Came back to this video to say 'Thank you for your advice'. This was one of the reviews that prompted me to buy the monitor in January 2020, shortly before the pandemic put the UK into lockdown. It has been my daily driver for many many hours per day since then. Appreciate the depth and clarity of your review.

I"m currently using a "AOC Q2963PM 29-inch IPS 21:9 60HZ 2560x1080 " Ultrawide Monitor, I only paid $400USD for it on amazon I really love this monitor & the wide aspect ratio you get from having a ultrawide monitor, if have a ultrawide monitor I highly suggest playing "Shadow of the tomb raider"- the game supports 21:9 ultrawide monitors in both the cutscenes & gameplay it is an amazing PC Port imo!

    Homework for the Yes Man:
Test, Overclock and increase Freesync range monitors so LFC is activated.
Many LG ultrawides normaly allow 30-75Hz so the 2.5x ratio permits Low Frame Compensation.
Believe me, this is important not just for me. (Imagine the hustle upsale potential *hint hint*)

Bought one for myself a couple of weeks back, thankfully at a discount price of 598 Euros. Couldn't be happier, what an extremely fortunate decision. Coming from a 40" TV with massive input lag and ghosting, and it not being a ultrawide display, the downgrade to this in screen royalty was actually very welcomed due to the overall qualities of the BenQ. I would 100% recommend this if you're looking for a cheaper option to all those near 1k ultrawide displays from bigger brands!

Went from a 2560x1440 to a 3440x1440. Got a X34P brand new for £630, so that's about 790 USD or 1,100 AUD. Saw the special and jumped. Took a few weeks to get to me, but it was worth the tension of whether it was new and what condition it would arrive in haha. It's outdated a bit. No HDR support or USB C which aren't total let downs but would have been great to have, mostly the USB C. Not done any editing of any kind yet on this but I am looking forward to it!

Currently on the LG 25" ultrawide @75hz. After having used ultrawide, I don't think i'll be going back to 16:9. I plan my next monitor to actually be this: 34" (or35"), 3440x1440, VA, Freesync and 120hz (or 100hz).
Just waiting for amd to get their shit together on the gpu side so i can something decent that can do that kind of resolution at those refresh refresh rates. My 470 does very well for my current ultrawide with the games I play, but I know for sure that once I increase the resolution, it's going to cap out. So i'll just wait it out a bit.

Have it now for almost a year and still happy!
Factory setting is a bit washed out, the contrast is to low. Had to improve it over the nvidia control panel.
it also does "frame skipping" if you set it to 100 Hz -> had to put it to 99Hz.
The simulated HDR picture setting is best for me...really improves normal SDR content.

I have the Benq EX3200R 144hz monitor,, and is is hands down the best monitor i have ever owned,, even beating out the asus monitor i had ,, zero bluring and my tested input lag was 5 ms.. maybe because its only a 32inch panel so being smaller and also its a 1080P monitor ,, both of those things maybe the reason for a slightly quicker input lag time.. im no expert.. but none the less it is excellent and build quality is excellent..

Well if you get a 240hz monitor be prepared to buy 2 2080ti because there is no video card made that will play for example BFV @ a sustained 240fps ,, which is only the first problem,, the second problem is BFV is frame capped @ 200 fps,, you see my point here ? 240hz monitor for gaming is simply a waste because it cannot be used... as to why 99% of pro gamers use a 144hz monitor..

Buying a monitor nowdays is such a gamble.. I bought 3 700€+ monitors and each and every one of them had dead/stuck pixels.. One was Alienware (au optronics panel) and 2 were LG (lg panel).. This monitor seems nice but is also au optronics.. I returned all 3 monitors and didn't bother buying them anymore since I spent 50€ on shipping them back (for the alienware one i was refunded only 80% because of some fucking scratch).. and who know how many days waiting for the shipment, unpacking it and packing it back.. the quality controls when it comes to display is terrible.. I just can't believe that spending $900 on a monitor isn't enough to be guaranteed you won't get a dead pixel..

D-pad OSD _or_ software control or gtfo, I say. I remember the pain of using all those buttons and pressing the wrong button quits the menu. My LG 29" ultrawide monitor has a d-pad and I'm likely never looking back. As for support, the only game recently I have ran into that doesn't support ultrawide would be Crash Bandicoot. I don't use it on there because the workaround makes it stretched and squatty and no thanks to that. Ultrawide+IPS is the way to go

I've looked into the AOC AG352UCG6 and the HP Omen X in this range which both use the same VA panel (with the HPs being a slightly older version) Due to the need for G Sync as opposed to freesync. Have you done any comparison of those two or any others that would fit into that category because I'm having real trouble deciding. (And to answer previous questions they will all oc to 120htz whether advertised or not because they are all the same panel by the same manufacturer) *edit* I think the only real difference is design, calibration (and its software), and the amount of cherry picking each company will or wont do when selecting their panels. Reviews of the AOC suggest that AOC does a good job of weeding out light bleed in their selections - as appears to be the case with BenQ. Personally I wish I'd never even realised what light bleed is because once you know it's there it's going to annoy you for ETERNITY

  • @conza1989
    @conza1989 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Good video, this happens every time I want to watch a monitor video, if it's G-sync then it's great but expensive, if it's freesync then I'm not interested because I have an NVIDIA gpu that can't utilise it's features. I just wish NVIDIA could be toppled for just long enough, that G-sync would end, and freesync would be 'the' technology in basically all monitors, so we can have competitive priced good refresh monitors that everyone would buy.

Random Interjection: I really wish Samsung would bite the G sync bullet and open this field further beyond Alienware and Asus overpricing. I didn't blow my wad (pun intended) on an RTX 2080ti to have it scuppered by inferior sync. My Samsung NU7400 TV has ZERO light bleed and the black is so black that the only way I have of telling whether I've left the TV on even in a dark room is when the time flashes up on the screen. Aside from the extra refresh, sync, and response required for gaming THIS is what I want in a monitor. Come ON Samsung it's not like you can't afford it.

What kind of video card would you recommend for this if running a Windows 10 PC? I don't game and would only do light editing in lightroom. Looking for something cheap that doesnt use a lot of power but could still power two monitors if needed. thanks!

What graphic card notebook would you suggest to run a BenQ EX3501R monitor?

Does this monitor properly support 2560x1080 resolution for dropping your 21:9 res for demanding games? Not all 3440x1440 ultrawides can do this and its a real shame and a critical flaw. 3440x1440 games on average require a RTX 2060, GTX 1080 or a Vega 56 minimum. Otherwise your dropping all your quality settings and defeating the purpose of playing at such a resolution. The MSI Mag341CQ is one monitor that is fantastic, but cannot do 2560x1080 properly.

I have 3 LG IPS 32 inch panels that cost me less ($500) than this one monitor. That's why I won't buy these ultrawide monitors. I wanted one but the price is stupid.
Granted this has Freesync and a higher resolution but still.
