Jeep would fall apart if pushed as hard as the G wagon off-road. It's matching G in this video because G is on low profile road tires and the Jeep has proper off road tires. Put the same off road tires onto the G, and it will do things the Jeep can't. People don't REALLY understand how tough G-wagons are. Go watch Shmee150's video from Austria to see them driven on off-road courses that would completely destroy the Jeep, and the G wagon doesn't break a sweat. BeyerT1 only thing I’m worried about with the g wagon is the engine and the amount of technology in it. Too luxury to go off road. I would prefer a older diesel model over the new one.
I’ve had expensive vehicles and cheap ones and the most fun ones have been the cheapest. Not having to think about how expensive a repair might be adds to the enjoyment.
Different cars can be fun in different ways. I've had a strange medley of cars from Suzuki Mighty Boy to Merc SLK350 and yes, there was a Jimny somewhere in the mix. (Hated the name, though. What was wrong with calling it Sierra?!) Brands, too, from Audi to Toyota. They all had some enjoyable aspects and I agree that fun doesn't necessarily scale with price.
This is why most actual off roaders drive older 4wds. The number of times I've seen an old Jeep TJ with road tyres drive past a stuck V8 is still amusing.

In the last test, with the Jeep, either put in 4H and just charge that hill, and let momentum do the work like he did with the there 2. Or put leave it in 4L, lockers on, and crawl it. He did neither.
Dont forgot this, cus this is the biggest joke of all. "The jeep is the only one with atleast somewhat of propper offroad tires" and loses the hill climp.
He put it in 4L and manual mode, he didn't give the transmission a chance to upshift, hitting the rev limiter and limiting wheel speed. Just put the sucker in 4H and gun it or 4L and crawl it.
He did everything wrong in the Jeep. 4 wheel low and lockers are for crawling. Liked others said, 4 high and gun it and the Jeep would have performed just like the g wagon.
Jimny for the win. Price vs performance it can't be beat. It's cheap to maintain, run and there's a million aftermarket parts if you want to build it into something wild. I've crossed the Simpson Desert twice, Cape York, driven most coastal tracks, and some of the most rugged mountain country in Victoria and NSW. I did all this in a completely stock Jimny with the cheapest street tires I could find. 150,000km later and it's still running like new. Absolutely the best 4x4 I've owned.
😂😂😂whoa man the kiss winning jimny.... And the epic dialogue @14:27 "come on G WAGON don't be humiliated by the GIMNY you can do it"...... Awesome show.
Definitely, also the tire pressure was too hard , those tires on the jeep if you blow them down to 0.5 psi you wont even need speed , it will crawl up there
A thing that makes the Jimny totally better is the fact that she does so well on an actual off-road no trail no nothing it's tiny and makes real great moves
Ujw Gaming well, this was a discussion of off-road ability, but if safety and tech is what you want, absolutely! Enough for structural reinforcements every which way, armour plating, line it with ballistic nylon, then swap in an LS and boost it to power the thing. You want tech? No worries, there's STILL enough left over to pack the thing with MacBooks, sat phones, night vision, FLIR cams, and a lifetime of mobile data! I really enjoy carwow. Use them for a lot of reviews. And I should say, I'm really impressed with the Jimmy. What its capable of doing, for so little money, is impressive. Having said those things, however, I should also state that I've owned 3x Jeep Rubicons over the years ('03, '08, and '06). Even the garbage '08 I owned (it's engine was a dog) could have beat that hill. I ran a lot of hills similar, actually, in East Tennessee (steep hill, loose rock)--and that '08 did beat those hills. Also, giving 3 points to each winner--just so you can have a 3-way tie? Come on guys. Overall winners, based on price and capability (IMHO): 1. Jimmy, 2. Jeep, and 3. G-Wagon.

Yes, zero points if you don't complete a challenge he explicitly stated that you deaf bat. Also at the top with the jeep, he was mashing the gas and was accelerating a good degree when he was in the middle of the slope. At 14:36 he was going a similar speed as the wrangler at 13:06. They both mashed the gas towards the middle of the incline.

Jimny: cheapest, easy to maintain.
Jeep: Overall better offroader considering you wont be scared of pushing it unlike the G. most modifiable
G: Luxury, raw power, but too expensive for it to be really practical
Jeep would fall apart if pushed as hard as the G wagon off-road. It's matching G in this video because G is on low profile road tires and the Jeep has proper off road tires. Put the same off road tires onto the G, and it will do things the Jeep can't. People don't REALLY understand how tough G-wagons are. Go watch Shmee150's video from Austria to see them driven on off-road courses that would completely destroy the Jeep, and the G wagon doesn't break a sweat. They ARE the toughest road legal vehicles in the world, without competition. The fact that they're also luxurious and fast is a bonus.
@@derbigpr500 I am from UAE and jeep owners here modify the jeep (still costs about half the price of a G) to make it an absolute dune climbing beast. Personally I am more of a truck guy, I own a GMC sierra 1 door cabinet.

G wagon isn’t really a off-roader anymore. More of a luxury grocery getter. Would be better if it was a simpler older diesel model.
If you could afford such cars then you would not care about the repair cost at all
Different cars can be fun in different ways.
