Cheap and expensive are relative to value. This video is comparing the value of X to half of its original value, thus illustrating the relativity between expensive and cheap. Perhaps if you already knew this basic understanding, you would be more successful and less stingy seeing gadget priced at £440 as cheap.
I was willing to pull out another $400 more for the S series but then Samsung had to go out of their way to try to get even more money from us by removing the SD card slot and expect us to pay more for online storage. So, I went with the A55 and save about $400. Thanks Samsung. Excellent business decision.
well they are jealous with Apple for not having a memory card that's why Samsung removed the sd expansion in their flagship phones which a really hige deal breaker for me.
@nikhilpaleti3872 lol, you will only experience that lag that you are talking about if you put all your app in your SD card, but in case you didn't know all system apps and apps you insalled all goes to your phone storage by default and some of them can't be moved like the old android in the past, so that slowing thing that you are talking about won't happen because andoid OS and apps don't go to your external storage but in your internal storage, the main purpose of SD card these days is for expansion of your phone storage where you put images, music, videos and other files and that's why it won't affect your phone performance even if you had a micro sd there, its like putting a SSD or nvme in your computer where you put the OS to make your computer run smoothly while you put all your files in HDD for large storage and longevity of the drive. srsly where did you even get that idea that it will slow your phone if you put a expandable storage in a phone?😂 did you get it from Apple? samsung removed micro SD in the flagship phones because Samsung also wants to sell their cloud storage like what Apple been doing, remember tech companies only remove things like micro sd storage, charging brick and earphones(out of the box) from phones that being released these days because they want to increase their profits not because it will slow your phone or to help the environment.
Depends from where you're from, really. If the citizens from a certain country are wealthy and the cheapest phones u can get are within the $400, then that phone is cheap for them.
@@Alicia_tan99 usually I stick with a phone for at least 3 years so with my past experience Samsung's performance doesn't drop much. Besides it's easier in case I need after services.
Got the A55 in 'ice blue', it's such a beautiful and premium feeling phone with some decent cameras, aluminum frame, latest Exynos1480 4nm chip, 5000mAh battery etc. Got it in Samsung app store for 450,- minus 50,- discount and with Buds FE (75 euro) so for just 325 euro🎉 The A55 does 90% of what an S24 does for 1/3 of the price 👍
That's true, but by regarding the long-term use of the phone, s24 is definitely a better option with 7 years update and more powerful cheapset. Also the premium design(esp thin bezzels) make you not feel that my phone is old after several years, like that I feel the S20 series are still premium and modern.
@Negativvv I'm still using my A71!,& the battery after three years is still decent for my usage, yes it's under half the time of seven years but my battery is smaller,so depending on how you use it the battery could likely see you through without change
@@Negativvv almost definitely not, but that's the point. Instead of coughing up 1000$ more, you get the battery replaced for 100$ max and keep it going. Additionally, you get to save yourself the trouble of moving all your data onto another phone
This is interesting because I just bought my husband the S21+ (referbished-like-new) after getting a new A54 5G a few months ago. I spent about $150 on both, after sales, fees, etc. etc. I think they are a much fairer comparison, both in price, and in stats. (Not to mention the huge difference in size between your phones. My phones are within 3", barely noticeable side-by-side. The S21+ is a bit taller and very slim.) Hope this helps budget-minded people who have different use-cases. The main differences in the A54 and the S21+ are: -The A54 is newer, but the S21+ gets 2 or 3 more years of OS updates. It's a toss up. -The camera on the S21+ has much better low-light handeling. Otherwise not a huge difference. -The S21+ has a snappier, but older CPU, and a boosted GPU, allowing room for gaming if you need it. But no noticable difference otherwise. (I never have to reboot the A54, or experience slowness. I run a lot more apps than he does too.) -The A54 has better battery life. I get 1 - 1.5 days more than my husband from a charge. -The S21+ has wireless charging, and also Superfast charging. He can go from 0-50% in 20 mintues on my 5A charger laptop charger, over USB-C PD 3.0. But he never uses Super-fast mode because it ages the battery. -The A54 has an external SD card slot. (They're both the same size internal disks, 128GB.) This is important to me. -The S21+ has 2 more GB of RAM (8GB vs 6GB). Again, only needed for gaming and crazy-amounts of multitasking. -The S21+ has a 120hz screen -- Nice to have but not necessary. My screen looks great. -Admittedly, the S21+ has MUCH better external speakers. Oh well. I'll get headphones. -The S21+ has moderate water resistance. (This is what made me decide to get it for him. He's a welder, and very hard on phones.) -My husband is impressed with the S21+ instantanious facial recognition, due to low-light sensors, and a better GPU/CPU. -The A54 gets a much better 5G signal inside our house (T-mobile). However, he just texted me from an airplane at 30,000 feet (Verizon.) (So fast 5G vs. extremely long-range 4G/5G signal.)
When it comes to value for money, people should think carefully about what is important to them and what they actually use on a daily basis. Because for most people it won't matter in everyday life whether USB 3.x including Dex or USB 2.0. I have both an S20 model and the A54. And I actually hardly ever use Dex. And it is completely irrelevant whether an app opens a little faster or not, because once the applications are open, there are no major differences. We're talking about fractions of a second here. In addition, longer videos in 4K60 or 8K are real memory hogs. 256GB fills up very quickly - and having a memory card is not only safer, it also saves time because you don't have to constantly swap out the files. The A55 is completely sufficient for most games, not everyone plays Genshin Impact for hours. And the workmanship is visibly almost indistinguishable. In this respect, I now consider the S models to be overpriced, because the A55's competitor is the S24+. And that costs almost 3x as much - for around 15% more use in everyday life. For anyone who wants to surf, stream, take snapshots and occasionally play games, the A55 is the much better choice - and the money you save can be sensibly invested elsewhere.
I've seen a55 struggle with codm and doesn't even offer 90fps It's really not for gamers. Don't make a mistake Rather buy an older flagship. This a55 sits at a price where you can get older flagships that are better in every way. Honestly, that's my problem with this device, at it's price there are better alternatives and it just doesn't make sense
If you're a content creator and you need the better camera i think you'd rather have the s24 and if you have money to spend i think you'd also be better off with the s24.
@@Kattoe I don't share this opinion. Especially as a content creator, the difference between the two models is almost irrelevant. The cameras on both models and the processor performance on both models are sufficient for this. The S24 has greater advantages over the A55 in demanding games, in data transfer and in graphics-intensive calculations in pre-production at 4K & 8K - but this plays more of a role for home users, as most platforms reduce the resolution anyway. At the maximum available memory onbord the smartphone, the A55 is ahead with up to 1TB on the memory card. And thanks to identical software, there are no differences in video or image processing - with the exception of the conversion time. But you only notice this when you create films of several minutes or even longer.
I went from A54 to S24 (base) recently and the difference between mid-range to flagship is huge with both performance and features. But it all comes down to what type of use you want to get out of your device.
Yeah, as someone who went from an A53 ( I was ready to chuck this phone because it stuttered all the time) and upgraded to the S24 NA version with Snapdragon 3 and WOW.... what a difference! I feel like if you're the type of person who takes your phone with you everywhere, get a good phone and with these you got 7 years of OS updates.
@regardzz In my experience the biggest difference is much quicker speed and no stutters/crashes or lags. SD 8 Gen 3 chip is about the best on the market night now and IMO its worth the extra money for the phone. You'll also notice although A54 has the bigger battery (5000 mah) the S24 will still last just as long if not longer due to having the better optimized and far superior chipset plus the LTPO display can adaptively drop refresh rate down to 1hz compared to 60 on the A54. If you have the money I'd definitely go for it. Nothing at all wrong with the A54, S24 is just better in every way.
@@iskiiwizz536 what's fake about it troll? You have proof that I don't have a S22 that I paid off and got the S24+ on a promotion? Sounds like you should get out of your parent's basement and get a job.
It's perplexing that we live in a world where basic stuff like a headphone jack, expandable storage and even an included charger are almost impossible to find. More reasons to hate Apple, I guess. ffs
Why hate on apple for a decision Samsung mocked and then replicated? Blame them for being so hypocritical 😂😂 They don't even include chargers on tablets anymore either
@@joshuepico75 Oh, no, I hate them both. Apple pioneered and normalised some of the most anti-consumer practises while Samsung acted like they were better then shortly did exactly what Apple did. An official Samsung charger is sold separately at $20. Fuck em both.
@@joshuepico75 Oh nah bra, I hate them both. Apple pioneered and normalised extremely anti-consumer practices while Samsung pretended to be against them. Then shortly after, Samsung copied what Apple did. As consumers we need to stop fanboying and we need to stop supporting such corporate greed.
Wonderful to see how many people compare it for fun and not think of using a phone out there in faraway locations, where it has to be used by geologists, engineers, doctors, pilots, mining engineers, overlanders - all applications where the limited storage on the S24 Ultra is a deal breaker. Great for kids and GenZ, for those that never do a day's work. Be more practical, think about real-world usage.
To all the people wondering about how much CPU speed actuall matters: A normal person can baerly make use of all the extra performance that a high end chip can offer. The baseline of a mostly smooth user experience was drawn with Qualcoms Snapdragon 801 back in 2014. This one was fast a.f. back on android KitKat. In 2018 I got a phone with a Snapdragon 660. This midrange chip has the exact same feel as the 801. Extrapolating a bit into the future, a Snapdragon 7 gen 1 will already give you the best noticable userexperience. All those computationally demanding processes occur only 0.1% of the time. What matters to 99,9% is the general smoothness of the user experience . And objectively you get all of that with a midrange chip. I have been using the SD660 for over 6 years now and bow it is starting to feel slow, but I must confess that my life would not be radically different if I tradet this slightly slower phone for a faster one. Smartphones peaked somewhere around 2019.
They didn't. Rotation response taking a little lag is annoying. A normal user can be annoyed when loading times are longer etc. Speed matters and always will.
@@boom5732 the current S24 has 10MP 3x zoom.. but the output is 12MP.. if the camera is producing 12MP images out of 10MP sensor, then something doesn't add up.. and it does show with lower sharpness from the telephoto lens
its a shame the midrangers never get usb 3. always at usb 2.0. even a 7 year old samsung s8 has usb 3.1 and will outperform the 2024 model a55 when it comes to transferring files. I use my phone as a tool (a mini computer) and this feature usb 3 is a huge difference. all the geekbench/antutu score wont mean anything when usb 3.1 is more than 20X the speed of usb 2.0
I don't think I've ever used my cable to transfer documents from my phone, it's always been over my wireless network. And it's blazingly fast. Tbf, I haven't tested usb 3.0. But it's (on paper) 5x faster than my network. Sooooo~
Yeah, anyone saying flagships are not worth it is because they are in denial of how good they are 😂, there's no such thing as a "flagship killer". The difference is pleasant and amazing!
@@sachiyamobilegaming2355 That’s nice to hear! I thought that the software experience will be a bit difference but I guess it depends on the performance. Maybe someday I’ll try the Galaxy S Series 😁
Not 100% sure, but I thought the Dex feature is also only available for the S series phones. It allows you to connect your phone to a screen with keyboard and mouse and use your phone as a computer. Some people might find that a handy feature.
It's absolutely atrocious how much the Ultra throttled.. The loop score is almost half of the Exynos 2400.. Also, the AI summery got almost all of the info wrong. That's why I don't believe in AI. Spreads misinformation like crazy, it's useless. Anyways, thank you for the video!
Thats mighty 8gen3 for you snapdragon went in all performance does putting cores to max but media and samsung took diff route media put put 4 x4 cores and 4 a720 with lower cache and speed result even with lower cache and speed a720 craps over a520 thus better than snapdragon samsung took 10 core route added two low power cores but allowing it to reduce clock speed of x4 by 200mhz compared to 8gen3 allowing almost same performance but better heat mangement
I considered both, but ultimately went for the S24+. The main reason was security; mostly ultrasonic fingerprint and monthly security-updates for many years ahead. For me the increased pricetag was a non-issue.
I have the expensive model (the previous model, S23) and it has several annoying issues. When I'm using Facebook, and I click on notifications, it's always skipping back to the previous screen. But more importantly, on Google Calendar, when I'm creating an event, it's constantly making the cursor jump to the bottom of the screen, making it incredibly difficult to write in details, and it regularly will not look up the phonebook to find the email address of the person I want to invite the event. These two calendar issues are a massive issue for me, because this is how I organise all jobs for my contractors and for years with every other phone, I never had either of these issues. It's a total nightmare of a phone for me, considering I got this phone as a work phone and I should be able to work from it when I'm away from my computer, but it is really difficult to so so. I would not recommend this phone, at all.
The resolution is the same so it could also be a good choice for people who wants to save money to buy the A55. Hope samsung could work on those thick bezels on the A55.
Best thing to do is get last years ultra phone as its still really premium and fast. S23 ultra ive seen in the £680 range on amazon brand new just after s24 ultra came out. But now i think they running out of s23 ultra. Also s23 is worth looking out for. Actually samsung be doing discounts on everything even s24 lineup.
Data transfer is faster and easier if you use QuickShare for A55 since its port is limited to USB 2.0 Even if you want to transfer via WiFi (QuickShare), it will be limited by MicroSD speed via overhead and so on. Since WiFi 6, at ideal real time, has 1.2 Gbps, at best it will be a bit slower. In short, A55 is 80% of S24 features. You will feel the main differentiation is camera and Ai features. If you only use your phone as mean of communication and entertainment, A55 is enough. Oh, just remember than S24 has 7 major android support while A55 has 4 major android support. So, in a long run, S24 might be better for 2nd hand market
I got the s24 ultra. I've always had the S series. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Still interested in what your video has to say tho, so here I am 😊
S23 or 23 plus seem better to me as you get Snapdragon which usually means consistently good performance in all apps. Exynos tends to stutter in a few. S23 plus is coming down nicely in price. Then it's a choice of better battery or a more compact phone. A55 does all the basics well. The battery is very good for the performance offered.
@whatGear, for me the one with Dual sim, with micro SD slot space it's the best option, with good hardware &software, with all that A55 is giving us in the day to day usage and utility.
Things about samsung phone, Never buy full price without gift. S24 by far value for money. Dex Flagship Hardware At current moment, s24 almost same price.
Watching on my A55. I still have an S23U as my "camera" phone. Hoping it would last for at least 5 years more - and probably beyond if I can extend its Android software using custom ROMs.
If I had the money I'd get the S24 just because the more powerful CPU will last longer. However because I don't have money I'm looking at the A35 and possibly the A55 if I can find a good discount.
You could trade in some other devices in the samsung store. i traded in an iphone SE 2020 and got the A35 for 289€ instead of 449€ (the 256GB/8GB model). I couldn't justify the price increase for the A55.
@@brotherhoodofnod8852 Sadly they don't offer trade ins here in Cyprus. There isn't a Samsung store or website. You have to buy the phone from a tech shop or Network Provider.
Everything in the UK is overpriced because of tax. Here is what that tax is doing: a brand new s24 ultra 1tb in japan is around 900 uk pounds after converting currency using today's exchange rate. Not network locked, direct from Samsung. In the UK it's 1549 pounds for an identical device. You are getting extorted in the UK.
If you are used to iphones, don’t get android honestly, the system is different and you cant get used to it, I found the Android to be all over the place, too many things going on, notifications are like a loose gun, how ever much you try to control it, it has a mind of its own, it goes off in the middle of the night, felt like throwing it out of the window, stay away
there is a reason why they make it big and chunky so you would spend that money on s24. I dont see samsung realeasing a cheap compact phone because they know their flagship will go down the drain lol. Not everyone needs a highend chipset with fancy cameras. Many are living without it. Slim and compact phones were cheap, now because of the rarity, it becomes exclusive and they slap a heavy price tag on it. If other companies make compact phones within 6.2-6.4 inch with a decent spec. Only then samsung will ponder their prices. Right now your only alternate choice is probably Xiaomi 14 which then the software scuks 🤣🤣🤣
I privately own an S23 Ultra, and my work phone is an A53 5G. There is a huuge difference. First of all is the speed; no one can deny it. But what I found quite interesting is the fact that the A series lacks the vast array of functions available in the S series. For example, the A series has fewer options when you want to personalize the edge lightning style. It's not a big deal, but...
Since your video seem to cater to S24 Galaxy, I got A55 smartphone instead. The fingerprint reader is quite fast on my A55. But the camera on the A55 is acceptable for me. It has 8 GB of RAM & fast enough for me. It basically does what I want and prefer a larger smartphone. So, my new Samsung A55 suits me fine and I got the lovely "Ice Blue" version of that smartphone. I added a screen protector and heavy duty case to further protect my new A55. My best phone I have ever purchased I think as I do not demand a mid-range or high-ass priced flagship phone..
It is improvement from s10e except maybe no headphone jack ..i also got this cheap due to tradein of my old dying s10e😂 280usd..trust me it is better prenium build and that battery is a beast.❤
Yeah as an owner I do feel like it would make a great defensive weapon should someone attack me. It feels nice in hand though. As long as you use 2 hands.
Get the better phone guys. Nobody buys a phone at full price anyway, it's installment plans and cell service. I have the S24 256gb for only $60 a month unlimited data with insurance coverage.
Im confusing whether i should buy s24 or A55, obviously a55 is much cheaper, BUt the main function i care so so much is the camera specific,it seems they're the same 😂😂😂thank you so much for your work!
Who cares about peak brightness, don't care if it peaks at 9000 nits for .1 second. Care about sustained brightness. Like peak watts in audio equipment means nothing compared to rms wattage.
here in Brazil we have the s24 with exynos too.. So I preferred to get the S23 with SD 8 gen 2 for galaxy because sometimes I like to play some games, including emulators in general. I had a S20 with exynos 990 and for common use it was amazing, but for games it was not so good, especially for emulators. Other point is the battery with exynos generally is less efficient.
The difference in battery life between the exynos and snapdragon S24 series is negligible. Samsung has outdone themselves with this year's exynos chipset
Well done, thank you for such detailed comparison. Will follow you for more content in the future. Just a small tip - look for the volume levels when you use small inserts ;)
I'm still very confused. I have the galaxy note 5 for about a decade now, and i really need a new phone now, been saving for it. I currently have the budget for the A55 and if I waited for like 2 or 3 months, I could afford the S24 i guess. What is tempting to me and what I'm looking at that the S24 will be supported for 7 years, and also the beautiful Violet color and the thin Pisels of course. My only concern and what is bugging me about the S24 would be the battery and not supporting SD card. If i waited more I will be pushing myself more in terms of life expenses to save some more money. Also, what's keeping me from not want to wait any longer is how old my phone. Most the apps are not supported. Also, what is bugging me about the A55 would the transfer speed which USB C 2.0. And I will be transferring a lot of large files in the future that is a big deal to me. I guess I should wait for the S24 FE. Not sure if I would bear my current phone any longer tho.
A55 advantage, price and MicroSD Slot, battery life, and that's it. Everithing else is better on S24, specially SoC (SD 8 Gen 3 version), screen, bezels, cameras and real proximity sensor.
Personally, I'd never bother with flagships because I'm easily bored. I'd rather go with midrange that I can chuck away after 2 years & replace it without headache
I’m in the tach savvie older person age group and whilst it’s not for everyone I really appreciate a larger screen. I’m also convinced that for my stage of life a decent mid range phone is a perfect option. Thanks for sharing an interesting video 🙌👍
10:53 You say that the chip ain't that good for graphic demanding apps / games. You can't just judge that from just the benchmark numbers. The Exynoss 1480 is such a powerful chip considering the price and it runs current most demanding games graphically (Genshin Impact & Honkai Star Rail) at the highest with stable 40-45fps. It's a killer chip considering it's the first ever A Series with the AMD GPU installed.
My S8 gave up 2 years ago well out of warranty. The replacement S22 has just given up after 18months, well inside warranty. Samsung said it can’t be repaired and will offer an alternative. Not sure what I’m entitled to.
That poor S8 served you well. My s8+ is still doing its job but is showing some issues now. Looking for a new phone and good to know that S22 might be not a good choice
You compared the tiny 6.2" S24 to the mid-sized 6.6" A55. That is a pretty big difference, and the 6.7" S24+ is a few hundred dollars more than the S24, at least.

Removing the SD card slot on the A24 meant I went for the S25. I carry around perhaps two hundred gigabytes of audio books, movies and TV shows as I travel Was a very easy decision to make. Also meant I could take the SD card from my old phone and just put it in the new without having to transfer everything.
The regular S24 size is really nice...I've been using the ultras every year and Notes before that. It is nice to have something a bit easier to use one handed. It would like it even more if it had the Gorilla Armour glass though
I used to buy Chinese brands Huawei, Blackview... First of all, there's no guarantee your data is safe. The camera hardware remains unchanged for years now and pair that up with the low battery capacity, slow charging and the return of the exynos chips, there are just tons of better phones at the price-point they are selling it. The only saving grace that they have is literally just their software imo.

Got the A55 in 'ice blue', it's such a beautiful and premium feeling phone with some decent cameras, aluminum frame, latest Exynos1480 4nm chip, 5000mAh battery etc. Got it in Samsung app store for 450,- minus 50,- discount and with Buds FE (75 euro) so for just 325 euro🎉
The A55 does 90% of what an S24 does for 1/3 of the price 👍
Nah man. The s24 is way better than the A55. Better cameras better display brightness ect. And the exynos chip is trash.
@DuffLillie-sh3us S24 also has Exynos here in Europe. So way too expensive
Us brits just love to pay more for stuff...well at least that's what the government thinks
That's true, but by regarding the long-term use of the phone, s24 is definitely a better option with 7 years update and more powerful cheapset. Also the premium design(esp thin bezzels) make you not feel that my phone is old after several years, like that I feel the S20 series are still premium and modern.
@ThisisHamidreza Yeah well maybe. I never have a phone for 7 years, I usually skip just one generation.
You forgot to mention that the s24 has 7 years of android updates where as the a55 has only 4 years.
That's a really good point!
Will an S24 battery last 7 years without replacement? Guess a half way replacement after around 3 years can be done...
@@demi5136 Now a days its pretty quick to switch your phone data around with Samsung.
The main differences in the A54 and the S21+ are:
-The A54 is newer, but the S21+ gets 2 or 3 more years of OS updates.
I run a lot more apps than he does too.)
-The A54 has better battery life.
He's a welder, and very hard on phones.)
-My husband is impressed with the S21+ instantanious facial recognition, due to low-light sensors, and a better GPU/CPU.
-The A54 gets a much better 5G signal inside our house (T-mobile). However, he just texted me from an airplane at 30,000 feet (Verizon.) (So fast 5G vs. extremely long-range 4G/5G signal.)
so cheap lol here that wouldbe 450$
How you bought s21+ and a54 for 150$ each?
Thanks for the review! 😊
very helpful thank you!
Sven is about facts and real talk🎉
I've seen a55 struggle with codm and doesn't even offer 90fps
It's really not for gamers. Don't make a mistake
Rather buy an older flagship. This a55 sits at a price where you can get older flagships that are better in every way. Honestly, that's my problem with this device, at it's price there are better alternatives and it just doesn't make sense
@@bignoob2726 can u share with me what other options that i can buy within this range?
I feel like if you're the type of person who takes your phone with you everywhere, get a good phone and with these you got 7 years of OS updates.
whats the biggest difference? im also using a54 and wanting to switch to base s24 just not sure if thats even remotely a good idea lol
Nothing at all wrong with the A54, S24 is just better in every way.
yeah my only concern is the battery, i do use apps quite a bit so yeah how about size? are they the same when held in hand?

@@derekreece5991 friendly reminder a52 has a snapdragon

To all the people wondering about how much CPU speed actuall matters:
A normal person can baerly make use of all the extra performance that a high end chip can offer.

Iv got a55 love it would not swap it for anything ❤
The resolution is the same so it could also be a good choice for people who wants to save money to buy the A55. Hope samsung could work on those thick bezels on the A55.

Such a shame Samsung went with lame colors for A55 this year. I want to buy this phone, but I hate every colorway LOL.
I must admit, the dark blue was the only one I liked a little bit...and yes, the colours this year aren't great.
Galaxy A55 is a good option...save loads...and looks like a good phone if yer like your Samsung phones
If u always use dark mode on screen time , so bazel things does not matter.
Data transfer is faster and easier if you use QuickShare for A55 since its port is limited to USB 2.0
Even if you want to transfer via WiFi (QuickShare), it will be limited by MicroSD speed via overhead and so on.

It’s a bit obvious, It’s the cheaper model. It shouldn’t be better lol but how much better is it?
Personally, I'd never bother with flagships because I'm easily bored. I'd rather go with midrange that I can chuck away after 2 years & replace it without headache
We don't have any better options for compact phones. S24 is the best.
what clock widget is that? i don't see that on my a54
I’m in the tach savvie older person age group and whilst it’s not for everyone I really appreciate a larger screen.
If my main tasks are whatsapp, watch tiktok, sometimes youtube, surfing, listening to music, I don't like to play games. Is A55 a better choice?
Yes definitely
My S8 gave up 2 years ago well out of warranty. The replacement S22 has just given up after 18months, well inside warranty. Samsung said it can’t be repaired and will offer an alternative. Not sure what I’m entitled to.
That poor S8 served you well.
My s8+ is still doing its job but is showing some issues now.
Looking for a new phone and good to know that S22 might be not a good choice
@@shaddapforever Samsung gave me an S23. It's great. Just binned the Otterbox wallet case (rubbish) for a Spigen Tough Armour. This phone has to last.
You compared the tiny 6.2" S24 to the mid-sized 6.6" A55. That is a pretty big difference, and the 6.7" S24+ is a few hundred dollars more than the S24, at least.
A lot of people don't realize the 7 years of updates are also baked into the price of the s24, which helps with resale value
Чувак, это понятно даже дураку что все входит в стоимость любого товара абсолютно и не только техники, так говорят люди которые не могут себе этого позволить, не ищи свои дурацкие оправдание, выглядишь глупо
A55 not worth in india
BECAUSE
Prices in india
Upcoming M35 250$
M55 300$
S21 fe 350$
A55 400$
S22 450$
S23 550$
S24 650$
S21FE WAY BETER DEAL THAN A55 AT 350$
Removing the SD card slot on the A24 meant I went for the S25. I carry around perhaps two hundred gigabytes of audio books, movies and TV shows as I travel Was a very easy decision to make. Also meant I could take the SD card from my old phone and just put it in the new without having to transfer everything.
A55 is too big.
The regular S24 size is really nice...I've been using the ultras every year and Notes before that. It is nice to have something a bit easier to use one handed. It would like it even more if it had the Gorilla Armour glass though
Nah, after you use big phones, it's hard to go back.
Yeah i know lol but after getting the s23 after some days you love it@@futurafrlx8874
@@futurafrlx8874 I have a big phone, I really want to switch back thus I'm looking reviews on the s24
@@futurafrlx8874 it won't be when you have small hands cuz you are stuck with them for the rest of your life lol
Very professional video. Nicely done.
Thanks :)
Hey! Is that S24 the cobalt violet color?
Yes! It's a really nice colour option in my opinion
@@WhatGear fantastic, thanks! I wanted to see it in person but my local store didn't have it. So I'm glad you featured it here! It's beautiful😍
@@normal4810and did you bought it already ? 😂
instead of getting A55 i would rather get s24 or buy a smartphone from these companies oneplus, redmi, realme, oppo, vivo, iqoo
What are you talking about, bloody rubbish. I have an A55 and it's brilliant
I used to buy Chinese brands Huawei, Blackview... First of all, there's no guarantee your data is safe. Then... it probably won't get a lot of software support (meaning it's likely to be outdated soon) and if something goes wrong... You may or may not be given proper customer support. Stick with South Korean companies I would say!
@@DFrencel no no in my country brands like Xiaomi redmi realme oppo Vivo OnePlus provides 3 yrs of update even in budget phones which cost 1/3rd of iPhone 15, and provide good customer service I m using Xiaomi redmi phone for past 2 yrs it is still smooth af, samsung budget and midrange phones are literally shit compared to Chinese phones of these brands, only s series is good.
@@jleb22 it will start lagging in a year because it has very bad chipset that's the major con u will see , everything else is fine
@@jleb22 chipset compared to Chinese phones like in OnePlus 12r which cost less than a55 u get snapdragon 8 gen 2 🥀
Why shouldn't I make a mistake? I will make so many mistakes as I want. So don't tell me what to do. I hate such thumbnail phrases.
Don't be so petty. You can understand subscribe if your so fickle.
Lol, this comment is very underrated! 😂
Yeah. It is a small thing. But thumbnails these days feel so forced and even cringe
Lol😂
Your not serious are you if you don't like then don't watch the video
Really good job in presenting the pros and cons of each device! You made my day!
Watching from S24+ I can confirm you Samsung has that premium quality on their flagship phones, idk even the UI feels premium, the material used everything, they just makes you feel like you took the right decision on buying their flagships, noting that I was using A54.
The A55 is basically an S20 FE with the S24 design. Same chipset performance, same battery capacity, same display etc...
Thank you for the indepth review
A55 doesn’t support 4k 60fps according to GSMarena. Please correct me if i am wrong.
Yes that is true you cannot record 4k 60fps but can do in 30fps.
You can still recording 1080p 60fps
I have the S23, I can record 4k 60fps 8k 24fps 1080p 120fps not slow mo its normal recording.
He lied to you

bruh with this logic oneplus, redmi, realme, oppo, vivo, iqoo phones are way more value for money than A55
in india a55 is considered such a waste of money because in same prize u can get specs close to s24 lol
I love this video. Thanks for posting
The base models of samsungs s series are basically a joke to me. The camera hardware remains unchanged for years now and pair that up with the low battery capacity, slow charging and the return of the exynos chips, there are just tons of better phones at the price-point they are selling it. The only saving grace that they have is literally just their software imo.
which phone are you using or which phone would you recommend instead of s24 and A55?
I have a s22 and I just bought a A55 (before this video) mainly due to battery life, which is horrible with the s22. I don't even do much besides whatsapp and some simple games. I thought about getting the s24 but the battery life doesn't seem to be much better than with the s22. I hope I made the right choice.
