrs and Chinese cars will be pretty good and competitive.
Great video mate, been waiting for this to drop compared to the Cannon.. think I will go cannon..
Only thing I see that is better on the LDV is power. On all the other things Cannon is waaay better, the quality, safety offering.
@@italoluras ya I agree, your getting much more value and better warranty on the Cannon.
Old model definitly looked better, new one looks like a triton in my opinion. good to see them them taking the right steps foward tho
the old model was disgusting, like make you spew in the street disgusting.
the new model is way nicer
I used to work for a dealer that had LDV and Mitsubishi (which sold a shitload of Tritons), it was pretty clear that these T60s are supposed to be the thing that "makes people notice," because they're decent enough, but everything else in the range is absolute garbage.
Thing is though these aren't really that much cheaper than a Triton and the Triton is a much nicer ute.
4x4 Triton with same specs is minimum $10k more.
great review, thanks, it really really helps!
That's going to be a pain fitting a bull bar with the headlight cluster integrated on the bumper!
The 56 unread txt messages on the apple car play had me laughing 😂

Very toyota looking, yet-no bad comment on toyota reviews, again tow capacity, no mention of GCM, toyota tablet type screen again no comment such as in this when reviewing toyota,
It’s very detailed and critical review on all aspects never this critical on the many short comings in Hilux.
G’Day Paul when your reviewing Dual can utes the loading area you call a tray it’s actually called a tub and a tray is what the Toyota Landcruiser 79 series comes with from Toyota.

Hey Seb.
Who cares? I think everyone knows what he is talking about. You could also refer to them as a "bed" since a "tub" should be intergrated into the vehicle like on a Commodore ute.
Done 30k in my older model one, luckily it's a work one! I'd not recommend one to anyone, absolute piece of 💩 Nothing electrical works and a sowing machine has more grunt.

That engine makes so much more power from the previous version and 100nm ahead of GWM Cannon X
So would you buy this or a Ssangyong musso? For me the Musso still far better option than this.
I own a 2019 Musso and it's been an absolute trooper. I have done over 80,000km and it's never missed a beat. I test drove a T60, and thought it was terrible.
Hi Paul, can you guys test out the ldv d90 diesel?
Yes. I agree. I'm surprised they don't have one already.
Not all Chinese cars are bad. Haval is a good example of a good Chinese car.
"good Chinese car" is an oxymoron.
I agree and the GWM Cannon is another good example.
Im buying the T60pro to tow my 2 tonne boat. As for AEB and lane departures etc I hate all that stuff. My work vehicle BT50 has all that and I have to disable it all every time I start the BT50.
Everyone I've talked too who own a ldv say that the body's are rubbish and start to rust not long after they get them
Load of shit had mine for over 2 years I live 3 mins from the beach done river crossings with it never let me down
"Everyone I've talked too who owns an LDV".. lol how many people do you know ? I can find you 10 pages of Hilux/Amarok rust if you want
Based on everything in this video, the only thing I like about this vehicle is the look of the front. I just moved to Australia but this brand is no longer on my shopping list. There's a reason why Toyota, Ford, and Nissan cost so much more.
inflation
Bogan brand hive mind makes them cost more.

So have they improved on that model with the latest model?
A little, mostly adding different rubber and cosmetic changes like roof rails, sailplanes, sports bars, 19" wheels (improvement?), sexy steering wheel and flares. The new D90 is coming out with a further tuned version of this engine. More power and torque from the 2.0L.
Can you do a detailed of the LDV D90 thanks Paul

Hi Paul, it is certainly an improvement on the previous model. In your opinion if I am only after a everyday drive and an occasional beach run is the LDV or Musso a better choice? The Musso seems a more refined vehicle with more features but the LDV might be a more capable rig now?
Don’t do it. These are rubbish. Seriously go test the GWM canon X. Worlds apart. Ride comfort and technology

Can't really attest to its off-road ability, as I haven't taken my Pro much off the formed roads. What I did notice though was it's ability to tow was excellent. I have cruised round a farm in it and it handled that fine.
Didn’t they loose in court, re vehicle quality? Court found it was made from substandard materials 🧐. Why take the chance?
7 year warranty + that was the first series of the old model. I can find you a shit load of early model Ute problems with Ford/Nissan..
Exactly and also it depends the way how you maintain it also!!
Could u please do a review of the LDV D90

Just thought I would check a vid review on the LDV🤦🏽 Today i just test drove a 2022 Isuzu dmax a 2021 Ford ranger wild trek and XLT and LDV luxe 2022. Honestly the LDV totally surprised me all-round. Noticeably more powerful on take off than them all💯 wild trek and LDV were even all round, Isuzu Dmax 2022 and ranger XLT 2021 werent as good. Fully recommend the LDV. This guy does not give the LDV the credit it deserves! Crap review just wasted 25mins of my time ya 🐕

This is probably the most ridiculous comment I've ever read. Either you own one of these rubbish LDV dealerships, or a paid up subscription to the CCP. You should try and keep your advertising to the usual media.
It’s just getting better and better. If the price still great, will catch up other makes very soon. Look at how many people got one on the road.
I’m sure you are totally impartial too, and aren’t just making a comment because you are a paid shill, aren’t you ‘Marty Sun’.
Nah it's not even close to good enough. If LDV were actually serious then they would be looking at the Ssangyong and GWM and matching them in features and safety for the price they're asking. At this point LDV are way behind and I don't see people buying this new facelift over the GWM.
Hey Paul, Is it worth going for. What is your final say.
Wouldn't worry to much about that plastic panel on the back with the speed these rust at the tailgate will drop off in 18 months.
I wonder how they will go designing bull bars for this with the low headlights.
160kw is very very impressive
But 10 seconds 0-100 what’s the point
An iDrive would solve the turbo lag/ throttle response.
So if you spin the tyres the car will automatically activate the diff locker?
