    I think the 7&8pro is one of the best phones to date. They feel 100% complete, they're very responsive, have all the great features and their cameras are top of the line. I cannot express how good the pictures and videos are and i'm not even a photographer. Just incredible.

    On the topic of Airdrop-- this isn't usually a problem since you would just grab the picture or video from Google Photos, but it's worth noting that Google has a Windows app for Nearby Share, the equivalent Android feature. Hopefully they'll port that over to Mac soon.

    • @MattRobb

    Having had my Pixel Buds Pros for some months now, I can say with absolute certainty that they're - okay. As seems to be Google's MO, they have their weaknesses and bugs.
    When setting up for the first time, it runs a little test to configure noise cancelation. I'm not sure how or if the test can be run again, but the noise cancelling is, as is reported by numerous users, less than adequate. My Jabra 75s were much better in that department. I've had bugs where I'll listen with one earbud (pretty much always the right)
    for a bit before taking out the other. Occasionally it doesn't connect, so I put it back in the case and remove it again. Something even more common is one bud being in transparent mode and the other being in noise canceling or normal mode. Sometimes switching modes by holding down on the bud solves this. Other times I have to open the app and manually select a mode.
    Overall they're fine. I'll echo the same advice I read before buying them: don't pay full price. For $120 on sale I'm okay with them. My Jabra 75ts were a mess at first with bugs slowly getting worked out, but it seems like Jabra hasn't made any as good since. Sound and noise canceling were better, though the sound isn't that much different (by memory and the music I listen to; bit of a bass head, but I need highs as well).

    • @MattRobb
      @MattRobb  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The bass is good but I don’t find them that comfortable and when I wear them in bed they have a high pitch noise when I turn my head for some reason. I also get false touch triggers causing the volume to increase and the song to play pause randomly. Overall good quality, but I can’t use the features because of bugs in the software you are completely right

      Sorry, but I am one of the many neutrals out here who just cannot let your comment that the Pixel 8 Pro takes better videos than the IPhone slide. View both on a large screen and the pixel gets destroyed in detail capture. The Pixel's low light video has too much noise and it portrays people with too much contrast and gives them a strange AI look. Most of us neutrals put the Pixel 8 Pro behind both the S23 Ultra and IPhone 15 Pro Max in video quality. Google's video IS improving though to be fair. The photographic quality of the Pixel 8 Pro is WORLD LEADING when comparing auto modes on flagship devices though. Respect to Google.

    3:56 android phones usually have more ram not because it's not optimized, not sure where fanboys got this info, it's usually because most older android apps are made with java, and it needs to virtualize to run apps with jvm, which is why android phones usually have more ram, where ios apps are all made with swift. it has nothing to do with optimization, it's 2024 no one optimizes anything.

    • @MattRobb
      @MattRobb  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I was just talking from experience. When I have large apps on my pixel it normal only holds a few apps and has to restart the app when switching between them. In the iPhone I can scroll back like 20 apps and click an app I was using yesterday and it doesn’t restart it resumes where I left it.

    • @rano12321
      @rano12321 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MattRobb it has nothing to do with ram, it's just how android on pixel works, it doesn't happen on my S24U, closing app saves battery.

    • @MattRobb
      @MattRobb  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @rano12321 It actually uses more power to move an application back into RAM every time you launch it than to just keep it open.
      Here’s why:
      App Relaunching: When you relaunch an app, the phone needs to load the app from storage into RAM, which requires more processing power and thus more energy. This involves reading data from storage, initializing app resources, and restoring the app’s state.
      Background Processes: When you keep an app open in RAM, the system can quickly switch back to it without going through the full startup process. Modern operating systems are designed to efficiently manage RAM, keeping frequently used apps in memory and putting them in a suspended state where they consume minimal resources.
      Energy Consumption: Keeping an app in RAM consumes some power, but it is generally less than the power needed for a full app launch. The operating system may also offload less critical processes if additional RAM is needed, without significantly impacting overall power consumption.

    The honest truth is that apple makes the best overal experience. Wether it be their hardware or just ecosystem as a whole. The way everything just simply works is something we definitely take for granted. BUT, the pixel is so much more fun and i enjoy using them much more than my iphones. I also prefer their processing with the camera. I cant stand the over warming of apple when they process photos, everything ends up with a yellow tint and i cant unsee it. I've been an apple user (as my daily driver) since the iPhone 4. This is such a myth that "it just works" this is so far from the truth. Apple products don't just work, they glitch a lot, but it gets overlooked because it's apple. I really don't see much of a difference between the high end flag ships and apple in the last couple of years. I recently returned my iPhone 15 pro when it came out and switched to pixel 8 pro as my daily driver for the first time ever (I've tested pixels, Samsungs forever now) I am really over people saying "apple products just work"

      @@Messina4NY They do glitch...very seriously! I use an iPhone for work. Currently, I have a 14 pro. So far, it's decent. I had a 12 pro before this and I've been using various models since the iPhone 4 for work. It's just what the companies I've worked for use. Whatever...I ain't paying for it. But with the iPhone 12, I had an awful time with it, just as I did with the 8. The screens would freeze or go black altogether and not wake back up during calls. It was the most frustrating experience I've ever had with a phone, aside from the nonsensical inability to easily customize user experience the way I wanted without having to jump through hoops. But the issues with it not waking up or freezing during calls?....Man, I almost threw the f***in things through a wall.
      I have a Samsung S21 (base model) for my normal everyday use, and I love it. It takes great photos, does what I want it to do with just about every file type imaginable, and it has gone through hell, being submerged in a river for an hour (it fell out of my pocket and I had to backtrack up the river to find it), being dropped from various heights, etc... The thing is rock solid and it has never let me down.
      I just got my daughter a Pixel 8 (base), and I will be very interested to see what she thinks of it when I give it to her. She had an S21 Ultra, which she hasn't taken very good care of. I think she'll be pleased with the Pixel 8, from what I've seen, even if it is just a base model.
